Great stay. Great property and great staff. The room was spacious, clean, and perfect for our larger family. There are 5 of us, so the kids had bunk beds, wife and I had two twins put together for us with the baby. Ample space for eating which was perfect for take out brought back to the room. Great shower and tub with toilet separate. The kitchen was great including the larger fridge that was so much more helpful than the tiny ones you normally get in hotel rooms. The laundry facility was great. Coin operated, normally I don't do laundry but it was raining so it was so helpful to have. The staff was amazing. They were able to help with directions, scheduling taxi, and most importantly help us in a bind. We forgot a package all the way back in Harajuku. I asked if they were able to help call the store to see if it was there. They were able to do so given the language barrier. Unfortunately the store was unable to ship it to us, but we were able to get back there to pick it up. Lastly, they were able to accommodate a late checkout for a nominal fee. Recommend this place for all families, larger parties, those wanting a larger than normal room in Japan. Oh and also it's only about a 5 minute walk to Ueno station

This is the second Mimaru we have stayed in and, like the other, it did not disappoint. Clean, friendly staff, close to the train and within walking distance of the main shopping and food streets in Ueno, laundry facilities on site (3 washing machines and 3 dryers), close to Lawson and Family Mart, close to the station for the Shinkansen and also for the metro and overall a great family experience!

Staff is friendly and helpful. Room facilities are clean and good. Kitchenware is good but it does not provide with salt and oil so making cooking a bit difficult. Hope this can be supplied upon request. Laundry facilities are not in the room. It is public paid laundrette on the 2nd floor. Night time around 7pm to 10 pm are busy hours so you need to "fight" or line up, even though there are 4 washing and drying machine each and 2 fully automatic wash-dry machines which can only do 3.5 kg per load. Hotel is about 15 mins walk from Ueno station. Neighbourhood only has two Lawson convenient stores. If you want to eat or shop, you need to walk back to the Ameyokocho area. This is not too ideal when you are tired and carrying stuffs (after shopping).

スタッフが皆親切で丁寧な対応をしてくださりました。問題なく快適に過ごせました。ホテル内にランドリーもあり便利です。上野駅入谷口改札から出てすぐにファミリーマートがあるので、そこで食料を調達して部屋でご飯を済ませることもできました。

Staff was very helpful, friendly and professional. Room condition was great, with modern appliances and with plenty room for a family of 4. Loved the kitchen, we cooked breakfast a few times and gave us an option to save and enjoy American breakfast with groceries purchased from local mini mart. First time staying at an apartment hotel and definitely Mimaru exceeded our expectations, and had a big part of us enjoying our Tokyo vacation!

酒店房很大，可以煮嘢食。東京好難搵到咁大嘅酒店，當然價錢貴啲嘅。 酒店嚮應環保，沒有拖鞋及牙刷，但如果要求佢哋都會借比你。 離鐵路站都有兩個街口距離。

Mimaru Tokyo Ueno North We stayed here for four nights as a family of four and appreciated how convenient it was to get to — easy airport access via the Skyliner and just a short walk to the nearest train station for exploring other parts of Tokyo. The hotel is in an older part of town, close to Ueno Park and Zoo, and about a 30-minute walk to Asakusa and Senso-ji Temple. The staff were great — friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The room size worked well for our family, and the bunk bed setup was perfect for the kids. However, there were a few downsides. The room didn’t have access to fresh air since the windows don’t open, and there was a light lingering sewer smell. It was generally clean, but compared to other Mimaru hotels we’ve stayed at, this one didn’t quite measure up. Overall, a convenient and family-friendly option for exploring Tokyo, though there’s room for improvement.

The property is very well kept and maintained with an attentive, happy, and genuinely friendly staff. The room was great for our family - four of us got to make this trip together. Location Notes: We chose the Ueno area because of the beautiful park and because there isn't much of a nightlife scene making for a quieter evening. The hotel and area lived up to those expectations. One thing we didn't really grasp from the map is that the hotel is a bit further walk from the Ueno Train Station than appeared. One of the big draws for this hotel is the proximity to the Ueno Station which gives you excellent access to the rest of Tokyo (especially via the JR Yamonote train line which is a loop around most of the hotspots a visitor/tourist will want to visit during their stay). However, it was a bit of a longer walk from the station to the hotel than looked on the map. It's not a terribly long walk, but we were walking about 10 miles a day so were feeling every step by the end of the day. The big tip is to use the station's Iriya gate which is the northernmost gate of the station with both up and down escalators. Once we discovered that gate it really shortened the walk to the station. Conclusion: The Mimaru Tokyo Ueno North hotel offers a wonderful home base for your Tokyo adventure with easy access to the city through the Ueno station. The staff goes out of their way to make you feel welcome and attended to, and the room was comfortable and well-equipped.

I loved everything about this hotel. It was clean, well-kept, and I loved the layout of the room. I loved how the shower, sink, and toilet were all separate. The bunk beds were perfect for the kids with their own reading light and charging ports. The room was spacious and had blackout curtains. We loved the nearness of the Ueno Station and the quiet neighborhood. We would choose to stay here next time in Tokyo and recommend it to anyone. The only thing that would be helpful is if the hotel offered breakfast. It was a little hard to find food in the morning. Overall, loved this hotel and would stay again.

Friendly staff. Convenient location. Very quiet. Nice room, mattress super comfortable. Stayed at train view room, can watch train while having coffee 😄 would love to stay here again if I come back to the area in the future.

Mimaru Tokyo Ueno North We stayed here for four nights as a family of four and appreciated how convenient it was to get to — easy airport access via the Skyliner and just a short walk to the nearest train station for exploring other parts of Tokyo. The hotel is in an older part of town, close to Ueno Park and Zoo, and about a 30-minute walk to Asakusa and Senso-ji Temple. The staff were great — friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The room size worked well for our family, and the bunk bed setup was perfect for the kids. However, there were a few downsides. The room didn’t have access to fresh air since the windows don’t open, and there was a light lingering sewer smell. It was generally clean, but compared to other Mimaru hotels we’ve stayed at, this one didn’t quite measure up. Overall, a convenient and family-friendly option for exploring Tokyo, though there’s room for improvement.

Excellent property that’s close enough to Ueno station entrances (7 min walk) and area eating and shopping (10 - 12min walk). Because it’s on the north end of Ueno Station, it’s a little quieter which can be a nice reprieve from the busyness of the core. I booked the standard family room which was a solid size for a family of 4 (two kids under 10). Staff was great and rooms kept really clean. Coin op laundry was easy to use. Only minor complaint would be that the wifi was slow, compared to North American standards, but it seems like this is more of a Japan thing than an individual hotel issue as every place I stayed seemed to have slow internet speeds.

Staff was very helpful, friendly and professional. Room condition was great, with modern appliances and with plenty room for a family of 4. Loved the kitchen, we cooked breakfast a few times and gave us an option to save and enjoy American breakfast with groceries purchased from local mini mart. First time staying at an apartment hotel and definitely Mimaru exceeded our expectations, and had a big part of us enjoying our Tokyo vacation!

Brilliant modern room that was spacious for 2 adults and 3 children. Hotel was walking distance to Ueno train station, great local food spots, shopping etc. If you like walking, Asakusa is only a 20minute walk along one road. Uneo station is a hub so it's a quick train trip to anywhere in Tokyo. The English speaking hotel staff provide great local expert knowledge regarding sights, food, karaoke, transport. Lots to do and explore in Ueno. Loved this place!

Great stay. Great property and great staff. The room was spacious, clean, and perfect for our larger family. There are 5 of us, so the kids had bunk beds, wife and I had two twins put together for us with the baby. Ample space for eating which was perfect for take out brought back to the room. Great shower and tub with toilet separate. The kitchen was great including the larger fridge that was so much more helpful than the tiny ones you normally get in hotel rooms. The laundry facility was great. Coin operated, normally I don't do laundry but it was raining so it was so helpful to have. The staff was amazing. They were able to help with directions, scheduling taxi, and most importantly help us in a bind. We forgot a package all the way back in Harajuku. I asked if they were able to help call the store to see if it was there. They were able to do so given the language barrier. Unfortunately the store was unable to ship it to us, but we were able to get back there to pick it up. Lastly, they were able to accommodate a late checkout for a nominal fee. Recommend this place for all families, larger parties, those wanting a larger than normal room in Japan. Oh and also it's only about a 5 minute walk to Ueno station

This is the second Mimaru we have stayed in and, like the other, it did not disappoint. Clean, friendly staff, close to the train and within walking distance of the main shopping and food streets in Ueno, laundry facilities on site (3 washing machines and 3 dryers), close to Lawson and Family Mart, close to the station for the Shinkansen and also for the metro and overall a great family experience!

Really enjoyed our stay at Mimaru Tokyo Ueno North. This was our second stay with the Mimaru brand, and will definitely recommend people with family or big groups to choose Mimaru Hotel Apts. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed having a kitchenette and dining table!

The property is very well kept and maintained with an attentive, happy, and genuinely friendly staff. The room was great for our family - four of us got to make this trip together. Location Notes: We chose the Ueno area because of the beautiful park and because there isn't much of a nightlife scene making for a quieter evening. The hotel and area lived up to those expectations. One thing we didn't really grasp from the map is that the hotel is a bit further walk from the Ueno Train Station than appeared. One of the big draws for this hotel is the proximity to the Ueno Station which gives you excellent access to the rest of Tokyo (especially via the JR Yamonote train line which is a loop around most of the hotspots a visitor/tourist will want to visit during their stay). However, it was a bit of a longer walk from the station to the hotel than looked on the map. It's not a terribly long walk, but we were walking about 10 miles a day so were feeling every step by the end of the day. The big tip is to use the station's Iriya gate which is the northernmost gate of the station with both up and down escalators. Once we discovered that gate it really shortened the walk to the station. Conclusion: The Mimaru Tokyo Ueno North hotel offers a wonderful home base for your Tokyo adventure with easy access to the city through the Ueno station. The staff goes out of their way to make you feel welcome and attended to, and the room was comfortable and well-equipped.

Our family of three recently stayed at Mimaru Ueno North for seven nights and it was a very pleasant experience. The hotel offers a comfortable atmosphere and is conveniently located near Ueno Station, with easy access to nearby attractions and public transport. Reception staff were friendly, helpful, and efficient. Our room was impeccably clean and spacious. Beds were comfortable with just the right firmness. After a day of sightseeing and long walks, it was good to retire for the night in a quiet area and hotel. Overall, we had a great stay at Mimaru Ueno North.

The staff were super friendly and the hotel was pretty nice. The room size was good for Tokyo and it even had a small kitchenette and a dining table. It was not too far from Ueno station for metro and Shinkansen trains. There are a stack of dining and shopping options within a 15 min walk radius.

I booked the standard family room which was a solid size for a family of 4 (two kids under 10). Staff was great and rooms kept really clean. Coin op laundry was easy to use. Only minor complaint would be that the wifi was slow, compared to North American standards, but it seems like this is more of a Japan thing than an individual hotel issue as every place I stayed seemed to have slow internet speeds.

I loved everything about this hotel. It was clean, well-kept, and I loved the layout of the room. I loved how the shower, sink, and toilet were all separate. The bunk beds were perfect for the kids with their own reading light and charging ports. The room was spacious and had blackout curtains. We loved the nearness of the Ueno Station and the quiet neighborhood. We would choose to stay here next time in Tokyo and recommend it to anyone. The only thing that would be helpful is if the hotel offered breakfast. It was a little hard to find food in the morning. Overall, loved this hotel and would stay again.

Brilliant modern room that was spacious for 2 adults and 3 children. Hotel was walking distance to Ueno train station, great local food spots, shopping etc. If you like walking, Asakusa is only a 20minute walk along one road. Uneo station is a hub so it's a quick train trip to anywhere in Tokyo. The English speaking hotel staff provide great local expert knowledge regarding sights, food, karaoke, transport. Lots to do and explore in Ueno. Loved this place!

Wonderful Stay for a Family of Five! We absolutely loved our stay at MIMARU Tokyo Ueno North! We have now stayed there twice, and both experiences were wonderful. The apartment-style room was exceptionally clean, spacious, and comfortable, with plenty of room for our family. We had four regular beds plus two bunk-style beds, so there was sleeping space for everyone. The room also had a real dining area with a table, which made it feel more like a home than a hotel room. Having a kitchen with a stovetop, refrigerator, microwave, and dishes was a big plus for breakfast, snacks, and drinks. We also had a beautiful view of the trains, but the room was surprisingly quiet. The location was very convenient, with the subway/train station just a short walk away and lots of shopping, restaurants, and dining options nearby. The laundry facilities were another big plus, especially during a longer trip. The staff were wonderful—very friendly, helpful, and especially accommodating with our luggage and transportation questions. After staying here twice, we can honestly say we would definitely come back again. It is clean, spacious, comfortable, quiet, and a perfect choice for families visiting Tokyo!

We had a wonderful stay at MIMARU Tokyo Ueno North! Our family room with a kitchen was spacious, comfortable, and spotlessly clean—perfect for a family stay. The location is excellent, just a short walk from the subway and convenient for exploring Tokyo. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helped us with the luggage. They made everything so smooth and easy from the moment we arrived, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We highly recommend MIMARU Tokyo Ueno North and, in fact, we’ve already come back for another stay! 😉
