The Service was very good when it came to cleaning of room, food , bartenders, front desk. The resort was very nice. The negatives of the trip though was that hardly any of the restaurants were opened and the one night the italian restaurant was open we made a reservation @ 5:30 pm and was told to come back at 6pm. When we came back the worker told us and many other people that they were not accepting reservations. people were angry. The hot tub never worked at all either the whole time.

My family of 6 adults stayed there for 5 days over New Years eve 2025. It was the resort's first year of being adult-only, and we felt they still had some kinks to work out. What was great was location, drinks, room sizes were huge, great New Year's eve party event, and good service. What could have been better: 1 pool (of 3) is in shade all day and another pool requires extra payment for a cabana; food should be better; our room had a leak in the bathroom all 5 days. Even though it is advertised as an "all inclusive" resort, they often ask for extra payments (through buying a bottle of booze) for 1 privilege or another.

The property itself is beautiful & rooms are very clean! There are 3 large, beautiful pools. Two of which are more quiet, and one with activities, volleyball, etc. There are a decent amount of pool chairs/cabanas, yet there were never any available at 10am. but if you ask the pool guy for help & tip him, a group of chairs next to each other would randomly appear for you.. My group had a bad experience with the food at this resort. I have been to other all inclusive resorts, including the sandos in cabo, so i knew not to expect amazing food. The buffet was very small with not many options. It was messy & and felt like the food wasn’t replenished. We were excited for italian restaurant because who can go wrong with pasta! Our pasta was undercooked and crunchy. We also ordered salmon, and it was not fully cooked. The steakhouse was also disappointing as our steaks were well done and gray even after asking for medium rare. Lastly, we were the most excited for the hibachi restaurant on our last day. We made the reservation at the beginning of our trip on the resort app (which we found out you could easily get in anywhere without a reservation). When we arrived for our reservation, the restaurant was locked, and were told its closed for the day. Its upsetting that the app you are pushed to use isnt correct, even though you already are only able to book for a few days out of the week. The spa was AMAZING & was very cheap for being at a resort!

The beach could have used some trees or some form of shade. It was too hot to lay out on the beach, unless of course you were in the water. There was definitely a seaweed issue. Although there was no swim up pool, the staff made up for it by walking along the pools and providing drinks

Despite recent renovations that create an illusion of luxury, the hotel still shows rust and calcium buildup on bathroom fixtures. The walls are extremely thin, so loud conversations and slamming doors start waking you up as early as 6 a.m. Not to mention the ongoing construction in the room above us that started at 9am and didn’t end until 6pm, so hope you don’t like taking mid day naps after being in the sun all day. Food was average, and the bartenders didn’t make quality drinks. Pool seating was almost impossible to find since guests can use unlimited towels to claim multiple chairs, daybeds, and beach spots at once. Restaurants don’t take reservations unless you’re a Royal Elite member, which often leads to waits of up to an hour. On the positive side, the pools were great, the beachfront was nicer than most properties, and the staff was consistently friendly. The property is older, but seems well maintained and very clean. The spa facilities could definitely use an update. Food was good at the buffet and all the restaurants. Only complaint was there are not enough chairs/umbrellas around the pool or beach, and there was no option to reserve a Bali bed. It is all first come first served and people wake up at 5am to go put towels and belongings to save spots. Overall, for the price point, we would go there again. The food and drinks were good and the staff is great!

I liked the food, entertainment, drinks, the staff and the other guests I did not like that at 5:00 am people sabe Cabanas and take off for an all day trip. Hate the fact there is no hottub by the pool and only in the spa where I was charged over $300 for a massage and two sit in a hottub alone

the good: I liked the tranquility of the area. It was an adults only resort so it was nice not having kids running around. The staff and food was amazing. The Bad: The pool area needs attention. The pools were dirty and didn't seem to be cleaned every night. The pool area could also use a lot more seating options for the number of guests they have.

Hotel is run down and dated. Balcony railing was loose. Gym cardio equipment was not working or worn down. Mold all over the bathroom, stained bathrobe, low water pressure, tepid water, pool not heated, jacuzzi not hot, food options limited (restaurants not open, no room service, no drink/food service on beach), construction noise next-door completely killed the relaxing beach vibe. Staff was lovely, you are on the beach, and my massage was amazing, but I would never recommend or go back.

Allt på detta hotellet var utmärkt. Det var så rent och fint överallt och servicen var perfekt. All personal var så välkomnade och trevliga och väldigt måna om oss. Vi uppskattade maten och åt oftast på buffé Zango då det fanns så mycket gott att välja på och personalen tog väl hand om oss. Underhållningen var jättebra och vi hade en underbar semester och hade all lyx vi kunde önska oss. Städ och roomservice var perfekt.

The property is very small. If you’re looking for not much walking this property is for you. The elevators are tight. The room had a musty smell and mold on the lampshades and bed skirts. The furniture and closet hinges also had rust. Instantly activated my asthma. I would never stay here again. The balcony cement was broken. It was one of my least favorite stays.

Staff were extremely nice and professional, did not have a single issue with any staff member. The hotel even covered all expenses for an unexpected hospital visit which was greatly appreciated. Food options were excellent, it was some of the best resort food I've had. Plenty of options for all types of diets and different types of flavours/themed buffet days. The resort is feeling its age as it was built in the 90s and could use some touch ups/upgrades, but not a dealbreaker and still very clean throughout. There is also no swim up bar, but the bar near the pools is not too far of a walk and pool staff bring you drinks anyways. Entertainment was alright, nothing spectacular. I would recommend this resort for couples/groups who are looking for a more relaxed vacation with good food and drinks

We arrived on a Friday afternoon and were not able to get into any of the “5” restaurants for dinner so we had the buffet and the food was OK, but the dining room was very warm with no air circulation. That evening there was no entertainment except in a small room in basement with hardly any seating, not to mention it was all in Spanish . The next night was my birthday and once again no reservations available. Come to find out, ONLY TWO OF THE FIVE RESTAURANTS ARE OPEN EACH NIGHT. Also discovered that they were short staffed for cooks to provide reservations to a lot of people. Our third and last evening we tried to get a reservation and was told to check back with concierge at 4 pm, and at that time were told NO reservations available. This was very unsatisfactory considering how much we paid. The service was terrible in the buffet area and also the outside restaurant. No one acknowledged for drinks, refills etc., and the food at outside restaurant took more than 20 minutes each time we ordered, with the exception of the last morning when I ordered a plain bagel and it never arrived until we were walking out the door. The room was decent except the bedding was stained (comforter) and there was mold growing in the bathroom. Unfortunately, We will not be visiting this resort again. However, the beach was beautiful

The property is gorgeous. The staff work continously to maintain the cleanliness of the property. The housekeeping staff do a wonderful job keeping the rooms cleaned and refreshed daily. The dining staff were wonderful. Very accomodating. The waiters at the pool were quick to deliver drinks. The food options were excellent. Food was always fresh and delicious!

We stayed for a week and had an amazing time at Sandos Cancun. All of the staff from the Front Desk, Restaurants, and Resort Activities provided outstanding service and were friendly with great attitudes. We felt very welcomed from the moment we walked in. The Resort is smaller than others but felt like the Staff cared more. Our Room was a great size with a balcony and a great view of the ocean. A/C kept the room very cool. Bathroom was a good size and clean. Food was very good at the many Restaurants and the buffet was a solid choice for meals if you didn't have a reservation somewhere else. St. Trop was outstanding for Breakfasts and Lunch. Drinks were great and it never felt like we waited very long for a drink. The 3 pools were the best feature by far. They were never too crowded and we could always find a spot to hang out. Beach access was nice and the only downside was the seaweed but that was no big deal to us. We will definitely be coming again at some point. I couldn't recommend this gem any more!!

Bathroom was a good size and clean. Food was very good at the many Restaurants and the buffet was a solid choice for meals if you didn't have a reservation somewhere else. St. Trop was outstanding for Breakfasts and Lunch. Drinks were great and it never felt like we waited very long for a drink. The 3 pools were the best feature by far. They were never too crowded and we could always find a spot to hang out. Beach access was nice and the only downside was the seaweed but that was no big deal to us. We will definitely be coming again at some point. I couldn't recommend this gem any more!!

The bed spring was very bad. The ceiling of the bathroom was leaking water and eventually part of it fell down. I was unable to take a shower during that day. It took a day before they exchanged a new room for me. It was not a good experiment.

Property is nice, staff is nice but until you have a problem no one is around. My toilet was dripping, shower water was clogged up, and coffee maker was not working properly. They kind of tried but then ignored my request to fixed these things. I was not upgraded to another room either. Restaurant and the gym air conditioning do not work properly- too hot!

My family of 6 adults stayed there for 5 days over New Years eve 2025. It was the resort's first year of being adult-only, and we felt they still had some kinks to work out. What was great was location, drinks, room sizes were huge, great New Year's eve party event, and good service. What could have been better: 1 pool (of 3) is in shade all day and another pool requires extra payment for a cabana; food should be better; our room had a leak in the bathroom all 5 days. Even though it is advertised as an "all inclusive" resort, they often ask for extra payments (through buying a bottle of booze) for 1 privilege or another.

We did not have hot water in room 535 for the entire time I was there. I informed the front desk 4 times and still nothing. For how much money I spent I would like to shower. Won’t be coming back. Other than that it’s a great resort. Staff at the front desk really just don’t care.

I rated this excellent…. It had its downfalls. Areas to improve: Communication between staff…. I reserved at Seasons on my birthday. When I got there they didn’t have me on the list. I went back to the front desk and they also had me down for there. One afternoon I went to La Trop alone where I was the first to be seated. They seated four couples and they all got drinks and appetizers and 20 minutes before I was acknowledged. Nothing like feeling unseen when you are already making the step to go somewhere alone. False advertising…. With their room service I was going to order something since I had an early morning excursion. The menu showed an omelet before 7 am but when I called to order they said their early morning menu was only toast and fruit. That’s okay but don’t put it on the menu if you won’t serve it. Safety… the lifeguard on duty never watched the ocean when guests were in the ocean. I have pics of him facing the opposite direction watching the construction workers. Things liked: 2 staff made a positive impression by remembering my name and always saying hi with a smile: Ingrid, hostess at Zangos, and Sebastian, bar tender. Cleaning staff did amazing cleaning my room. Loved extra things like drinks in room being restocked daily, bed being prepared in early evening, friendly staff always smiling and saying hello, and champagne and cheese cake brought to my room for my birthday. Allt på detta hotellet var utmärkt. Det var så rent och fint överallt och servicen var perfekt. All personal var så välkomnade och trevliga och väldigt måna om oss. Vi uppskattade maten och åt oftast på buffé Zango då det fanns så mycket gott att välja på och personalen tog väl hand om oss. Upon arrival, there was no proper introduction to the property or its amenities—only a strong push for timeshare participation. The ATM was non-functional for the entire eight-day stay, and the front desk was unable to provide change for tipping, which created an ongoing inconvenience. Additionally, a water damage issue in our room went unaddressed for two full days despite multiple requests, and no compensation or meaningful response was offered by the staff. Lastly, the pool experience could be significantly enhanced if the infinity flow system and overflow mechanisms were functioning properly. Several other guests we spoke with also noted this issue. We did enjoy the pool activities, location including ocean view and breakfast options were average compared to lunch / dinner. Oddly, there was no authentic Mexican cuisine not even at lunch.

We arrived on a Friday afternoon and were not able to get into any of the “5” restaurants for dinner so we had the buffet and the food was OK, but the dining room was very warm with no air circulation. That evening there was no entertainment except in a small room in basement with hardly any seating, not to mention it was all in Spanish . The next night was my birthday and once again no reservations available. Come to find out, ONLY TWO OF THE FIVE RESTAURANTS ARE OPEN EACH NIGHT. Also discovered that they were short staffed for cooks to provide reservations to a lot of people. Our third and last evening we tried to get a reservation and was told to check back with concierge at 4 pm, and at that time were told NO reservations available. This was very unsatisfactory considering how much we paid. The service was terrible in the buffet area and also the outside restaurant. No one acknowledged for drinks, refills etc., and the food at outside restaurant took more than 20 minutes each time we ordered, with the exception of the last morning when I ordered a plain bagel and it never arrived until we were walking out the door. The room was decent except the bedding was stained (comforter) and there was mold growing in the bathroom. Unfortunately, We will not be visiting this resort again. However, the beach was beautiful

Finally got around to writing this review! My friends and I stayed at Sandos in Cancun from November 4th to 8th, and I just had to share our experience. I’ve been to Cancun many times — I truly love this place. But this was my first time staying at this particular hotel. To be honest, at first, I was ready to write a very negative review because the hotel turned out to be a bit different from what I expected. It’s definitely not new anymore and has quite a few flaws. But everything completely changed when the manager, Stefano Rayo, paid attention to our complaints… He turned out to be some kind of magician! Initially, we received a free room upgrade since I have Platinum membership with Expedia, but there was no hot water in the shower — we had to take cold showers even though we reported it several times. The issue wasn’t resolved… until Stefano found out about our problem. He gave us another, even better room with hot water! And his attitude toward us was simply outstanding — very respectful, polite, and professional. We truly felt like queens! 👑 We’re so grateful to him for doing everything possible to make our stay comfortable. Thanks to Stefano, our opinion about the hotel completely changed! The app they use is convenient to make reservations to their restaurants however there was one event masquerade dinner that was on their app, we were so excited for it that when we walked over to it we were told that it was by reservation only :( their app never stated that it was by reservation only. We were super disappointed since we had attended their Mexican night previously and it was such a great evening, good food options, entertainment Las Tres Maria’s performance, loved them. Just a wonderful time. It is an older hotel, so we did have some issues with the shower pressure and also no hot water at times on. Overall we enjoyed our stay there.

Customer services was non-existent. From check in to check out, the staff indoors were entirely useless. Never realized how important good customer service was until I received none. Unfortunately, the amazing pool and beach waiters work here. I hope they move on elsewhere. They were fantastic! Food was fine. There was one show, it was terrible. Grounds are junky. Spa is average at best. View is incredible. If you want a cheap place with a good beach, go. But don’t expect anything else.

Despite recent renovations that create an illusion of luxury, the hotel still shows rust and calcium buildup on bathroom fixtures. The walls are extremely thin, so loud conversations and slamming doors start waking you up as early as 6 a.m. Not to mention the ongoing construction in the room above us that started at 9am and didn’t end until 6pm, so hope you don’t like taking mid day naps after being in the sun all day. Food was average, and the bartenders didn’t make quality drinks. Pool seating was almost impossible to find since guests can use unlimited towels to claim multiple chairs, daybeds, and beach spots at once. Restaurants don’t take reservations unless you’re a Royal Elite member, which often leads to waits of up to an hour. On the positive side, the pools were great, the beachfront was nicer than most properties, and the staff was consistently friendly. Overall, though, the resort falls short of the luxury experience it aims to provide.

This is a nice, relatively quiet property. It has a lot less rooms than most of the resorts in the hotel zone. It should be noted that we truly enjoyed our stay, but we did not think we received the VIP upgrades we paid for. Our room over looked the tennis courts and was loud due to machines running below our room. From our balcony we did have bay views. The pro’s for the resort include: friendly staff, hotel and premises kept very clean, good food and many options to choose from. There were plenty of pool towels, no cards needed and rooms had keyless entry. Daily yoga or stretching classes were offered. The con’s include: no hot tub as noted in the hotel description unless you paid for a spa service, a nice gym but equipment not maintained and not cleaned by staff or guests after use, no hand sanitizer as is customary in most resorts in any common areas or restaurants. We do agree we would stay at this resort again. The wait staff was exceptionally friendly and reservations were easy to make for our stay upon arrival. The showers had plenty of hot water and water pressure. No issues with A/C. I gave this resort a four star rating but it’s really a 4.5 and could easily become a 5 with small changes. They offer an app, but some of that was still in development stages, when it’s fully functional, that will be an excellent addition. From the hotel, you could walk to two nearby malls. We also walked to a nearby bus stop to catch the ferry for a trip to the Isle Mujures.

I had a wonderful stay at Sandos. The bedroom was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, making it easy to relax after a long day. The hotel environment is beautiful and peaceful, with well-maintained grounds that add to the overall charm. I felt completely safe and secure walking around the area, both during the day and in the evening. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with a smile. We stayed for a week and had an amazing time at Sandos Cancun. All of the staff from the Front Desk, Restaurants, and Resort Activities provided outstanding service and were friendly with great attitudes. We felt very welcomed from the moment we walked in. The Resort is smaller than others but felt like the Staff cared more. Our Room was a great size with a balcony and a great view of the ocean. A/C kept the room very cool. Bathroom was a good size and clean. Food was very good at the many Restaurants and the buffet was a solid choice for meals if you didn't have a reservation somewhere else. St. Trop was outstanding for Breakfasts and Lunch. Drinks were great and it never felt like we waited very long for a drink. The 3 pools were the best feature by far. They were never too crowded and we could always find a spot to hang out. Beach access was nice and the only downside was the seaweed but that was no big deal to us. We will definitely be coming again at some point. I couldn't recommend this gem any more!!

The room was perfect along with the service in the restaurants and bars. what threw us off is that in order to have certain liquors you have to be a member of their "Royal Elite", they advertise the property as all inclusive, that is not all inclusive. We will never stay there again. We have been to Cancun several times, and neve came across something like this in any of the resort we stayed in the past.

Allt på detta hotellet var utmärkt. Det var så rent och fint överallt och servicen var perfekt. All personal var så välkomnade och trevliga och väldigt måna om oss. Vi uppskattade maten och åt oftast på buffé Zango då det fanns så mycket gott att välja på och personalen tog väl hand om oss. Underhållningen var jättebra och vi hade en underbar semester och hade all lyx vi kunde önska oss. Städ och roomservice var perfekt.

We arrived on a Friday afternoon and were not able to get into any of the “5” restaurants for dinner so we had the buffet and the food was OK, but the dining room was very warm with no air circulation. That evening there was no entertainment except in a small room in basement with hardly any seating, not to mention it was all in Spanish . The next night was my birthday and once again no reservations available. Come to find out, ONLY TWO OF THE FIVE RESTAURANTS ARE OPEN EACH NIGHT. Also discovered that they were short staffed for cooks to provide reservations to a lot of people. Our third and last evening we tried to get a reservation and was told to check back with concierge at 4 pm, and at that time were told NO reservations available. This was very unsatisfactory considering how much we paid. The service was terrible in the buffet area and also the outside restaurant. No one acknowledged for drinks, refills etc., and the food at outside restaurant took more than 20 minutes each time we ordered, with the exception of the last morning when I ordered a plain bagel and it never arrived until we were walking out the door. The room was decent except the bedding was stained (comforter) and there was mold growing in the bathroom. Unfortunately, We will not be visiting this resort again. However, the beach was beautiful

The beach was beautiful, water was a dream. Our room was very clean with a great layout. We enjoyed the robes very much! As a couple who frequent Mexico and many different all inclusive properties approx 3-4 times a year, we were extremely disappointed in staff friendliness with the exception of Freddy at the pool, he was great! I’d like to preface that we are not foodies BUT the food selection was horrible on the buffet and making reservations at the specialty restaurants was not convenient and mostly booked up every night of our stay. Room service was equally bad. The shows were lacking and overall boring. The entertainment crew gave little effort to get guests involved. Only having one bar open at night was pretty annoying because it was in the small lounge with loud drunk people. Until we arrived at the property, I didn’t realize it was a membership property. Only members could sit in certain places, use certain beds, they had their own bar poolside, own waiters, better seating at poolside restaurant, top shelf liquor etc. When I book all inclusive, I expect all inclusive. This was a major turnoff for us. I take the blame for not knowing about the membership but it’s reason enough for us to not come back to Sandos Cancun. On the bright side, the spa was a real highlight! Couples massages were wonderful! As always, we met great people and enjoyed being in Mexico. The Sando’s isn’t awful but it’s not great and we won’t be back. We’re Riu property people for sure!

The app they use is convenient to make reservations to their restaurants however there was one event masquerade dinner that was on their app, we were so excited for it that when we walked over to it we were told that it was by reservation only :( their app never stated that it was by reservation only. We were super disappointed since we had attended their Mexican night previously and it was such a great evening, good food options, entertainment Las Tres Maria’s performance, loved them. Just a wonderful time. It is an older hotel, so we did have some issues with the shower pressure and also no hot water at times on. Overall we enjoyed our stay there.

Food was awful. Buffet was cold or dried out. Service was average at best in restaurants. The adults only crowd was loud w party music, not relaxing or peaceful. Not enough seats at pool or on beach. Massage, room service staff and housekeeping staff were wonderful. Sauna in spa broke, hot tub dirty and needed cleaned. OVERALL GREAT LOCATION, would not recommend for adults looking for peace & quiet to relax.

The facility was clean and we had a nice stay with great amenities. The beach and pool were well maintained and pretty. The staff was excellent other than the people trying to upsell their membership/premier packages, which distracted us from our ability to relax and simply enjoy our vacation. If you are looking for a variety of meal options this is not the place to stay, but the food they did have was good and the restaurants staff were very lovely.
