This hotel was easy to find and had a good amount of parking on site, it also had 4 EV charging points which I did need to use, the speed was not great but worked well for overnight charging, great location for a 5 min stroll to the city, I wouldn't of wanted to be any closer with the evening noise, so the location was a main reason for booking, stayed in standard room which was a little on the small size but enough for a weekend break with my wife to see the area.

Great location, directions for parking would have been helfpul. Staff were polite and friendly. Bar area was good. Our room needed some TLC and fire doors were noisy.

Parking is marketed as available rather than included . It’s not included and may not be available. You only discover this once booked. it’s first come basis and £12.50 a day extra. A queen/king bed is just two beds pushed together in the family room. The bathroom was tired looking and the hot water was at scolding level for both kids and adults. The eye masks were needed , as the room was on the road and the curtains didn’t close properly and bright lights outside on 24/7. The kids pack was a nice touch and the little vip gown to wear as were the fridge items. Staff were friendly and it’s a great location. Didn’t use the restaurant or bar facilities so can’t comment.

Great hotel. Highly recommend the gym facilities. The room was perfect and the on site restaurant was spectacular. I enjoyed the tapas menu. The ginger prawns were tasty and everything very reasonably priced! Breakfast options were also good and in room coffee is my favourite brand, so bonus!!!!

Disappointed after high expectations. With experience in managing and staying in hotels, I understand how room advertising works, but this was clear false advertising. The room we were given was nothing like what was advertised by room type, description and image (or receipt!) and staff attributed the mismatch to a "marketing error". Attempts to resolve the issue were minimal. The room itself was dirty—dark fibers on pillows, hair in the shower, and false eyelash extensions on the bed. The mugs were chipped, though thankfully noticed before use. While the rest of the hotel and gardens looked fantastic, the room experience fell far short.

The hotel grounds were beautiful and very well decorated for Christmas. It was in a great location as well, 5 minute walk to the city centre. However our room was fairly average and a bit dated. The cleanliness was also lacking. Needed a good hoover before we arrived with bits and fluff everywhere. The back of the toilet was also rather grim. Don't think I'll be staying here again.

On our arrival there was milk and water in the fridge to make tea or coffee. But when the room was cleaned the next day, the bottle of milk was removed and the water was not replenished. So how were we supposed to make tea and coffee? When the room was serviced the bathroom floor was not clearly not swept and dirty glasses were not removed.

The hotel is very nice with a good location and a very wide choice of breakfast. The downside was the cleanliness,the bedroom was very dusty, especially the side bed where there were also glass stains.

Lovely hotel really close to the city centre. The room was a good size and didn’t have any shared walls so it felt private and tucked away. It was well presented with gorgeous decor and a very comfy bed. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay at this hotel again. My only comment about improvements would be that the cleaning in the room seemed a bit rushed and one of the robes had a big foundation mark on it from a previous guest which was a bit off-putting. We booked in for breakfast which had a good selection of cooked options. Everything we ate was delicious and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout the hotel.

Better communication on checkin around requesting room to be cleaned, came back after a long day to no water, no milk and room not refreshed. No lift so had to climb two flights of stairs (elderly mum and i'm pregnant!) then checkout they didnt mention you needed to put code in to release barrier. Very frustrating. the room had really bad condensation which means a lot of mould developing in wondows which we're breathing in. not great.

Had a great overnight stay. We stayed in room 2, which was a comfort room. Was was very nicely decorated and the bed very comfortable. There was fresh milk provided in the fridge, and usual tea, coffee making facilities. The only slight downside to this room was the bathroom, even though it was lovelly, the shower cubicle, was small, and the toilet was crammed into quite a small gap inbetween the wall and shower. The breakfast was of very good . We had a complimentry drink as we were there to celebrate my husbands birthday. It was a lovely touch. Very close to the town centre, the grounds were kept beautiful.

Room not ready until the advertised check in of 3pm, check out 11am which on a Sunday is not ideal. Having said that lovely, modern room, comfy bed, rainfall shower if they had a check out of 12pm it would be 100% better!

Great hotel in a brilliant location. Very friendly staff and car parking. The room was lovely, with added touches including gown, slippers, water etc Lovely white fluffy towels and very modern bathroom. The only small downside is that it was tiny and compact. The shower felt small and sitting on the toilet was tight fitting.

Really good location, 5 mins walk over the bridge to the old town of York. Bed comfortable. We had the cozy double room. Little on the warm side, obviously older building with no aircon, had windows open no problem. A little bit of noise from passers by but nothing to write home about. Staff friendly. Beer garden nice, although previous people had left mess around garden but not hotels fault. Managed to get parking space which was handy. Would I stay again, yes I probably would. Thank you

Great location, room and bathroom great size. Bed comfortable, staff friendly. Old building and rooms due for refurbishment but that did not impact my stay The bath in my room was very high and may be difficult for older people to get in to also quite a few stairs to room. Not keen on the restaurant food that I had.

The service from the staff was very good: friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good, a lot to choose from. The room was a bit small for a familyroom in a hotel with 4 stars. Also warm. The parking was in the weekend full so we had to spend 28 pound for a parkingticket.

The staff were very kind to move us to a room with air conditioning as our original room was very warm and only had a fan. It was a beautiful room. The beds were very comfortable as well. The breakfast was very good.

A lovely hotel tucked away from the bustle but close for walking. Good check in. Room clean and pretty with free mini bar and lovely white company toiletries. Food very tasty in the tapas restaurant. Only downside is the executuve rooms are roadside, whilst there is secondary glazing its is quite noisy for traffic going past.

We really enjoyed our stay at Middletons Hotel. The hotel buildings and grounds are amazing, really peaceful and picturesque. The check in was easy and staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were bright and welcoming with comfy bed and pillows. Only negative would be the price for early check in, which we needed as staying for a wedding. Overall we were very happy with the hotel and would stay again if visiting York

Arrived early to have a better chance of getting a parking space at the hotel. Reception staff very welcoming and friendly. Room lovely and very clean. Hotel well positioned for sightseeing. The hotel was hosting 4 of the Ice Trail Sculptures and there was a lot going on. A lovely atmosphere. We did not t have breakfast or eat at the hotel so cannot comment on the food. We would definitely use this hotel again.

The hotel was hosting 4 of the Ice Trail Sculptures and there was a lot going on. A lovely atmosphere. We did not t have breakfast or eat at the hotel so cannot comment on the food. We would definitely use this hotel again.

Comfortable friendly hotel, within a short walk of the historic city centre. Room Heating took a while to cope with the sudden cold snap but improved eventually. We had to cut-short our stay at very short notice due to a family incident, the management very kindly waived cancellation fee. We'll definitely return to Middletons Hotel.

Lovely hotel, ideally placed location wise for exploring York and surrounding areas. Parking a bonus, lovely bar, lounge area, good breakfast, friendly informative staff, and clean comfortable rooms. Was able to check in early so added bonus. Special mention to Corinne & Dean on reception for busy so helpful

I stayed here for one night and was a super location - easy walk from the train station and was also easy to get to the main city centre. The reception is open 24 hours which is something I like when travelling alone. The reception staff were friendly at check in and check out , and also when I asked for a last minute late check out. The room itself was just what I needed for one night, and I had a lovely view. Had tea/coffee/hot choc and biscuits. The toiletries were white company and smelt lovely. There is also a really fluffy robe which was so cosy. The main selling point of this room though is the bed which is so so comfortable- and didn’t want to get out of it (hence arranging the late check out!)

We were in an older part which was nice overall but in need of some TLC in others. Quite a lot of dust on dado rails. As an executive room it was large with both a stand alone shower & roll top bath, but probably not worth paying the extra given the need for TCL/cleanliness, We arrived back at gone 3pm on first day & room hadn't been serviced & wasn't subsequently as we wanted to relax in our room. On the second day we arrived back gone 2pm & room was only just being serviced. Whilst towels in bathroom were replaced, milk in fridge wasn't replenished (luckily we had just enough), neither were the biscuits or Yorkshire tea bags (we had to make do with decaf). On Sat night we decided to eat in the lounge bar but there was a large party of males (assume a stag party) who were getting louder & using bad language. Whilst it didn't make for a relaxing meal but didn't overly bother us as we ate & left, we felt that someone from the hotel should've have asked them to quieten down, especially as we were aware that there were several solo female guests (some probably late 60/early 70).

Great hotel. Highly recommend the gym facilities. The room was perfect and the on site restaurant was spectacular. I enjoyed the tapas menu. The ginger prawns were tasty and everything very reasonably priced! Breakfast options were also good and in room coffee is my favourite brand, so bonus!!!!

Really good location, 5 mins walk over the bridge to the old town of York. Bed comfortable. We had the cozy double room. Little on the warm side, obviously older building with no aircon, had windows open no problem. A little bit of noise from passers by but nothing to write home about. Staff friendly. Beer garden nice, although previous people had left mess around garden but not hotels fault. Managed to get parking space which was handy. Would I stay again, yes I probably would. Thank you

The room was lovely, with a comfortable bed and good shower. The breakfast is terrible though, slow service and poor quality food. I'd stay here but eat elsewhere!

Staff was accommodating and professional. There was no business office to get boarding pass and I had to work with a KLM agent which took hours. Food: terrible dinner-undercooked pasta with watery butternut squash and stringy broccoli for $30 pounds. Unfortunate, as the nearest restaurant was inconvenient on a windy, rainy night. The hotel was great and I’d stay again- just not eat there.

A lovely hotel tucked away from the bustle but close for walking. Good check in. Room clean and pretty with free mini bar and lovely white company toiletries. Food very tasty in the tapas restaurant. Only downside is the executuve rooms are roadside, whilst there is secondary glazing its is quite noisy for traffic going past.

Hotel was in a good spot near to town.Staff were friendly and accommodating.Hotels bar area was a perfect size.Breafast was lovely but service too slow due to a new system being tried ! We had a large accessible room with a very big wet room ,the only down side being the Floor was very wet when trying to get ready to go out . Hotel was shabby chic in places and the atmosphere was cosy.We had a good stay

We only stayed for the one night, but have a lovely nights stay. The room was clean and the be was comfy. The breakfast in the morning was delicious and the staff were really friendly and helpful. If we come to York again, would definitely stay here.

Stunning building in perfect location and car parking. Extremely helpful staff. Gorgeous hotel. Excellent bedroom full of everything you need including fridge with bottles of water and milk. I would recommend this hotel. It's very good helpful, star. The room's comfortable amazing building and you do not need to drive anywhere else. In the area you can walk everywhere, so much easy food's brilliant. It could be a I'm definitely coming back again.

Stayed in a cosy room which was bigger than expected with air-conditioning Small ensuite just big enough for 1 person. Room had a small fridge which included fresh milk and a bottle of water. Good selection of teas for hospitality tray. Breakfast good selection which had to be ordered as cooked fresh. However had to be booked for breakfast in advance. Hotel not too far from train station and between 2 bridges so easy access to city centre.
