Ibis Sofia Airport Hotel

Great deal with airport pick ups and drop offs. Pick up by a great fellow who helped with luggage.. To the airport however, one very lazy large driver made passengers open luggage door and load and unload themselves whilst he sat in his seat. That was the only down side. All else breakfast and room comforts were great.

If you need a place close to the airport this is the spot. Easy parking, minutes from the airport. Breakfast is good.

Unfortunately, we had difficulty locating the shuttle stop. The hotel must install guide signage around the airport and around the parking area. Yellow taxi cab drivers were providing different instructions to us. Some stated that the shuttle will be passing along the ramp. Some pointed in a different location. Airport staff were clueless. The hotel staff was great and welcoming. Thank you.

I arrived in Sofia airport and requested for a pick-up from the airport. We were told it’ll be 15 mins. I waited for a full hour before I finally saw a van with the Ibis sign. The driver was dropping someone off and was about to leave when I approached him - I was very annoyed and disappointed. I voiced my opinion when it had taken him an hour when I was told it would be 15 mins. I don’t mind waiting but be honest with me. It I was told 15 mins, I expected it to be either on time or 10-15 mins late but with an explanation. Not 45 mins late and was then screamed at the entire way to the hotel by the rude, obnoxious drive. He is an absolutely arrogant and represents your hotel extremely poorly. I told him I had called him 2 times on the hotel shuttle mobile number he refuted it. Even after I had shown his the missed calls. He continued to argue with him and shouted at me. It got no where as I said to him I would discuss the service failure with the Hotel Manager. He replied rudely and arrogantly “YOU CAN TALK TO WHOEVER YOU WANT”. What a rude and arrogant man. When I arrived at the hotel, I spoke to the Manager on duty. He apologised profusely and remembered very well when the call was made for pickup. He was also at a loss why he didn’t turn up as promised. My hunch is, the shuttle driver had forgotten to pick me up and never did turn up. When I turned up in his face when he dropped someone off, he was taken aback I was even waiting for him!

The car giving you ride to terminal 2 is 8 passengers but the trunk is for about 5 big suitcases and is full…….so what about 3 passengers suitcases???

What I liked: Liked the proximity to the airport and the shuttle service. Great breakfast and overall service. What I thought was somewhat lacking: Parking was sometimes a challenge as the parking lot could become almost full at times. Rooms were non-smoking although smoke smell could be detected for sensitive guests who are non-smokers.

Easy shuttle to and from the airport for a quick stay and an early morning departure flight. Friendly staff and breakfast accommodation for leaving before the included breakfast service.

Breakfast had very good options. For an early flight they prepared a breakfast for me to take. 24/7 airport shuttle was efficient

Airport shuttle was no where to find if you dont have a local phone number. On the way back at 4 am shuttles are overbooked and one big mess

First, this is a cheap quite basic place to stay before a flight. Unfortunately was my room not cleaned (dirty bed sheets, towel and stuff in trash can). My next room had a strong smell of smoke in the bathroom, but since it was late and my flight was

The staff was really nice and the room super clean. But the mattress was probably the worst I ever slept on in a hotel. It was like the ones used in pool chairs, super thin and uncomfortable

Under the bed was terribly dirty

A lot of dust under the table and in the room corners, hair all over the place... Airport shuttle delayed for 10 minutes, actually arrived to hotel parking 10 minutes after scheduled departure time due to make a ride for hotel stuff. Personnel at the reception just responded for inquiry just wait for the shuttle, no explanation, no estimated time...

Room was spotless and check in was smooth with Anthony being very courteous and helpful. He asked about a courtesy breakfast and shuttle ride since we had a very early departure. The only drawback was the uncomfortable pillows and lack of air conditioning which required an open window. Location was key.

A very clean hotel with excellent staff. The most convenient location if you are flying out of SOF. I arrived earlier than the check in time but the friendly receptionist let me check in early. Highly recommend this hotel!

Very dirty.

Easy access from the airport, just what you need for short stay, comfortable and clean, quick check in and out, internet access, decent breakfast.

We came from the countryside and stayed there to catch an early flight in the morning. Room & facilities were very clean, restaurant was convienent and the shuttle service was a blessing. Because we left early the free breakfast was not available but the hotel gives a nice simple bag breakfast which was well appreciated....

I took two pictures of things that made the lobby seem dirty. The room was fine. The pendant lamps in the lobby area behind the plexiglass at the desk at the entrance were coated in dust. And there was a bit of garbage on the desk.

Room temperature 27 ….. it’s a nightmare AC didn’t work

j'ai dormi au 2eme etage et le lit est completement usé le matelas est inexistant, j'ai eu l impression de dormir sur une planche et j'ai dormi 3H Mon dos m'a fait souffrir ensuite. Passez votre chemin si vous souhaitez plus de confort

Hotel is close to the airport but that’s the only redeeming feature. First room I was given smelled of smoke. Second room was better but all areas of the hotel are a bit shabby- scuffs on doors, peeling paint, stained sinks. The room was not sound proof and I was awoken multiple times through the night to the sound of guests in the hall. Overall would not recommend

Terrible beds, thin sponge

I walked to the hotel from Terminal 2 (about 20 minutes walk). The hotel is cozy, the rooms are basic and efficient. The staff is very friendly. The shuttle on the way back to the airport was very quick and convenient.

Great options for an airport hotel. You cannot hear the planes.

Quiet and convenient. Tv didn’t work, no channels added and you couldn’t add any.

We ate at the restaurant and the food was good. The property itself just seemed old and a little rundown. Staff was friendly and the room was small but adequate. T

Great location, right by the airport, with complementary shuttle 4-5 minute to T & 2. Easy check-in/out. The front desk has pre made sandwiches upon check out, which was appreciated. Overall clean, except parts of the shower. The “AC” was sen on fan not AC so it just blowing air. Unfortunately, that day/evening was 37C, which made the sleeping quite uncomfortable.

The sleeping comfort was not good for me. The pillows were way to hard and so was the madras.

One of the frumpier Ibises I've stayed in, and not particularly easy to catch shuttle from airport. Also staff was a bit scarce late at night. But fundamentally okay.

Nice hotel. Good value for the price. All the amenities. Food is good. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Staff were not helpful at all. Room was freezing cold and bed uncomfortable. Very poor experience.

Not happy with some of the staff behavior. I complained via email but didn’t even get a response. The hotel is really just a necessary evil when you need to stay near the airport…. They could do so much better if they cared.

It was ok for airport layover. IT IS NOT WALKING DISTANCE. you do need the transportation and wifi reception in the airport was not good enough to have a voip call letting them know. Hotel was ok. The food at the hotel was good, can't leave a tip with credit card.

This is a hotel near the airport for people who are finishing a trip and ready to travel the next morning. Therefore, there is no beautiful places around the hotel. But it is clean, quiet, and we got our shuttle on time the next morning. I would use it again if I am in Sofia for one night and have a flight early morning the next day.

Hotel was very clean and staff were fantastic. Property is close to the airport, with free airport shuttle. But there is limited transport, dining and shopping options. Rooms are not sound proof either.

Nice people. And excellent location if you need to have some rest between flights. I was allowed to get into the room before official check-in hour , so had more time to sleep after overnight flight. Location is very close to airport, but you can get to Sofia centre in 30-40 minutes, subway is there. Recommended for sure.

This by far is the best Ibis I’ve stayed at! Great location close to airport and free shuttle 24 hours a day! The breakfast spread is definitely out of this world! They even give you a to-go bag if you have to check out early like we did! They included a fruit and a sandwich! Will stay here again!

Good location and free shuttle bus to airport terminals. We only had to wait a few minutes to check-in. For an airport hotel we felt that breakfast started very late - 7am. The doors to the breakfast room were firmly shut until exactly 7am, even though staff could see we were waiting to enter. On a plus they did have a pancake machine, with freshly made pancakes available, plus a range of hot and cold breakfast items.

My plane was delayed and landed very late (1am). I just had to WhatsApp the hotel to get picked up 10mn later. I can’t be grateful enough for this service. Clean room and good quality food for breakfast.

I would have rated the stay higher, but my table in the dining room was sticky and had not been properly cleaned, and neither of the two coffee machines produced drinkable coffee. The capuccino was a mixture of hot water and milk. When I mentioned this issue, the person at the front desk shrugged and said it hadn't been working for some time! Otherwise the breakfast offerings were excellent and the food the previous evening well prepared and displayed.

Our stay good staff friendly and helpful but breakfast not at all good as hot food bar was not turned on food cold cheese sitting out dry not covered even pancake maker off and items cold Irish people look forward to a hot breakfast and food properly cooked not half raw otherwise everything fine when we arrived at 9 so no excuse no butter available all gone night before we arrived 10 pm restaurant closed only sign saying open to 23.00
