10/10 for this property!! We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this hotel. The staff were polite and welcoming. Our room was exactly as described, was spacious, clean and comfortable. There is a restaurant on site where we had dinner which was cooked to perfection. Breakfast was delicious with a wide range of options to choose from. Free parking is available on site.

Nice cabins unfortunately there is no ability to park near the more expensive upscale cabins hence it means carrying your heavy suitcases in the pouring rain from the main car park all the way to your cabin. Not ideal!!

Wouldn’t recommend!! At the price you are paying, you should receive enough hot water for 2 people to shower- we had hot water for maybe one 10 minute shower- therefore I was not able to shower- not worth the price for failed basic amenities

Delightful property with amazing views out onto lakes, Icelandic ponies and scenery. Restaurant had great choices allowing guests to choose cheaper options or something a bit more special. I chose a bit more special and it was delicious and well presented. Staff are friendly and kind. Would definitely recommend. Our heated towel rail was marked out of order which was a bit disappointing so hope the hotel can get this fixed for next guest.

service is bad. rude and empathetic people. The chef behaves as if he were at the helm of a Michelin, and the staff is not up to par with what this hotel once was. The water isn’t enough for two people. And the bath heater was just one decoration. Tragic!

뜨거운물이 물탱크를 데우는 방식이라 너무 많이 쓰면 다시 뜨거운 물이 나오는데 시간이 좀 걸립니다. 눈이와서 오로라는 못 봤지만 시설도 좋고 깔끔하네요. 추천합니다. 조식도 깔끔합니다.

I loved everything about this hotel (staff, breakfast, room, view) and really wanted to give 5 stars like most other people. Unfortunately I did not like the hot water tank in the room. The shower itself was lovely, but the water tank seemed to only have enough hot water in for 1 person to shower, before needing hours to reheat. Very disappointing for two people staying who really enjoy their showers after a long day hiking.

This place was amazing, the people, room and included breakfast was fantastic. We are planning to return in the summer and will 100% be booking our stay @ Magma. The rooms were clean, modern and spacious. We loved this place!

Das Hotel besteht aus kleinen Häuschen, die sich wunderschön in die Landschaft schmiegen. Leider hatte in unserem Zimmer die Gardine Löcher und im Bad waren unterhalb der Toilette Schimmel(?)Flecken. Instandhaltungsarbeiten werden offensichtlich nicht sorgfältig ausgeführt. Das trübte den eigentlich tollen Anblick. Das Frühstück war ok. Man bezahlt hier wohl hauptsächlich die Lage/den Ausblick. Fazit: Viel zu teuer für das was man bekommt.

Magma Hotel was a welcomed reprieve from the pouring rain and windy weather during our stay. The room was perfect. Beautifully furnished, immaculately clean, with all the amenities one could need for a short stay. Unfortunately, the area had gotten a lot of rain and our patio door had a leak. While we did have water across the floor along the outer wall, the issue was quickly resolved as best as possible by the staff. The rooms were reasonably priced for a quiet stay with a countryside view - we'd happily stay again should we return to the area!

Das Hotel hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Die Zimmer waren in kleinen Hütten, wie auf den Bildern abgebildet. Unser Zimmer war sauber und sehr schön. Das Abendessen war sehr gut. Das Frühstück war gut. Wir würden wieder kommen.

There was nothing about this property that we did not like. From the quiet location, to the quality of the food at dinner and breakfast, to the cleanliness and amenities of the room, to the views outside our window and our own patio area of the immediate countryside and beyond. Our stay was truly wonderful and we were only sorry it was for one night as we were on a tour of the ring road. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Absolutely loved it.

Amazing place. Cabin was clean, spacious and nicely appointed. Lots of space travel items. Bed was really comfortable. Restaurant was great and staff were helpful, friendly and professional. Easy access to Highway 1 and nearby sights. Great stay!

We wish we could have stayed here longer. Our cabin faced the lake and we had a view of the northern lights from bed. Breakfast was included and was very good. The room was extremely nice and comfortable. We were surprised to find a mini frig in there as well.

So incredibly comfortable and peaceful. Beautiful view. They thought of every possible comfort in the room including heated floors, our own water heater. They started breakfast early for us because we had a morning tour. We even forgot drinks in the frig, went back in the afternoon and they saved them for us. Incredible customer service.

We loved our stay at the Magma Hotel. It was serene and made us feel like we were truly experiencing the calm of Iceland. The cabins are a good size with stunning views, the beds were super comfy, and they provide binoculars which we loved since there were so many unique birds in the pond we overlooked! The staff was very welcoming and helpful which was reassuring since the location is decently far from a city/town (Kirkjubaejarklaustur has a small grocery store but the hours are a bit limited and it's the only town for miles). Having breakfast included is a luxury and was very convenient before starting our long days of exploring. There were a lot of different options. The location is also convenient as it allows you to be an hour closer to Vatnajokull National Park than Vik. We would definitely stay here again!

Our room was very nice and clean with a great view. The included breakfast had many delicious options. We expressed our interest in seeing the aurora borealis and they went out of their way to call us that night to tell us to go outside when it was visible.

Really nice place! Only problem is the front desk won’t be available 24h. So if you need anything, you are not going to find them. The other thing is their door lock, which is very challenging. The last they should prepare some cup and box for customers who don’t have time for breakfast to have a packed one.

Amazing place. Cabin was clean, spacious and nicely appointed. Lots of space travel items. Bed was really comfortable. Restaurant was great and staff were helpful, friendly and professional. Easy access to Highway 1 and nearby sights. Great stay!

We loved our stay at the Magma Hotel. It was serene and made us feel like we were truly experiencing the calm of Iceland. The cabins are a good size with stunning views, the beds were super comfy, and they provide binoculars which we loved since there were so many unique birds in the pond we overlooked! The staff was very welcoming and helpful which was reassuring since the location is decently far from a city/town (Kirkjubaejarklaustur has a small grocery store but the hours are a bit limited and it's the only town for miles). Having breakfast included is a luxury and was very convenient before starting our long days of exploring. There were a lot of different options. The location is also convenient as it allows you to be an hour closer to Vatnajokull National Park than Vik. We would definitely stay here again!

Magma Hotel is comprised of a group of individual bungalows in a beautiful setting. The accommodations are beautifully decorated and spotless. The surroundings and the lake evoke relaxation, peacefulness and privacy. I am hoping to return there some day.

We loved our stay at Magma. It's a beautiful property with lovely rooms and restaurant. Breakfast was fairly standard but the beautiful dining room made it even better. The location is great for a south coast road trip. Would definitely stay here again!

The individual cabins look like monopoly houses from the outside, but the full wall of windows inside offers a fantastic view of the surrounding area. Inside are modern furnishings. The restaurant in the reception house offered a delicious dinner, and the buffet breakfast the next morning was great.

Delightful property with amazing views out onto lakes, Icelandic ponies and scenery. Restaurant had great choices allowing guests to choose cheaper options or something a bit more special. I chose a bit more special and it was delicious and well presented. Staff are friendly and kind. Would definitely recommend. Our heated towel rail was marked out of order which was a bit disappointing so hope the hotel can get this fixed for next guest.

This was our favorite hotel in Iceland. The views are spectacular and the cottages are just beautiful, great design, quality and spacious. The breakfast has definitely room for improvement, the dinner was not so great. (premium ingredients but lacking flavors). The personal was professional and friendly. Thank You for our stay.

Beautiful rooms in small standalone buildings, gorgeous windows and a view of a peaceful pond. Would love to have had more than one night. But for dinner try someplace else, wasn't very good. Other options in town.

I was disappointed with my stay at Magma Hotel, especially considering the premium price. We were allocated a room with an accessible bathroom even though we did not request one. The shower had no door or proper barrier, causing water to flood much of the bathroom floor after every shower. Light entered through the glass panel beside the entrance door, and the room could not be fully darkened in the summer. The water view is quite far away and the experience was not as expected. The hotel enforces a strict 4:00 PM check-in policy. Breakfast was mediocre, with a fairly limited selection.
