Excellent location right on the water. We had a lakeside room, and the view was fantastic. The freshly remodeled rooms were very clean and modern. They had free rentals of bikes, ebikes, and kayaks, which was a nice perk. All in all, a great stay.

It was very nice, loved getting biggby each morning, staff were very pleasant, only complaint I would have is the pool feeling unclean as well as the hot tub. Other than that the rooms were fabulous, nice beds, the faucets could maybe use a clean from calcium buildup. Thank you for the wonderful stay Terrace!

Front desk staff were super helpful, friendly, and responsive. Our view of the lake was awesome. The room had all of the amenities we wanted and was well maintained. The only complaint would be the hot tub and pool area need to be updated. Hot tub had foam and scum in it. But everything else was so amazing that we didn’t hold it against the rating overall. We would plan a hole trip around the hotel and drive everywhere just to stay there. Wish the restaurant wasn’t so expensive or we would have tried it too.

The room was clean and comfortable although the stains in the sink and corrosion on bathroom fixtures was unexpected. The view is beautiful and the amenities are very nice. The grounds could use some TLC (fence repair, weeds). The electric bikes were a very pleasant surprise and afforded us an opportunity to see the area.

Property needs some renovations on outside but inside is updated. Nice coffee shop in lobby that was pretty busy all weekend. Can use bikes to go to beach and kayaks on site. We liked the restaurant . Good food.

The restaurant onsite was absolutely amazing!! Wonderful food, service and cleanliness. It was a busy night and the food came out very fast. The room was comfortable. Unfortunately there was quite a bit of hair in our fridge, and on surfaces. But overall it was clean. The bed was nice. There was no sound proofing. We could hear everything going on in the hallway and in the rooms around us. And unfortunately the train was very close to our room and came through multiple times a night. All the staff was friendly, welcoming and helpful! Over we enjoyed our stay!

Room appeared very new and quite nice. BUT why would anyone put the bed 3 feet from the air conditioner??? Drafty, noisy and kept us awake all night. Someone is not thinking here. Not sure we want return despite a great location and decent restaurant. Frustrating! On-site coffee shop was overcrowded and offered little for breakfast. Also frustrating.

The hotel has been newly updated so the rooms look nice. Unfortunately they didn’t take into account hard floors are horrible for noise! We had a room that had an adjoining room door. The door probably had 1/2 in clearance from the floor and was very thin. We had a family next to us and we could literally hear every word that they said and every cough from the poor child with a cold. We had to turn on the AC fan on manual to try to drown it out so we could get some sleep. Noise was such an issue that we will not be back.

Nice hotel, we stayed on the street side of the “tower” it can be a little noisy during the early morning hours so I would recommend the lake side for a more peaceful sleep. The rooms in the tower are quite spacious. All in all a good experience. I would happily return.

We paid for the upgraded Superior King room and we were placed on the third floor of four. This is the new section of the building. The room was beautiful and clean. Great view of the lake from the bed to watch the sunrise. Unfortunately, the room above us had either construction or very active customers. I could hear every step at 5 am, it sounded like they were dancing or practicing karate up there. Not much insulation for sound between floors. Other than a higher price, I cannot see a difference between the superior room and the premium room. The wifi is spotty and disconnected often. The attached restaurant is fantastic. High prices, but worth a visit. Having Bigby coffee on site really made enjoying coffee in the morning convenient. Overall, I would recommend staying here, I just wouldn't pay the extra for a premium room, especially if there is a floor above you.

Rooms have been updated. Our room had a kitchen but no silverware, cookware or dishes. Why provide a stovetop, frig and kitchen but nothing to use with it. Also room on main level on the end was NOT private st all!!! Virw was great though

This was the second time we have stayed here when visiting the area. The staff is always pleasant and helpful. This stay we were in the new section. The room was extremely clean and the lake view was spectacular. However the pillows were small and alittle on the harder side for our liking. Also when the heat/air went on every hour it sounded like there were rocks in the unit.

Property is still under construction. Had to check in at the coffee shop down the street. Had to wait for three young ladies to finish their conversations before being acknowledged. Parking was less than desirable. The beach more resembles a swamp. Rooms in the new facility are very nice and comfortable. Just wish that we had been better informed of all conditions.

The property is fine but we paid for a lake view room but because we booked through expedia we were given a parking lot view and they were fully booked. Plus the TV didn’t work. Will always book with the property and the representative from Expedia wouldn’t match the room rate for this room which was $50 less than what we paid Expedia, Very disappointed to say the least.

Friendly staff. Clean facilities. Had a problem with the tv, sent a text to the front desk and they sent someone up within minutes. Gentleman was friendly and efficient, fixed in no time. Rooms were beautiful and the view with sunrise was amazing. Would definitely stay again.

The staff are always so welcoming and inviting when arriving at the hotel! I love that they text you throughout your stay to check in to see how things are going! The rooms are always clean and beds are always nicely made! It seems my friend and I have stayed in the same room for the last three visits!! We always get a lake view room and will forever love the view!! Staff are always so friendly when I see them through my stay!! If you are in need of a nice hotel for a weekend getaway, this is the hotel for you!!

We were in the newest section of this hotel. The room was beautiful and the views were spectacular of the Little Bay de Noc. The staff are fantastic! Regular texts sent to check to see if you need anything and how your room is, room cleaned EVERY day unlike most hotels now days. Excellent location right on the water. We had a lakeside room, and the view was fantastic. The freshly remodeled rooms were very clean and modern. They had free rentals of bikes, ebikes, and kayaks, which was a nice perk. All in all, a great stay.

Beautiful room with nice amenities and a great view. The food at their restaurant was wonderful, and we enjoyed the onsite coffee shop. We grabbed a cup, checked out one of their complimentary E-bikes and enjoyed a ride on the paved trail that ran along the lake.

Best customer service. Absolutely perfect place to stay alone or with family. Everything you need is on site or close drive. Breathtaking views. Access to gorgeous bike path up to Gladstone along Lake Michigan.

The restaurant had a very interesting menu and the food was well prepared but it wasn’t open long enough . This was probably due to staffing issues but it would have been nice if the restaurant served a breakfast / lunch options There was plenty of staff cleaning the rooms . I’ve never seen so many employees vacuuming dusting etc

Check-in was a breeze and the receptionist was very accommodating. I will say that I really overpaid for the room through Expedia. From the description I was expecting something higher end. The rooms are clean and modern but higher-end details are missing. Furniture is cheap and uncomfortable and the bed sheets are too small for the mattress. Paint job is amateur and the two sinks makes no sense especially because one doesn’t have a soap dispenser. The restaurant, Freshwater Tavern, serves excellent food. We had a Bibb lettuce salad which was the best I’ve ever tasted and some cheese curds that were cubed and so delicious. The ribs were incredible and we split them and for $8 more we were able to get an extra set of sides. Our waitress was efficient and just attentive enough. Overall, I give the place 3 stars for accommodations and 5 stars for the restaurant.

There's nothing between the rooms to reduce noise. The hallways are the same and every conversation could be heard by passing guests and staff. We could hear everything on all sides of the room we were in. (This is in the newer side of the building.) The tvs in the neighboring rooms sounded as though they were right in our room. The staff double billed me, but did reverse the transaction when I brought it to their attention. The elevator was out when we arrived, but they did repair it while we were there. The phone did not work in our room. The lights were dimmable in the ceiling (no other light fixtures in ceiling only two lamps in double room). All lights flickered suggesting electrical issues beyond the elevator malfunction. Not worth the prices being charged for the rooms and lakeview. Likely the bar and coffee shop are all that's keeping them afloat.

I have Parkinson’s and forgot to ask for a Handicap room when I made the reservation. Staff seemed uncertain when asked about a handicap accessible room. Our room was upgraded but not to a handicap room. A shower chair was provided for the shower but it was absent of grab bars. Location of shampoo, cream rinse and body was inconvenient. No place to set guests own shower supplies. Getting into the bed, due to height was a bit of a challenge but once in, found it to be very comfortable . Otherwise, room was very comfortable and enjoyed our short stay.

Our stay was very good. We enjoyed the area although we did not have a lakeside room. Doing day trips in the surrounding area gave us an opportunity to see the Bay de Noc beach and Tequamenon State park and the georgeous waterfall that is in that park. We ended up with a handicapped room, which I don't think I requested, but it was nice that my husband did not have to step over the side of a tub to shower. The floor in the shower was a bit slippery so we were very careful when showering. Our room could have used 1 more lamp in the corner by the TV. There was a very useful dresser there but the corner was dark. We would recommend The Terrace to anyone who wants to stay in a place that is unique and a bit upscale and is not a run of the mill chain hotel. The dinners we had at the onsite restaurant were very good and the wait staff was excellent.
