Residenza Il Campanile wird für seine zentrale Lage an der Fußgängerhauptstraße von Sorrent, das durchweg freundliche und hilfsbereite Personal, die sehr sauberen und komfortablen Zimmer sowie das angenehme Frühstück auf der Dachterrasse mit Aussicht gelobt, was es bequem macht, Sehenswürdigkeiten und Verkehrsmittel zu erreichen.

Häufige Kompromisse sind Straßenlärm und Glockengeläut, besonders nachts, sowie das Fehlen eines Aufzugs mit steilen Treppen in diesem historischen Gebäude. Die Rezeption ist nicht rund um die Uhr besetzt, aber das Personal ist erreichbar, und einige Gäste erwähnten schwächere Klimaanlagen oder langsames Warmwasser. Amazing first class B&B in the historic center and walkable to/from train station as well as restaurants and bus to Amalfi coast. Rooms are very clean and decorated nicely. Front desk staff was just lovely, so friendly and helpful! Excellent breakfast with nice choices and beautiful views.

Four night stay in October. Property is in the heart of city center on the main road through Sorrento. Sits next door to the Campanile. Can get a little noisy at night if you are a light sleeper or like to turn in early. Ringing bells in the morning as well which I enjoyed. Shopping and dining options abound in close proximity. Motor vehicles are not allowed on the street at least after a certain time perhaps 11:00am. You must walk about 150 meters or so to meet your ride or taxi. The staff is very courteous and helpful however the front desk is not staffed at all hours. A staff person is however available by phone. There is no elevator so depending on your room at least some stairs will need to be navigated. All in all a very nice experience and if you enjoy being in the heart of the action give them a try.

The location was perfect! Staff was friendly and helpful. Beautiful view from the terrace. No elevator can be a problem for some. However, we are in our 70’s and did not have a problem. Great place and would stay again!

Lots to like and I would happily recommend anyone to stay here. Be aware that there is no lift and stairs are quite steep. Staff are excellent but are not on site 24/7 however are easily contactable via WhatsApp and are extremely helpful. Breakfast is on an open air terrace with lovely views, however during our stay it was too cold to sit out. There are 2 small tables under cover or you can take breakfast to your room.

Camera carina e bagno spazioso. Personale gentile e disponibile. Colazione semplice ma buona. Essendo una struttura antica ovviamente non c'è l'ascensore ed essendo attaccata al campanile ci si sveglia con le campane però noi abbiamo dormito abbastanza bene anche se essendo sulla strada principale di Sorrento ovviamente c'era un po' di rumore.

This was a great option right on Corso Italia street, the main avenue connecting the old square, and easy walk to main port. The area itself is where all the action in the city takes place. If you want to be in the center, This is it. Room: Very nice and clean, Ac in room. Large bathroom and everything is super clean. Great stay and location for the money.

This place was SO NICE! We did 6 different hotels at different places throughout Italy and this was hands down our favorite! The host was incredibly nice and helpful, the place was so clean, modern, and cute! Located in literally the perfect area. I can’t recommend this place enough.

The property was absolutey lovely, clean , location was right on the strip next to shopping, dining...The roof top terrace is where we had our continetal breakast every morning. Our stay at Residenza Campanile in Sorrento was absolutely amazing! The location is perfect, right in the heart of Sorrento and within easy walking distance to all the restaurants, shops, and main attractions. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and very well kept. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, making us feel so welcome throughout our stay. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience, highly recommend!

The residence is great, very well located and the room is very nice and comfortable. The staff is also very friendly. Only negative side is that the windows don’t isolate the outdoor’s sound, meaning you can hear even when someone is speaking on the phone on the street. And given that it’s a touristy street, there is noise almost all night (people, duomo bells, street cleaning), so I would recommend to bring ear plugs. Otherwise it would be a perfect place to stay! :)

This place is a gem! Perfect location and amazing staff. Very friendly and communicative. There are 2 reasons I am not giving this location a full 5 star review. One is that there was a lack of hot water. The shower and sink lost pressure when turned to hot and it took a very long time to heat up. I am sure in the summer this is not an issue but it was in the winter. Something else to be aware of, the Main Street is very loud at night. We could hear full conversations from people on the street. I do want to stress that the location was perfect, the room was beautiful and the host was lovely.

This is a wonderful location situated on the Main Street (walking street - no cars) a little street noise for happy folks outside but not enough to keep awake over ; comfy beds and spacious bathroom; fabulous staff ! Can’t say enough about the location and comfort; breakfast is typical continental light breakfast; because it’s a pedestrian street only, you need to drag luggage down the street maybe 1/8 of a mile if that; highly recommend this location

I will second what a few others have said, Loredana is the reason we are giving this high of a review. She was so sweet and helpful and really made our stay enjoyable. The room in itself was great and very clean. The reason for our less than excellent review was that our room was loud as we were on the second floor next to the very busy pedestrian street. We were there Friday-Monday, Friday and Saturday nights were almost impossible to sleep even with headphones or earplugs, so just a fair warning to light sleepers. If your stay is not during the weekend or if noise doesn’t bother you then I’d recommend staying here because of the convenient location and because Loredana is so great.

The staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating. Rooms were awesome. Each morning breakfast hit the spot. We had a later train out after our stay and our bags were kept while we explored Sorrento.

This is a great place to visit and stay; the hotel staff is amazingly wonderful and kind; super helpful with any questions that I had and very responsive; the location is great- it is on a street that is basically closed off to pedestrians only although you will see e-bikes & every once in a while, a scooter passed by; oodles of shops and restaurants right outside your door up and down the main street; side streets, also filled with restaurants and shops and beautiful historic churches and buildings; great place to base and see the rest of the Amalfi coast. The morning breakfast is a basic European continental. But there are lots of cafés nearby although mostly for breakfast it’s continental pastries and cappuccino / coffee. nearby restaurants also do the usual bacon and eggs, pancakes, etc.. it is very safe here although anytime we travel we of course stay aware of our surroundings, but I never felt unsafe exactly the opposite actually. Pack light as no elevator / lift as with many of these older buildings; we came in September/October and the weather was fabulous. Crowds are reasonably tolerable :) most merchants spoke English in the stores and restaurants.

This is a great place to visit and stay; the hotel staff is amazingly wonderful and kind; super helpful with any questions that I had and very responsive; the location is great- it is on a street that is basically closed off to pedestrians only although you will see e-bikes & every once in a while, a scooter passed by; oodles of shops and restaurants right outside your door up and down the main street; side streets, also filled with restaurants and shops and beautiful historic churches and buildings; great place to base and see the rest of the Amalfi coast. The morning breakfast is a basic European continental. But there are lots of cafés nearby although mostly for breakfast it’s continental pastries and cappuccino / coffee. nearby restaurants also do the usual bacon and eggs, pancakes, etc.. it is very safe here although anytime we travel we of course stay aware of our surroundings, but I never felt unsafe exactly the opposite actually. Pack light as no elevator / lift as with many of these older buildings; we came in September/October and the weather was fabulous. Crowds are reasonably tolerable :) most merchants spoke English in the stores and restaurants.

Staff are excellent but are not on site 24/7 however are easily contactable via WhatsApp and are extremely helpful. Breakfast is on an open air terrace with lovely views, however during our stay it was too cold to sit out. There are 2 small tables under cover or you can take breakfast to your room.

The location was ideal. We felt part of the Centre of Sorrento. Our rooms were very clean and modern. Loredana was very accomading, friendly and service oriented. Breakfast was very punctual filling and just right especially with cappuccino and expresso made fresh at the rooftop with a view. Stairs are a bit of a challenge for older less mobile individuals. Church is next door however the bells did not bother us. Lovely place and best location right in the middle of all the action, music, shopping, dining, ambiance. The Ferry to Capri was only a 10 min. Walk which was very convenient and saved us money, no taxi needed. Finally, Loredana even helped my parents with their luggage and brought us to the taxi location about 500 yards away. Thank you! 👌

Aside from the terrific location on the pedestrian only street the host Lori was truly exceptional. We corresponded by text and phone prior to our arrival and she made us feel very welcome. She started breakfast earlier twice in order for us to get on a tour for the day and to have an early departure on another day to catch our train. The room was large, extremely clean and a comfortable bed with good reading lights. My wife and I spent three nights there and we highly recommended this accommodation.

This was a great option right on Corso Italia street, the main avenue connecting the old square, and easy walk to main port. The area itself is where all the action in the city takes place. If you want to be in the center, This is it. Room: Very nice and clean, Ac in room. Large bathroom and everything is super clean. Great stay and location for the money.

We had a fantastic 5 night stay at Residenza Il Campanile and highly recommend it. The hotel is located on a street with lots of stores, eateries, coffee and gelato shops. We loved the location and walked everywhere. It is very close to everything - Piazza Tasso, the train station, bus stations (to the Almafi Coast), souvenir shops, etc. Virna and Antonella were so lovely and helpful and made our stay very special. Four night stay in October. Property is in the heart of city center on the main road through Sorrento. Sits next door to the Campanile. Can get a little noisy at night if you are a light sleeper or like to turn in early. Ringing bells in the morning as well which I enjoyed. Shopping and dining options abound in close proximity. Motor vehicles are not allowed on the street at least after a certain time perhaps 11:00am. You must walk about 150 meters or so to meet your ride or taxi. The staff is very courteous and helpful however the front desk is not staffed at all hours. A staff person is however available by phone. There is no elevator so depending on your room at least some stairs will need to be navigated. All in all a very nice experience and if you enjoy being in the heart of the action give them a try.

The Residenza il Campanile was more than what I was expecting. The hotel is in a very convenient spot. Walking distance to both the train station and the port. The hotel is in the heart of Sorrento. It’s on the main road where all the bigger stores are located. It has easy access to all things. Sorrento the main road could get loud at night. But it wasn’t too bad from my room. The staff was excellent. They’re very accommodating and quite helpful I would highly recommend staying here.

Amazing first class B&B in the historic center and walkable to/from train station as well as restaurants and bus to Amalfi coast. Rooms are very clean and decorated nicely. Front desk staff was just lovely, so friendly and helpful! Excellent breakfast with nice choices and beautiful views.

Virna was so helpful upon check in. Room was very clean and spacious. We had a balcony onto the Main Street. It was nice to open up and hear the sounds from the city. Breakfast each morning on rooftop terrace was great. They were so accommodating to us. Would definitely come back here if we return.

My husband and I had a great stay here! The staff we met were all friendly and helpful, always ready with a restaurant recommendation or another cappuccino at breakfast. We loved the location (it is as noisy as they say, but this didn't bother us) and made the most of our stay by walking through as many of the streets as we could! Parking was a bit tricky for us, after driving around a while we parked in a lot up the hill which worked out. We would definitely stay here again if we find ourselves returning to Sorrento.

However take heed- - when the property says area has “action” and is noisy they mean it. I think due to the square on front of cathedral it’s a gathering place in middle of corse —- and it IS very noisy - especially when a gal with some weird instrument playing fake music til 2am. We recently stayed at Residenza II Campanile in Salerno and overall had a very positive experience. The location is excellent—right in the heart of the historic center and within walking distance of restaurants, shops, the waterfront, and many of the city’s attractions. It was hard to imagine a more convenient place to stay. The room was also larger than we expected, which was a pleasant surprise. When we arrived, however, there was a noticeable sewer gas odor coming from the bathroom drains. We reported it to the owner right away and even discussed the possibility of changing rooms. The owner responded promptly and treated the drains with a product that actually eliminated the odor rather than simply masking it. The issue was resolved and did not affect the remainder of our stay. One thing to keep in mind is that the property is located next to a church. Around 8:00 AM each morning, the church bells ring loudly. For us, it became an automatic alarm clock. Some guests may enjoy the authentic local atmosphere, while lighter sleepers may find it a bit early. Overall, the combination of an outstanding location, spacious accommodations, and attentive management made this a very enjoyable stay. We would gladly stay here again when visiting Salerno.
