We were warmly met by Johannes at reception. My partner wanted to have her hair done and that was organised by Belinda using her regular hairdresser for the following morning. Helpful recommendations for restaurants. Location is perfect for a quick walk up to the main street where everything is located. Rooms beautifully finished and very comfortable with all you could need. Lovely pool with loungers and comfortable chairs to enjoy the view and sunshine. Highly recommend this gem in Franschoek.

Loved this place. Really charactful and full of charm. Excellent hosts. Very good sized bedroom with great en-suite. Excellent breakfast. Cold buffet and cooked. Reasonable sitting out area with pool. Situated only a me block back from Main Street and restaurants. Highly recommend. We’ll be back if in Franschhoek in the future.

We had a lovely stay. The staff here are really friendly and helpful. Our loft room, though a bit difficult to get up and down the staircase (definitely not recommended for anyone with mobility issues), was cosy and clean. The breakfast was great and swimming pool also very refreshing in the heat commonly experienced in Franschoek. Very centrally located in town, so it was also a convenient location with easy parking

This property is in a fantastic location, being nice and central to restaurants and cafes on the Main Street. The staff were very friendly and provided great service. The room itself was pretty average (but spacious), especially given the price - it was quite old, with squeaky floors. The bed was a bit short (not an issue for us but if you’re taller it would be a bit small) and the shower did not have a curtain or door, allowing water to get all over the bathroom floor. The grounds of the hotel were nice with the breakfast by the pool area and garden.

We enjoyed our stay here. It was a lovely room , bed and sheets wonderful, sitting area, bathroom- all beautifully decorated. The pool and sitting /breakfast area outside as well were stunning and comfortable. Breakfast was perfect with coffee, a caraf of juice, - a table to the side with cereal and yogurt, cheeses, smoked salmon, figs etc and then a hot breakfast offered of toast, any style of egg, bacon ,sausage ,tomatoe, mushrooms . I did not like or enjoy a 10 o'clock check out. I don't remember a 10 o'clock check out anyplace or anywhere at anytime. We had packed and were mostly ready to do a check out when we sat down for breakfast and we checked out at 10 as requested- I hadn't read the 10 o'clock departure line on the reservation ... so it caught us by surprise the cleaning up at breakfast and wind down - as we enjoyed our food... That's fine- it's done- but when we're on vacation on Saturday morning I would probably have enjoyed that extra half hour.

This was a lovely guest house with convenient parking and was very close to the main drag in Franschhoek. The host Johannes was very kind and helped make me feel welcome.

Expedia's team needs to be more vigilant on trusting hotel pictures and postingthem on your website/app. The photos used to describe each room's bathroom at Mont d'Or was exactly the same and having stayed there, that's not the case at all. Our bathroom was worse than a cheap motel and I have pictures to back it up.

We had a lovely stay at the Mont d'Or - Johannes was a wonderful host! The property was really homely and the rooms are comfortable and clean. Its a short walk to town, restaurants or the wine tram and we'd definitely stay again :)

O chuveiro esquentava rápido mas tinha pouca vazão de água. O ar condicionado era um pouco fraco. O quarto tinha algumas infiltrações e o café da manhã foi bem ruim, poucas opções e todas bem simples. A equipe foi muito simpática e atenciosa.

Great location just a few minutes stroll to Franschhoek cafes and restaurants. Warm and friendly welcome from Carol and Johannes and the other staff. The room was comfortable but would benefit from a spruce up as looked a bit tired, particularly the bathroom. Also there was a very strange smell coming from the bathroom but this could well have been from drains.

Wonderful staff,so happy to help with anything.The ladies whom served breakfast and cleaned the rooms were super lovely.Both front of desk managers, Johannes and Carol were excellent. Great location and breakfast amazing 🙂

Such a great hotel , staff are lovely and friendly. Great location in Franschhoek , 2 minute walk to the Main Street. Breakfast was delicious. Nothing too much trouble for the staff . If we were to come back to Franschhoek we would definitely stay here again. Thanks again Johannes and all the staff!

Loved this place. Really charactful and full of charm. Excellent hosts. Very good sized bedroom with great en-suite. Excellent breakfast. Cold buffet and cooked. Reasonable sitting out area with pool. Situated only a me block back from Main Street and restaurants. Highly recommend. We’ll be back if in Franschhoek in the future.

We had a great stay at Mont d'Or! The staff was very accommodating and welcoming. It was the perfect short walk from the wine tram and town. We would recommend this stay to family and friends for sure!

We had a lovely stay. The staff here are really friendly and helpful. Our loft room, though a bit difficult to get up and down the staircase (definitely not recommended for anyone with mobility issues), was cosy and clean. The breakfast was great and swimming pool also very refreshing in the heat commonly experienced in Franschoek. Very centrally located in town, so it was also a convenient location with easy parking

This was a lovely guest house with convenient parking and was very close to the main drag in Franschhoek. The host Johannes was very kind and helped make me feel welcome.

Great location just a few minutes stroll to Franschhoek cafes and restaurants. Warm and friendly welcome from Carol and Johannes and the other staff. The room was comfortable but would benefit from a spruce up as looked a bit tired, particularly the bathroom. Also there was a very strange smell coming from the bathroom but this could well have been from drains.

Wonderful staff,so happy to help with anything.The ladies whom served breakfast and cleaned the rooms were super lovely.Both front of desk managers, Johannes and Carol were excellent. Great location and breakfast amazing 🙂

We enjoyed our stay here. It was a lovely room , bed and sheets wonderful, sitting area, bathroom- all beautifully decorated. The pool and sitting /breakfast area outside as well were stunning and comfortable. Breakfast was perfect with coffee, a caraf of juice, - a table to the side with cereal and yogurt, cheeses, smoked salmon, figs etc and then a hot breakfast offered of toast, any style of egg, bacon ,sausage ,tomatoe, mushrooms . I did not like or enjoy a 10 o'clock check out. I don't remember a 10 o'clock check out anyplace or anywhere at anytime. We had packed and were mostly ready to do a check out when we sat down for breakfast and we checked out at 10 as requested- I hadn't read the 10 o'clock departure line on the reservation ... so it caught us by surprise the cleaning up at breakfast and wind down - as we enjoyed our food... That's fine- it's done- but when we're on vacation on Saturday morning I would probably have enjoyed that extra half hour.

We loved staying at Mont d’Or - it was a beautiful property. The rooms were spacious and the bed comfortable. Carol the Manager was lovely and so helpful. It was only a 3 minute walk to the main street. Lots of restaurants, cafes and shops. We love the French feel in this town. Great wineries and the Wine Train was fun.

Absolutely loved our stay in this beautiful boutique hotel! Walking to town was the best start to a day walking beside the sea. The breakfast was delicious and the staff so friendly and helpful. We recommend to anyone wanting a beautiful,warm , friendly experience.
