The recent high ratings across the board speak volumes. I can only add to the same and say that it’s an excellent hotel with extra large rooms, comfortable bed and an unbeatable location right across the station. Breakfast is limited but freshly made and of high quality. Complimentary drinks, sake and tea are a nice touch. Highly recommended!

Clean Hotel With Perks — Just Know There’s NO ELEVATOR/LIFT While the hotel listing does mention there’s no elevator, it’s not emphasized enough — and it should be. Check-in is on the second floor, and there’s no lift from the ground floor. Many guests, including myself, were surprised and had to carry heavy luggage up the stairs. This detail should be made more prominent in the booking information. The room is clean and spacious, and the hotel offers thoughtful amenities. There’s free use of the washer and dryer (with soap provided), and the dryer works better than most other hotels I’ve stayed at. The fridge in the room is stocked with complimentary drinks — water, juice, soda, and beer — and there are also free personal care items available. Breakfast is included, but because the dining area is small, guests are assigned scheduled breakfast times. Despite that, the breakfast has a good variety of food to choose from. The one major downside for me was room security. Although the door has a lock, it didn’t work, and there’s no safety latch. The door also opens outward, which made me feel uneasy. Overall, it’s a clean and convenient place to stay with generous amenities, but the lack of elevator access and the room security issue are things to be aware of before booking.

Excellent service, the lobby is in the second floor and there is no elevator, they were more than willing to help with luggage. Items in refrigerator were free to guest, loundry also free. The room was clean spacious beautiful just beautifully. Breakfast was very good, the best part of breakfast in my opinion, was the Ice cream that was available for breakfast. Overall it was a great, great experience.

We loved our stay here - our room was large and comfortable and well equipped and the breakfast was excellent. Location was perfect - so close to the station but also walkable distance to all the main sights. Only downside to our room was that there are no windows to open and the one window was frosted. Beware that while there are lifts inside, it’s about 30 steps up to reception which can make for a challenging time with luggage!

We loved our stay here - our room was large and comfortable and well equipped and the breakfast was excellent. Location was perfect - so close to the station but also walkable distance to all the main sights. Only downside to our room was that there are no windows to open and the one window was frosted. Beware that while there are lifts inside, it’s about 30 steps up to reception which can make for a challenging time with luggage!

We were a bit unsure of this hotel but we’re glad we stayed. It was a hostel that is now a hotel, so our room was quite large, set up with a kitchen, and would be perfect for a family. The bathroom was clean and new and it was all very comfortable. Not to mention complimentary sake and beer! It is across the street from Takayama station, so very convenient, yet on a street that isn’t busy.

The property is in excellent condition and extremely well maintained! Facility was modern and offered modern conveniences. There is a free to use laundry room on site. Room was large, very clean, bathroom was fabulous with jetted tub and large shower room. Beds were very comfortable. They offer lots of free items such as free Netflix, WiFi cold drinks including beer, complimentary sake, ramen, toiletries, etc. The paid breakfast buffet was excellent with ample options and the staff was absolutely lovely and so friendly. Would definitely stay here again!

ホテルエントランスまでの階段は荷物を運ぶのが大変でしたが、お部屋の清潔感、広さは大満足でした。浴室も大変広く、ジェットバス付きで旅の疲れも癒されました。他の方の投稿にもありましたが、ち朝食バイキングでの注文後のパンケーキ、焼鳥は最高でした。バイキング時の席も予め準備されていてとても快適でした。またバイキングのスタッフの方がとても丁寧でとても嬉しかったです。部屋のテレビがNetflix、YouTubeのみの視聴で中国語表記となっていて設定を変更するのに少し戸惑いました。

Kanon service, fantastisk personale, god morgen mad. Alt hvad man skal bruge på værelset… Køleskab med vand , øl og sodavand på ankomst dagen 👍👍 Super centralt og nemt hvis man rejser med bagage. Virkelig godt hotel til prisen 👍👍

We had a wonderful stay! The property is in a fantastic location, just a 2 minute walk from Takayama Station. The rooms were very clean and spacious, with a great bathtub. Free breakfast had great options. The only downside was that there’s no lift from the ground level up to reception, which might be tricky if you have heavy luggage. Otherwise, everything else was excellent.

Beautiful new property everything was clean. We had the large family room. Walkable to Takayama sights. My kids loved this hotel and thought it was the best one they have stayed in during this trip around Japan. I would highly recommend this place.

太棒了！離車站僅步行5分鐘，服務人員很親切，還讓我們一家提早check in 連寄行李都省下來了，房間超大、乾淨，甚至還有按摩浴缸跟視聽室，全家人都讚不絕口，下次再訪高山肯定會選擇這間。

You can’t do much better than this when staying in Takayama. Right next to the station and walking distance to key attractions. The family suite was amazing and my daughters loved the camping play room and projector. The breakfast was perfect and the staff couldn’t be any more helpful. Great value stay!

大人二人子供一人で宿泊。部屋が非常に狭く、ベッドもダブルサイズ一個のみでソファーもなく、3人はきつかった。テレビもYouTubeとNetflixしか観れず、地デジでローカル番組が観たかった。ウェルカムドリンクはありがたかった。

We booked a family suite and it was perfect. So comfortable it came with everything we needed and more. The room is very big and they were generous with complimentary drinks and amenities. Our kid had so much fun in the camp room with projector we did not want to leave. Will definitely recommend this place

Hotel is a very short distance from train station. Check-in and out staff members were wonderful. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast very much. The food was great. The breakfast servers were very professional, friendly, kind to ensure we enjoy the breakfast. We felt very welcome.

Excellent service, the lobby is in the second floor and there is no elevator, they were more than willing to help with luggage. Items in refrigerator were free to guest, loundry also free. The room was clean spacious beautiful just beautifully. Breakfast was very good, the best part of breakfast in my opinion, was the Ice cream that was available for breakfast. Overall it was a great, great experience.

Even though there was a sign to ring the bell for help with luggage to the 2nd floor, no one came to help after ringing the bell several times so we had to carry our luggages up ourselves. Other than that, everything else was excellent.

Amazing place!! In terms of service it feels like a 5-star hotel. Friendly and attentive staff, excellent breakfast, very clean and comfortable beds. We stayed at the family suite which had a tent and a projector so the kids had a movie night and camping every evening :)

You can’t do much better than this when staying in Takayama. Right next to the station and walking distance to key attractions. The family suite was amazing and my daughters loved the camping play room and projector. The breakfast was perfect and the staff couldn’t be any more helpful. Great value stay!

We had a wonderful stay! The property is in a fantastic location, just a 2 minute walk from Takayama Station. The rooms were very clean and spacious, with a great bathtub. Free breakfast had great options. The only downside was that there’s no lift from the ground level up to reception, which might be tricky if you have heavy luggage. Otherwise, everything else was excellent.

We were a bit unsure of this hotel but we’re glad we stayed. It was a hostel that is now a hotel, so our room was quite large, set up with a kitchen, and would be perfect for a family. The bathroom was clean and new and it was all very comfortable. Not to mention complimentary sake and beer! It is across the street from Takayama station, so very convenient, yet on a street that isn’t busy.

太棒了！離車站僅步行5分鐘，服務人員很親切，還讓我們一家提早check in 連寄行李都省下來了，房間超大、乾淨，甚至還有按摩浴缸跟視聽室，全家人都讚不絕口，下次再訪高山肯定會選擇這間。

The property is right in front of Takayama station and accessible by car. There are coin parking lots nearby as well as souvenir shops. Plenty of dining options as well around the area. We had the opted for breakfast at the hotel and it was very well organized with a selection of Japanese and Western food, very much enjoyed the pancakes and yakitori that were cooked to order.

The recent high ratings across the board speak volumes. I can only add to the same and say that it’s an excellent hotel with extra large rooms, comfortable bed and an unbeatable location right across the station. Breakfast is limited but freshly made and of high quality. Complimentary drinks, sake and tea are a nice touch. Highly recommended!

Clean Hotel With Perks — Just Know There’s NO ELEVATOR/LIFT While the hotel listing does mention there’s no elevator, it’s not emphasized enough — and it should be. Check-in is on the second floor, and there’s no lift from the ground floor. Many guests, including myself, were surprised and had to carry heavy luggage up the stairs. This detail should be made more prominent in the booking information. The room is clean and spacious, and the hotel offers thoughtful amenities. There’s free use of the washer and dryer (with soap provided), and the dryer works better than most other hotels I’ve stayed at. The fridge in the room is stocked with complimentary drinks — water, juice, soda, and beer — and there are also free personal care items available. Breakfast is included, but because the dining area is small, guests are assigned scheduled breakfast times. Despite that, the breakfast has a good variety of food to choose from. The one major downside for me was room security. Although the door has a lock, it didn’t work, and there’s no safety latch. The door also opens outward, which made me feel uneasy. ホテルエントランスまでの階段は荷物を運ぶのが大変でしたが、お部屋の清潔感、広さは大満足でした。浴室も大変広く、ジェットバス付きで旅の疲れも癒されました。他の方の投稿にもありましたが、ち朝食バイキングでの注文後のパンケーキ、焼鳥は最高でした。バイキング時の席も予め準備されていてとても快適でした。またバイキングのスタッフの方がとても丁寧でとても嬉しかったです。部屋のテレビがNetflix、YouTubeのみの視聴で中国語表記となっていて設定を変更するのに少し戸惑いました。

Spacious room with a kitchen, perfect for day trips!Booked the Standard Twin Room and it was incredibly spacious. The kitchen and hot plate were perfect for cooking supermarket Hida beef, which is much cheaper than restaurants (though the smell does linger!). The location is super near the bus terminal, making it great for day trips like Kamikochi to escape the summer heat. The only downside is no lift to the second floor, but the concierge will gladly help carry your luggage up if you ring the bell. Highly recommend!

I'm a Westerner and I came to Takayama during Obon week to hopefully flee the heat and some of the crowds. There weren't a lot of hotel options available for our family. I usually go for Western hotel chains but gave Relax a chance since the price and location was right and the reviews raved. It lives up to the hype. It's definitely an awesome value. I was definitely impressed with Relax. It's an easy walk from the train station. The mattresses are thick and pretty good. The room was spacious and clean and the breakfast was delicious and large. They also include complimentary beverages and a kitchenette. With limited options I just booked it and didn't realize there was a kitchenette but it could have saves us a lot of money if we decided to cook in the room. I say this with high regard: Relax is like a grown up hostel you can bring your kids. Safe, clean, high value in a location you want to be in.

Comfortable stay in a modern, spacious room with comfortable beds. Everything was included in the price - breakfast, laundry, minibar, … friendly and helpful staff, good location, child-friendly. Overall we were very happy here. Disadvantages: the air quality was not so good, the ventilation/ac did not provide enough fresh air. No real windows in the room, so we relied on the ac for fresh air.
