Check in was ordinary, could not find our reservation. Restaurant & bar closed Tues/Wed. A few necessities missing from room - glasses, teaspoons. Did have a beautiful view over golf course.

It was ok, renovated room very nice on 1st Floor and no Lift but ok for us. Light in hallway on sensor and was shining under the door. Not sure why it was going on and off through the night, couldn't hear anyone in hallway. Builders started at 7.00a which was annoying. Would consider elsewhere next time.

Staff was very helpful. Rooms where very small and outdated. No air conditioning. However, everything you need was there, clean and very quiet. Basic accommodation. Cheap and cheerful.

Nice old property with personality. However, no airconditioning in the rooms, it was terrible on a 35deg day. Very poor Wifi in the rooms. No arrangements for making a cup of tea.

A lift would be good, as the stairs for us older people are getting hard. Other than that, I would highly recommend this as a place to stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful and sitting on the deck with a cold beer watching the golfers is the best way to enjoy the game.

The Dormie house is a beautiful historic building on the edge of a nice golf course. You will want to get a refurbished room. If you rely on hotel wifi during stay, be aware that, even though they offer wifi, it is so bad as to be non existent.

parking for guests was being used by golfers which meant parking in the street for some as well as having to carry luggage. Management need to be stricter on guest parking or you will lose potential guests

The refurbished rooms were fantastic. Very clean. The bathroom floors were heated, which was amazing as it was about -1 degree when we arrived. Would definitely stay again.

For a pretty old hotel of this kind, maintenance needs to be reviewed. The carpet was filthy, peeling paint in the bathroom. Small Tv for the size of the room. Dirty windows. Non-existent Internet. The heating was not working properly. There was a piece of chocolate bar wrapper between the bed and the nightstand.

When we arrived the room we were meant to be checking into was dirty when we opened the door. It had not been cleaned from previous people staying. The staff were friendly and accommodated us with some drinks whilst waiting for it to be cleaned. No air-conditioning on hottest day in March, we asked for a fan but that didn't work. Bed uncomfortable and in need of upgrading. Generally i guess a cheap stay but you get what you pay for.

We stayed here for one night and had dinner in the restaurant. The staff at Dormie House are incredible - so helpful and friendly. All of the guys who helped at check-in and dinner were so welcoming. We had a delicious meal and dessert, it was hard to narrow down a selection from the many choices on the menu! This was followed by a lovely sleep in the comfortable bed, which we really needed as we were taking part in a big event the next day. Everything was clean and fresh. I attend an annual event in Bundanoon and was so glad to have discovered the Dormie House. I'll be back next year!

Cons: Shower curtain mouldy, no light cover in bathroom, no aircon, flyscreen not fitted so 3inch gap, carpet needs replacing Pros: upright fan on cupboard helped on hot day/ night, sheets clean, quiet location (although upstairs guests footfalls loud), no signs to dining/bar Possibly needs a heritage restoration grant to bring up to a basic accom standard.

It is a lovely location and has great potential. However, they are currently renovating so very noisy. Room was the dirtiest I have ever encountered. Carpet had never been cleaned and was badly soiled. Bathroom white vanity plug was covered in dirt and more. Property needs a good manager with hotel experience to spot check cleanliness of rooms and common areas and more.

Room very small. Heating control confusing and staff wasn't sure how it worked either. Room was too cold, had to get fan heater. Dining room was warm the first morning but no heat on the Sunday morning. Stairs hard for my wife to manage. Suggest putting a lift in the storage room. The venue was quiet, and the bed was comfortable.

Refurbished room was clean, comfortable and spacious. Due to the nature of it being an old building it was quite noisy and could hear doors slamming, floorboards creaking and conversations through walls. Was attending a wedding locally so this was a convenient and affordable place to stay.

My room looked out onto carpark and I felt very exposed so kept blinds down and had no view. It was a budget room so maybe this is the price I had to pay. Lounge and dining areas were lovely.

The dinner was top quality and the staff that night very friendly and helpful however we were told that night that we couldn’t have dinner in the restaurant as they wanted to set up for the next day. We had booked in for breakfast the next day and sat in the dining area where advised. We sat alone for quite some time before someone came in. We had to ask for menus and ordered some coffee. It was cold and uninviting and it didn’t help that nobody else was there. The coffee came and it was awful. We decided not to stay for breakfast as the experience was pretty ordinary and nobody was bothered enough to ask us why. We would never recommend this place to anyone. For the price we paid we would expect much more!

We have stayed here a couple of times. We were given a VERY small room, even though the hotel was almost empty. Staff rarely there, Sadly, the place has great possibilities but very tired. It was a Sunday night, no food available. Kettle in the room didn't work properly. Everything so crowded. Staff didn't seem to care.

Love the charm of old style buildings and this one is full of character! Such a great location to stay on the edge of the golf course. Just remember that golfers start very early in the morning, so don't plan on sleeping in if your room is next to the practise green or the buggy shed!! Staff were super friendly and efficient, overall we loved our stay at Dormie House and would recommend it. Great value too!

Great place to enjoy the serenity of Miss Vale. Beautiful period features and cozy rooms. Staff were friendly and you can’t beat the view from the deck overlooking the golf course.

Very nice stay. Lovely old building overlooking the golf course. Very quiet and dark at night which is great for some one like me who does not sleep well.

Refurbished room was clean, comfortable and spacious. Due to the nature of it being an old building it was quite noisy and could hear doors slamming, floorboards creaking and conversations through walls. Was attending a wedding locally so this was a convenient and affordable place to stay.

Nice place although our room overlooking the golf course had golfers wandering right past our window and chatting. We didnt expect that we would be beside the practice area. What was REALLY annoying was the UHT milk tubs in our fridge just curdled when we made a coffee. Surely its not too hard to replace these every decade or so? We went to a service station to get fresh milk. Next morning we ordered a bacon and egg roll and a hash brown in the dining room. We waited 30 minutes and it still didnt arrive so we cancelled the order. Bar staff were very apologetic and gave us a refund, and also a free B&E roll. Kudos to the young man.

Check in was ordinary, could not find our reservation. Restaurant & bar closed Tues/Wed. A few necessities missing from room - glasses, teaspoons. Did have a beautiful view over golf course.

The dinner was top quality and the staff that night very friendly and helpful however we were told that night that we couldn’t have dinner in the restaurant as they wanted to set up for the next day. We had booked in for breakfast the next day and sat in the dining area where advised. We sat alone for quite some time before someone came in. We had to ask for menus and ordered some coffee. It was cold and uninviting and it didn’t help that nobody else was there. The coffee came and it was awful. We decided not to stay for breakfast as the experience was pretty ordinary and nobody was bothered enough to ask us why. We would never recommend this place to anyone. For the price we paid we would expect much more!

A beautiful setting and grand old guest house. The in house restaurant was excellent, with very nice food, attentive service and charming environment. The vista across the golf courses from the deck is perfect for predinner drinks. We stayed in a renovated room so it was extremely nice, i understand not all rooms are renovated so you might want to confirm when booking.

We stayed here for one night and had dinner in the restaurant. The staff at Dormie House are incredible - so helpful and friendly. All of the guys who helped at check-in and dinner were so welcoming. We had a delicious meal and dessert, it was hard to narrow down a selection from the many choices on the menu! This was followed by a lovely sleep in the comfortable bed, which we really needed as we were taking part in a big event the next day. Everything was clean and fresh. I attend an annual event in Bundanoon and was so glad to have discovered the Dormie House. I'll be back next year!

We stayed in a refurbished King Room and it was lovely. Beautiful room, comfy bed, great value of money. We'll definitely stay there again, it's perfect for a weekend getaway. But we won't eat there again, the dinner wasn't great.

I paid $1100 for a renovated room and thought it would be pretty decent for that price … instead I got a renovated room but very small and claustrophobic windows had locks on it that couldn’t be opened like they were painted shut and was told in listing it had 50 inch tv but it was only a little 28 inch tv in the corner on a mount all awkward to watch from bed or any angle and no toaster and microwave in room only mini fridge and kettle .. I thought for $1100 you would at least get those things cause you can get cheaper rooms at different places that have all those things plus more ! Very misleading listing and the shower wouldn’t stay hot when using and turn cold so I told reception and their excuse was it’s an old building and everyone showers at same time … whaaaat lol … does everyone shower at 5:00am I don’t think so… the only good thing about this room was heated tiles in bathroom that’s literally it ! And they didn’t even have a common room with microwave for all guests !! So I had to go downstairs to kitchen where they cook in restaurant and asked them to reheat my food otherwise I couldn’t eat what I had in fridge … and no elevator even a small one so I had to life my luggage bags up the stairs … what a pain

Stayed for one night. I was kindly upgraded by the polite helpful front desk staff. He even went ahead and turned the heater on so the room would be warm after I had my dinner. The room was clean and comfortable. Everything I needed was included. Very quiet Comfortable bed . Will be back
