Great place to stay the night before our Seal Sanctuary Experience around the corner in Gweek. Lovely clean and bright bedroom. Delicious evening meal in the pub. Also very tasty breakfast in the morning, very friendly lady served us and was very flexible about the time we needed to have our breakfast.

Il posto, ovvero il villaggio di GWEEK , é tranquillo e molto , e per chi ha bisogno di tranquillità, pur essendo vicino ad impianti attrattive, é l'ideale Ma la cosa che , almeno per me, lo ha reso unico, é stato l'incontro , presso il Pub , sala ristorante dello stesso hotel , con abitanti inglesi del posto( spesso sono Londinesi buche hanno una seconda casa qui, o sono andati via da Londra). Persone con cui poter parlare , scherzare. Persino io ragazzo del pub é stato simpaticissimo, come anche il cuoco , credi anche responsabile. Quest'ultima , una persona interessante per mentalità, esperienze di vita. Io consiglio il BLACK SWAN, poi il fatto di interagire con le persone del posto , o semplicemente con avventori, dipende molto anche da ognuno di voi

This is a real pub - simple but gets the job done . Nothing fancy and Qweek is a hole in the wall village. Not super convient but as close to the Lizard as you can get and other popular locations nearby. A classic rural driving experience getting there .Priced right . The room was simple but clean . Enjoy a pub experience

Nice village pub in rural picturesque spot. Very good beer, nice atmosphere. Room clean and tidy. Lovely staff. Menu of pub classics very nice fish and chips. Breakfast very good. Quirky village shop opposite had great range of local, gf, deli. A very friendly pub .

Lovely welcome, nice room with good facilities. Food was excellent, served very quickly and obviously freshly cooked. Host was very friendly and runs a good pub/hotel.

Sadly not the same as when previous owners were there. When we arrived they didn't know we were coming, even though I'd booked weeks beforehand, so we had to wait for the room to be prepared. UHT milk in the room were 4 months out of date. They advertise the bar as being open til 11.30 but they kicked us out at 9.30 because it was quiet, even though we were still having drinks. There was also nobody there to check us out, we were told just to leave the key in the door. I say this with kindness because they seem like nice people, but the hospitality just isn't there. It's clear that they prioritise the locals, but for £125 a night for a room, there should be a bit more service. On the bright side, the room was clean , the bed was comfy, and the breakfast and pizzas were delicious!

Very friendly pub food was excellent all other people comments saying food was bad new chef excellent rooms were extremely clean staff were friendly I'd advise anyone to go and stay here or try their food I will definitely be going back

Just awful - no concept of service in fact contemptuous gardens full of litter and broken glass overflowing ashtrays in garden tables and clearly been there for days. At £50 per night probably would not have complained but at £110 I it is disgraceful

Lovely people working there but it needs a really good clean. Bed comfortable & food in the bar nice. Might have caught them on an off day as the lady wasn’t well.

Very nice bed for 1 night, but the room wasn't absolutely clean especially the toilet. There was a used towel on the towel rack and clean towels on the bed when I arrived. I had to ask for milk and for staff to turn the heating on from downstairs. Pizza was good and staff were friendly.

The electrics (lighting) didn't work in the shower room so they moved me to a room that hadn't been cleaned, everything was used and not cleaned including carpet, shower, no towels, so I took the ones from the first room. Staff were dismissive about it all. The only thing done was changing the pillows. Then they left to attend to a party downstairs. I felt as if I was an inconvenience to them, including the handyman who couldn't fix the lights. I was the only guest there for the night. The next morning I went downstairs to leave asap, there was no one there to see me off too.

Alle Zimmer liegen zur Straße, die Fenster sind - typisch IK - einfach verglast. Autos fahren direkt am Fenster vorbei, der Lärm ist enorm. Eine 2te Bettdecke ist trotzt Nachfragen nie bereitgestellt worden, das Zimmer ist bei 4 Nächten nicht ein Mal gereinigt worden. Frühstück-Auswahl = 2 Optionen. Wir haben 120 GBP / Nacht bezahlt, unglaublich!

we are certainly not ones to moan or complain but we stayed in 3 properties on our trip to cornwall,unfortunatly the black swan was not how it looked on the photo,very run down room,very basic for the money,No breakfast,no one there in the morning other than the cleaner.will not be going back,not worth the money at all

Lilly was brilliant. Place was clean. Original room not ready for us 2 1/2 hours after check in time. The room we were given, toilet seat didn’t fit toilet & it was loose. Had to ask for additional tea bags and room bin to be emptied. I’d suggest if your not going to service the room that’s fine, but at least put enough tea bags and milk to have a cuppa every morning your there and a bin big enough for the stay. Had one meal there mine was ok and my wife’s was sent back - personally I’d give eating there a miss.

Lovely spot with the gweek creek 2 min walk lovely views fantastic bed and good shower plenty of water pressure can be a bit noisy early on but super quite bedtime will stop again

A mixed review: Generous room, exceptionally comfortable bed, spacious shower. Friendly courteous staff, good food & drink. We chose The Black Swan as it was one of the few places which included breakfast in the price we paid. Alas we were let down on both mornings! The first morning was negated by a free main meal the following evening. The second, however, was a complete no show despite having arranged personally the specific time with the landlady the previous evening! We waited 45mins only for the place to stay in darkness. I have yet to receive any communication regarding this matter which is hugely disappointing. The fire door leading out from the accommodation was locked which is a significant worry as both windows in the room would not open.

Owner only taken over pub 2 days before my visit and kitchen had been declared as unfit so no evening meal staff very friendly and room clean so no complaints but difficult to give a real assessment due to problems

UHT milk in the room were 4 months out of date. They advertise the bar as being open til 11.30 but they kicked us out at 9.30 because it was quiet, even though we were still having drinks. There was also nobody there to check us out, we were told just to leave the key in the door. I say this with kindness because they seem like nice people, but the hospitality just isn't there. It's clear that they prioritise the locals, but for £125 a night for a room, there should be a bit more service. On the bright side, the room was clean , the bed was comfy, and the breakfast and pizzas were delicious!

The electrics (lighting) didn't work in the shower room so they moved me to a room that hadn't been cleaned, everything was used and not cleaned including carpet, shower, no towels, so I took the ones from the first room. Staff were dismissive about it all. The only thing done was changing the pillows. Then they left to attend to a party downstairs. I felt as if I was an inconvenience to them, including the handyman who couldn't fix the lights. I was the only guest there for the night. The next morning I went downstairs to leave asap, there was no one there to see me off too.

A mixed review: Generous room, exceptionally comfortable bed, spacious shower. Friendly courteous staff, good food & drink. We chose The Black Swan as it was one of the few places which included breakfast in the price we paid. Alas we were let down on both mornings! The first morning was negated by a free main meal the following evening. The second, however, was a complete no show despite having arranged personally the specific time with the landlady the previous evening! We waited 45mins only for the place to stay in darkness. I have yet to receive any communication regarding this matter which is hugely disappointing. The fire door leading out from the accommodation was locked which is a significant worry as both windows in the room would not open.

This is a real pub - simple but gets the job done . Nothing fancy and Qweek is a hole in the wall village. Not super convient but as close to the Lizard as you can get and other popular locations nearby. A classic rural driving experience getting there .Priced right . The room was simple but clean . Lovely spot with the gweek creek 2 min walk lovely views fantastic bed and good shower plenty of water pressure can be a bit noisy early on but super quite bedtime will stop again

Apart from the bed being comfortable and the room and bathroom being clean. The remainder of the pub is pretty shabby. Meals were very poor too.

Lilly was brilliant. Place was clean. Original room not ready for us 2 1/2 hours after check in time. The room we were given, toilet seat didn’t fit toilet & it was loose. Had to ask for additional tea bags and room bin to be emptied. I’d suggest if your not going to service the room that’s fine, but at least put enough tea bags and milk to have a cuppa every morning your there and a bin big enough for the stay. Had one meal there mine was ok and my wife’s was sent back - personally I’d give eating there a miss.

All staff outstanding, very welcoming and went out of their way to assist if required. In my room, shower leaked from supply pipe (easy fix?) Loo seat 'Odd' shaped and wiggled!! (another easy fix) Steep steps up to the rear car park, not ideal for people with walking issues I wish they offered breakfast, although there is a shop about 20 yards away that does some excellent pastries. (Got to experience the sausage rolls!!!) Overall, yes I would go again.

Slightly off the beaten track made this a great place to unwind after my 3 hour drive down to Cornwall. Friendly staff, enough people in the bar to create a hubbub without it being noisy, good food and an inviting and comfortable bedroom meant if I'm down that way again I'll try and book in!

great location, really nice pub. Friendly staff, clean rooms. Had a small confusion with a new bar staff member on arrival, however the manager sorted things out very quickly later on his return. Very happy with my stay, can recommend to anyone.

we are certainly not ones to moan or complain but we stayed in 3 properties on our trip to cornwall,unfortunatly the black swan was not how it looked on the photo,very run down room,very basic for the money,No breakfast,no one there in the morning other than the cleaner.will not be going back,not worth the money at all
