Motel 6-Troutdale, OR - Portland East

This is about as nice as a Motel 6 gets. It was clean, quiet, and reasonably comfortable. I didn't use the pool but it looked well maintained.

The service and cleanliness were great. The price was good. The outdoor pool was nice. The showers were a fun design and had strong water pressure.

We used the pool.

No fridge or microwave, freeway noise, but comfortable beds, ac worked great and pool was nice.

Pool closed. And everything was not what it looked like in the pics. Just unhappy.

It was alright, and serves the purpose of having a room. Little private community swimming pool, and vending machines with an ice maker. Washer and dryer is usable, but a little bit spendy. Room was a decent with no ability to set the A/C, but just have it On/Off as your selection. Flooring was hocked together where it doesn't meet up nicely with the shower so a rigid cut can be seen. Place was clean though with a decent bathroom.

First to know are the lies: Lie #1-This is a no-smoking facility. Actually, there is smoking everywhere, at all hours, even right outside your open window. Lie #2- One amenity is a beautiful pool. Actually, the pool is not open because it is a green cesspool. Lie #3- There is air conditioning in the rooms. Actually, the fan runs 24 hours a day, but no matter where you put the settings, there is no a/c. Positives? The room was clean, and one out of the 2 ice makers did work. The desk staff was friendly. The motel seems to be populated by semi-permanent residents who give NO consideration for neighboring rooms, using loud voices into the wee hours of the morning, smoking not in front of their own room, but in front of others rooms, even when it is 91 degrees and you need to have the window open because the a/c is non-existant. Children were running up and down the sidewalks at midnight. I do believe this stay was the worst single night we have spent at a motel in our lives. You will not feel safe here, there is a raging need for security. You have been warned,,,

The shower and floors were dirty when I checked in and the room smelled like smoke. The wifi did not work. Fire alarms went off at midnight and continued for a long time. The door to my room did not close properly (could see under it) and it didn't feel safe.

When we checked into our room the sheets had dirt and hair on them. The room smelled very bad like cigarette smoke.

Beds were not clean, they had hair and dirt on the beds. The beds were also very worn out and uncomfortable to sleep in. Wifi was very weak.

You need to install quality checks on the cleaning of the rooms. Our room floor was sticky with black grim see picture. Human boogers and blood on the floors and walls. The room smelled. Room needs upgraded badly. Woke up so stuffy nosed from poor quality forced air. Check your filters or get a new system.

Rooms smell like piss.

The room and bed reeked of cat piss. The bed also had an unidentifiable oder. The room was so dirty, the floor, the wall, and don’t get me started on the bathroom. The amount of homeless people squatting around the building is worrying. I would suggest finding anything other than this place. Let it be your last option!

The room was clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. Everything worked as it should have. The only issue I had was the mattress was obviously old. It was terribly uncomfortable. Super saggy, soft and thin.

Very clean and quiet location. Friendly and efficient staff. Good experience staying here overall.

The outside lighting was so bright that it made the rooms fairly lighted at night while sleeping. There wasn’t a small refrigerator in the room which would of been nice to have.

Very thin walls, loud creaky mattress, banging noises, bare minimum of everything.

You need to bring ear plugs, when staying here. Especially your room is on the Highway 84 side of the building.

Got a room near the middle stairway. So noisy and lots of traffic, and bright lights coning in around curtain. Didnt sleep much. Also the room had a weird fiahy odor. Had to buy lysol tp help mitigate

The tv didn’t work, there was some hair and a piece of paper in the shower. The room never got warm and we had the heater on warm. Other then that it was a decent place to lay your head down and sleep and get going to the next job!

Ultimately the stay worked out okay, but when I arrived the desk person told me there were only two rooms left and they both had issues. The lesser of the issues was heating/cooling that wasn’t working. I took that room as the weather was cooler. All I got was a shrug of the shoulders…no offer to reduce the rate, give me some free water, nothing. I know it’s a Motel 6, but give me a break! Also, I couldn’t step out of the room without getting blasted with the smell of weed. That’s becoming much too common. Motel 6 needs to stop posting generic pictures instead of actual pics of the motel. It’s false advertising.

SO LOUD!!! Couldn’t sleep all night! Freeway, train and airport noise. There seems to be people who live there. Smelled bad, terrible sheets, seemed dirty. No air conditioner.

First, the positive-the motel rooms were very clean. The negatives-very noisy area. Lots of people moving around making a lot of noise at different times. We could hear every car go by on the freeway. Many people loitering around around the motel.

Everyone was polite when we arrived. Once we got to the room we discovered it was disgusting there were holes in the wall spit wads on the ceiling and on the door it didn't look like it had been cleaned by room service the room we had was an accessible room as I'm not able to go up and down stairs the shower area was flooded and if you turn the water on it just made it worse and there was a God awful smell. When I notified the front desk that we wanted to change rooms they informed me that that would be impossible unless I was willing to pay a room changing fee no joke when I told them that I wasn't paying any fee to move rooms because they're incompetence in cleaning the room properly and making sure that it was ready they informed me that I was welcome to get extra towels to deal with the water. I was livid we decided we were going to go ahead and just stay the night in the room as best as possible since we didn't get in from our flight until after 1:00 in the morning so we were exhausted but we packed our things and left the next day we were supposed to be there for 3 days when I demanded my money back for the days that we didn't stay they refused and then charged my card an additional $75 when I called them after seeing that on my credit card I have been hung up on repeatedly it seems they refuse to take my phone calls so now I'm trying to get with my credit card company and dispute the amount I am beyond pissed off and have a right mind to take legal action against them

The area around the motel is not inviting but I just needed a place to lay my head. Check in was easy and quick. Less than 5 minutes and I was in my room.

I tried to check into my room at 415 and was told they would need 45 min to clean a room even with my reservation. I should be issued a partial refund especially given it interfered with my plans locally. Check out late usually incurrs a cost, isnt my time worth the same during check in,?

Every front desk staff member was above and beyond friendly and professional. I’ve stayed here many times in the past, and have never had such amazing customer service…from every staff member I encountered. Thank you!

Employees are very professional and friendly. Desk clerk Gabby has gone above and beyond with accomodating our needs thru out our stay. Would definately recommend staying here to family and friends for the price.

Arrived at midnight got sent to room already occupied twice, finally got new room. Freezing, heater blows cold air, see light thru door, bed light missing switch. Froze all night, couldn’t wait to leave. Not worth the $$, Never again Motel 6. What a dump!

Best place for the money in the area. Great staff. Onsite security at night. High traffic. Your experience will be dictated by who your neighbors are. Ive had very tranquil and easy stays here and night where the people hanging around the motel made it hard to relax. Lots of dogs. Relatively safe. I will be staying there again no doubt.

I almost froze to death. The heat did not work no matter what I tried. Finally doubled my blanket over me and tried to sleep, I told the front desk and their only reply was, "we'll report it". Room number was 225. maybe you can tell them that you have a very unhappy customer. Thanks.

This was a great motel. The bed was soft, the shower was modern, the wash basin looked like a wash Basin. The lady at the front desk was friendly and professional. My only complaint was the location. It is near the freeway and the railroad, so noise of cars, trucks, and locomotives were heard most of the night. Bring earplugs and sleep sounds.

Did the trick. We needed a good deal after arriving into Portland on a late flight before heading off to explore Mt. Hood region. A little noisy on side of building near highway but we were able to get a good night sleep nonetheless.

Couple of homeless around, area felt unsafe, folks smoking think smoke

The desk lady was very friendly and helpful: the area around the hotel was pretty rundown. Room was nice and clean and it was about right for $80 a night.

The homeless are on the other side of fence, and i have great empathy however things were stolen out of the bed of our truck, and in a homeless mans wagon. We just moved here from out of state, and too tired to get storage that night.

The room smells like smoke to the point of getting a headache. It’s cold because the heat doesn’t seem to work. Random Portland weirdo wandering around at 1 am. I Felt uncomfortable the whole time. The guy working the ft seat was very helpful and empathetic to my issues during the stay.

Typical Motel 6. This being (at my room) next to the interstate exit....its really noisy all night. Bring ear plugs. Also some suspicious parked cars around the lot...many dont have a parking tags either that is issued at checkin. So no enforcement. Overall i like Motel 6...its economical for my needs.

The front staff was very nice but other than the pool there wasn’t much to offer. Our room had no refrigerator nor microwave. The shower was small and not comfortable for larger people.

It was a great place to stay and with plenty of options around it.

I liked how there was a pool. I liked how there's refrigerator in unit. The downside will be that breakfast isn't provided as some other hotels. That's all I can think of.

No Coffee or microwave in the room. Floor was slimey. Shelves falling apart. Didn't get my $75 deposit back. Weirdos running a muck all night. A lot of moisture in the room. My key stopped working and i had to go to the office to reactivate it. Got a parking violation notice. Did not clean or make my bed or replace dirty towels once in my 3 day stay. Lady at the counter was nice

The motel was clean, quiet and inexpensive. It is close to fast food restaurants. Their idea of a continental breakfast is coffee, and there was no shuttle from the airport.

The room that we had stayed in had an old theme, but It had everything that we had needed. My review is based off of just the basic necessities. A bed, shower, water, and coffee. It was pretty clean & they had amazing staff on site. A couple things that I had wished they had are the following; a cooktop, fridge, and blow-dryer. If those things are important to you I recommend bringing a hotplate & cooler (they provide ice).

We wanted to get a way from our area. Found a deal on hotels.com app for Troutdale Motel 6. Alexis the front desk attendant was very friendly and made our check in and check out very easy. Only downfall of our room was no microwave (there is a convenience store and a couple fast food places near by). Short drive to Gresham for Diner style restaurants.

Have stayed here before was needing repair but now its updated, clean and everything worked to make it a pleasant stay. Don't expect a great luxurious motel this is about the cheapest place near portland and much better than most in the price range. Several restaurants within a couple of blocks and a outlet mall about a half mile away. Right at the entrance to the Columbia River Gorge scenic area.

No coffee pot, smelled like cigarettes and you could hear a train running through close by every several hours (3 times) during the night. Didn’t have a good night sleep.

Our flight arrived very late, so we just needed a cheap motel near the highway for convenience. just a place to sleep & shower. this place did the trick. bed was comfortable enough, good shower & right off the highway w/an excellent coffee drive-thru next door before getting on the highway. basic & exactly what we wanted.
