The Longlands Hotel

It was my second time staying at this property. I would recommend this to anyone who’s looking for a place to stay in Middlesbrough as it is easily accessible with nearby restaurants, w-fi and parking facilities. The staff were friendly and helpful and I had no concerns and really enjoyed my stay.

The room we stayed in room 35 had a big stain on the double mattress rubbish in the cupboard the shower were dirty full off mould could of done with a refurbishment and decorating the breakfast is nothing to write home about would not stop again bed was very uncomfortable to sleep on people doing drugs in the room and noisy when come to bedtime

Not very pleasant. Room quite dirty. Sheets clean. Bathroom shocking. But it is low cost I won't be staying there again

Sheets not clean,the room was dirty,in the bathroom was horrible,I could not sit on the toilet,so dirty and full of mould everywhere! Doesn’t worth even one star! I had such a bad night ! Never come back!

Avoid this place. Cigarette ends on sink, empty vodka bottles, dirty walls and room stunk of smoke. Place needed upgrading 30 years ago

Arrived and immediately left to go to a different hotel because of how dirty it was. The share bathroom had poo smeared across the wall and toilet seat. The shower had mold on the floor and walls. The Sheets were stained and what seemed to be pubes on the bed sheets. It may be cheapish but spend the extra money and go somewhere better.

There’s not enough time to complain about what’s wrong with this property looks more like a crack den house than a hotel. How they’re advertised by Expedia is beyond me and it says a lot about Expedia The room was unclean toilet was broken, urine was left in the bowl. There was mould on the shower head and shower cubicle The shower cubicle had tape along the bottom of the door to act like I assume a seal I have photos and when challenged with this refused me a refund even tho I had to book somewhere else to stay Also even thought it’s down as a smoke free room the entire room smelled like stale smoke the minute I walked in, when I complained to the reception the staff seemed unbothered and said if I wanted a refund then call Expedia which when investigated claimed the room was “up to standard and no refund was due” Terrible service both from the property and Expedia

The room we booked was for 4 but wast any good for 4 and was very dirty walks and doors covered in human stuff. The shower omg was stinking and couldn’t stand in to shower at all.

On arrival a little disappointed, did not look great or welcoming , however staff were well presented and polite. Shown to first room which had other peoples luggage in, thank god our room was changed as it smelt terrible. Second room not much better, if we could have found another hotel we would have !! The door actual did not fit the gap, we had a sink in the room which not only did the water trickle out but not hot. Refused to use the shower as unpleasant, only one towel for two people. The bed was comfortable and sheets clean but only pillow per person. Did have tea and coffee facilities but took 15 mins to fill kettle. Overall it was overpriced and awful, I doubt anyone would ever go back for another stay, so it works for the management. Best thing they could do is knock it down and start again smarten the rooms up !!!

I did not get the room I booked the entry codes to the building and the room were both incorrect I booked a double en-suite room I got a family room the headboard to one of the beds was not attached and had 3inch screws sticking out which you could easily cut yourself on the shower was filthy there were no toiletries or towels also the blinds did not close only 1 tea bag to drink people coming in and out all night fire alarm went off at 12.30am as someone was smoking in the building which took 30mins to reset this was more like a halfway house not a hotel

When I arrived at the hotel the room I had been allocated was not available so I was given a different room which was not very good

Was let in, given codes for the doors, anyone could have entered. Was a nice guy who let us in. We just walked in, walked, we could have been unlucky, very dated, very basic.

Our room type was booked to have a bathroom in the room. It ended up being a shared bathroom in a dorm-type lodging, but we were assured "it's ok, nobody else is booked here. it's private for you" When someone else opened the bathroom door while it was in use, check-in staff said "what do you expect? it's a hotel of course there are other people". We were told the room we booked wasn't available because "the man from the council has it now". Upon checking in we were immediately told "I have CCTV everywhere so your car will be safe", as though it was a major concern for other travellers. Went up to the room and the door frame was falling apart, looked like the doors had been kicked in multiple times. We immediately checked out and found other accommodation

Bed broken

Room had strong smelt that it had been smoking in room,plus the people in room above was very loud,i complained to reception,they had a word with occupants,it was quiter for a while,but then continued with noise.I had to leave my room and confront some of the occupants to complain,they were standing on the stairs near my room drinking and talking loudly,this was at 2.45am.So hardly had any sleep and had to work next day,also tv didn't work properly.

I only checked in and then checked out an hour later- noisy people coming in and out- room smelt, tv did not work. I would but recommend. First time in 17 years I did not stay somewhere I booked. Should not be advertised and a refund should be issued.

No heating in the room whatsoever so room was freezing, had to sleep in my clothes, poor blinds letting all the streetlight through. No towels initially until some random men just walked in with them, no knock or warning Socket by bed not working, bedside light not working Breakfast service terrible, no cups or bowls for the drink and cereal

This property was unacceptable due to several issues: Broken chair Broken toilet seat Missing shower head Heat radiator without a controller No hooks for used towels Wouldn't recommend this property.

It was okay, nothing to rate really, clean and basic for thr money you pay its not like a typical hotel tho more like a tempory place to stay, rooms were clean, sink in bedroom was no water, toilets/showers were shared only, not enough space to swing a cat, the only down fall was kept up most of the night on friday night and saturday to people upstairs being very noisy, talking loudly, laughing too much, banging as they walked on the floor i thought there was an herd of elephants up there, never had no sleep this went on for a good few hours well until about 5am both mornings, at one point saturday night heard the said updtairs guests having loud intercourse 3 times totally no respect, no staff whatsoever there at all. Saw what looked like a few rough people. Totally felt uncomfortable on the stay even when i was staying with my partner. Never felt like that after staying in a "hotel" before, no breakfast as yiu have to go across the road to the other hotel. Didnt really rate it tbf shame really

My stay was amazing and this was made possible by the staff by name Hamza! He was super efficient and always willing to help and guide.

Absolutely shocking from start to finish. Customer service was appalling. He was too busy on his phone to even speak to me. Didn’t even apologise when I explained I wasn’t staying in a room that looked like a crack den. The fire alarms had just been silenced instead of dealing with the problem. The blinds in the room were all twisted and snapped so they didn’t close. No curtains either. The headboard was hanging off and the room smelt like a homeless person had been kipping in there for 2 weeks straight. Dirty.

Good value for money. Comfortable stay. Staff were incredibly helpful as I left a valuable item at the property, thanks to them I managed to get my item back ASAP with no additional stress or issue. I am very grateful.
