Beautiful beach view, nice and clean room, comfy bed. Just a short walk to a beautiful beach. Indoor pool, sauna and outdoor pool was nice. Lots of options for things to do including a games room and theatre.

Amazing property with great views! This resort has thought of everything. Comfortable beds and pillows, great views, very clean, excellent amenities including indoor and outdoor pool, movie theatre and more. Walk to Summerville Beach ranked number 2 in Nova Scotia. The Grill was fabulous 5 out of 5. We had 4 meals there all were exceptional and couldn’t have been better. Also with amazing views as it overhangs the beach. Will definitely be back to this lovely property.

Great location and amazing facilities, my family and I explored nearby Summerville Beach (direct across the road) as well as the restaurant with amazing ocean front views. The movie theatre was a big plus for my kids.

The restaurant was very good, with a great view. Trying to figure out where to check in was an ordeal. It's in a tiny building on the opposite side of a dangerous road. Pulling out from the check-in side of the road, we were about to be hit by a truck because of the bushes in the way. Also, there is very little parking for the restaurant. The room was fine, but the bathroom had nowhere to put your things.

I cannot in good faith give less than 5 stars because even small issues such as our door lock not latching were addressed immediately by the most kind and attentive staff. We had an excellent stay, the rooms were great, the beds were comfy, the sound of the ocean was perfect. There is constructing happening to expand the resort, but other than an occasional backup beeping, it didn’t impede our stay and we barely noticed. The club house is a great space for rainy days, the outdoor pool was clean and temperature was warm.

We had a horrible stay because my wife broke her foot at the indoor pool. The handrail into the pool was broken, but not visibly. It swung out when she gripped it. She fell badly and banged her foot on the concrete steps into the pool. I wrote to management, told the front desk and called several days later. Each time i reached out i was told management would be in touch. That was several weeks ago and we haven't heard a word. We are not looking for anything other than an acknowledgement and an apology. I will make sure i tell everyonecwho asks Not to stay at the Quarterdeck. Their management is rude and insensitive. We will never go near the place again.

Amazing resort, the room was spotless and that view! Incredible. Staff were all friendly and you could tell they are proud to work here. My room was on the hill across the street but a quick walk to the beach. Food and service at the Grill was fantastic. My first visit but definitely not my last.

I'm deeply sorry for the experience reflected in this review. The location is stunning, with a beautiful beach, lovely surroundings, and nice rooms. However, our room had a strong sewer-like odor. Initially, I thought it was something else, but after checking the bathroom and searching for a possible dead rodent, we closed all the windows, and the smell eventually faded. The parking lot also had an overwhelming stench that was nearly unbearable. While at the beach, we occasionally noticed a similar odor, raising concerns about possible sewage dumping. We stayed in a beachfront room, but our last night was in a room across the road, where we experienced no smell issues. Despite the beauty of the area, I likely wouldn’t return due to these concerns.

I would suggest that the over rated hype related to this place is directly related to its location on a beautiful beach. It includes a nice restaurant but is otherwise highly overrated for high priced accommodations and meals that are nothing extra. The room includes a well used love seat with dirty arms, an annoying gang of house flies and a leaky toilet. The power was out for several hours but we didn’t hear from anyone or see anyone other than a few unfriendly workers around the property upon departure. No housekeeping staff were visible. Our phone flashed red continuously but we were advised that it was malfunctioning and not messages. It is easy to be mislead by website room descriptions and locations and the restaurant appeared to be fully booked online so had to call several times. It wasn’t busy at all other than a booking of several people with reservations on the second floor who drew our waiter away. Disappointing.

Beautiful property; comfort was not 5 star. Room was cool, getting an extra blanket was like pulling teeth and the water in the shower was warm… not hot. For the price I was hoping for the comfort as well.

The hotel presents itself as a beachfront property when, in fact, only a small number of rooms are “on” the beach. Also, the door lock was ripped of the door so all we had was the cheap handle lock. Felt a little nervous about that.

When you book what you think is a very nice hotel!! I think I expect a little more!! Jumped in the shower quick cause we arrived at 5 after a long day flying from Alberta. We had dinner reservation for 6. I went to grab a towel and there were 2 hanging up, BOTH DIRTY AS SEEN IN PICTURE, GROSS, took them to the front desk and all that was said, was “I’ll get you a couple of new ones” Couldn’t control the temp in the room, it was freezing!! Then jump in the shower in the morning, they have bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Instead of pulling mine out that was already packed up, I jumped in the shower thinking I would use them. And lo and behold THEY WERE ALL EMPTY!!! absolutely unacceptable!!!

We loved the Grille, staff and food. We loved our room. Very clean and comfortable with a gorgeous view of the ocean. Our only complaint, we were in the 3 story section facing the ocean on the 2nd floor. (219) and the person or persons occupying 319 were very heavy walkers. Stomping all day long. The rooms a small enough, I don't know where they were going, back and forth it seemed. It stopped before time for bed, but all day long. I did not complain to the front desk staff. It is very difficult to ask someone to change how they walk. We will definitely be back; but would be sure to ask for the lovely little rooms along the water with no one above. Thank you for a wonderful weekend.

We lived everything about our stay, the room was lovely and the little balcony was perfect to enjoy the view. We had a wonderful dinner in the Deck restaurant and would highly recommend staying at this property, we hope to return

Booked this reservation through Expedia which indicated that it was pet friendly. When I chose the room it did not provide any indication whether the room I chose was pet friendly. When I arrived I discovered that I did not get the room I selected it was much smaller with no kitchenette but still had to pay the rate for the original room. That seems to be an Expedia issue. Also they provided a TV but there were only about 5 channels available and they didn’t provide any information on what they were.

We were 2nd floor in a villa, amazing view. The beach is gorgeous. Our room was very clean with a small kirchenette. The Grill restaurant is on site. It has very good service and food. Be sure to make a reservation. A great 60th celebration!

Beautiful spacious clean room and food at the grill was amazing. Shoutout to Heidi at the grill for great service. Only thing is the front desk never answers, but does call back when you leave a message.

Front desk is great! But I checked in with kids and tried to do takeout from The Grill that first night? No way! Phoned over around 5:30 pm and was told they were so busy they’ve had to announce no more takeout! Well, there’s only limited availability in the area, so that was very disappointing. My bad I guess I should’ve studied the menu and preordered…but I grew wiser and reserved for other dinners and breakfasts in advance and things went great! The food and staff are both delightful!!

We had a horrible stay because my wife broke her foot at the indoor pool. The handrail into the pool was broken, but not visibly. It swung out when she gripped it. She fell badly and banged her foot on the concrete steps into the pool. I wrote to management, told the front desk and called several days later. Each time i reached out i was told management would be in touch. That was several weeks ago and we haven't heard a word. We are not looking for anything other than an acknowledgement and an apology. I will make sure i tell everyonecwho asks Not to stay at the Quarterdeck. Their management is rude and insensitive. We will never go near the place again.

Beautiful beach view, nice and clean room, comfy bed. Just a short walk to a beautiful beach. Indoor pool, sauna and outdoor pool was nice. Lots of options for things to do including a games room and theatre.

The restaurant was very good, with a great view. Trying to figure out where to check in was an ordeal. It's in a tiny building on the opposite side of a dangerous road. Pulling out from the check-in side of the road, we were about to be hit by a truck because of the bushes in the way. Also, there is very little parking for the restaurant. The room was fine, but the bathroom had nowhere to put your things.

Overall, we had a very good stay here. The room was spacious, very clean, and had a beautiful ocean view. Housekeeping was prompt and responsive whenever we needed anything, and the front desk staff were all friendly and welcoming — really appreciated that. A few downsides: the on-site restaurant had limited options, opened relatively late, and the food selection was small with just average taste and value for money. There aren’t many other dining choices nearby either, so you’ll need to drive a fair distance for alternatives. As for entertainment, the facilities were quite basic — the "movie room," board games area, and indoor swimming pool felt a bit underwhelming. While we understand that most guests likely come for the beach and surrounding nature, it would be nice if the indoor amenities could be made a bit more engaging, especially since they’re already part of the offering. That said, we would still recommend this resort. It's a great stopover for anyone exploring the southern coast of Halifax — including the many scenic beaches, coastal parks, and charming small towns along the way.

We lived everything about our stay, the room was lovely and the little balcony was perfect to enjoy the view. We had a wonderful dinner in the Deck restaurant and would highly recommend staying at this property, we hope to return

We got there late so didn't have a chance to try the pool or hot tub, but had a great dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and had a nice walk on the beach/ will definitely be back.

We were 2nd floor in a villa, amazing view. The beach is gorgeous. Our room was very clean with a small kirchenette. The Grill restaurant is on site. It has very good service and food. Be sure to make a reservation. A great 60th celebration!

This was our second visit and it was very nice, clean and super friendly. The pool is clean with nice lounge chairs to chill. We only realized this year there is a game room with a movie theatre and a great place if you are meeting with friends. Restaurant was great, staff very attentive and food is superior.

Great resort! I was a little confused on where to go because it is spread out over a large area but once I got to the registration desk, I was well taken care of! In fact, the desk agent offered me a room on a higher floor for better views, escorted me to the building, and toured me through the room to make sure it all worked for me. Top tier service, thank you!
