First of all, our digital key did not unlock our door. Housekeeping had to open it and the key they used ended up getting stuck in the door. They then called maintenance and it took about 45-60 minutes for them to fix this door issue. My friend and I sat on the bed as they did this and received no accommodations. There also seemed to be no AC in the rooms. A housekeeper knocked on the door in the morning before check out and we stated we were still in the room loud enough for her to hear, yet she proceeded to still unlock the door and try to come in. The cherry on top is there was no one at the front desk, and when we called to ask about AC, the manager or whoever answered the phone said no one was in the building to help us. Overall this hotel is in a shady part of town and has horrible service.

The room has no air con so it was boiling all the time. The windows open but no air flow. The area is sketchy sketchy sketchy!!! No single female should stay in this area. As for the place. Staff were friendly. Constantly cleaning. I would not stay here again purely based off the area surrounding it. Just unfortunately far too many homeless, mentally ill, and drug users on the streets surrounding this hotel.

Honestly don’t know why this place has such high ratings. Mission street and the block immediately surrounding this hotel has homelessness and rampant drug use. You will see drug use, the most filthy and smelly conditions, and is generally unsafe. The last day I experienced what a few others did where the virtual key stopped working. I was unable to get back into the building despite more than an hour left until my checkout time. Calling the hotel number no one answers, and you can’t leave a message as the mailbox is full. I had to wait until someone else left and tailgate in to grab my stuff and leave. Inside the hotel a a bit rundown but overall ok. The bathrooms are very small and are cleaned once a day, which depending on usage is ok or not enough. The showers were very clean and well maintained. The back patio “ambiance” is a joke.. you hear homeless yelling randomly and the smell of urine.

The hotel is close to both the train station and the bus stop. Although you should be careful about the safety of the area, I didn't feel particularly unsafe during the day. The shower and toilet facilities are shared, but well maintained and clean. They use electronic keys via a smartphone app, which is convenient. Overall, it's budget friendly and I'm very satisfied with my stay.

Not at all the properties fault, but we had a street-facing room and the noise was from the street below was incredibly loud and made it quite hard to fall asleep. There was also a very loud squeaky bed in the room above us. We did however feel very safe and secure. The rooms and shared bathrooms are kept clean. There is a communal kitchen area with complimentary water, tea, and coffee, which was nice.

The staff was nice, there was one thing that really made the stay uncomfortable - there was NO HEAT. I got back to the hotel around midnight to sleep and I couldn't see any control for the heat, there was no staff, and I had to wear my clothes in bed so I could stop shivering. I looked everywhere for a control of the heat, but there was none. The hallway was also very cold. The other thing is they have 100s of shampoo and conditioner but no body wash or soap.

I really enjoyed my stay at 1906 Mission - it was easy to find, in a convienent part of town, the showers/bathrooms were always clean, and I didn't have an issue with the electronic locks until the last day. Check out isn't until 11 AM, but the app access stops at 10:30 AM. I went across the street to grab a coffee and was locked out of the building for a good 10 minutes until a member of the cleaning staff heard me pounding on the door. Overall great stay, but getting locked out caused a lot of unnecessary stress, would be great if the app worked until 11 AM on check out day.

Awful. I don’t know why every review keeps saying it’s clean cause it’s NOT. Stains on carpet, spots on walls and ceiling AND on the sheets. From my room I can see people in the shared shower which also has algae on the floors. Does that make me want to go take a shower? Absolutely not. Not to mention the extremely loud construction that starts at 5am so if you want sleep this is not the place to go. NOT like the pictures on the website. Also no elevator so if you have heavy luggage; good luck.

I figured that this would be a cheap hostel-style replacement. Granted it's no frills, but it's location is wonderful, the room was clean and the shared bathrooms were not really "shared" but rather individual use bathrooms that were shared with the floor. There were tons of clean towels and a very comfy bed. Everything exceeded my expectations.

Sketchy location with lots of street noise at night from people screaming below window of room 302 up until past 4am. Carpet of room 302 full of cuestionable dark stains. Pillow cases stained dirty but were replaced for clean ones. Mattress was comfortable and rest of room adequate although power outlet above headboard didn’t work.

Clean and comfortable rooms. Common kitchen, bathrooms and showers were all clean and well stocked. Easy access to transit and walking to Castro/mission. Only downside was the intensity or drug use and human struggle taking place outside and on surrounding blocks.

the property itself is great. everything is clean, the bed is reasonably comfortable. the room is a little small but that doesn't matter much. the showers are shared, but they're still clean all the time, and I've never had to wait for one. the area around the property is kind of sketchy though.

I was worried about staying here after reading some review de área being unsafe and dangerous. The week I stayed in January 2023 was unusually extra extra expensive in San Francisco due to a big conference taking over hotel reservations all over the city si this was my only choice.. the experience was very good. The area is not unsafe, some people selling second hand stuff in the street but not threatening in any way. It’s very close to the subway and there are amazing shops, restaurants and the Roxie film theatre just 2 blocks away. The rooms are small and you have to share a bathroom but in the whole week I stayed there I never once had to wait. The bathroom is spotless and there are plenty of towels and shower gel at all times. It’s almost instantly cleaned after every use. I was very pleasantly surprised. Free coffee in the morning. I’d strongly recommend that you download the key app in advance. It was a seamless experience for me, but I had to send a WhatsApp message on the day to get my contactless key activated. Also make sure you take your phone to the bathroom as otherwise you won’t be able to get back into your room. Make sure you have plenty of battery before returning at night because you need the phone to access hotel

There were a couple times where the other guests left behind a bit of a mess in between housekeeping visits or were inconsiderate but that is nothing against the property or staff. What I didn't like was the street the property was on and the immediate area. There were quite a few homeless individuals in front of the front door and nearby periodically. The sidewalk out front is basically a flea market on the weekends for a block and a half in either direction, where you literally have to step over and around people and their stuff spread out all over the ground. It smelled and was dirty, with trash all over the street and sidewalk, and we felt uncomfortable walking to and from the property.

The room and property are nice and comfortable, and I was very impressed with the shared bathroom facilities, which were kept immaculate and well-stocked. But don't get the a room overlooking the street, as there is nearly constant loud noise from cars and music players.

Sketchy location with lots of street noise at night from people screaming below window of room 302 up until past 4am. Carpet of room 302 full of cuestionable dark stains. Pillow cases stained dirty but were replaced for clean ones. Mattress was comfortable and rest of room adequate although power outlet above headboard didn’t work.

the property itself is great. everything is clean, the bed is reasonably comfortable. the room is a little small but that doesn't matter much. the showers are shared, but they're still clean all the time, and I've never had to wait for one. the area around the property is kind of sketchy though.

Such a cool, weird, cozy hotel. We never saw any staff members, but someone picked up the phone immediately when I had a question about parking. The facility was quiet, and the beds were very comfortable. I would definitely stay again.

First of all, our digital key did not unlock our door. Housekeeping had to open it and the key they used ended up getting stuck in the door. They then called maintenance and it took about 45-60 minutes for them to fix this door issue. My friend and I sat on the bed as they did this and received no accommodations. There also seemed to be no AC in the rooms. A housekeeper knocked on the door in the morning before check out and we stated we were still in the room loud enough for her to hear, yet she proceeded to still unlock the door and try to come in. The cherry on top is there was no one at the front desk, and when we called to ask about AC, the manager or whoever answered the phone said no one was in the building to help us. Overall this hotel is in a shady part of town and has horrible service.

Honestly don’t know why this place has such high ratings. Mission street and the block immediately surrounding this hotel has homelessness and rampant drug use. You will see drug use, the most filthy and smelly conditions, and is generally unsafe. The last day I experienced what a few others did where the virtual key stopped working. I was unable to get back into the building despite more than an hour left until my checkout time. Calling the hotel number no one answers, and you can’t leave a message as the mailbox is full. I had to wait until someone else left and tailgate in to grab my stuff and leave. Inside the hotel a a bit rundown but overall ok. The bathrooms are very small and are cleaned once a day, which depending on usage is ok or not enough. The showers were very clean and well maintained. The back patio “ambiance” is a joke.. you hear homeless yelling randomly and the smell of urine.

My stay was very clean and comforting. The staff and management were very friendly and accommodating to my needs. I absolutely loved it there. If you don't mind staying in a hostel like environment with shared restrooms, showers and a community kitchen. This is the place to stay.

The hotel is close to both the train station and the bus stop. Although you should be careful about the safety of the area, I didn't feel particularly unsafe during the day. This is not a hotel. It’s a long stay hostel. Can’t check your bags, no reception. Couldn’t even use their lockers to store my bags. Was ok, just be prepared that it’s not a hotel. The surrounding area is pretty scary. Always get a cab.

I was worried about staying here after reading some review de área being unsafe and dangerous. The week I stayed in January 2023 was unusually extra extra expensive in San Francisco due to a big conference taking over hotel reservations all over the city si this was my only choice.. the experience was very good. The area is not unsafe, some people selling second hand stuff in the street but not threatening in any way. It’s very close to the subway and there are amazing shops, restaurants and the Roxie film theatre just 2 blocks away. The rooms are small and you have to share a bathroom but in the whole week I stayed there I never once had to wait. The bathroom is spotless and there are plenty of towels and shower gel at all times. It’s almost instantly cleaned after every use. I was very pleasantly surprised. Free coffee in the morning. I’d strongly recommend that you download the key app in advance. It was a seamless experience for me, but I had to send a WhatsApp message on the day to get my contactless key activated. Also make sure you take your phone to the bathroom as otherwise you won’t be able to get back into your room. Make sure you have plenty of battery before returning at night because you need the phone to access hotel

The room cleaning was excellent and, generally speaking, was a quiet stay. The only challenges was sharing a bathroom with the whole floor as well as not having amenities like breakfast and a personal refrigerator. Not at all the properties fault, but we had a street-facing room and the noise was from the street below was incredibly loud and made it quite hard to fall asleep. Clean amenities, bathroom, shower, common areas. I was traveling with a bicycle and I later found out I couldn’t keep it in the room. So I was allowed to store it in the patio which was amazing.

1. It’s not a hotel, but a nice hostel. There were a few shared bathrooms and shower rooms for so many units on one floor. They are cleaning every day but still people are making those dirty so quickly. Some people didn’t even flush water. Some people didn’t wear clothes to go to restrooms. Such a hostel vibe. Just be aware of that 2. Space is very tight. One room is for one person. We were two unfortunately and there was not enough space to open our luggages. Definitely no place to sit and rest. Its a room with a bed. Very tight. 3. They have their app replacing the physical keys and while we were traveling around, we were always concerned about having no battery to open all the doors. We bought an extra battery for this reason. Just letting you know before you book. 4. Always homeless people on the street, in front of the hotel door. Of course, they don’t bother you much, but there were always more than 5 people near the main door, and hundreds, literally hundreds of homeless people some blocks away from the hotel. Make sure to come back early or be with a group.
