Rooms were found to be in need of some refurbishment, no hook on bathroom door, mains electric wall socket broken and n/w, hole in bathroom floor through covering and floor boards, only food is burger style

Not really what we expected. We stayed for one night (a sunday) following the local motor racing. We were a disappointed from the start. Check in was at the bar but the music was so loud that we couldn't really hear what was said, we were shown a door which lead to the rooms. The land lady was very nice and polite.we were then told that the karaoke went on till 10 pm, they don't do breakfast and the kitchen shuts at 6pm, so no evening meal available. The room was so small that the double bed left very little space for anything else,about 8 inches either side. In the bathroom the you have to manoeuvre around the toilet to be able to shut the door and the sliding door to the shower was not secure on the bottom runner and almost fell off. Unfortunatly won't stay here again.

This is a great local pub to stay in, the staff and the other customers made us feel very welcome. Its close to the city center but far enough away to feel like a different place. The rooms are its and all around great place to stay.

Very nicely situated in a quiet village area 3miles from the town centre. Large car park at the rear and easy access to a bus service outside. Clean pub and rooms of a reasonable quality. Staff very helpful and accommodating. Well priced.

Disappointed that the new owners had not got food on if I’d known I wouldn’t have booked there ended waking half a mile to find food and taxi back not very good
