My Place Hotel-Kansas City/Independence Mo

Convenient right off highway 70. There was no continental breakfast although there is a snack bar by the reception desk. Prices for those items are a little high. My Place is set up more for long term quest as they have rooms featuring kitchenettes with refrigerators and stovetops.

It was hard to find parking alot of pickup trucks some with trailers taking up several spots because not properly aligned in each stall. I noticed at this location there is a empty field or property next to the hotel maybe lease or by that lot and designate that section for trucks& trailers over there opening up spots in front of the hotel .its a mess out there. I really like this hotel but now if parking is like this ill hsve to find a different hotel .

The staff were very friendly and were friendly to our two dogs. Upon arrival, we found out the elevator was out of order. The person working the desk had said it would be repaired shortly. We were located on the third floor, it was an effort to get our things up to the room. The elevator was out of order the whole stay there. There was an old coffee filter in the coffee maker, which had been sitting in there for quite some time. The room was otherwise clean and the area was quiet which was nice. The office staff was always friendly when we saw them as well.

All rooms have a kitchenette and a recliner. Very clean and comfortable bed.

Good place to stay. Spent about a week. Elevator broke down half way through my stay and wasn’t able to be fixed before I left. WiFi signal went in and put towards the end of my stay, but staff was courteous, kind and responsive to any issues that could control. I would stay again.

Place smelled bad (illegal drugs through out all the floors) no gym, no pool. Would not recommend if you go with family. Find a nicer place with more amenities

Enjoyed our stay and appreciated the affordable pet fee as we were traveling with our frenchie.

The value of My Place is super compared to other nearby hotels. They are designed for extended stays if someone need it....full size frig, stove top, microwave, full sink and plenty of cabinets and drawers. I only stay for 1 night each visit, but you don't pay extra for these days bonus features.

We always try and stay at My Place when we can. I love the full sized refrigerator. We travel with family for out of town softball tournaments - it's great to be able to bring our own food and beverages and keep them cold. The ice maker is also a plus!

Just need a pool

The room smelled like urine and smoke. Garbage disposal did not work and bathtub would not drain and the sink lock was broke so you had to lift up the block in the sink by hand in order for it to drain. I usually love MyPlace hotels but this was probably the worse conditioned one I’ve been too. The Staff was very friendly and helpful though

Blankets were visibly dirty, hallways smelled like wet dog

My only complaint is that the room had a strong musty odor. Kinda like a wet dog. I opened the window for a few minutes but that didn’t help. I didn’t complain so I didn’t give the staff a chance to move me to another room. Note: I stayed in a different room on a separate occasion and that room did not have the same odor.

Sink sprays to the right like a jet, broken toilet seat and water ran for like 5 minutes every flush , and about a 30 second lag for water to come out of the shower head and shower floor squishy. Overall felt pretty unclean.

The bathroom shower had hair in it. There was no body wash in the shower (it was empty). I had an ADA room, and I was super uncomfortable with the bed. If you book through Expedia, beware, this will be the default room. Luckily, I was only there one night.

Everything was nice and clean and comfy. The staff was very friendly. I would definitely stay here again.

Small parking lot. We checked in and the assistant manager was wonderful. We got up to our room and only had two towels. Went to put water bottles in the fridge. Housekeeping never even cleaned the fridge out from the previous guest. When I went to the front to get more towels the assistant manager kept apologizing and offered to come clean our room. I declined because everything looked clean except the fridge. Fast forward to the next morning when I went to take a shower and there was hair ALL over the shower walls from previous guest that NEVER got cleaned. After seeing that I was so disgusting. I’m so disappointed I already have this hotel reserved for another weekend that’s coming up when we have to come back to town.

Overall nice and clean inside the room but the hallway carpet on the 4th floor was very dirty and sticky. The room was nice for the price.

Nice place! We needed to stay in town for a few nights and this place was nice. Convenient location and probably the cleanest bathroom I’ve ever seen in a hotel. The whole place was spotless. Beds were comfy and for the most part it was quiet except for the person above us walked in boots or something all night. Maybe they were practicing clogging? Anyway, we managed to get some good rest.

Everything was great except the bed was not very comfortable.

The key did not work and the staff didn’t know how to fix it. So we had to stay there all night since there was no way to open the door after hours.

We stayed at MyPlace in Kalispell last year; had a great experience, so opted to stay here in Independence. I stressed to front desk staff that we needed a quiet room. I have a sleep disorder and take medication, we were traveling with a pet, and working remotely. The staff member, Jodi, assured me 103 was quiet, as the people next door were quiet. Around 10 pm, the neighbor in 101 started slamming their door so hard, running in and out, it was shaking the walls. I called the desk. I heard Jodi address someone coming back inside about the door slamming. It kept on and on. I got up, medicated and half dressed, and stood in the doorway to my room at almost 11 pm. I was assured by Jodi that she would speak with them again and if they didn’t stop, they’d be ask to leave. This went on until 2 am. I spoke with another staff member, Vincent. He said he heard the door slamming and saw the woman taking her trash out at midnight. Woke up again at 1:19 am. Around 2 am, I called again. I was told they could move me to a different room. At 2 am?! With my medicated self, work equipment, dog, half dressed, etc. So the answer is to punish the guest that is adhering to the quiet time hours policy! I spoke with manager, Adam, in the morning. He offered me nothing. Told me it was my fault for not moving rooms at 2 am. He wouldn’t even waive the pet fee. Seems kind of unfair to me that I have to pay extra for my well-behaved dog but people can be disruptive to other guests and nothing is done!

The stay was very good except when we arrived they informed us they changed our reservation. Several people had same problem. Clerk said he thought manager had contacted us but never happened. Very disappointed after long day of traveling.

Check-in was very cumbersome. Front desk clerk struggled to make systems work and had to spend time on phone with manager to complete check-in.

The staff was the most friendly people I have ever encountered at a hotel. Pleasant, happy, kind, sincere. It just made my day every morning and evening.

Absolutely amazing staff!

The room itself was comfortable, no issues with cleanliness. But there was no bottled water, the elevator was so slow to wait for so we often took the stairs to the third floor. When we tried checking out at 6am, no one was at the front desk. We waited and called but no one came so we left our room key at the desk. I called back to explain later and they just didn’t seem to care. Our room key also stopped working so we had to go back to the front from the third floor.

Second long term stay at this motel. The staff are always extremely friendly and go out of their way to help. Monique is always extremely helpful. She remembered us from our last stay. Jackie was very helpful and concerned trying to find me assistance when my car battery died. The maintenance man sorry I forgot his name was also very concerned and helpful.

I received excellent customer service!!! My stay got unexpectedly extended, due to the excellent customer service from Jackie, I booked an additional night! I highly recommend My Place!

Very happy with this location. Easy access to the interstate and multiple dining options. The location was quiet and I felt very safe here.

Friendly staff! Short drive to Kaufman Stadium.

If you are going to an event at the Cable Dahmer arena, this place is less than a mile from the venue. There are many restaurants within walking distance.

Close to attractions

Nice hotel close to the interstate, but still a quiet area. Also there is a wonderful cafe across the road that was so good, we had dinner and breakfast there. Very clean hotel.

We were in town for a concert at Arrowhead Stadium and it was great. Not too far from tg3 stadium and right off of the interstate. Clean, and up to date building and rooms. Would stay again!

My Place Hotel's location was right off I-70, very convenient. Parking and check-in were quick and easy. Room was very clean and bed very comfortable. Shower had great water pressure. It was a pleasant place--we were just passing through and needed just what the hotel provided.

Just an overnight stay for the Royals/Cubs game but it was a short distance via Uber to the ballpark. Quiet area.

Despite not being a big chain hotel, this is the BEST stopover hotel we’ve EVER stayed at. Everything is sooooooo clean it looks brand new. The bed and pillows are super comfortable. AC worked perfectly. This is our second time staying here and we can’t say enough good things about it. Bonus: we tried the Carvers across the parking lot and it was delicious.

Smelled very clean, non smoking property. No breakfast at all though at this location. Was disappointed but overall customer service and room was clean and great for my quick overnight stay.

One of the cleanest hotels I ever stayed at and some of the most friendly staff I have ever encountered anywhere in the world. My only critique is that no breakfast is included, and while they have a breakfast for purchase, it's frozen breakfast sandwiches or burritos. So unfortunately that's not adequate if you're traveling for a sports competition. But if you're not going for sports there is nothing to criticize.

This property did not have any breakfast included with the cost. You could buy some pre-made sandwiches, cereals, etc but they cost extra. Most motels have those things as standard fare.

Check in was pretty easy, the clerk was a little rattled from a drunk person in front of me. Slight mess up but they quickly fixed it. Location is great, Culver's and Arby's right by. Stove, microwave, fridge/freezer, what more do you need? My travelmate said it was the most comfortable beds they've slept on while traveling. The only thing I didn't like was paying for breakfast with options that are frozen foods. Small parking lot.

Staff was welcoming and friendly. The rooms were spacious and quiet. Wished there was breakfast on site and utensils in the kitchenette area, but will be prepared on the next visit.

Pros - Inexpensive. Clean. Pet-friendly. Customer service was great. Cons - Have to order your breakfast to be delivered the night before. Bathroom sink didn't have a screen so water sprayed everywhere. This was a different stay from any we have ever experienced at a hotel, as the place is set up for long-term stay. No breakfast is served. You order it the night before and cook it in your unit. Having said that, it was clean and although the amenities were pretty basic, it was fine for an overnight stay. We would stay here agin.
