Amazing location and beautiful views. Friendly staff. Concierge service was lacking and reception hard to get hold of at times. Annoyingly, children are only allowed in the pool a few hours a day around meal times, this was frustrating as it lists having a children's pool. Also, everything is extra, you have to pay for hot breakfast and the continental is mostly sweet. Other than that, we loved our stay.

The hotel was very nice - shame about the car parking, no idea why we had to leave out car keys behind the reception desk, it wasn't although they had completed valet parking, we were also told that we could leave out car in the car park till 1pm when we checked out but after only 1 hour they changed there mind and stated it needed to be moved straight away, frustrated and disappointed.! The attitude of the front desk staff, who where happy to do their jobs but didn't come across as friendly or helpful but more officious in their actions and verbal communications. Improvements need to be made to the hotel to make it more smooth running.

Have just enjoyed a 3 night stay with a friend. Beautiful hotel in unique location in quiet South Sands beachy cove. Lots of ways to get to Salcombe town centre either walking (a bit hilly), hotel shuttle car or water ferry. Rooms have stunning decor and bathrooms are very well appointed. Service throughout the hotel is excellent and very friendly. Enjoyed both breakfast and dinner in the hotel restaurant. Good value & again great service throughout but with particular mention of lovely service from Rebecca. Views are gorgeous from the restaurant, hotel rooms with sea view, outside raised terrace and nice sun loungers at road level. Very nice spa pool area with jacuzzi, sauna & steam room. We used the treatment room at the town centre Harbour Hotel for massage & facials because we booked the stay last minute so no availability at the Beach Club. Recommend booking restaurant times & spa treatments ahead. The last few miles of roads into South Sands are narrow and need a bit of negotiating! Would happily return another time.

The hotel is fairly new and therefore really modern and clean. There is a spa on site which is ideal after a days walking. The free shuttle bus into the heart of Salcombe is a great idea as the walk does involve a few steep hills although this is how we travelled into Salcombe most days. The hotel is right on the beach and is in a very quiet location. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. If like us you come here in the winter and you want to walk in and out of Salcombe then remember to take a torch with you as it is pitch black and a mobile may not be sufficient.

Booked a single night. All the staff at the beach Club were very willing and friendly. The condition of our room was excellent. The bed exceptionally comfortable. Excellent shower. We used the spa facilities, which were not very busy except for the family swim period between 4 and 6pm (but it was during school, holidays). We would recommend the included continental breakfast. There was lots of choice and quality of the food was excellent.

Hotel and staff were very good, it was a shame the spa swimming pool was very cold and not relaxing at all. No hot water for a shower in the morning and breakfast was poor (slow service, no glasses and all juices dispersers empty). Staff kept apologising saying they were very busy and doing their best. Not what you would expect from a hotel aiming for the high end market. Cannot fault cleanliness or facilities.

Terrible impression upon arrival, we arrived a little early and were made to feel as it was a great imposition. The rooms were really small and shabby, the main problem was the cleanliness, dirty carpets dirty windows dust everywhere, mould in the shower, I could go on. Meals in the restaurant were mediocre, pub standard and overpriced £12 for a pot of tea for 2 plus obligatory 12.5% service charge on everything. Paid extra for breakfast to be included only to find £10 pp extra if you wanted a cooked breakfast. I am aware there is a profit to be made, however, it felt as though they were trying to extract as much money as possible.Overall impression, this hotel was poorly managed not enough cleaning staff etc. Plus point great location.

Fantastic location and views but Very disappointed there was no mattress protector on the bed and the mattress heavily stained we didn’t spot this until the next morning and actually made us feel sick. Also the bathroom door being a sliding door was very heavy and awkward to open and close Both items really need attention

It was extremely friendly and relaxed. Very tasteful in every way. Calm and the staff all seemed to love working there and were always smiling and attentive. The rooms were very comfortable and clean with lovely touches. Cannot praise this hotel enough. All the staff members were very helpful and friendly especially Adie. Absolutely loved this three night break.

Brilliant location, beautifully placed for scenery and beaches, yet managing to feel you had ample of privacy. Very clean! Great facilities, a lovely spa! Great breakfast, very friendly staff, who go the extra mile! Really enjoyable experience 10/10! We will be highly recommending this hotel! Thank you to all the amazing staff!

The hotel itself was lovely but we went out our room at 9am & returned at 2:15pm only to find it wasn't cleaned!! When we complained reception said they would get the cleaning organised but when we returned it had been cleaned to a point ! None of the tables had been cleaned, tea & sugar not refilled, balcony not cleaned & bed not done very well Such a shame for a lovely looking hotel They also brag about the Spa but yet again the cleaning let things down; in and around the Jacuzzi the white grout was green!!

We loved the location, very quiet when we were there. Beautiful setting. Excellent service from reception. Our sea view room was stunning. The whole hotel was immaculate. The spa area was so lovely. Our only feedback is about plant based options at the continental breakfast.

Fantastic stay overall, the location is perfect and the bed was honestly one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in. The staff were brilliant too; despite what some previous reviews have said, the restaurant team may be young, but they’re extremely welcoming, hardworking, and far from inexperienced. Just a small note for future guests: if you prefer a more filling breakfast, be prepared to pay an extra £10 for the full option, as the continental selection is quite limited. That said, everything offered was very fresh and nicely presented. Overall, a wonderful experience and highly recommended.

Firstly, this is a wonderful hotel. Lots of thought has been put into the design and style of the hotel. Our room (303) was a lovely, well designed and spacious room. It was a shame there is no lift access to this floor and it is quite a distance from the lift with luggage. We didn't have hand soap in the room and when we advised reception, they informed us there was some in the shower (body wash) - not exactly a 5* response but someone did bring up some hand soap but we were aware other rooms had liquid hand soap, just not sure why ours didn't. The spa was a great space to relax. Again, it would have probably been a good idea if the reception had advised 'children's hour at 4.30pm' on check in, which may have encouraged us to visit earlier (as it was quite noisy). The food generally was OK. The wait times were often 25-35 minutes - fine if you are not in a rush. Breakfast was a little disappointing, the cooked breakfast was just about warm rather than hot. Poached eggs were hard...it's not difficult to get these small things right, especially for a 5* hotel. Overall - a lovely visit.

Such a great hotel and perfect setting. Breakfast was great, bar was great, & dinner was great. We loved our room with the sea view & balcony. Bathroom was very well put together. Can’t wait to return, was exactly what we needed to get away for a kid free weekend. Highly recommend.

The hotel and staff were amazing. We were well looked after. The Spa was also great and so was the restaurant. Only issue we had was air con in the room was noisy but we told Reception and said they would look into it.

A friendly greeting and offer of help with our luggage was a great start. This is a modern hotel with superb views over the Salcombe Estuary. The room was very comfortable with all as you would expect. Mini bar, tea making, coffee pod machine etc Complimentary Salcombe gin and tonic on arrival plus ice delivered each night was great. The staff were excellent and helpful. A great Spa and pool. High standards set by friendly staff

Ok, location exceptional, staff friendliness was the best we have experienced, really great, rooms were nice with the most comfortable beds we have ever stayed in. Then it comes to food, sadly no where near what you would expect for this priced property, could not get an English breakfast right despite returning 3 times meaning finning apart on a couples break, quality was poor and hit that you actually have to pay more on top of your room rate, the evening meals were poor although only dined once but was not prepared to try a second time, all in all a nice break but need some serious overhaul in the kitchen, one last thing try to avoid rooms 1-8 as the corridor has a drainage issue, not pleasant to wake up to at over £400 a night

This hotel has stunning views of the sea and beach. The hotel is modern and well laid out. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Food expensive but tasty. Continental breakfast was very good with an option for cooked food at an extra price. Swimming pool was very nice and spa area great. Criticisms: No hot water in shower twice. Fridge in wardrobe was very noisy. Room with interconnecting door meant I could hear the people talking from next door.

Fantastic room upgrade to a beautiful sea view that we were very thankful for. Perhaps the most comfy hotel bed I’ve slept in. Superb breakfast and friendly staff all round. Very happy overall and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

We loved the location of the property and the style but we were really dissapointed that we paid almost £150 more to have a 'sea view' room rather than a valley view. We were in room 1 and yes you could see the sea but through the reception glass and there were seats in front of the balcony. This was really dissapointing and sadly meant we did not feel comfortable sitting out and we couldnt really see the sea if we did - just the flow of people in and out of the reception area. Other than this we liked the property. We would not take the risk of booking a 'sea view' room in future sadly

We had a lovely stay. We stayed in a beach view accessible room as my wife was in crutches we hoped this would make the stay more comfortable. The room was lovely but we did notice a few things that would have made it difficult for a wheelchair user (peddle bin in the bathroom, shower gels etc. on the far bathroom wall to the shower). The gin is a lovely welcome gift, but note you’ll need to buy tonic from the bar or mini bar.

The hotel is beautiful but I’m not sure I would stay again. The music played in the lounge/bar was horrible not in keeping with the hotel clientele, obviously for the benefit of the staff. The food selection is limited and the quality poor, my evening meal and hot breakfast were dry with little taste. The distance into Salcombe requires transportation and the hotel shuttle only has four seats so you are very lucky if you can get the time you want. I’m not sure why there’s an aversion to Cabernet Sauvignon but the wine by the glass is not for a wine drinker. I asked that the discretionary service charge be removed from my final bill. Gratuity is earned and not in my opinion a subsidy to the hotel coffers. Although the hotel is only a few years old it’s not getting the TLC it needs, as an example the curtains in our room are already in need of attention.

we stayed for 2 nights from 29 June to 1st July , the room was spacious and clean , the bathroom was very nice. but the service was very bad the young ladies totally ignored me when I went for and was trying to tell them my room number they carried on chatting to each other like I was invisible , i just walked away i found this extremely rude . when we booked the room it said that breakfast was included but that was not the case , they demanded we pay £10 extra for hot cooked breakfast which was very misleading . the room was £305 per night which was very expensive but to charge guests extra for “ cooked” is unheard of , I have stayed at different hotels when they say breakfast was included they meant that, cold or hot you get a good breakfast, won’t be staying at that hotel ever , overall service was dismal. at check out they wrongly charged us £20 for the hot breakfast we never had, it was embarrassing to try to convince the girl at the check out desk that we didn’t have cooked breakfast on the particular day in front of our guests and this made us look dishonest . l i am still very upset about it .

It was extremely friendly and relaxed. Very tasteful in every way. Calm and the staff all seemed to love working there and were always smiling and attentive. The rooms were very comfortable and clean with lovely touches. Cannot praise this hotel enough. All the staff members were very helpful and friendly especially Adie. Absolutely loved this three night break.

This is a lovely newish hotel in a beautiful bay. If you are looking to spend a few days doing nothing and chill this is the perfect place. The photos that you see on their website don't lie. The food was excellent too! Just a couple of minor issues. I know hotels try to create a mood but the piped music all day long can be a little irritating at times. The management obviously do their homework, so as a guest who am I to argue. The only other issue was the staff. Don't get me wrong, all of the staff were polite and courteous at all times and were never rude but they were very disconnected with the guests. We always had to ask for everything, no one was pro-active. Perhaps they were being overworked? They were very young and at times having someone more experienced overlooking things would have helped. The guys that drove the mini bus were the exceptions they were very communicative and personable. Also my wife had a facial in the spa, the lady was absolutely charming. Would I return to the hotel. Yes!

Welcome by the car park attendant was excellent, very infomative re hotel shuttle service into Salcombe and ferry times. Location fabulous virtually on the beach and our room had a lovely view overlooking the bay. Bed and linen wonderful.The complimentary Salcombe Gin aperitif in the room was a nice touch. Lunch service was excellent on the terrace and extremely enjoyable. Our waitress was very helpful, efficient and friendly. However our evening meal fell short. Having booked a time slot, it seemed we were not expected. The menu selection was very poor especially for a person allergic to fish and shellfish. Our drinks and food took a long time to arrive even after chasing. One dish was overcooked. Apologies were made and accepted but not what we expected. Breakfast was good but lacked a choice of bread/rolls...only bog standard sliced white/brown bread available. However we loved the hotel and surroundings and would return. Also for lunch if in the area.

Just a small note for future guests: if you prefer a more filling breakfast, be prepared to pay an extra £10 for the full option, as the continental selection is quite limited. That said, everything offered was very fresh and nicely presented. Overall, a wonderful experience and highly recommended.

Have just enjoyed a 3 night stay with a friend. Beautiful hotel in unique location in quiet South Sands beachy cove. Lots of ways to get to Salcombe town centre either walking (a bit hilly), hotel shuttle car or water ferry. Rooms have stunning decor and bathrooms are very well appointed. Service throughout the hotel is excellent and very friendly. Enjoyed both breakfast and dinner in the hotel restaurant. Good value & again great service throughout but with particular mention of lovely service from Rebecca. Views are gorgeous from the restaurant, hotel rooms with sea view, outside raised terrace and nice sun loungers at road level. Very nice spa pool area with jacuzzi, sauna & steam room. We used the treatment room at the town centre Harbour Hotel for massage & facials because we booked the stay last minute so no availability at the Beach Club. Recommend booking restaurant times & spa treatments ahead. The last few miles of roads into South Sands are narrow and need a bit of negotiating! Would happily return another time.

The hotel is fairly new and therefore really modern and clean. There is a spa on site which is ideal after a days walking. The free shuttle bus into the heart of Salcombe is a great idea as the walk does involve a few steep hills although this is how we travelled into Salcombe most days. The hotel is right on the beach and is in a very quiet location. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. If like us you come here in the winter and you want to walk in and out of Salcombe then remember to take a torch with you as it is pitch black and a mobile may not be sufficient.

Stayed here for one night whilst passing through the area. It is a lovely hotel with friendly staff. We were given a free upgrade to a room with a balcony overlooking the beach. Its a bit out of the way of Salcombe centre. Its not really walkable but there is a ferry service (tiny boat) from the beach to Salcombe Harbour very frequently. Food was lovely and we enjoyed it whilst sat overlooking the sea. Would definately stay again.

Ok, location exceptional, staff friendliness was the best we have experienced, really great, rooms were nice with the most comfortable beds we have ever stayed in. Then it comes to food, sadly no where near what you would expect for this priced property, could not get an English breakfast right despite returning 3 times meaning finning apart on a couples break, quality was poor and hit that you actually have to pay more on top of your room rate, the evening meals were poor although only dined once but was not prepared to try a second time, all in all a nice break but need some serious overhaul in the kitchen, one last thing try to avoid rooms 1-8 as the corridor has a drainage issue, not pleasant to wake up to at over £400 a night

This hotel has stunning views of the sea and beach. The hotel is modern and well laid out. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Food expensive but tasty. Continental breakfast was very good with an option for cooked food at an extra price. Swimming pool was very nice and spa area great. Criticisms: No hot water in shower twice. Fridge in wardrobe was very noisy. Room with interconnecting door meant I could hear the people talking from next door.

Beautiful hotel, great staff, gorgeous setting, spa is amazing and the decor is perfect. Very lucky with weather and were able to sit outside and enjoy the views. One afternoon it rained and the spa facilities were great to enjoy during this time. Only comment is that the restaurant is a little pricy for the type of food and felt the service charge on even two cup of teas is a little extreme

We had a sea view room that was an unbelievable view. Our room was clean and had the best bed we’d ever slept in! Like sleeping in a cloud. The staff are friendly and helpful. Salcombe town is a (complimentary) 10 min bus shuttle ride away or take a water ferry. We have loved the spa too. We will be back next year. Can’t wait to book again.

Another amazing stay at Harbour Beach Club, it’s the best location being on South Sands Beach with ferry and shuttle into Salcombe, Or a walk into Salcombe itself. Rooms are fabulous, especially the seas facing rooms, spas good and the restaurant and staff are great
