the neighborhood is shady. the portly guy receptionist is not helpful, all the amenities are old, but it's a cheap place. there you go. they don't have a bar. it's just a room with a bed and A/C.

Value for money ok. It seems as if the accommodation is still being renovated and old rooms are offered which are very outdated. Nevertheless, the host charges a fair price and still endeavours to provide a good room. At first we were not satisfied with the accommodation, but the receptionist (or owner?) then provided us with a better room and even washed all our laundry free of charge as compensation. The location is great! Just a few metres from the centre of Casco Viejo and the underground , bus station. Great to experience life outside the tourist centre. Thanks again for the hospitality!

Room was clean but very bare bones and basic. Small improvements could really make the place better (put a mirror in the bathroom, have working outlets, fix the AC so the remote actually controls the temperature). The first night they only provided one thin sheet and I had to hunt down a worker the next day to get a proper blanket. When we checked in at 10pm our room still wasn’t ready but the front desk was very kind and apologized. This is in a great location and gets the job done for a basic stay with no amenities or hot water.

For the price and proximity to the Old Towne, you cant beat it. Wifi speed was great, however lacks power outlets in co-working area. Property is secure with passcard access. Small commissary onsite for beverages, snacks, laundry.

Easy check in, friendly service, awesome laundry rates and in a decent area. Make sure they give you a key to get in at the gate!! They're doing construction so no rooftop area at the moment. Walkable to fish market and Casco Veijo (never felt unsafe). Grocery store nearby. No hot water was the downside, otherwise, for the amount we paid, we were satisfied.

Location was convenient, room was minimalistic, but relatively clean and comfortable. Fine for the money. Things to note: no hot water and only outlet was near the ceiling - cant charge device like phone or computer like that! We did have a power outage and I had to pack in the dark though. La ubicación es la adecuada para hacer turismo, casco viejo, museo, cinta costera, cerca del metro para visitar el canal, supermercado al frente, comida cerca, habitación cómoda. Precio vs comodidad bien. Muy recomendado. Solo les sugiero limpieza diaria a las habitaciones, yo estuve 4 noches y desde el primer día solicité limpieza y nunca se hizo.

Me hospedé nada más un día porque mi vuelo salía tarde, en general, está bien si te quieres quedar cerca del casco histórico y del transporte público, pero debes ser consciente de donde está ubicado puesto que es un sector de comercio, el lugar estaba limpio, disponía de lo necesario y el personal estaba atento, lo único que no me gustó fue que había una fuga no se si en la ducha o qué, pero el goteo si me puso tensa un momento, de ahí la ventana del baño daba a la escalera así que si no cerrabas la puerta, bien te podían ver por ahí, lo otro que no me gustó fue que el armazón de la cama es de hierro y estaba cubierto por la sabana, me pasé golpeando varias veces porque estaba cerca de la puerta del baño, pero por lo demás todo es de acuerdo a como se ve.

A nice, quiet, clean, and comfortable place to stay near the 5 de Mayo metro station & Casco Viejo. Sr. Ever (?) was very helpful as was the young man who checked me in. Would definitely stay here again.

You get what you pay for. No hot water and they clean my room only once at my 6 nights stay. I will not stay here again. The only good thing about this place is the people who works there and its a short walk to old town.

Excellent location for a low price - very close to Casco Viejo and some very good restaurants. Staff were present, friendly, and helpful. My room had a very functional air conditioner, and a bathroom. The street outside is a brick-paved pedestrian-only shopping street, leading into Casco Viejo.

Simple, minimalist, quiet one room priv bathroom on a pedestrian street, in busy, noisy, dirty old town Panama City. Uber can't drop you at the front door. A short walk through an alley with shops during the day, shuttered at night. Learn a little spanish!

This is a very nice little no-frills hotel, located on the pedestrian street near Plaza Santa Ana and just a few minutes’ walk from the Casco Viejo historic district. It was extremely low cost but also in good condition and very secure. The staff were helpful with getting a taxi and they let me store belongings there before checking in later in the day. All in all a very good experience.

This is a very nice little no-frills hotel, located on the pedestrian street near Plaza Santa Ana and just a few minutes’ walk from the Casco Viejo historic district. It was extremely low cost but also in good condition and very secure. The staff were helpful with getting a taxi and they let me store belongings there before checking in later in the day. All in all a very good experience.

Room was clean but very bare bones and basic. Small improvements could really make the place better (put a mirror in the bathroom, have working outlets, fix the AC so the remote actually controls the temperature). The first night they only provided one thin sheet and I had to hunt down a worker the next day to get a proper blanket. When we checked in at 10pm our room still wasn’t ready but the front desk was very kind and apologized. This is in a great location and gets the job done for a basic stay with no amenities or hot water.

The location is really dangerous, definitely don't arrive at night - we felt it was dangerous when we arrived at 7/8pm. The guy who checked us in was lovely and spoke very good English. The place didn't really look like the pictures, it was much more run down and a lot smaller. Easy to miss the entrance for the building too - there's a sign at the top so you know where it is.

Excellent location for a low price - very close to Casco Viejo and some very good restaurants. Staff were present, friendly, and helpful. My room had a very functional air conditioner, and a bathroom. The street outside is a brick-paved pedestrian-only shopping street, leading into Casco Viejo.

This is a very nice little no-frills hotel, located on the pedestrian street near Plaza Santa Ana and just a few minutes’ walk from the Casco Viejo historic district. It was extremely low cost but also in good condition and very secure. The staff were helpful with getting a taxi and they let me store belongings there before checking in later in the day. All in all a very good experience.

I had a great time at hostal la cigarra. It is located in the neighborhood of Santa Ana, just steps away from Casco Viejo. I was unsure of the location at first because I saw some sketchy areas around but in the end I felt really safe even as a female solo traveler. I even came back for another night after a trip to San Blas islands. It’s located on a pedestrian street across from a supermarket, next to a bakery and around the corner from a “feria” where there are all kinds of stalls of people selling beautiful stuff at a great price. I recommend this place.

Simple, minimalist, quiet one room priv bathroom on a pedestrian street, in busy, noisy, dirty old town Panama City. Uber can't drop you at the front door. A short walk through an alley with shops during the day, shuttered at night. Learn a little spanish!

Ich war dort nur eine Nacht. Mein Zimmer hatte kein Fenster und roch sehr muffig. Das ganze Hotel ist ohne Tageslicht. Kein Trinkwasser, das zur Verfügung gestellte Kaffeepulver war verschimmelt. Die Leute haben keine Lust zu arbeiten und wollten mir mehr Geld abknöpfen als in der App angezeigt

Not the Ritz but what would you expect for $30 a night in Casco Viejo. Staff was wonderful. Bar on the property was a plus. What really shines is the location.

For the price and proximity to the Old Towne, you cant beat it. Wifi speed was great, however lacks power outlets in co-working area. Property is secure with passcard access. Small commissary onsite for beverages, snacks, laundry.

Location is great, very comfortable and the instructions sent before the stay were useful. The room is clean and functional, and the stuff is very kind and helpful. The only thing to say is that there is no hot water in the shower, something that I expect to be informed about before booking the room.

We arrived early and we're greeted by friendly staff. We stored our baggage in the office and came back later to check in. Our room was spacious and clean. This is an old building so it's not flash by any extent but it is clean, convieniant to Casco Viejo and quiet. Perfect for our 1 night stop in Panama City
