Residence Inn by Marriott Near Universal Orlando

Room was large and comfortable. Microwave, stovetop, refrigerator. Breakfast options great! Friendly staff. Always hot coffee, decaf, and hot water for tea. Pool is not heated, no hot tub. Free shuttle to universal studios, sign up the night before or first thing in AM for earliest bust to park. Would definitely stay again! Pets also welcome.

Conveniently located near Universal Studios, free shuttle to parks and about 20 mins walkabke distance. Rooms clean, breakfast included with decent choice of buffet. Free parking. Washer and dryer on premises for $2 each. Little functional kitchenette in the room. We were a party of 5 and we were allvery satisfied.

These were probably the largest hotel rooms I've ever seen. Our room had lots of space with a kitchen and utensils - everything someone might need for a few days. The huge bonus was the FREE transportarion to Universal parks. Make your reservation with the park agent near the front desk. Would definitely stay here again!

I loved the property. The only downfall was that after dinner we were hoping to go for a swim but the pool was already closed-says it closes at sunset which was before 8pm. The kids were disappointed because it is a beautiful pool.

NO washing machines. Not to whine, but to some Guests this is a biggie. Clearly represented as there, we were told they had been out for weeks, and a new pair was coming; we could go across the street to a sister hotel. I asked for an an adjustment, was told I would hear from A manager I said ok. Didn’t happen.

Great hotel! It was clean and very close to parks. Their FREE breakfast and FREE shuttle that takes you to parks is also a huge PRO!

This hotel went above my expectations! Already entering the property, the parking is FREE and has many spaces. On top of that, the hotel is close to so many spots from theme parks, restaurants, and malls. We ubered to Universal Orlando Studios and only had to pay $10 due to how close we were from the park (20 minute walk). Once you enter the hotel, it smells fresh and is clean. The concierge was super sweet amd helpful, check-out was seamless. Our room was neat and tidy. The room (suite) was a 10/10 as well, bigger than expected especially the bathroom. Breakfast was delicious with many stations and options. This is a hotel I will definitely stay at again and recommend to those who want comfort and luxury for an affordable price.

My 3rd stay. The breakfast has gone downhill, the furniture has always so so and only 1 of 3 elevators worked. With only 1 elevator working you may wait awhile. The thermostat was hard to change.

This was a very nice hotel with one exception….the pool is not heated. For a winter vacation, it’s hard to get in a cold pool. Breakfast was very good..lots of variety.

Excellent stay. Gym could do with a little improvement and perhaps options for dining in the evening. Other than that, decent location and convenient.

The room we were in was not clean. Shower wall has crack and floor (reported these issues right away to the front desk) The door washroom I wiped it down as the dust was very obvious. The duvet cover has blood stained very disgusting and took a picture of it and show the front desk lady and she is even disgusted with picture. We stayed here 5 days and cleaning is only done every other day. Trash is piled up as it is only picked every other day. The only good this about our stay is hotel is partnered with Iniversal Studio and shuttle to Universal studio is right in front of the property. Breakfast is good.

The location in relation to Universal is good. Being a previous outlet manager for the Marriot and knowing their hospitality standards, the cleanliness of the room was very underwhelming and the welcoming environment was lacking (no "welcomes" or "good mornings" other than from a young maintenance worker and the ladies tending to the buffet). The chairs at the kitchen island and the desk area were very dirty (white marks/wear and tear). There was sticky residue in the carpet near the desk area. The dishwasher did not have the proper amount of wheels on the bottom rack in order to function/clean properly. There was also mold in the shower area on the tiles above the shower head and urine clearly around the base of the toilet. Having a reservation for 4 people would also require 4 body towels versus only having 2 provided. The morning breakfast buffet could use more rotations. In addition, more fruit choices would have been great. We were unaware that the hotel was dog friendly, that may have changed our overall choice to stay there. The pool was absolutely disgusting, not maintained at all. The kids were most disappointed with that. Especially having a full-on view of the neat splash pad at the Double Tree located just behind. Lastly, when asking the gentleman at the front desk if it was OK to use powder detergent in the washers as it clearly only showed liquid on the labels of the machine his response came across quite snotty, "Well I don't know how it works in other

Room was disgusting. I squashed 2 cockroaches and when I went to use a towel, it had a clump of hair (was Not Mine) hanging off of it.

I had extra residents in my room. I found 2 in the bathroom in just a brief 16 hour stay.

We stayed for 4 nights and our room was not cleaned even once! Very unique feature of this hotel. There is no cleaning team available.

House cleaning was inadequate.

I think that the garbage should be removed every day. We asked to change the towels but they didn’t.

Check in was at 4 and we had to wait for them to clean the rooms for an hour. Then one room the A/C would not work properly and the other had ants.

Our room had an odour from the AC. It was very evident each time we returned to the room. The staff were great and very helpful. Breakfast was great and well stocked. The pool could have been cleaner. Looks like it needs a deep cleaning. We were happy with our stay and price point.

The place is great for the most part. It’s close to universal with about a 20-25 minute walk to citywalk. The room was nice and spacious. However the worst part is that the ac units are right next to your bed and it’s pretty obnoxious during the night. Woke my husband up every time. Also the bed was pretty firm (not my preference). Otherwise the breakfast was great with many options daily. The front desk was always cheerful and kind. Also the Japanese steakhouse near by was great!

Perfect hotel to go to universal parks. Sofa bed for the children no so confortable.

It’s a nice hotel. Staff is friendly and the hotel is clean. They only con is the beds are horrible! I’ve stayed here a few times before.

The music from across the lake played until 4:30 all Labor Day weekend.

Room was very large with kitchenette and large bathroom. Very clean. Nice large l shaped couch but was not very comfortable. Also the king bed we had felt like you were laying on plywood. My back hurt so bad every morning. We asked to switch rooms but hotel was booked solid until later in the week, so they gave us extra comforters to try and soften the bed. Didnt do much but helped a tiny bit.

Great location, close to everything. Only issue was water pressure in the shower and pillows was so soft.

I was surprised how spacious the room was. We had two queen beds in a studio. The layout was very spacious. Highly recommend this hote.

The AC unit is very loud. Its beside the bed.

I reserved a room and prepaid in full days in advance, I also checked in online a few hours before I arrived. When I arrived they said they didn’t have a room for me there and sent me to a nearby hotel which was clean but appeared to be a lower star rating.

Had an amazing stay, would come back again, free breakfast was good, they change up a few of the options every day. Staff was extremely friendly, had an early flight and they allowed us to check in early with an available room, and also had a late flight out so they gave us a day pass key to hang out by the pool and other areas until we had to leave, as well as storing our luggage for us. Room was cleaned every 2 days. Free shuttle service to and from universal studios. Over all great place, and many great restaurants in walking distance, and some shopping malls near by.

Unfortunately, we had a few issues with our room and when we contacted the front desk staff the first night they said they were completely booked, which I understand, but did not attempt to help us in any other way. The next morning we again went down to the front desk in hopes of speaking with a manager and asked if anything could be down now and they said well people are still checking out so when a new room is ready we can move you. We never heard from the hotel to move us rooms and by the time we got back to the hotel it was too late in the evening to ask. They never reached out to us since.

Absolutely EXCELLENT staff!! I can't recall the last time I met such personable hotel staff at all levels. The rooms are great and I like that it had a kitchenette that was well laid out. The only issue I had was that there was no lotion in the room - not sure if hotels are not doing that any more but I think that it's essential. Also there was loud music throughout the night coming from a nearby nightclub. To be honest it was disturbing but everything else was so good especially the staff that I didn't make it an issue.

I'm highly disappointed with the night time staff. There was not any soap, shampoo, or conditioner in the shower dispensers. I called the front desk to get help with providing soap, shampoo, and conditioner to my room. I am permanently handicapped. The front desk said that they had soap, shampoo, and conditioner, but they were not able to bring the items to me. I just had neck and back surgery done. I explained that to the front desk employee. I have trouble walking. The front desk employee said that they can't bring me what I paid to have in the room previously to my arrival. I feel disrespected that due to my disabilities, I was unable to shower and clean myself properly like I paid to do. To not make accommodations for a handicapped person due to housekeeping's laziness to properly provide soap, shampoo, and conditioner is extremely hurtful and disrespectful. The American with disabilities federal program should be contacted and the incident reported. The girl at the front desk was too lazy to bring soap, shampoo, and conditioner up to my room, so I could shower. She may not be allowed to due that due to management problems. I hope that the next disabled guests don't have the same type of disrespect and unaccommodating services that I was provided during my stay. Something should be done about this! If we should involve the federal government, I'm willing to testify. Buyer beware!

After checking in the day before and arriving the day of at 11pm with my 3 young boys and husband to only discover our room was not available to us and sold to someone else was quite frustrating. In addition, i was asked to stay in a room with one bed and couch where i could place my 3 young boys fo sleep for the night. Eventually i was offered to split my family in half between 3 rooms. The rooms were full of issues, hallways smelled like weed everywhere, huge party going on till 12:30 at night and all the guests down the hallway were loud and waking up my kids. Eventually after a lot of talks with the staff, we were switched to another room with 2 beds. The beds were uncomfortable, breakfast daily was a disaster(always running out of food). Overbooked it was visibly seen. An odd thing i saw was a smoke alarm detector system on the side of the wall not on top of a ceiling. Extremely strange. Otherwise, breakfast was filling and everyday different options. Can't say the staff members were all friendly and professional. The only friendly ones were Gerald and the assistant manager on the last day of check out.

The staff especially the night front desk are phenomenal. Always attentive. This location is close to everything, free transportation provided although hours are limited but its still offered. Free breakfast and parking! Laundry is available too. Overall, I will rate this hotel A and highly recommend to all my friends and relatives.

The check in was wonderful. The front desk attendant, Shannon, was very friendly, helpful and efficient.

We decided to stay at the Residence Inn for our universal studios trip & it was a good choice! The staff (Mark at the front desk was great) is friendly & our room was big, clean & comfortable. The free breakfast had a nice variety of hot & cold items. There is a shuttle bus with a limited schedule to universal so we found ourselves walking most days, which took about 20 minutes. The hotel is very close to quite a few restaurants also. We will definitely stay here again!

Great place , close to Universal and Malls

Great location, very close to the Universal Studios (walking distance). Basically close to everything you need (highway, shopping, dining, entertainment). Very friendly and supportive staff. Would return if in the Orlando area again.

It was very clean and quiet. The area was more vacationers that you really needed to rent a car. I use Uber a lot. I didn’t find that there were a lot of places to eat. The pool was great having Universal Studios was close by, you could buy your tickets at the resort saved time and it’s convenient, I didn’t see any pets, but I prefer to go to a hotel that does not have pets.

Great location, close to Universal Studios and many dining areas.

Property is in a convenient location, approximately 30 minute walk from Universal City Walk valet parking entrance. There are a small number of restaurants and shops surrounding the property, although the area is undergoing development. Easy on-site parking. International Drive and I4 are a short distance away by road. The property is very spacious and well equipped. Rooms are huge and comfortable. Breakfast is reasonable, the make-your-own waffle station being particularly enjoyable. All crockery and cutlery is disposable, the environmental impact of this must be massive. The property struggled with basic provisions, for instance there was no orange juice at breakfast for almost a full week. Coffee was bland. Basic amenities and quality of service from staff is poor in areas. For instance, the greeting from front door staff is variable. It took three requests to have the shower gel in our room replaced, this being empty on our arrival. Room service is every two days, but the quality of the service varies greatly. Specifically informed our room would be fully serviced every six days including fresh sheets, this didn’t happen. Towel allocation by the room service team is very random, you might get one bath towel, two hand towels and four face cloths. Widely advertised gymnasium is not as stated, most equipment missing, no cleaning equipment. Overall, reasonably well located and this is a property that has massive potential, but is significantly let down by basic failures

We were really pleased with this hotel. Very friendly staff, nice breakfast (not too busy) and a very spacious room. It was like an oasis of calm after a busy day at Universal. Free parking was great and location excellent to get to the parks 5min drive, 20min walk). We used the free shuttle bus every day and it runs at convenient times. We particularly liked the 5:20 bus back as we could then take the hire car back in and make use of the free parking after 6 at city walk. Room was nice and clean on arrival. We would definitely stay here again if in Orlando and recommend it to anyone looking for a budget friendly place to stay near universal. The only thing that could have been slightly better is more attentive house keeping. I think they must have had the number of people staying in the room as two rather than 5. Every other day was fine and they did a great job but we did have to ask for a toilet roll, replacement conditioner, tissues and the right number of towels. These things didn’t bother us as it reduces any wastage, but may bother other people.

Disappointed with the breakfast choice.

We stayed for three weeks and there were 4 of us in a suite and my children are 10 and 11. The hotel was a perfect choice for us; 25 min walk to Universal, decent enough pool, room was superb size with very comfy beds and tons of space to even do yoga in the mornings. The only thing stopping me giving this a five star review was the breakfast was a bit repetitive and unimaginative. Aside from that totally suited our needs and would highly recommend.

Loved our 13 night stay, rooms were really spacious and clean, and it was a perfect location for Universal as we either caught the free shuttle bus or walked. Could also catch the IRide outside to Seaworld and Aquatica. The free breakfast was plentiful and changed daily and kids loved to make their own waffles. The only thing I missed was a balcony to hang out wet clothes but there was a reasonably priced laundrette on site that we used a few times. Would highly recommend.

Good overall but not at par with other Residence Inns that we stayed in the past. Breakfast is avergae, not many options for vegetarian. They could have provided some oats, potatoes etc. Also food quality needs improvement at this location.
