American Motel - Lenoir

After thinking about it for hours, the front parking lot was well lit Everything else was awful.

The American Motel is staffed by Indians from India , grandma and I’m thinking she’s not willing to learn English. It that part of the state they could hire several young ladies to man the front desk and improve thing tremendously. Ice machine was not working . Contract for room unreadable , supplies for room were not replenished during 3day stay ie plastic cups or coffee cups. The overall condition of the room was clean the appearance of the grounds and building were dated , but no real complaints

This property was dirty. There was blood stains on matress and mold on shower curtains. The stains in the bathroom and on the door were disgusting. No wifi code. My biggest gripe was she charged 60.00 pet fee. Like no had spent more than 15 minutes cleaning that room ...ever. What was going to do with the pet fee. Certainly not waste that money on cleaning the room.

The ice machine was broken and looked as if it had been for awhile. The manager kept calling me and harassing me about being in my room and where to park my car. I didn’t drive there so I didn’t even have a car to park there.

The hotel was fine but there was no hot water on the morning I checked out. The desk was told but didn't offer to do anything.

Booked online but they did not have the reservation causing a very long checkin time and had to check in outside in the cold because they close the lobby. No true “continental breakfast”. Toast, bagels, and cereal only. Coffee is taken down at 9:30am, it provided all day. Many amenities listed that are not provided including WiFi

Great place to stay for the price. Easy parking lot, lots of parking.

Ash tray wasn't washed out the walls dirty, the air conditioning barely worked, the bathroom I had to re clean, one lamp didn't have a bulb and the other didn't have a switch, had a window shade as a table toper and looked dirty place was not cleaned well this place has really went down heal on things I was happy about was there were no bugs yet

The hotel looked nice on the outside and the people were friendly, but when I checked the mattress both the bed cover and the cover on the mattress had stains all over them. I was told that they do wash them, but these were set in stains and a few looked similar to old urine type stains. The others were brown and darker set in stains. I'm not sure what the cause of these were. There were also stains on the walls and the lamp had cotton coming out of the shade. The leather lazy boy was nice, the mattress was soft and comfortable before I saw the stains. My comfort level with it changed after that. Also the phone did not work at all, but I was able to go out to the front desk to alert them to the state of the bed clothes. Sadly, nothing could be changed due to the time at night. I spoke to the night person who was apologizing, but when they called the off site manager once they refused to refund me and would only offer another room. I left. This morning I went to talk with the hotel owner to express my desire for a refund and the conditions of the room. The Indian lady wagged her finger in my face and told me that were fun after 15 minutes and went to the back room and when I proceed to Speak to her politely about my concerns, she proceeded to ignore me and make herself as far away from me as possible. I would firmly not recommend staying here to anybody and if they do not correct these issues for the future it might be best if this place closes up.

Our room had a terrible smell. I asked for a room spray. The lady at the desk was unfriendly and very rude. We will not stay there again

The bed was not changes look like someone done the nasty and urine everywhere. Do not stay here very nasty. Health department should condemned. This place. I was only in that room for 5 minutes and ran out. Very NASTY.

The room was a dump. The chairs at the table were wet with I dont know what?

Room needed repai/painting, mattresses not firm and HVAC wall unit noisy at night.

i had a problem with the cable box at 2am.

The 1st shift lady is a totally rude person. She does absolutely nothing for you cant even greet you with a smile upon checking in. When you have traveled all day and need some rest time with a 4 and 6 yr old and your tv wont work her solution is lady will be in at 8pm she will fix then. The lady came up around 7pm but my wife had went online and after putting different codes in got the remote to work. The tv didnt have a power button so we couldnt turn it on to program the remote to it so had to work around that issue. The night shift lady is super sweet and friendly. Breakfast is cereal, bread slices individually wrapped with saran wrap, as well as bagels. Peanut butter is a jar of peanut butter kept in a fridge, had butter and a jar of jelly. No fruit, No juice, No waffle iron just a cereal, toast or bagel.

It was a decent place to sleep. Nothing fancy about it and not really convenient to much. A little high oriced fkr what you get.

The night staff was amazing she truly was great.. the morning staff was a nightmare! Told me there was breakfast and told me to sit.. i was waiting for 30 minutes and i saw her walking around barefoot in the lobby.. absolutely disgusting.. the location was nice decently kept room was cozy and comfortable…

Door was horrible to open. Couldn’t take a bath, no stopper and only 1 wash cloth for 2 people.

This is the third time that I stayed at this location. I was disappointed with the maintenance in the room and bathroom. Housekeeping came in before 7 o’clock one morning while I was still in bed - without knocking. I was eating breakfast and she turned off the lights, but I was sitting there. The front desk staff was very nice as usual and the bed is very comfortable and clean.

The front desk lady did not want us there. My husband went outside to smoke and she got very angry with us and when I asked her why she was angry she said no smoking in the room! He didn’t smoke in the room he was smoking outside but she became very frustrated and said only for 1 night ok stay then would get angry again and say no smoking. I really don’t think smoking was the issue I think she had other problems but was taking it out on us! She gave me back my paperwork and told us to leave

I didn't like that the lady at the front desk was rude to me when I couldn't understand what she was saying. I told her my name and that I had a reservation and she said I wasn't in the computer. It would have been nice if she spoke English.

We arrived and there was no greeting just asked if we had a reservation I said we did and she said she couldn't find it and I told her that I had a reservation I pulled up the reservation number on my phone and she was like really just nasty then when we went to check out this morning I tried to tell her that the bathroom water valve for the toilet was leaking every time you flushed it it would squirt water and she just like she couldn't be bothered if it were up to me and I was part of your organization I would seriously consider dropping this hotel from your list of properties

The owner is very mean

I booked a smoking room 6 days in advance. When I got there at 8:30pm they had no smoking rooms and refused to give me a non smoking room. I had to find another place to stay. The woman at the desk was very helpful in helping me find another place. The manager or owner is the one who refused me, the woman that helped me felt awful.

Breakfast was very poor, coffee always empty, milk was in half gallon jug everybody handled and no juice of any kind.

At check in the Front Desk was less than friendly , very argumentative when asked a question . Motel is very run down . I asked about the breakfast being included and was informed it was coffee cereal and some rolls . I choose to go to McDonald's every morning . I was informed there was no house keeping on Saturday and Sunday .
