Papillon Echo Beach

This hotel was lovely, the rooms were huge and had a massive bathroom, the hotel offers three pools, this was nice to cool down on a hot afternoon. There is a cafe in the lobby where you also get a free welcome drink, all of the staff were really helpful and super friendly at the hotel. The hotel is in a great location a few minutes walk from the beach, many really good resturants and shops nearby and beach clubs are a short drive.

Das Hotel ist gut gelegen in der Nähe des Strandes. Nahe vom la Brisa, Beach Club. Ein Besuch dort ist zu empfehlen. Die Zimmer sind schön und die Pools und die ganze tropische Anlage laden zum entspannwn ein. Frühstück ok.

Probably the best value of any hotel where I’ve ever stayed. It’s a three minute walk to a beautiful beach and they have three lovely pools. And the rooms are enormous. We had an incredible time here I couldn’t recommend it anymore. And their restaurant is also excellence.

The pool area is okay but nothing fancy - breakfast is cheap but not anything wow. But their normal menu is really good and cheap!

Un séjour axé surf , emplacement idéal, à quelques mètres à pieds de la plage de surf . Personnel très souriant et disponible, la piscine est trouble et peu engageante pour la baignade, j’ai eu une chambre solo côté route , très bonne literie, douche propre et eau chaude , seul problème et de taille , de l’autre côté de la route un bar avec concert et musique très forte le soir et tard dans la nuit , impossible de dormir, sauf avec des bouchons d’oreilles … Parking pour de scooter sécurisé devant l’hôtel .

Great place to stay to explore canguu , very close to beach , staff are amazing , friendly and helpful . Clean rooms nice pool nice gardens ,great little restaurant , be aware its easy to over eat on the buffet breakfast , requiring a long nap by the pool😂 Would highly recommend this very place,well priced for the area . Though the property is a little tired, overall it was a wonderful stay in a great area. I would recommend as it’s close to restaurants and the beach. The pool area is clean tidy and refreshing.

The hotel has a good service and the location is very close to the beach. It is also surrounded by lots of restaurants and bars. However, the hotel is a bit rundown and lacking facility. The pool is also very small and dirty. If you don't spend tons of time at the hotel, this is a good place to book. However, if you wanna chill longer at the hotel, it is not the most comfortable place to stay.

I’ve always stayed at Papillon Echo Beach whenever I visit, as my frequent spa place is nearby. Canggu has grown a lot more vibrant over the years & it’s so much more convenient with lots of offerings (cafes, restaurants, bars, beach clubs) nearby. The bed is very comfortable & good room size. Floor is concrete which means no risk of dust mites & quite clean. Very good value for money! A small flaw now at the hotel is that there is major construction right beside the hotel, so you might get hammering, knocking & talking sounds from 8am. The pillow casing & sheets are slightly stained, but this doesn’t bother me as I use my own sheets & travel pillow. Hotel sheets smell nice thou.

Wir beginnen mit dem Positiven und das sind leider nur 3 Dinge: 1. das Bett war extrem gemütlich und wenn wir geschlafen haben, dann sehr gut. 2. das Personal war freundlich. 3. war das Frühstück für balinesische Verhältnisse in Ordnung. Jetzt zu dem Negativen und das ist eine lange Liste: Das Hotel ist für seinen Preis (ca 50€ pro Nacht) überhaupt nicht wert. Es gibt 3 kleine Pools (alle identisch und einfallslos) umgeben von Zimmern, welche sich direkt um den Pool befinden, dadurch kann man sich weder Sonnen noch hat man Platz. Die Zimmer an sich sind geschmacklos und leider sieht alles sehr abgenutzt aus. Zudem ist das Bad sehr unpraktisch gebaut und die Zimmer sind hellhörig. Für das Geld haben wir deutlich besseres und vor allem Unterkünfte mit Stil und Liebe zum Detail bekommen. Die Lage des Hotels hat sich m.E. mittlerweile leider zum als equivalent vom Ballermann auf Mallorca entwickelt (wir waren vor paar Jahren in Canggu und hatten zuvor einen völlig anderen Eindruck). Da Bali allgemein gerade von einer bestimmten Nation überrannt wird, gesellen sich auch Leute dazu, die wenig höflich, rücksichtsvoll oder respektvoll sind. Wir wurden in 4 Nächten 2x davon geweckt, dass betrunkene Gäste an ihre Zimmertür treten und hämmern. Dafür kann das Hotel natürlich nichts aber es trägt zu einem weniger angenehmen Aufenthalt bei. Uns tat das Personal sehr leid, dass stets freundlich und professionell geblieben ist, obwohl es mit solch unhöflichen Gästen zurechtkommen musste.

My second time at Papillon. The rooms are generous, clean and serviced each day. The staff are unfailingly positive and helpful. The whole place is kept clean & tidy. Its location is perfect for a short walk (200 yds) to the beach and for plenty of bars & cafes. Can't think why I would stay anywhere else. Thanks Sri and team.

The property could use a refresher, but was very clean amd presentable. There is currently construction going on next door from 8:00am till 5:00pm mon-friday. The bar across the street plays karoke till midnight. That is aboit ot for the down side. The location is perfect for the beach. There are shops to be had nearby and ATM machines.

What a great place to stay! Started really well; after a 2 hour luggage delay at the airport my driver from the hotel was still patiently waiting outside 👍👏 There was a warm welcome from Sri when l arrived (approx 2.00 am). I've stayed in various places in India, Sri Lanka & Bali but this was one of the best rooms l've had and it was cleaned each day with regular bedding changes. The shower room was spotless & cleaned every day. The shower itself was excellent. The outside areas were kept clean & tidy. The reception area was bright & clean with cheerful helpful staff. (I didn't use the on-site bar/cafe but there seemed to be lots of folk who did). It's less than 5 minutes stroll to the beach, there are lots of bars around (one across the road has live music that stops promptly at 11.00 pm) and some great options for food. Overall very impressed and would happily stay again. Thanks to all the staff there (inc. Security) who do a great job. Chris B.

as for the breakfast, I tried only 1 meal but it tasted good rooms are good and clean pool was not the cleanest on my visit (leaves etc) staff was very accomodating 5/5 for the staff.

I took the room with a pool view and stayed for a total of 6 nights(3 nights + extended for 3 more). The aircon wasn't working on the first night and despite calling the front desk, the technician did not come until I had to go there. Finally, they changed my room but then the mattress was very noisy and I couldn't sleep. The next day they finally changed my room and it was all good. The pool is nice and cozy. Good breakfast options on the menu and the staff are friendly. I would recommend this hotel.

Dated air conditioning so very smelly. But if it’s very low temperature that’s fine.

Localização muito boa, próximo da praia e de diversos restaurantes e bares. Sim, tem barulho por conta da música ao vivo do bar em frente, mas não passou das 23h. Talvez nos quartos que não são voltados para a rua talvez não haja barulho. O hotel é antigo, mas o quarto era limpo e bem espaçoso. Os funcionários foram muito gentis.

My stay at Pappilon was a pleasant one. Good hotel. Pros - The hotel is in a prominent place. Canggu being a prominent hub, everything is close by (eateries, the beach, pharmacy, etc.) The staff are excellent at their jobs and are very accommodating. They are generous with water bottles even with a single traveler. The rooms and bathrooms are cleaned regularly. The water pressure in the shower is satisfactory. The accent lights in the bedroom and bathroom are a nice touch. Cons - If you book a Grab for yourself (online taxi service like Uber), they will not pick you up in front of the hotel. They’ll drop you off there but will not pick you up. Due to the language barrier, I couldn’t completely understand why it is this way but this is the case. This could be an issue if you’re lugging heavy baggage during your trip and need to be picked up for the airport or another stay. Having said that, to go around the city at your own leisure, there is a bike rental place right across from the hotel. The bathrooms should be equipped with body wash, shampoo, and conditioner instead of the regular 2 in 1 shampoo and body wash. There are also no hooks in the bathroom to hang your towel/clothes from after you’re done with your shower. Most importantly, there was a window right above my bathtub with no blinds. While the likelihood of someone looking in might be less, it still made me feel rather uncomfortable to have windows with no blinds in the bathroom no less.

Weird moldy smell durning random times of the day/night. View of the wall, construction all day, AC has not been properly cleaned/maintained for a long time (if ever). Very friendly staff. No front desk/security staff at night. Inside the room everything looks like it’s about to fall apart. Great location.

The property in the building is ok the rooms facing the pool much better A lot of construction in front of my window so make sure to ask and at night a bar is downstairs so you have nusic till midnight

This hotel was so much better than we expected. Every room was space and the beds were the most lux and comfy. The area was quieter than most in Canggu area but had everything you need. The markets across the road and down towards the beach were good. Highly recommend.

2nd time staying and always a good option when staying at Echo Beach. Not far to the beach. The outdoor bathroom this time was not expected but ok as the only one in the room. Not all rooms are like that to be clear

The staff are first class from the housekeeper to the front desk to the chef, they will help you with anything you need. Location is walking distance to the beach, many shopping outlets, bars and with a live music venue across the road plus the best massage next door, you don’t need much else. An abundance of transport options if you do want to hit the clubs

Went to check in at 2pm, and the room wasn’t ready because the people staying there hadn’t left yet. Staff did nothing to move them, so my partner and I had to wait in a spare room for 3?hours until our room was ready. Then, our rooms Air conditioner didn’t work, I called for assistance, and they said they’d be right there! Except no one ever came to look at it. Overall poor staff and poor service.

Overall excellent, staff are absolutely attentive, kind and go above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay, in addition the hotel cafe/restaurant might not look like much but the food it’s made to order fresh and excellent no Bali Belly here!!! Perfect for a solo traveler or couple!!!

I booked this accommodation for my dad. It turned out to be average, contrary to the pictures shown on Expedia. Staff has been alright however when my dad was trying to catch a taxi, they told him to walk away from the hotel if he isn’t willing to book a taxi they called. This unacceptable behaviour from hospitality staff.

The location was superb, really near Echo beach and almost all cafes, restaurants and markets were nearby so it’s accessible. Definitely recommend this place!

Great location but if you have a room facing the street which I had it can get really busy. There is a bar across and they play really loud music until 11pm. After a 10 hours flight, it wasn’t the best. I could hear the music as if I was in the bar myself even with my earplugs in.

Helt ok hotell, fornøyd. Men, hotellet ligger bare over gata til en bar/nattklubb som har live musikk hver dag og som spiller grusomt høyt. Var helt grusomt til tider og det ødela litt av nattesøvnen. Ellers ok opphold

Great stay. Within the hotel grounds it creates a very quiet and laid back feel in the midst of a very busy Canggu. In a great location, walkable to many great bars and restaurants!

Great location, walkable to Canggu. Clean and felt safe. If you use grab then don’t go there as you have to walk up to the end of the road for a taxi to meet you.

We had a wonderful stay and even extended. Close to everything in Canggu. After 11 everything goes quiet and enjoyed waking up to the brids in the morning. The team was amazing and the local restaurant was wonderful. The morning breakfast is a must.

Good service . I had a king room with a pool view and an outside toilet and shower with a bathtub. Was really nice . Toilet shower and bathtub has a roof but the back half doesn’t . Had a nice bath . No mosquitoes. Breakfast was ok. Wasn’t a huge selection but reasonable. I don’t eat eggs however they did cook eggs to order . Well priced . Near beach and beach clubs . Short 15 walk to the restaurants and clubs . Really nice sports bar across the street. My room at the back of the property was super quiet. Will stay again .
