Tired run down hotel, in a dodgy area. Van stolen off the car park on first night, shower broken so asked for another room. Trying to find your way around corridors was insane as signage pointed to old reception area no longer accessible. Only saw I staff member who doubled as receptionist and barmaid. Nobody made my bed after first night and never saw housekeeping in my 2 days stay. Cheap but not cheerful

An older hotel with plenty of rooms. Dated decor, clean but tired property. Great breakfast available. Reliable free Wi-Fi. Best of the local budget hotels. Some great staff. Now has a new build supermarket opposite.

Not a great looking place externally, looked run down and closed, not helped by a poorly lit car park and no clear direction to the reception which was right at the back and again, not welcoming. Only the number of cars and vans there, convinced us it was open. Then, the access door was tied open. Not sure if was a fire door, i guess not. Could have been a better recovery if when we found the reception, the receptionist lady was more tentative. She had her head down in some paperwork, which is fine, but look up and say something, like "hi, ill be with you in a moment" just acknowledge us. Anyway a couple of minutes passed, then her opening line was.... "name" no please, no hi, just asked for our name. Gave us a key and DID read out the room number, but didn't point out which way to go, or which floor or anything. I had to ask. Then, the staircase to our floor, 2nd, wasn't well kept, just needs a clean and a dust and again, more lighting. The room, was OK. Suitably aged in line with the hotel, but with some modern decor and a decent bed, but poorly painted patchy walls and.....no heating. I went and asked the lady how the heating works and she said she'll give is a heater until it comes on. The heating didnt come on, our whole stay. Was it not turned on at the mains? (Heating WAS on in reception). A nice clean bathroom though with hot water and had a lovely bath, however the plug had no chain and we had to use a key afterwards to prize it out. Also, obvious damp.

Nice hotel on the outside, very shabby inside, we travelled as a couple, and met a few friends there, we arranged to meet up in the bar, for a drink at the bar, which was advertised as being open 1500 til 2300, but wasn’t, we asked at reception and was told they had no stock. We mentioned this again at reception and they said they didn’t have a license to sell alcohol. We also found out this hotel is used as a women’s refuge! I wouldn’t recommend anyone to go to this hotel, the full English breakfast that was served was cold, and the quality of the food was terrible, I will be making a formal complaint to the hotel and to yourselves

No restaurant open, despite being advertised as having one. Had to get a take out delivered. Won't stay again.

The hotel was cheap and overall pretty good value for money however my vehicle was broken into which i believe according to staff is a regular occurrence so i would suggest if your in a van or pickup like i was to park next to the front door otherwise the cheap stay might end up costing you more in the long run with repairs to your vehicle and loss of tools

Wi-Fi not everywhere

My van and several others were broken into £800 worth tools taken and reception didn’t really care wouldn’t let me look at cctv not impressed

was understaffed.bar had not much choice of alcohol. Lift didn't work so my 72 year old mother in law had to climb 3 floors of stairs of which carpets were dirty and disgusting. Tv in room had limited signal to get channels. Room itself was clean and comfortable. Probably wouldn't stay there again.

Disappointed to find out that the restaurant was closed after I had booked & paid for my room. I had to get a Just Eat delivery instead.

when arrive the hotel looks abandoned, the halls are disgusting with food lying about and stains all over carpets. the shower did not work at all, moved room and shower was warm, the room was filthy, stains all over carpets and towels, bin not emptied from previews guest. mould on windows, receptionist did not seem to care and said there was no one else there as manager was away abroad for the week which i think was lies. checked out after the first night and refused to refund , this hotel is the worst i have stayed in and should be closed

Rooms are FLITHY.

The room was very dirty and smelt of smoke , no air conditioning too hot too sleep in , mould in bathroom , the access doors to building open all night no security , will not return again

The room had bodily fluids on the wall. The place looks derelict from the outside. My guest checked in and checked back out. The hotel would NOT refund for the bookings. It has now been reported to Environmental Health and Trading Standards. Do NOT book this hotel it should not be on this site

The Barons Court Hotel was ok there was a few issues regarding as they didnt have a lift and i have a disability so i had to walk up the stairs. There was no hangers nowhere to put your clothes no safety bath mat in bathroom. The tiles in the bathroom unsafe need to be repaired. There was very little of the continental breakfast because there was no cold meats cheese, or fresh fruit..cooked breakfast was ok could of had more choice ie like chicken sausages, Egss benedict or a choice of different items ie like scrambled or poached eggs . I also think that the Barons court hotel could do with the cleaners to clean the ceilings ,windows and walls because i did see a lot of dirt cobwebs and debris on the ceiling and floor and on the window sills there was dirt and the chairs in the bedroom could do with a steam clean because it had marks on the seat i haven't been to hotel before and not wanted to stay there as on first appearances i wouldn't recommend this Hotel because i am so disappointed with the experience that I had if you want to you can compensate me it would be very much appreciated thanks M WAUGH CUSTOMER xx

Don’t be put off by the front of the hotel as the entrance is at the side and when I was there staff were busy painting the outside woodwork in side the staff are friendly and helpful breakfast is great and my room was spacious clean quiet all the thing a hotel should be

I've stayed here a few times. Is convenient for travelling into Walsall, Lichfield and Birmingham. Room was clean and comfortable as usual. I didn’t stay for breakfast as I checked out early. Three minor problems occurred during this visit. The guest in the room above must have been on a sponsored walk as I heard almost continuous noise from creaking floorboards from around midnight until 1am. This had been happening repeatedly throughout the evening and was very noticeable. The shower, which operates via a mixer tap, worked poorly with the water changing suddenly from comfortable to very hot, then cold. I stopped showering and had a bath instead. Finally I was unable to use the wifi to watch ITV or Channel 4 on my tablet. This always works well at home, but in the hotel I only got the message saying I was not in the UK, so could not watch UK TV channels. Otherwise, the wifi worked fine. Overall, I think this place is good value for money. But you can never account for inconsiderate, noisy guests.

Good and bad points, but I would stay again. The entrance to the hotel is unkempt and we weren’t sure if it was even open and hadn’t been closed down. Once you go around the corner to where the reception is, it’s better. There is plenty of parking. We were given a room on the second floor, there’s no lift, but we were offered help with our bags. The decor is tired and needs to be freshly decorated etc. The room itself was clean, toiletries were included, with windows that opened to let in fresh air was lovely (unlike chain hotels that tend to not open). There were tea and coffee making facilities. You could feel some of the springs in the mattress, but to be honest I slept like a log. We missed wherever it said they do breakfast, and didn’t see the bar etc until check out when people were sat in there. The staff at check in and check out were friendly, I left my phone charger in our room, and the man in reception went back up to fetch it for me which I was grateful for. I’d stay there again for the price we paid.

The room itself was nice. The bathroom was a little outdated and the room was quite echoey due to it being quite empty. The main issue was how cold it was! We went when it was stormy and not only was the window broken and not able to shut properly but there was no heating and all we had was the thinnest duvet. Will not be visiting again.

Hotel looked very old and slightly unloved. Staff were friendly and room was clean the bed was specially comfortable though you could hear the people in the rooms around all night. Old floor boards moving all night from up stairs walking about. Plenty of parking, at breakfast was ok.

As always, check in faultless. Racheal is so friendly nothing is to much trouble,also the young man who works reception is just the same. Its because of them i keep returning here when im in the area.Reasonably priced, comfy bed,tea,coffee provided.My room had a working fridge(bonus keeps the beer cold.)

It was good value for money and the staff were helpful and friendly. The room was clean and the bed comfortable.I would definitely stay there again.

From arriving at the front of the hotel, I did wonder what on earth I’d booked. But once I realised you just drive around the back of hotel for checkin. They are under going refurbishment apparently. I was greeted with a nice young man who was very welcoming. I asked where I could go to have a meal and was directed to a lovely pub/restaurant just up the road. Really good meal, again very welcoming. I had booked breakfast & was hoping to have a meal in the hotel, but received a message as soon as I had booked explaining restaurant closes after breakfast. Breakfast was fantastic, although way too much for me to eat. 2 nice ladies, very helpful. Asking what type of egg & tomato would I like. Plenty of choice if you don’t want a full English. Just help yourself, tea, coffee, juice, cereals, bread, fresh fruit. One of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had & I’ve stayed in many hotels. Baron hotel- your staff are a credit to you. They go above & beyond. If I’m in the area, I won’t hesitate to book again. The only negative I have to say is: Clearer instructions for where to go for checkin, as wasn’t clear.

Spacious, clean rooms. Conveniently, for me, opposite a snooker hall, up the road from an excellent Pub/Restaurant The Boatman Bar and Grill. Staff polite and very helpful, especially Susie. Thanks for your service. I would definitely stay again.

Unfortunately we didn't even get out of the car to check in. The building was not as pictured on the booking app, and is in need of a total overhaul. It was a cold day and ever single window was open, which I think could indicate an internal issue with odours. Even worse than the condition of the building, was the car park being occupied by men dotted around in various places that were smoking rolled cigarettes that smelt very funny. So, unfortunately due to feeling unsafe to the point of not even get out of our car, we decided to move onto another hotel.

Needed a quick stay for NEC and booked here. On way in looked rough as hell, drunk guests hanging around outside and no lift etc for pram. Made way to room and was pleasantly surprised at room Vs cost. Wouldn't rush back but if you needed a cheaper hotel with nice room would recommend.

The room was large with plenty of seats and a large king size bed which gave a good night sleep. The breakfast was excellent. Unfortunately there was a leak in the bathroom ceiling coming from the room above us. Also the shower-head was tied with cable ties so that the shower head was facing the wall. We complained to staff but nothing was done with the situation.

Pros - great staff at check in. She was very helpful. Room clean, especially bathroom and bed linen. Staff at breakfast were good also. Lots of options for breakfast. Reasonably quiet in the room. Little noise from other guests. Great value hotel close to Walsall. Cons - unpleasant, strong smell at entrance to the hotel due to smoke. Room had similar smell - perhaps previous guest had been smoking in the room, but can't be certain. Overall - positive experience. Would stay again.

Quite noisy, doors banging at all hours of the night. Didn't appreciate being woken by someone ( think it was a staff member ) repeatedly banging on the door opposite my room at 1:20 am on Sunday morning. Hotel in need of some TLC, looking tired and run down in places. Breakfast good value, staff pleasant and cheerful.
