Lovely, bathroom could have been a bit cleaner in terms of damp walls needing to be wiped clean. Spa was beautiful but the general temperature was far too hot and could not stay in the area for long to relax as I would have hoped as it was a little u comfortable. Otherwise a good place to stay

Lovely clean property in a gorgeous location in Salcombe. All the staff were friendly and our room had a partial view of the estuary which was lovely. The parking is a bit off putting as it’s on a steep slope and limited but the staff do take care of that when you arrive and can park your car for you. I had to ask for our beds to be twinned on 3 different occasions. Not the end of the world we still had a lovely stay. Loved the spa facilities which were lovely and clean. The dinner in the Jetty was also lovely. Can’t fault the staff they were all polite and decent. I would recommend a stay here, it’s in a gorgeous part of the world, you can’t beat the Cornish coast!

Excellent staff throughout hotel. Complimentary Salcombe gin in room a nice touch, but to charge for the tonic which probably costs 50p destroys any positive gained from providing the gin, a decision made by a number cruncher not someone with sales and hospitality intuition. Used the pool which was clean and a good size, again great staff. Just need to remove stools in pool by window, it’s not a bar and no view, so serve no purpose and are dangerous when swimming. Shame no real sign of local produce on breakfast and dinner menus.

Bad - For the price paid the room was not overly clean - coffee stains on the radiator and hair in bath from previous occupant. Dust in bathroom. Although the view from the room was superb the balcony was poorly maintained with rust stains everywhere including the small table provided. Continental breakfast very limited. Additional £10 charge for cooked breakfast was insulting for £350 room charge per night. Parking charge of £10 per night also insulting. Would not return to this hotel.

Bed was hard and I was crippled from sleeping but my main issue was with the spa. I booked this hotel as a relaxing couples holiday but it was ruined by kids playing in the jacuzzi. There was a sign saying no kids under 16 yet there were 12 year olds in the jacuzzi. When I complained no one did anything, they just said ‘kids can go in the pool til 4’. I said ‘the jacuzzi’ but they ignored me. My masseuse’s phone went off half way through my treatment

Superb hotel and we will keep returning. Wonderful staff, comfortable beds and great TV. Food is delicious and of course stunning views. Great to be right by the ferry and all the shops, the beaches are amazing. Gorgeous walks on the doorstep and so nice to have the pool.

Excellent stay. Great staff, very helpful, polite and really couldn’t do enough for you. The hotel was in a great location. Superb views, very clean and well presented throughout. The spa and treatment rooms were again exceptional. Breakfast was a continental style. Again, no food issues. Note: you do have to pay extra for an English breakfast etc….. Overall great value for money and would recommend. I’m sure we will return.

Lovely hotel, but was surprised when we came back from swimming someone was cleaning the cups and glasses in the bathroom sink and drying them out on the radiator, ready for the next people. I had assumed that all glasses and cups would have been dish washed for hygiene.

We had a 3 night stay in a partial eclipse room,costing £1125.02, so a cost of £375 per night. Our room was rather underwhelming for that price. It was overlooking the car park so not particularly relaxing to sit on the balcony. At night times it was noisy as it was above the hotel entrance so anyone leaving or chatting to friends was frustratingly heard from our room. At £375 per night I was expecting more for our money. Also I don't think that when you pay that price you should be charged an extra £10 at breakfast if you want a cooked breakfast ! I have previously stayed at the sister hotel, Harbour Beach and spa which I think it a lot nicer. The staff are great and very attentive. However, due to the poor value for money we won't be returning. We mentioned the room to the receptionisht when we checked out as she asked how the stay was so I thought we should give our honest opinion. She knocked £100 off our bill but on reflection this really was not enough seeing how much we had paid to stay.

We stayed for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, the staff were very friendly, food good and location very convenient for Salcombe. Our room was what is called 'cosy' and indeed, it was small! The hotel has a unique feature of a turntable for cars however we did not use it. The only issue was the lack of aircon which in summer is now probably a necessity and the small fan was not really adequate.

The Hotel was welcoming, clean and well presented. Our issue was our room 303. On entering the room it was very hot. We opened windows straight away and on doing so we realised that a vey noisy kitchen extractor or some sort of fan system was right outside our window, as well as the room windows were on road level. The staff member who showed us to the room mentioned the heat and said they were fully booked and directed us to a fan and recomendend using it. This was an old fashioned fan which was also noisy. We did return to reception and complained about thr heat and noise. Again we were told the hotel was full. We had an aweful nights sleep as the room was very hot and noisy. We again returned to reception in the morning to complain politely and look to move rooms. We were given another fan and told the hotel was full. Needless to say, we had 2 aweful nights sleep and were offered nothing but inadequate fans and apologies from the staff. We dont for on minute blame the staff, but this room needs condeming. It was presentable but not appropriate for a hotel break. My wife and I celebrating our anniversary were pretty devastated and were offered no resolution and this experience spoilt our weekend.

The staff were all friendly and helpful. The property is perfectly placed overlooking the river, with a number of vantage points. It is also an easy walk into Salcombe, with parking on site. Only downside is that we had an inland facing room and it was quite noisy on the road from fairly early morning.

I was delighted with the vegan menu, as it meant I didn't have to search for dining options elsewhere. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and highly recommend this hotel.

When we reminded them, we were told it was “first come, first serve.” On the night of our celebration, we weren’t seated until past 8pm (despite a 7:15pm reservation), and the table eventually offered was clearly an afterthought. Not our first time staying in a harbour hotel, and on the whole we weren't disappointed, but there were a couple of frustrating elements which were easily avoided. Firstly, there was one member of staff (a young man) who stuck out like a sore thumb in his attitude. All the other staff were helpful and polite, this person was the exact opposite - rude, unhelpful, entirely unvolunteering to help, and even sarcastically said no when I asked for my car keys... Secondly, at no point during the process (booking, call before arrival, on arrival, when keys were left, in the car park, in the hotel room etc) did anyone mention the £10 per night charge for the car park. Apart from not being told, I would not expect to pay £250 for a night in Salcombe in early December to then be slapped with an additional £10 car parking charge - comfortably put a sour taste in our mouths on check out. Thirdly - on enjoyment of the spa facilities we were then rudely interrupted by 14 young children coming into the spa, running up and down opening privacy curtains and making such a noise that all adults were forced to leave. Again, warning on arrival, board near the spa, at the spa reception etc to avoid these times. On the whole, the property is in an excellent location, is well maintained and the staff (generally) are very helpful and attentive. Shame the above spoiled the experience.

Bed was hard and I was crippled from sleeping but my main issue was with the spa. I booked this hotel as a relaxing couples holiday but it was ruined by kids playing in the jacuzzi. There was a sign saying no kids under 16 yet there were 12 year olds in the jacuzzi. When I complained no one did anything, they just said ‘kids can go in the pool til 4’. Great location in the middle of all the action. Very comfortable bed and good quality leisure facilities. They were refurbishing floors but tried to minimize impact. The staff are the true gift - everyone was very welcoming and very professional yet personal.

The staff were all friendly and helpful. The property is perfectly placed overlooking the river, with a number of vantage points. It is also an easy walk into Salcombe, with parking on site. Only downside is that we had an inland facing room and it was quite noisy on the road from fairly early morning.

We had a 3 night stay in a partial eclipse room,costing £1125.02, so a cost of £375 per night. Our room was rather underwhelming for that price. It was overlooking the car park so not particularly relaxing to sit on the balcony. At night times it was noisy as it was above the hotel entrance so anyone leaving or chatting to friends was frustratingly heard from our room. At £375 per night I was expecting more for our money. Also I don't think that when you pay that price you should be charged an extra £10 at breakfast if you want a cooked breakfast ! I have previously stayed at the sister hotel, Harbour Beach and spa which I think it a lot nicer. The staff are great and very attentive. However, due to the poor value for money we won't be returning. We mentioned the room to the receptionisht when we checked out as she asked how the stay was so I thought we should give our honest opinion. She knocked £100 off our bill but on reflection this really was not enough seeing how much we had paid to stay.

the Hotel was fine and the service okay. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the estuary which had a nice view and got the the sun in the morning and afternoon. We had dinner the first night which was good. My only concern was the cost. We are retired and frequently holiday/travel and so stay in numerous miserly 4 and 5 star hotels. So the nightly cost of £400 seemed extremely high for this trip especially as you had to pay an extra £10 for a cooked breakfast and got charged 12.5% service charge in the restaurant! We recently stayed in Padstow at another of the same chain of hotels and paid only £140 per night? So overall nice break apart from the cost which would put me off returning.

Salcombe Harbour Hotel certainly didn’t disappoint. Having stayed in Harbour Hotels before we knew it would be good but it really was exceptional. The service from start to finish was superb, the room not overly big but incredibly comfortable and the balcony with seating and a sunbed (plus lucky to have some nice English weather during our visit) made the room with the stunning view just perfect. We had breakfast in bed two mornings, and each day it was brought absolutely on time and piping hot, with excellent quality sausages, bacon and eggs. We ate in the restaurant on our first night and in the. Ar on our second, having decided to stay within the hotel the second night rather than eat locally because it would have been difficult to have beaten the food and service. The bar food was again exceptional, and even on a Friday night without a booking, there was no difficulty getting seated, served and it was fantastic. Overall we couldn’t have been happier with the stay. Particular mention needs to go to Jason and the team in the restaurant whose service was practically the best we have ever had. We will definitely be back.

We could not get the shower to do overhead only in room 504. The other flexible shower head was always on. This was not the case in the gym shower, the flexible could be turned off . It was not a problem but its something that needs fixing. The light controls were a bit confusing, some instructions by the light switches would help. Sound proofing was not as good as it should be for a quality hotel, we could hear coughing from the next room during the night. Otherwise the hotel was excellent in cleanliness and organisation.

The spa was very clean; the pool was a decent size as were the sauna and steam rooms. We had dinner in the restaurant. However, when ordering, there were some things on the menu that were no longer available. For a hotel of this size, this should not happen! The prices were rather inflated. There was a set menu that guests who had an inclusive rate could use, however, we did not have this option and so had to order from the a la carte offering. The inclusive continental breakfast was good, with a good choice of items.

Lovely hotel but a few things need sorting out. We had a large crack in the sink, chip on the bath and the carpets need a good clean. Staff and food were excellent. Car parking is difficult as it's on a steep hill and not a lot of room with large cars.

The staff were lovely - helpful And friendly! Our party booked 3 rooms - all over £300 per night. Our room was 110 - very small but all we needed - the bathroom was about a foot from the bed with a door that we had to ask to have closed as it was stuck in its railings. In our 3rd night (17/09) a large group Arrived - we were not warned or advised that this group planned evening entertainment that concluded at 2am. As our room was so close to where they were on the terrace, we enjoyed the full effect of drunken singing and shouting. My wife finally went up to Reception at just before 2am and the manager on duty did get them to go to bed at that point. We did receive an apology the next day. Our room down by the Spa plus all those on our corridor were affected. Our other 2 rooms were not. The staff were lovely - helpful And friendly! Our party booked 3 rooms - all over £300 per night. Our room was 110 - very small but all we needed - the bathroom was about a foot from the bed with a door that we had to ask to have closed as it was stuck in its railings. In our 3rd night (17/09) a large group Arrived - we were not warned or advised that this group planned evening entertainment that concluded at 2am. As our room was so close to where they were on the terrace, we enjoyed the full effect of drunken singing and shouting. My wife finally went up to Reception at just before 2am and the manager on duty did get them to go to bed at that point. We did receive an apology the next day. Our room down by the Spa plus all those on our corridor were affected. Our other 2 rooms were not. I also found that charging £10 for a cooked breakfast when the rooms were so expensive a bit of a cheek.
