Super 8 by Wyndham Sturgeon Bay

I was a little concerned when I got there when she couldn’t find our reservation, but then after a few minutes she did and she was very helpful. It’s an older hotel but our room was clean. We had an issue with the tub draining really slow so my husband left a note at the desk and it was taken care of before we returned later in the day. Our granddaughter really enjoyed the pool and my husband enjoyed the hot tub.

Someone else's leftover pizza was in the fridge when we arrived in our room. No ice bucket in room. Pool so cold kids couldn't even use it.

Had a very nice stay at this hotel - I'm glad I didn't listen to the few negative reviews. The staff was very kind and helpful. Easy check-in, the property is obviously older but it is clear they have worked hard to remodel/update. Nothing fancy and no frills, but if you want those things then you shouldn't be booking at Super 8. Clean rooms, comfortable bed, very nice BIG pool and hot tub was good too. Pool being open until 11pm was a huge plus! Breakfast was definitely adequate with several hot options.

Breakfast supposed to be 6-9am, most of the food was put away by 8:45am. Had to go to McDonalds. No elevators, room on 2nd floor. Was charged twice! Once when checking in and once when checking out! We were able to get refunded! Very out of date but were told they are in process of remodeling. Swimming and hot tub area were very nice!

Pool water was so cold, couldn't be used. Our room needed to be re-vamped.

Lobby was spacious for a motel 8, but place is rundown. Pool was ok but poor lighting. Water wasn’t working in room when we got there a little inconvenience because couldn’t flush bathroom. It took a bit but issue was resolved

Our stay was OK. For just one night it was fine. The hot tub does not have very many jets and if there is more than 2 in it you do not get a jet. I do like the open shower they to rinse off in the pool area. You do not see that at many places. The staff can be hard to understand but are friendly.

The room was fine. The free breakfast was okay. Parking was good.

The room was not cleaned properly before we arrived. The 3-drawer dresser in the room was missing a drawer and a previous guest's shirt was left in one of the drawers. The desk attendant did take care of both issues after it was brought to her attention. In addition, the room was not cleaned and re-stocked during our 4-day stay. We did not put out the "Do Not Disturb" sign, so I would expect that it would be cleaned and restocked daily.

I thought the best part of this property was its cleanliness. It was very dated, but it was clean and the food was very well done

The hotel and property are filthy. Our check in was 3 pm but not able to get in as room was not ready. Went back hour later. Got to our room which had a strong odor. No chain lock on door bedding was old and damp. Pillows old and cases dirty. Went down and got new sheets. Good thing we brought our own pillows. Light didn’t work next to the bed. Black mold around the inside of the bathroom door. No screens or locks on the windows. Fridge didn’t work microwave was dirty.

The staff was very accommodating. The room was very clean.

Found garbage underneath the one bed.

Clean, well maintained property. Good clean rooms, shower. Excellent breakfast. Responsive and helpful front desk staff.

Lobby smelled clean Did not enjoy walking through smokers who were smoking on either side of the front entrance Did not enjoy looking out our window to view that trash below Was irritated when I had to listen to some type of gathering outside and below our room from 7pm to after midnight. I called the front desk for help to either quiet or move the group away from guest rooms. She said she talked to the people after my first call. At 11:30pm, the activity was still going on. The front desk phone was busy so I went to the desk to ask for quiet again. The event went on until after midnight. Very disappointed as we had a long day and needed to travel in a few hours. It would have been nice to be able to get some sleep.

The property was very rundown. It had broken lampshades, a broken smoke alarm on the ceiling. All in all, not a very clean place

Upon getting to our room, the door was being held wide open. The room smelled when we entered. We went back to the front desk and were told that they had to use strong chemicals and they were airing the room out. They didn't offer to give us a different room. It smelled like someone had probably gotten sick in it. The whole experience was not good.

I've been staying here for business for 10+ years. Its about time they do a deep cleaning. Towels are stained & thread-bare. They have also taken the coffee pots out of the room...not a good thing at all. Coffee pots are standard equipment in an American hotel. Rooms weren't refreshed or garbage emptied for second day--covid was over years ago. Pool is nice & price reasonable.

When we checked in at 8:45 PM, we were given a 2 Queen bed and told they did not have to honor our reservation because it was through a third party, and the reservation was "only a request." A conversation ensued. I had a printed copy of my reservation and he still insisted it was only a request. Then, in my emails, I saw that at 5:40 PM that day our reservation had been changed to 2 queen beds. We did NOT make that change. The hotel did it! After more arguing, we were finally given a 1 king bed room but told they were going to call Expedia and then Expedia would charge us more for the room and "then you're in for a dog fight with them." What a bunch of lies! The room had no soap in the bathroom or shower and the Wifi didn't work. I had to argue with the morning desk person to get a printed receipt upon check out. The breakfast staff was totally unfriendly as well. This place is awful. Outside condition of building is not clean. Rooms are very dated.

Cigarette butts everywhere. Floor was sticky in hallway. Water pressure issues. Room had 1 of wash cloth and towel for 2 guests. Room was about 85 degrees, upon entry. Wont be back.

Good Internet speed and serviceable breakfast. Other than that, this hotel is tired and badly in need of an update, such as new bed linens, carpet and a few outlets near the bed/end table for chargers.

Outdated, no automatic doors. Ancient furniture, broken lower toilet base in my room 226. Hand rails do not meet code. Poorlighting. Just really dingy and outdated.

Overall it was a fine place to stay. It’s an older hotel with no major frills. Room was sufficiently clean upon arrival. Biggest issue was bed was very stiff and caused pain points throughout the night. Pool was on the cooler side. Parking was great as there were multiple entrances you could park at and be closer to your room and use room key to enter the building. Made packing up and loading out a breeze.

The staff was super friendly, and the property was clean. You could just tell it was a 2-star property as craftsmanship was less than stellar. For example, there was no stopper at the bottom of my door in to the hallway, and there was an inch or so gap. No one could see anything under the door (so that wasn't a concern), but it made it much noisier. Also, they took the time to tile around the tub (which always looks nicer than a plastic tub surround), but they didn't put a metal tile strip at the edge. They simply put caulk, so the edge of the tile was not only exposed, but the caulk wasn't applied neatly. (It was smeared rather than in a nice straight line.) That totally ruined the look. Neither the drain in my sink or my tub had a stopper, just an open hole. So again, it was clean, but all of these minor details made it look much shoddier.

The room was clean. We had 4 people in a double queen bed room. It was clean. The beds were terriblly uncomfortable and had 3 12x12 “pillows” each. Also only had 2 bath towels! The room was reserved so youd think they knew we had 4 people. Luckily we were only there overnight (with late arrival). If it was for a vacation, Id sayspend a couple extra dollars and go somewhere else.

Room was okay but noise came from 2nd floor. Towels with holes. Breakfast on Sunday only until 9am. TV didn’t work

Out dated decor and cosmetic repairs needed.

Liked the ease of check in and the breakfast, pool, hot tub. Did not like a lamp that did not work and could hear the upstairs room walking around. But overall a nice place to stay.

The Customer Service was so so. The two ladies that checked us in weren't very friendly and basically just sat in the room behind the desk. Had to ask multiple times about there being no towels in the pool, turn the pool lights on. There was a younger lady that worked Saturday and Sunday morning that was much more sociable, friendly, active on seeing that things were the way things should be. Room was comfy and relatively clean but had a weird smell. Breakfast was pretty good

Everything was great!! Anthony was able to answer my questions and provide me with more pillows! Very friendly and supportive!!

For our families July 4th getaway I booked two rooms. My wife & I enjoyed one room. Our daughter, son-in-law two grandsons along with their Golden Retriever enjoyed an adjoining room. Having a long list of requests I thought it best to speak to speak to someone at the hotel. I spoke to Sierra by phone on the day the reservations were placed. Sierra answered & listened, although she couldn't promise she assured me she would do all she could to accommodate our family's requests. Upon our arrival Sierra greeted us. Sierra went above and beyond in accommodating every request. Upon our arrival we found two cribs completely set-up for our grandchildren. We were also provided adjoining rooms where my wife & I were able to assist attending to our grandsons without having to venture out into the hallway. We enjoyed the hot tub & pool. The breakfasts provided had something for everyone from eggs & sausage to waffles, cereal, muffins, toast, yogurt, several different choices of juice, and great coffee. There was even coffee available in the lobby after breakfast was done. In addition, there was a gentleman who was at the front desk on Saturday evening (I failed to get his name). I make mention of him because we ordered dinner from Sonnys & planned to eat it at the lakefront. Unfortunately it rained. My family & I had no other option but to return to the hotel to have our dinner. This gentleman opened the cafeteria & allowed my family & I access to the tables & chairs. We will return!!!

It was a little confusing the first time to get to the motel from the highway. In subsequent trips back to the motel, it became easier to navigate after the first time.

The property and services were what I expected for the price we paid. Nothing fancy, but we had a clean room with a comforable bed and plenty of hot water. The staff was very friendly and the pool and hot-tub were a plus. The breakfast was standard fare...but was tasty and hot. A good centralized place to stay for s visit to the Door County area at a reasonable price. No complaints.

A lot of people walking around outside during the day and some at night to the point of feeling uncomfortable and unsafe…

Easy access to town and the highway and reasonably priced for for what was offered.

Stayed for one night , my kids enjoyed the stay. very clean and near to attractions.

It took 35 minutes to check in. Then there was a added deposit fee that it did not inform us on website about. Once we got into the room we noticed the door on all 4 sides didn't fit in the doorway. There was about a 2 inch gap between the frame and the door. The bedding was dirty in a "clean" room. There was multiple complaints about how dirty the bedding was by multiple guests. 1 bed sheet had a large circle of blood on it and they were calling it clean for example of what the problems were with it. At breakfast the manager/owner was hovering over guests and telling them to put back food if he thought they were taking to much. These were just some of the issues we had. WE WILL NEVER BE BACK.

It was ok for a few days. Hot tub was ok it worked, but not very hot. location was good for our purposes. We just slept there, not a place you would want to hang out. The breakfast was not good at all. We just went out for breakfast because it was barely edible, with not much variety.

The lobby was quite nice and comfortable. Coffee was available at check in. The room was clean and comfortable. Liked having two chairs. Liked the idea of a refrigerator and microwave but the microwave was not close to an outlet. The breakfast had many options. Would have liked a Decaf coffee option.

Very well managed. Friendly staff and breakfast was fantastic

The stay was fine. I think there is allot of people that actually live at this hotel. Couldn't relax at the pool with all the people jumping around, play fighting and drinking beer out of glass bottles. Management came in and said something and they continued. I think these people live there. Beer bottle caps all over the parking lot along with over flowing empty cases of Corona. Breakfast was ok, but management had to be asked to refill items that were empty multiple times. We had to clean tables to sit and have breakfast. Ok experience for a quick weekend away. Will look for something different if we go back to the area.

Great property loved the breakfast and staff, our only negative is we had a window that was broke and kept opening up during windy times. Let front desk know 3 times and she closed it each time but it would open up 3 min later so we gave up on bothering front desk.
