Motel 6 East Syracuse, NY - Airport

A picture is worth a thousand words so I wish I could upload one. This property was under construction but that was not advertised when I booked it. I'm a commercial contractor and can understand a few things about what it takes, but the condition of the common areas was beyond egregious with safety hazards, cleanliness, and lack of general housekeeping. Frankly I'm surprised the listing was made public.

Front desk staff very polite. Exterior lighting very poor and property is under renovation inside- literally a construction site. Shockingly awful- this should be absolutely be noted on the website. Room was clean and functional, though not inviting or overly comfortable.

Had smoking rooms

Fire alarm went off 11 times in the course of 1/2 the time I was there. There wasn’t any opportunity for rest or anything else as the alarm is extremely loud and periodically went off! The staff had to inconvenience us several due to fire codes despite being cleared. It was the worst night ever in a hotel!

Room was clean, good sheets and bedding. Towels were worn and ripped. Outside parking area was trashy, overflowing trash can, cigarette butts everywhere, staff not friendly.

It is always great. I stay here every time I go through Syracuse. I make it a point to plan my trip with my overnight stay here. The staff is wonderful, the place is clean, the price is right, and they accept pets. I like that even if I'm pulling a trailer, I will have a place to park. There is not a lot around the area, but there is a 24-hour gas station convenience store that has some pretty good pizza.

This motel is in a nice quiet safe area as it's far from any real urban areas and it's close to I-81 and I-90. The only negatives are they are in the mist of a major reconstruction and an entire wing of the motel has been closed off for well over 6 months, I wish they would do away with the smoking rooms. Even staying in a non-smoking room you can smell the smoke (Especially the "skunk weed" pot smoke) coming from other rooms

Air conditioning unit was functioning but filthy. The metal bed frame was quite dusty. The bathtub surface was flaking. There was major construction in parts of the hotel.

Fairly clean and convenient however bed springs were uncomfortable and hotel didn’t have an carts to bring in luggage nor accessible doors from back of building.

The staff was wonderful to deal with. But wasnt informed of whole building under renovation!!. If your just going to stay over night, then you can live with it.

Nasty does not describe the room!!!! There was mold on the floor, we had to clean the toilet before we could use it because there was piss from the last person who used it still there. The floor was never swept and there was still stuff in the cupboards. When we went and told the front desk person we were checking out and got another hotel room, he went and checked the room and said there was nothing wrong with it. Oh I forgot to mention the m&m on top of the bed frame and poop looking stain on the wall.

Cockroach in the room. Very poorly cleaned.

Our room was extremely dirty(including the sheets and pillows). Terribly humid, walls and floor were wet due to humidity. Mold behind the beds and on the walls. Could not be transferred to another room or get reimboursed. Worst experience ever!!

It was just down right dirty molded distgusting never would I ever go there again I wouldn’t let my dog go there

When I first arrived to my room I noticed the tub was black with filth. After some easy scribbing with a sponge I brought it came out, the sink was also filthy. There were footprints and so much dust on floor. There’s absolutely NO way they clean the rooms between guest. I noticed two mini fridges in my room I opened one and was met with the foulest odor ever. There was a mysterious brown liquid at bottom on fridge. When I asked the front desk to remove it they gave me problems. Until finally it was removed and left in the hall in front of my room. When I asked for a broom and mop to clean the room myself . I was told they did NOT have access the housekeeping quarters. So I asked for a few extra towels as I was going to use ones provided to clean the floors, the two guys told me okay no problem. After waiting thirty mins for said towels and nothing I went downstairs to find them both just browsing their phones. A complete p00p show! Gave one star as 0 wasn’t an option! Should be closed down!!!!!

Smelled like marijuana, bugs in the room I wouldn’t let a dog stay overnight in this place.

They did Reno’s but the bathtub was disgustingly dirty, the sheets and pillows had stains on it. The rate was low but I guess you get what you pay for, I would definitely not be back.

Towels and Wash cloths were not clean as could be, some had stains, and i was constantly itching with bed bug bites. Disgusting.

Halls ways were not vacuumed walls had stains. Terrible smell in halls. Mattress was extremely dirty lots of stains, even the sheets were dirty. Looks like they were taken from the dump. Table not cleaned from previous people, stains. Bath tub had mold on drain. We refused first room on lower floor. Lobby floor was lobby floor and walls dirty. Was not worth the money. Would like money back.

Woke up to roaches running around everywhere

Upon arrival, I was given an accessibility room that the door didn't close, it was smelly, and didn't look clean. The front desk person changed my room to 144, that was much better. The put some type of wax on the floors and I nearly fell. The tub was peeling and the shower sucked bc the pressure was so low. I had to stand near the wall to shower. Room 130 is the best room but it was taken. Front desk personnel are always on their phone or outside smoking. Not a warm reception. I booked again an hope I get room 130. I travel there weekly and want an attentive person. I called for a late check in, the guy answered the phone didn't care. I had to ask to make sure they knew I was a late arrival. Unprofessional.

The beds were uncomfortable and the pillows were hard as a rock.

Friendly staff. Strong wifi. Heater / AC in room - adjustable. No carpet in the room which is a plus. Easy, well lit parking lot. Bathroom is very clean - more than enough towels :) only downside is no mattress protector but only a fitted sheet and one of the sheet had a weird stain on it … and strong smell of weed from some guests. Quiet enough tho - room well soundproof tho.

Location is good but the quality of the place leaves me not wanting to stay there again.

Hotel had no Wifi even though the signboard said Wifi available. Wifi worked only in the lobby and if you go little away from the lobby the Wifi does not work. Construction was happening in the area and the rooms smelled of chaulk. The Restroom stink. The sheets were torn or had torns. Only good thing about the place is the service provided. The office staff in the reception were very accommodative and tried to help us as much as they could which was not enough.

The place has been renovated since last year and felt cleaner and more attractive. Although the room was very humid, overall it was adequate.

this was a no-frills place for my stay in Syracuse, reminder to bring your own shampoo and hair dryer. But as a place to sleep, nice and clean, quiet.

This was a horrible experience. First, I did not get the room I paid for ahead of time. When I checked in, I was told if I didn’t want what they have that I can cancel my booking. I advised the price I paid was more than what they were offering. Nobody offered to refund my difference. I asked for extra pillows.. 90 minutes later, having gotten no pillows, I went back out to ask again and told him I would wait there as he went to get some. He handed me the pillows and I asked if I could get pillowcases.. he said “you want those too?” Last I knew they go hand in hand. Kind of like toilet paper in a bathroom. The floors were filthy, beer caps, food, soap bars. Etc. my husband had to fix our sink and our room phone didn’t work, not even a dial tone. The desk was advised of these as well. Went to take a shower, and the soap bar had been used and put back into the wrapper!! In two days, there were no happy guests, there were numerous complaints that we witnessed, and we watched one by one as they went across the street to the other hotel. They chuckled and smiled at every issue, but never wanted to make our experience better. I am mortified that I paid all that money, and got the worst possible service. Their groceries got delivered and sat on the floor out front for over 4 hours before we left for the day. Including milk and other items. Do not use those to make your coffee as you may get sick! Never again will I stay there and I will continue to let people know how it is there.

There is a sense of entitlement from one of the staff. They were complaining in front of guests regarding how their supervisor is not nice. But this staff had a really negative attitude, they were unfriendly, unhelpful and just not accommodating

Upon arrival, we found the desk clerk overworked and stretched to the limit, but polite and efficient. Overall, the place was shabby. Our sheets were discolored and paper thin, the bathroom worn, stained and tired. The place needs an overhaul and the staff needs support.

I stayed at this prooerty for a week and a half I payed and booked online then the front desk said I didn't have a reservation even though I showed them confirmation of payment so ended up paying twice then I lit a incent in my room because it smelled they had a problem with the alarm was going off for 2 days so they tried telling me it was because I lit my incent but i wasn't even there when it started going off it was 1 am n I was forced to leave they called police on me and made me leave even though police inspected room and said it wasn't coming from my room there was no smoke no nothing the front desk and management were very rude in how they handled the situation beware they take your money and kick u out

There is very limited shopping in this area, and the cost of cabs ane ubers is quite high, and the ubers are unreliable.

The room itself was acceptable, considering the value-based pricing. While it was clean overall, there were some noticeable flaws in the bathroom. Firstly, there was mold growth around the faucet area of the bathtub. Secondly, although the tub floor had been cleaned, it was not thoroughly done. Despite these issues, the water pressure was adequate. However, it is important to note that essential amenities such as shampoo, body wash, and a hair dryer were not provided. Guests are advised to bring their own. The staff members were friendly and accommodating. It should be mentioned that breakfast was not available, with only coffee being provided. It smell when you enter the room and I try to turn on a/c and fan to solve the smell. The building location doesn't feel safe.I have to spend a lot of money for taxi to take me there.

Good motel for one night near the NYS Thruway!

Clean with lots of parking space. Had microwave and mini fridge but no microwaveable cups. And reservation was cancelled two days before arrival with no notification from motel nor Expedia.

I like the room size. The facility is okay. The microwave is located at the lobby. I would say bring your own hair blower, iron, and tissue. Hot water for coffee/tea/instant noodles is also available at the lobby (ask the receptionist). Bring mug for your coffee/tea as the styrofoam cup is small. There is bar soap but no shampoo/conditioner They provide towels which is good. Would i stay here again? Absolutely 👍

No lobby really. No chairs in the room, no breakfast, Window looks right out into cars parked,no view.Room smells musty

I had the most horrible experience getting a hotel in NY, so much so I will never return. I'm used to all hotels (that I've ever stayed at my whole life) offer basics of an alarm clock, outlets by the bed, a microwave, coffee maker etc. I was so desperate for a place to stay so we didn't have to sleep in the car again, so i landed on this one. Extremely overpriced, didn't have any of the amenities that i listed above not even a clock!! No breakfast either but they had a microwave/coffee in the lobby. Not everyone wants to leave their room though. The pillows sucked and the bed was uncomfortable. It squeaked loudly every time we moved. No comforter, just a thin regular blanket on the bed. Unless you have a lot of money to stay in the nice hotels, don't visit New york
