Our room was very clean upon our arrival. The service that Katherine and Maria provided at front desk was fantastic. Staff in the restaurant were friendly, and attentive. The secure parking was convenient and reassuring. Loads of amenities for sports enthusiasts or those that just want to relax. Many different bird species on the site as well as some monkeys!

Wonderful place to stay the only thing that was unfortunate during our stay was that we didnt have access to the gym and the basketball court which was a big selling point for us when we were booking. It was all under construction and it would have been nice to know prior to arriving. Otherwise, beautiful location and very friendly staff!

We had an amazing time at Casa Del Rio. The staff were very friendly at check-in and during our stay. We enjoyed the different pools and the fun waterslide. The villa we stayed in was very comfortable and spacious and we really enjoyed having a grill on the deck and being able to self-cater some nights. We enjoyed the breakfast - there was a good selection on the menu and especially Diego was a fantastic waiter who looked after us and the kids really well. The location is really good - just a few minutes from the town but in a nice quiet location and close to the La Fortuna river and waterfall.

The restaurant is very good. Two pools and hot tubs were very nice. The water slide was crazy fast. Several outdoor areas to relax at.

This was the most beautiful hotel we have visited! The grounds were so well kept and staff is so attentive. We got a couples massage and it was amazing. The food and drinks are very good. I cannot say enough about our stay at Casa Del Rio.

Lovey lush property that cannot be beat. Plenty of activities, our 8 year old loved the water slide, soccer field and basketball court. There is also a paddle ball court but it was $60/hour extra. All other amenities are free. Free unlimited coffees from a machine in the gift shop was wonderful enjoyed plenty of cappuccinos! Perfect location, it is on a quiet, small side road just outside of town. We enjoyed walking down the road to get volcano pictures and the neighbourhood properties/farms. It is a safe area. The hotel itself is completely walled in, you cannot see inside the property at all until the wall slides open for you when coming and going. Staff are friendly and quick to help. They will drive you around the property on a golf cart if you like! Accommodation is individual villas, we had a luxury one with the whirlpool on the deck but they all looked private and concealed with natural flora. The room was modern and tidy. We requested house keeping clean the floor but unfortunately it was just swept or vacuumed, they don't seem to mop, the floor was filthy (made our feet black) the entire four nights we were there. I would say this is the only thing that could have been improved upon. We had a car, it was just a couple minutes to town by driving. We would absolutely stay here again as a base for exploring La Fortuna area. Pick this hotel if you want a quiet stay, immersed in plants! Restaurant had good food, free (delicious) breakfast and the servers work so hard.

Wonderful experience! From the front desk staff to the incredibly attentive restaurant staff, the hospitality was wonderful. Pros: beautiful property and rooms, helpful and friendly staff, good food and plenty of areas to explore. Truly, the property is absolutely gorgeous and blows any negative out of the water. Cons: lack of gym, numerous construction projects going on in multiple locations around the property (which did not impact our stay with excessive noise, but it did make the gym and several walking paths off-limits), and our specific room (“Gallo” - perfect arrangement for our family of 4!) was situated directly below the restaurant, so we woke up every morning to cheerful families starting breakfast right at 6 am. All in all, these didn’t outweigh the amazing time we had and wonderful employees we encountered. Would definitely stay again! Pura vida! ❤️

The perspective of Vulcan Arenal was perfect from this perfectly situated property. Great food ranging from Costa Rican to international, available throughout the day. I preferred their salt water pool to staying at a different resort which featured thermal pools- then we chose to drive back to eat here once more- so good. Just know in advance that you may not drive to your room; must take a jitney.

We stayed here very last minute. We were supposed to stay at Arenal Waterfall lodge for our 3 nights in La Fortuna and after the first night I said no way. Luckily the 1 king bed/1 twin bed with private jacuzzi was available for our other two nights and SAVED our trip! It was so luxurious! Everything we hated about the other hotel this hotel had done right. There were no bugs in our room, it was super modern with plenty of outlets and lights, and you still felt like you were in the jungle even though you were close to town, because of the luxurious gardening. Plus after a long day of hiking when you are too tired to move, there is a fabulous restaurant on site with the most attentive kind waiters! In addition, this hotel was as spread out as Arenal Waterfall lodge but the smart people at this hotel had golf carts to help people with all their luggage! It is so spread out that we were never once bothered by noise of another guest. We felt like we were secluded in our own piece of paradise! The room was spectacular. There was a separate toilet on one side of the bathroom, a separate shower (with waterfall/rain shower head) and a huge vanity in the middle. The bed had ample outlets. There are various light settings, black out curtains controlled by a remote, and the A/C was perfect. The highlight of this room was the private jacuzzi. sitting in it while it rained was something my 13 year old still talks about!

We spent 5 nights here. Resort was full, but quiet! Beautiful, clean and very safe. The ceviche was to die for! Alright we had a river view room… we could not see the river. It didn’t matter. You could hear it and the view no. The less was beautiful with all the trees and flowers, the birds singing and the goose cackling. So peaceful. Our family really enjoyed our stay.

The place is beautiful and we felt safe while staying. I understand that no matter where you stay in Costa Rica there will be bugs and such staying with you. We felt the resort could have put more effort in maintaining that the doors to the room closed without gaps that allow bugs to get in so easily. There was a large gap under the entrance door and also a gap between the sliding doors. At night we had to keep the lights off to not attract the critters into our room. I woke up each morning to ants being around my toiletries and toothbrush. The staff was helpful and responded quickly to any questions we had.
The place is beautiful and we felt safe while staying. I understand that no matter where you stay in Costa Rica there will be bugs and such staying with you. We felt the resort could have put more effort in maintaining that the doors to the room closed without gaps that allow bugs to get in so easily. There was a large gap under the entrance door and also a gap between the sliding doors. At night we had to keep the lights off to not attract the critters into our room. I woke up each morning to ants being around my toiletries and toothbrush. The staff was helpful and responded quickly to any questions we had.

Beautiful property and a very attentive staff. The property is well kept and the gardens are very beautiful with the Fortuna River running along the hotel. Breakfast was included and was delicious! The breakfast staff were amazing and front desk was great too!

Hotel Boutique Casa Del Rio exceeded our expectations. The property was clean, well-maintained, and the staff were exceptionally respectful and friendly. The restaurant service and food were outstanding. I visited with my family, and the warm hospitality and thoughtful accommodations made our stay truly memorable. The lush greenery, inviting pools, and relaxing spa created a peaceful atmosphere that perfectly complemented our visit to La Fortuna. We look forward to returning.

The entire hotel is made up of villas. They have 3 pools, basketball and soccer. Close to all the activities. Very nice hotel. We would stay there again.

This is a beautiful property with lush vegetation all around. The "rooms" are actually stand alone cabins. Our room with a King size bed and side bed (for a child or teen, who was not with us), was the largest room we have stayed in - at this price range. The hotel uses the efficiencies of the new digital age, ranging from communicating through What's App with the front desk to inserting the room card key to activate the electricity in the room.

It is so spread out that we were never once bothered by noise of another guest. We felt like we were secluded in our own piece of paradise! The room was spectacular. There was a separate toilet on one side of the bathroom, a separate shower (with waterfall/rain shower head) and a huge vanity in the middle. The bed had ample outlets. There are various light settings, black out curtains controlled by a remote, and the A/C was perfect. The highlight of this room was the private jacuzzi. sitting in it while it rained was something my 13 year old still talks about!

We loved our stay Casa Del Rio. Beautiful spacious room and secluded balcony. The food, presentation and bar were excellent. Diego and staff were amazing and knowledgeable. Semi private pools were quiet and relaxing. Highly recommend

This property was very close to all the restaurants and points of interest. We felt very safe as there was a guarded gate with a large security door. Our room (Machaca room) was very comfortable. I like how the AC unit is not blowing on us directly. The bathroom including shower was very large. There was a Smart TV in the room which allowed us to watch Netflix at night. The only complaints were there was no where to hang our cloths as the large closet only had shelves and there was no coffee creamer/whitener provided for the coffee in the room. However, there is complementary specialty coffee provided in the gift shop beside the reception desk (found that out on our last day). The breakfast was excellent and they even made us waffles and pancakes when we requested it. We swam in one of the pools and we were the only ones at the pool. It was very nice and secluded. I loved all the animals. We could see howler monkeys from our balcony. On the hotel site there were lots of geese and ducks. I would highly recommend this hotel.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Hotel property and grounds are quiet, secure and beautiful. Our room (Barracuda) is a very large two bedroom with plenty of space right above the river. Enjoyed morning and evenings on the patio with the river roaring in the background. Delicious daily breakfast included made for an easy start to each day. Great proximity to La Fortuna town and activities.

This Place is Incredible!! I feel like I’m staying in a Bird/Animal Sanctuary! It is so remote and you are surrounded by beautiful rainforest! Love that each room is it’s own separate building/villa!

Staff were excellent and grounds are gorgeous. Everything else was rough. Our room was extremely loud with river and animal noise. We couldn’t have a conversation in the room at all, anywhere, without yelling. We didn’t sleep the two nights we were there because it was so loud. Seriously, every night was like Bigfoot, a hyena and a dozen monkeys were partying all night, breaking branches, banging on the roof…the room condition also wasn’t great. The blinds and fans in the bedrooms didn’t work. There are bugs everywhere (normal for the area). We only had two days in the area and felt like they were ruined because we were so sleep deprived we couldn’t enjoy the area’s many activities. My daughter was sick (made worse by sleep deprivation) so we ordered some plain rice for her from room service, along with my dinner. My food was delivered (after over a hour) but hers never came. Finally, after two hours and many messages, it was delivered. I’ve stayed at hotels all over the world and am accustomed to the occasional noisy places but this noise couldn’t even be covered with a white noise machine on blast.

Their signature cocktails are quite delicious and very reasonably priced. Minor issues with our particular room: USB ports that did not work, but plenty of outlets if you have USB cubes. while there is loads of shelf storage there is no place to hang items other than a couple hooks in the bathroom. The biggest negative for us, since we are light sleepers, or the peacocks. They scream all day and all night. If this is not an issue for you you will have a wonderful time at this hotel. Our room was very clean upon our arrival. The service that Katherine and Maria provided at front desk was fantastic. Staff in the restaurant were friendly, and attentive. The secure parking was convenient and reassuring. Loads of amenities for sports enthusiasts or those that just want to relax. Many different bird species on the site as well as some monkeys!

Upon check in we were gold out room was not ready. We had to wait 30 min past check in. The staff was rude and acted u friendly and put out. the balcony overlooked a construction site on the premises. Toilet Leaked and comunication with staff poor. Restaurant was good.

The on site amenities are excellent including the restaurant. The hotel staff is attentive, helpful and very responsive. Id recommend Casa Del Rio to any couple of family in La Fortuna! This place is wonderful!!! The hotel is only about 5 years old, so everything is in great condition. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Camila and Maria at the front desk did a fantastic job arranging tours for us. José, Diego E., Diego H., and Axel were great at serving as both wait staff and bartenders. The food and drink is top notch, and I’m a fairly hard critic. We will be back. I’ve only been gone for a few hours and I miss it already.

The property is stunning, the service at the front desk was extremely helpful (thanks Camila!) The area within the gates of the hotel was fun to explore with multiple pools and a lago full of fish, and plenty of things to do without even leaving the property. The restaurant was incredible: the service of Diego, Diego, and Andres was superb and the food was always top notch. We loved the free breakfast that always started with fruit! We would stay in this place again in a heartbeat.

If you’re visiting the rainforest this is a must stay. The staff catered to our every need, the property is flawless and everyone made you feel like family. When we come back to C.R we will definitely be returning. I can’t say enough about how we lived this place.

Staff were attentive to any questions or issues we had and were there right away. We arrived in the dark and were told we would get a tour of the property the next day but never received that. We toured ourselves and the property is quite pretty, some construction happening while there. The restaurant was okay.. we had better food off the resort. The resort itself is gated which made it feel very safe and the rooms are very private which was nice!

We had an amazing time at Casa Del Rio. The staff were very friendly at check-in and during our stay. We enjoyed the different pools and the fun waterslide. The villa we stayed in was very comfortable and spacious and we really enjoyed having a grill on the deck and being able to self-cater some nights. We enjoyed the breakfast - there was a good selection on the menu and especially Diego was a fantastic waiter who looked after us and the kids really well. The location is really good - just a few minutes from the town but in a nice quiet location and close to the La Fortuna river and waterfall.

This place was perfect! It was around all the others resorts where it can be crowded. Check in was fast and easy. Resort is literally down the street from the La fortuna downtown area. Not like the other resorts. Restaurant was amazing. Food was delicious. I would definitely stay here again.

This property was bigger than I expected. Not really walkable, downtown la fortuna was about 15-20min away walking. Staff was very nice and friendly. It kind of sucked having to walk up a hill just to go eat breakfast go to the pool or leave the area in general but overall good experience, property was very nice maintained and you could see the volcano from the restaurant most days we were there too

Room was lovely, nice balcony, pool and hot tub were also lovely. A ton of plants, trees and flowers everywhere you look! Beautiful property. We stayed in a family villa which was perfect for our family of four. The on-site restaurant was delicious and the wait staff fantastic. Included breakfasts were excellent and the view of the volcano from the restaurant was stunning. We even ate there for dinner four nights out of our six as it was so convenient and had lots to choose from on the menu. The reception staff were excellent, they arranged our airport transfer, taxis into town and day trips. All in all a perfect trip. Already planning our next visit!

Lovely rooms with lots of animals on the property. Great pools and even a water slide for the kids. Breakfast was included and was excellent but service could be a bit slow. Comfortable beds and our suite had a kitchen and a deck which we made use of. Very friendly desk staff. I would recommend it

This place was very cool! We were surprised that it wasn’t just a room but a whole villa to ourselves. They don’t have a traditional check in or office so we found texting them with WhatsApp was the way to communicate. For anyone staying there I would just send them a communication before you get there to avoid any delay in getting in. Overall a beautiful place and I would highly recommend!
