Excellent location and pub is only down a path, which serves breakfasts and meals all day.

The staff were friendly and helpful, would stay again. The rooms were a good size. There is no lift but only 2 storey so not too bad. Plenty of parking by the hotel round the back of the pub.

Great value, beds great and easy free parking. Quiet. Supermarket nearby (petrol stations) and some fast food if wanted. We ate in the restaurant but being Friday it was busy and so waited a while for food.

We checked in via reception at the pub and then were shown where to get into the Lodge at the back. All of the staff we spoke to were lovely: friendly and helpful. The first good feature was that the rooms are away from the pub, so no noise. Also, there is plenty of dedicated, free parking which is a real bonus when looking for somewhere to stay. The building is modern and the rooms are clean and orovide everything you might need. We were pleased to see that there was a bath: something of a luxury for most accommodation. I had a walk along the canal which is immediately adjacent to the hotel and provides an easy route into town on foot. We ate in the pub that evening and enjoyed our meals and it was easy to order online, so no standing and waiting at the bar. It is not an easy place to find: ignore the SAT NAV and Google maps because neither will guide you there from the town centre. In future, I would definitely approach directly from the A57.

I always stay at the Lockkeeper when I'm up visiting family. It's clean, comfortable with plenty of parking and excellent wi-fi (I worked from the hotel one day, including video calls). The staff are always welcoming and friendly and I often eat at the pub when I stay. It would be good to have an ashtray by the hotel, the only ashtrays are currently in front of the pub.

We booked this as a pit stop on route to the Dales. Lovely staff and clean nice room. The only thing was the A/C was very noisy in the night. It kept me awake but my husband slept through 😂

There is no dedicated reception desk so if the pub is busy you have a long wait to check-in. Although the rooms are non-smoking, there was slight smell of smoke in my room. The electric switch that holds the key card was broken. The signing in 'The Lodge' could have been better with directions to the stairs being along along the corridors rather than on the walls.

This hotel works in a pinch, but I’d likely stay elsewhere in the future. A bit lacking in cleanliness, with soiled carpet and a shower curtain stained with what appeared to be blood. The staff at the adjoining pub (where you check-in) was pleasant and helpful, but the other amenities one might expect, e.g., luggage storage, was lacking.

Its not soundproof. Could not sleep all night due to noise from upstairs. Phoned the reception twice and they spoke to them, but still didn't solve anything. Place could do with soundproofing. Bath was dirty had hair all over. For the money I paid, I expected better.

I ordered a meal in the restaurant, but had my Apple Crumble brought to me before the main course. They then forgot my crumble and I had to chase which took ages. I ordered a double bed, but actually what I got was two single bed bolted together, with a very uncomfortable gap down the middle. I\'m 6\' 4", so I had a very restless sleep.

Good sized room with comfortable beds and pillows. Nice and quiet for a good nights sleep. Close to all amenities with a good pub and restaurant with lovely inside and outside play area

The property and grounds looked very well maintained. Everywhere was clean and tidy. The staff were courteous. Food at the adjoining pub was tasty and hot, with plenty of options. This stay was ruined by the plumbing and/or air conditioning system which made extremely noisy sounds all through the night, rendering sleep impossible.

The room was very good for the price range and breakfast was good too. My major complaint is that I was in room 107 and was woken at 4.30am by the very loud noises made by the water system- presumably heating. The noise persisted for an hour and by that time my night was ruined and I could not sleep. I was tired all day and didn’t enjoy my long drive home

The service from the staff in the pub was excellent but there were some issues with the rooms. Both rooms were very cold and the heating did not work. In room 109 there were two issues, one trivial and the other very serious. The slot where the key card is replaced fell apart and during the second night the toilet cistern went into 'continual flush' mode and was very noisy all night preventing sleep. There appears to be no maintenance plan for 24 hours emergenencies.

On arrival check in was actually at a desk near side of the main bar area in the main pub/restaurant area not at a reception desk as shown on hotel pictures within in the hotel itself. limited staff at check in due to same staff also running the bar/restaurant customers, then unexpected on arrival never mentioned prior on the booking was then greeted with a £50 extra payment charge to pay before proceeding any further due to recent damage/theft at the hotel, which was quite a knock back but luckily had the extra though to proceed. Didn’t think this was quite fair & probably should of been mentioned in advance, especially if you are looking for a quick last minute decent hotel stay for a night like ourselves due to travelling & believed we had got a good deal for the night at just less than £60 then hit with an extra £50 last minute so turned into a night stay at this point of over £100 unexpected, although yes it is refundable the following day (returned to bank following day by 4pm) once cleaners have done there checks. Also on booking sites it states 10am check out which is incorrect & is actually 11am which is a positive but needs to be corrected. Comfy & clean though & plenty to do nearby.

Room is ok, better then a Travelodge but below a premier Inn. Found my self double booked apparently because I booked through a 3rd party. Had to find alternative stay for remaining days. Still waiting on refund after contact.

Very difficult to find address, GPS guide to industry area, no hotel but Timber show room, there is no one answer your calls and terrible customer service.

Canal walks are good with decent paths. Worksop is 20 minute walk but not worth the effort. The dual carriage way running behind the hotel is very loud all the time but the hotel on the canal side is quiet.

A very comfortable anc clean Hotel as good as many others at twice the price. Very convenient for Clumber Park or for walks along the canal which runs right next to the hotel

Very easy access from the motorway and very convenient for where i wanted to visit.

Lovely location by the lock, as soon as we entered the bar area to collect key welcoming environment we made enquiries about the area as considering relocating everyone was so helpful. Room was comfy n clean perfect for our stay Food was lovely too.

Lovely setting, spacious resturant and kids playarea. Best carvery I had and good portions. Small and basic play area for toddlers but well positioned by tables for parents to eat while watching.

The room was excellent. My problem is with the food. I had a poor meal from the carvery at around 7pm on the evening of my arrival. The meat on offer was dried up, a fault to which I drew the attention of the male server, who was unconcerned. I settled on the turkey, which appeared to be the least dry, and was offered yorkshire pudding and stuffing, which I accepted. I helped myself to peas, cauliflower in a sauce and small pieces of roast potatoes. I then helped myself to gravy and cranberry sauce. All the items on the plate were tepid at best, the cranberry sauce being the best of a bad meal. I came in for breakfast at 8am on the morning of my departure to find no member of staff in the bar or breakfast area so I rang the bell in the carvery. A young woman came out of the kitchen and when I explained that I wanted cereal, toast and tea she lost interest and indicated that as it was the continental breakfast I should help myself in the area adjacent to the kitchen. There was a sign indicating pastries next to an empty covered plate so I was only able to have the cereal, toast and tea, which didn’t seem like a continental breakfast to me. When I mentioned the absence of pastries to the young woman she made the excuse that they had to wait for delivery. I also explained about my bad experience of the evening before and that I would not be returning she just said I should do as I saw fit. So that’s another customer you won’t be seeing again.

Very good hotel. Good rooms, good service, clean and bright. Breakfast good with one comment. No matter which button you pressed on the coffee machine you got black coffee.

Check in was easy and room was excellent in terms of cleanliness and comfort. Lots of shared rooms and banging of doors overnight but it's Saturday so understandable. Was thrilled to read about the breakfast options for the following day. Sadly on arrival I was told that today was a help yourself carvery breakfast. No pan akes for me then!. Worst of all was the coffee machine was broken, despite multiple staff trying to fix it it wasn't happening. No coffee in the morning wasn't the start I needed.

The staff were really good and dealt with any issues very quickly. We had a good stay and it was good value for money. Only one real ale on which is poor for a brewery organisation.
