Really lovely hotel. Perfect decor, huge bathroom - felt like a treat! Nice touches of fruit and biscuits on arrival, and still and sparkling water. Very polite staff. It’s quite noisy outside as the hotel sits in front of a small parking area and strip of shops, so bring earplugs if you’re a light sleeper. Floors are quite creaky but that sort of adds to the ambiance if you don’t mind it. Doors are a little hard to lock and are quite heavy. We were in a room next to the staff cleaning cupboard (I think) so from quite early could hear them coming in and out of it. Food very nice in the restaurant downstairs. Overall, a lovely place to stay and will definitely return.

Our second stay at the Bower House and it was lovely, the added air con units were a bonus. Very disappointed however to find out that the cooked breakfast options are not included in the week only on weekends.

We stayed for two nights and we loved our stay at The Bower House! Beautiful and spacious room was a welcome surprise. The bathroom was also huge and very nice. The decor was well done and the surprise welcome cookies were a great treat. Sadly we stayed here when the restaurant was closed so we didn’t get to try it but we had dinner at their sister restaurant, The Howard Arms, and it was fantastic! I would definitely stay here again!

A very friendly welcome on arrival. Lovely room, beautiful bathroom. The area was very pretty with lots of coffee shops and bars, though not much more. A relaxing stay. Only criticism was the room was a bit cold. We were told we could turn our radiators up, but they never warmed and there wasn’t anyone at night when we got back to ask. Otherwise lovely.

I had a wonderful stay! The room is wonderfully appointed, quite large and very cozy. I was thrilled at seeing it. I'm still thinking about the amazing claw foot tub! The food at the Bower House below is absolutely delicious and the staff are incredibly kind and service-oriented. I hope I get to stay here soon again. The downtown area that the restaurant and rooms are in is so charming with many shops, restaurants, etc. I loved my three night stay

Room was huge with an extremely comfortable king sized bed. Beautifullt decorated. Large bathroom, again fitted out to a high level and with lovely products. Freshly baked cookies provided in the room on arrival, which was also a lovely touch. Staff from reception, to waiting to kitchen were engaging, attentive and friendly. This place was amazing! One of the nicest rooms we have ever stayed in! Kids had their own separate room with bunk beds which they loved. The main bedroom was stunning with a fabulous bed and facilities. The bathroom had a massive bath which filled in minutes. The separate shower room was fantastic. Cannot recommend this place enough.

We had just the one night stay at The Bower House as we were breaking our journey home. The accommodation was lovely and we had a very tasty breakfast the following morning. We were disappointed in that the evening we booked to stay the restaurant was not open as it would have been good to have dinner there and there were good reviews online.

If you plan to stay at this charming hotel do not stay Sunday through Tuesday as the hotel restaurant is not open- so check in is difficult and no food/ bar options We did love George townhouse to eat both nights we were in shipston in stour

The room was so huge, comfortable and beautiful. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The food at the restaurant below was beyond our expectation and amazing to say the least. Everything exceptionally well done! We'd love to go back every time we are in the area!

I had a wonderful stay! The room is wonderfully appointed, quite large and very cozy. I was thrilled at seeing it. I'm still thinking about the amazing claw foot tub! The food at the Bower House below is absolutely delicious and the staff are incredibly kind and service-oriented. I hope I get to stay here soon again. The downtown area that the restaurant and rooms are in is so charming with many shops, restaurants, etc. I loved my three night stay

We have been here a few times now over the last 4 years - usually for a birthday getaway - I have to say this time we weren’t overly taken by the experience. The room was really dusty and lots of cobwebs - the floor still had stains on by the bed. The flannel wasn’t clean as I went to use it and I could smell soap which was supplied in the bathroom. There wasn’t hardly and sugar cubes in the room and where the fresh milk was stood in the fridge there was mould growing - I don’t think the fridge has had a good clean for a while. On arrival the manager didn’t ask if we were staying for an occasion, just felt like there was no interest and was too busy saying if we booked direct we could of got free breakfast but as we booked via Hotels. Com it’s not included - again this didn’t capture me as good customer service - I think as a returning customer even if he offered one breakfast free as we were staying for 2 nights…. Just the small things keep customers returning!! Such a shame - I don’t think we will be returning anytime soon, I felt like you could really see corners being cut.

Great location for exploring the Cotswolds and Oxford - beautifully maintained, spacious, comfortable well equipped bedrooms. Dinner was excellent but the lack of sit down breakfast facility apart from weekends may put some people off but we found somewhere a short walk away that was good so not a big deal. Very attentive staff too.

Very nice place and great staff,room was perfect and bath and shower were excellent.the only thing I would recommend is a mattress topper as the mattress was a bit lumpy.
