Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, New Braunfels, TX

Elevator broke down, (we were on 4th floor,) air conditioner banged all night, dog barking next room….Although the beds were comfortable! Not a good stay.

Inside our room was nice and clean. The lobby and breakfast area need some cleaning and maybe updating. The elevator was broken on the first night of our trip which was tricky with getting luggage upstairs, but was fixed by the second night of our stay. I will say the rules regarding housekeeping seemed a little overkill--they only clean the room every three days, and you have to take your dirty towels to the front desk to get replacements--we only got 3 towels for your 4 person room... We have stayed here before, but will probably pick somewhere different for our next trip.

I really like the size of the rooms and the comfortable beds. The furniture in the lobby was obviously worn in spots. The front desk person was a little rude. She talked so fast I could barely understand her. When I said so, she just stared at me - no apology or "I will slow down". Later when I told her the public restroom on first floor was out of paper towels she said "we are out" that's it - not I'm sorry, we will fill it as soon as we can or our shipment comes in etc..

Terrible, the elevator did not work, I had to switch rooms because of a very loud noise coming from the room telephone, in the morning they only had decaf coffee in the room and when we complaint to the front desk, the attendant was terribly rude.

Nice entry and location but very evident of remodel still in progress.

The fire pit was not working and the room did not have a remote.

We were in the area for a student drop off, and decided to here for the night. We were disappointed to say the least. The lone elevator was having problems so there were a couple of times where we had to wait a while to get on. The sign that rooms were cleaned only once every 3 days were a bit off putting as well. There was about 1/5th of a roll of toilet paper in the bathroom with no other rolls in the room. Finally, we woke up and noticed reddish bugs in the two beds. Some were dead but we found a couple that were alive. Yeah they were bedbugs. We ended up just getting out as soon as possible.

Clean facilities. Great breakfast

It qould be nice to have additional parking for larger vehicles

Property needed to have the common area carpet replaced on hallways - rooms were clean but could also use an update. Bed was comfortable - shower not great and bath towels are thin - not my favorite.

The room they gave us was dirty. I’m talking linens stripped and dirty on the floor along with junk left from previous people. We went down and the front gave us a new room. That room was in order but clearly rthe floors were unmopped and a stain on comforter. Just eww

I didn’t like the smell that the whole hotel has I don’t return back

The room was very dirty. There were long strands of dark hair all throughout the bedding and in the bathroom. Had to get a clean set of bedding to make the bed myself. There was also a huge blob of hair on the dirty laminate floor that was clearly not cleaned. The fridge was broken and the tv had lines down the front from damage. I will never stay or recommend this hotel. Should be called a motel.

Property/room were terrible. Bedding had blood on it, chair was stained everywhere, cabinets were falling off the hinges, walls were dirty and had chipped paint everywhere.

Staff was exceptional. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. Room was dirty, took the ice bucket out to use it and it smelled like vomit or something gross. Shower had mold around the bottom. One of our pillow cases had dried blood on it. The bedding was bad, not comfortable or warm. We have stayed here in the past and never had these issues, hope this was a one off, but don’t think we will be up to take the chance again.

Average stay, served the purpose. AC above us was very loud. Could here room next door moving around and closing bathroom door and using the water, etc. Room was average but smelled musty and very damp the whole time. Brkfst looked good, but lady didn’t know what was in the gravy to avoid a food allergy so I avoided it. Receptionist got the job done but wasn’t friendly or conversational like the one we had last time we were there that was really friendly.

The property does not have housekeeping staff on weekends. Weekends are the busiest times for any hotel and to not have adequate housekeeping is concerning. There were lots of different types of hair on the bedding including pillows and sheets. The floors had not been swept prior to our arrival and there was a lot of hair on the floor in the bathroom. There were not enough towels to accommodate each guest. We had to take dirty towels down to the guest services desk to switch for a clean towel. The towels were white but did not appear to be clean. Overall the stay was not what we expected. We are a traveling club volleyball family and we’ve stayed in many hotels and this was by far the worst experience we’ve had. We will not be back.

There were roaches in the mini fridge of my room and the comforters had stains on them

Everything was fine except that there was no hot water the morning of my departure.

We were placed in a handicap room. Only half the lights worked, the walk in shower has a gap of about 8 inches from the bottom of the curtain and it flooded the bathroom out into the room. The AC didn’t work but room temp was comfortable. Bed was really comfy but the pillows were horrible.

The location was awesome but the walls are thin in room so if you are a light sleeper, this is not the place to stay or bring your ear plugs.

The room was clean and comfortable, but the shower had terrible low water pressure. It wasn’t more than a trickle, but at least it was hot. Employees were friendly and helpful. Overall, everything was fine for a one night stay.

Hotel is nice and clean. My only complaint is the noise from the highway, and you can hear everything in the hallways.

Shower was a disaster. No water pressure and the shower floor was so slick I fell down

First,upon walking into my room after check in, the AC was completely off, curtains open and the room was 80 degrees. It is July in Texas, the AC should be at least set to 75. Fortunately, I had somewhere to be right after check in so I turned on my AC and left.When I returned, it had cooled off some but it was still uncomfortably warm. I contacted the front desk, she explained that it was normal, took me to a room down the hall to see if it was cooler and of course it wasn’t because the system was off. She turned it on and it never actually turned on. She offered to move us to another room but it was late and I didn’t want to wait hours for another room to cool off so I could sleep. The owner must need to save a few bucks but he certainly isn’t spending it upgrading the rooms.The room itself is in rough shape. It desperately needs upgrading and repairs done. The toilet seat was broken, the shower head was sticking out of a hole in the wall, the leather part of the headboard was torn, the bottom of the bathroom door had chipped paint. Last, housekeeping needs to be retrained on how to clean a room properly. There were rings on the surface indicative of a cup sitting there so that surface hadn’t been wiped down, same with the desk. The shower head was completely crusted over with grime and hard water, hair on the counter and most importantly NO toilet paper. This hotel is priced far above what it’s worth. It should be priced as a Super 8 or similar bc that’s the quality it is

There was a problem with the bed springs on one side of the bed. It made a terrible noise when getting in or out of bed. The shower was completely unusable. The water pressure was terrible, making it impossible to get soap rinsed out of my hair. The shower head was rusted and/or clogged and looked very old. It needs to be replaced. The entire room needs to be inspected.

Not happy with the horrible water pressure at the bathroom sink. Could barely brush your teeth. Told the front desk and they were just Oh Well all our bathrooms are like that. The threshold in the room was broken and could have cut a foot, there was a broken picture in rhe bathroom!! Front desk was not concerned. So not good!!

Staff was very friendly especially the lady that checked us in.

Room not ready due to lack of staff. Shower had previous occupants hair in it. One half of of king size bed really squeeked. To get new towels we had to take our own dirty towels to the front desk. Manager on duty in the morning was beyond rude. She was disrespectful, condescending, made statements then contradicted them within same conversation, accused me of cussing at her when I did not, accused me of being non-responsive to her attempts to reach me (she had my phone number and never once called). I can’t imagine having that type of person representing your establishment. I paid real money to stay there.

We booked about 90 min before checking in - when we arrived we were tired - but the staff could not check us in due to their system being down. We choose to go eat close by. When we returned still no check in - we sat in the Lobby - I had confirmation on my phone but she was not able to use that. She finally gave us a room then called our room an hour later to have us come sign in. It was not the staff persons problem if their system went down but if a person can prove they have a reservation they should give them a room right away. It was a long wait - we were on the road all day and were very tired - I will think twice before booking at country inn and suites again- hotel was clean and comfortable but the waiting was not called for.

Customer service was not acceptable in my experience. Front desk hostess was ill coughing. She did not greet me. She told me I had to pay $50 incidental, and that it would be on hold for 3 to 10 days. I asked her why this was to be held for so long? In my previous experience, this was never the case. She said she just worked there. I asked to talk to her manager and when I talked to the manager, the manager was just as unfriendly. The manager told me I was the only person that ever complained about this. The Manager (Angel) told the front desk clerk to cancel our room and told us to get a room elsewhere. When we said we did not want to do that, it’s fine, we’ll pay the $50 on for incidentals, Angel the manager, who was on the phone, kept saying to cancel it. Finally we got a room. When we got to the room, the door was wide open number 417 and the room had not been cleaned. The bed was not made. We made our way back to the front desk and asked for a different room that was clean. We travel many many places, and this has been the first time I’ve ever been treated with this disregard of empathy. What happened to the guest being taken care of and being treated kindly?

I reserved two rooms at this property 4 months ago and when I arrived to check in at 5pm they claimed there was a glitch in the system and had no rooms available. Their claim was that they never received my reservation, but they had my name printed on a paper sitting on their desk with my reservation for two rooms, once I pointed this out they changed their story saying it was Expedia's fault and they only found out about my reservation yesterday. I asked why I was never contacted and they had no answer. They did not try to help us in any way and told us there was nothing they could do. Luckily I found rooms available at another hotel. Two hours after I tried to check in they called me trying to up sell me for two rooms that magically became available I obviously did not take that offer. Absolutely horrible experience with people who DO NOT belong in the hospitality industry at all in any manor.

It was easy to get in and out of. We were only there a few hours so it was perfect. Room was clean and front office staff was super helpful.

The property was great! The assistant manager at the property saved the day because Orbitz failed to send them our reservation even though Orbitz collected the entire cost of the room! I do NOT recommend using Orbitz to anyone. I had to spend over 3.5 hours on the phone before I got my refund!

Absolutely terrible. Expedia and Country Inn and Suites couldn’t get on the same page. The front desk at the hotel couldn’t find our reservation and was no help at all in resolving the issue. Expedia tried contacting the hotel and was not able to get a response for an hour. Since we didn’t receive a response from Country Inn and Suites, Expedia booked us a hotel elsewhere and upgraded our room. We were met with a friendly and helpful front desk at our new hotel.

We’ve stayed here before and had a great experience so we decided to try it again when we came into town with some friends. Staff was friendly and lobby was clean. Room seemed a bit run down but you could tell they had tried to make updates. The walls are thin…you can hear every door open and close around you. There was hardly any water pressure in the shower or sink. Breakfast was ok, they had the usual - waffles, biscuits, sausage, etc. It was a place to sleep, but we were a bit disappointed because the previous stay was so nice. We didn’t contact the front desk because we knew there wasn’t anything they could do.

Hotel was definitely no frills. The coffee was good, breakfast was good, minus the waffles (the dough never cooked all the way), didn't have scrambled eggs or omelettes. The beds were comfy and the room was clean. The bathroom needed an upgrade or just repairs. The bathtub was old and had seen better days, the door facing was worn out.... Just wear and tear that hadn't been kept up with.

Good all around hotel. Reception was good as was the room, very comfortable bed and a very nice breakfast.

Room was pretty clean, I’m not sure if it’s just me but hotel cleanliness has gone down hill. They only clean your room every 3 days or if you request it and it’s not promised. They also charged me an extra $50 on top of my price and deposit and said it was a “system error.” Breakfast was mediocre. Both days they served the same thing, NO EGGS. Thermostat in the room won’t change the temp it was just on and off, no in-between. But it wasn’t terrible and it was a decent price. I think next time I’ll just pay the $50 extra and stay at holiday inn

Very clean, everyone is really kind and polite. The breakfast is amazing! REAL gravy w/the biscuits and gravy! It's 10 minutes from the downtown area.

Staff friendly. Room was clean but was some visible damage to the room. Back of bathroom door was curled up and paint peeling. This was probably due to fact that there is no fan in bathroom. There were a few tiles missing on floor molding. Breakfast was decent.
