Motel Steighof

Rooms a bit of a surprise. Concrete block building but the rooms are OK, if a bit worn. Breakfast limited but acceptable. All staff very helpful and friendly.

Unique setting

When I entered my room (1) the door was open. It was freezing inside so I put on the heaters. One was hot instantly but since it was in front of the door and bathroom it didn’t help making the room warm. It took at least 3-4 hours until the temperature was reasonable. The other heater, under the window, made water noises the whole time until maybe 11pm. And started at 5am again. Even with earplugs and the other pillow over my head it was too noisy to sleep. It probably needs to be purged or something. Then at 11:18pm (I was asleep) someone knocked on the door next to mine but it was so loud I thought it was mine. They asked « hast du essen? ». Apparently I wasn’t the person they were expecting so they dismissed me but without even apologizing for waking me up. Also there is no 4G data at all. And the wifi doesn’t reach into this room. It connects for a second and then disconnects. I wasn’t even able to upload a 20Mo file to a cloud drive. I came here to sleep and work. It was really difficult to do either. Thankfully the food was good and there was wifi in the restaurant. But I would have loved wifi in the room too.
