Acco Luxury Apartments

Liked the location - perfect for walking around. Didn’t like staying on the fourth floor with a wife that has arthritis on the knee and no elevator.

We loved this place! I admit, we had some trouble with the parking, but only because we were tired and didn't take the time to really look at the parking information. If you do that prior to arriving, it will make things so very easy. We ended up parking very close and easily gained entry to this beautiful apartment. It had far more room than we needed, including a generously sized bathroom. The apartment has everything you need for a perfect stay. We enjoyed spreading out in the two large bedrooms. There was also plenty of room to hang out and play games. The surrounding area is completely walkable with plenty of places to eat, drink and shop. We ate dinner at one of the recommended restaurants that overlooked the harbor and then had drinks at the backpacker place. It was a great stay and wished we would have had more time.

Clean, large apartment, well appointed and well located. There is no lift and we were on the 4th floor, so not good for us oldies. Very noisy, however it was the locals enjoying themselves rather then anything to do with the apartment.

I loved the apartment itself and the location. However a four floor walk up, no elevator, was tough at my age.

Apartment conditions ok. Quiet during the day. Not many people walk around. BUT, extremely noisy at night. Cars horned at 1:44am. Loud music played at midnight until early morning. People shouting and talked loud on street. 4 flights of stairs without elevator. It’s a nightmare for travellers with heavy luggage.

Great location in Akureyri. Easy walking distance to restaurants and the harbor. On Wednesday nights in the summer there is a classic car show within a couple of blocks. Modern decor. Love the convenience of having the washer and dryer in the unit. Only drawback was having to walk up to the 4th floor.

Decent apartment but certainly not luxury. No soap for shower and no soap holder or any place to put the soap once we bought it from a store. Very noisy location. The worst part is that we were on the 4th floor and no one told us there is no elevator. We are senior citizens and it was difficult to lug large suitcases to our room.

No elevator. Super inconvenient to take luggage up on 2nd or 3rd floor. Broken locks Too noisy Hot, no temp control

Disgusting property. Have to climb 8 flights of stairs to access unit, not possible with any mobility issues, not to mention not ideal with suitcases. Beer bottles outside the door, dirty towels in the bathroom, the patio door lock was busted and door was wide open. Not safe to sleep in Tried to talk to lady answering the phone but she was rude and not helpful. Explained that the stairs were a problem due to mobility issues and she said “so what”… literally. Getting to the unit looks like scenes from a horror movie. DO NOT STAY HERE!

The apartment was extremely comfortable. It had everything we needed for our stay. The shower could have been a little cleaner and it drained a little slow. Our biggest issue was the noise. As others have stated the bar downstairs and birds are incredibly loud. Even with earplugs, the bass from the music at the bar was detectible in our unit on the 3rd floor. The back of the unit overlooks a shared area where the kegs and 8 dumpsters attracts a flock of seagulls. There really isn't anything the managers could do to improve either. Our stay was a Friday-Monday and the bar noise was worse on Friday and Saturday, but the birds were only quiet for about 2 hours per night (when it was dark). If you are unfamiliar with the sound of screeching seagulls, they were like a loud, obnoxious alarm that you have no control over.

It was a very comfortable and clean setup which was really appreciated. It was great that it had a functioning kitchen, large clean bathroom, and a washer and dryer. Beds were warm and comfortable and clean, and it was restful to have a spacious living space to feel at home in. The only thing I wish to give constructive feedback about is that perhaps the property could provide kitchen towels or cleaning equipment so that we can better clean up the kitchen after we cook? There were no cleaning linens and very little amount of kitchen paper towels. Overall , one of the better quality stays we had in Iceland! Thank you

Extremely clean, modern, beautiful apartment near everything! Five stars for this place!

Unfortunately the apartment we were allocated is directly above a fast food restaurant that is open into the early hours and the customers are very noisy both inside and outside so we got very little sleep. There was also a group of 4 families who were staying above and opposite our apartment whom were extremely noisy with their doors all propped open so all the children could play in the corridor and constantly going up and down the stairs. They did approach us and say to let them know if it was too much noise but they should have been more respectful. Onto the apartment, this is not luxury, the beds are extremely uncomfortable and we woke with back ache and neck ache every morning. The sofa bed in the lounge is very uncomfortable to sit on. The bathroom had a shower curtain which was quite tatty. The bathroom is very basic, certainly not luxury. The floors were not very clean as could be seen by the state of our socks. The location is central but its a good 20 to 30 minute walk to the nearest supermarket. We were there over the New Year period and most of the cafes, restaurants and the bakery were all closed, cafe Berlin where we planned to have breakfast each day was closed the entire period and the Backpackers cafe does not start serving food until 11:30am. The apartment is very close to the Town Square so also lots of noise in the early hours of the morning from groups of teenagers every night. Unfortunately we did not enjoy our stay here with our little boy.

The apartment itself is awesome !!! It was so clean and modern and we really enjoyed it. The only negative was there was a lot of street noise as it was a weekend night and there are bars and cafes downstairs . Despite that, I give it a thumbs up and would stay again.

The pictures online about the apartment are misleading.. sewer smell in bathroom, shower curtain was stinky.. they use the term luxury very lightly... great location and proximity to dining and shopping... this also made it noisy till late..

Lindo apartamento bem no centro da cidade. Novo, bem equipado, bem decorado, muito confortável.

Very spacious accommodation, will definitely stay again

Great apartment right in the heart of the town. Bar just downstairs. Kebab shop just downstairs. Apartment is large and spacious. Beautiful view. Has a balcony. Washer and dryer. Great place!

No required amenities like shower gel, shampoo, conditioner. No kitchen towels,strainer,spatula,scrapper. No proper kitchen amenities. Not a luxury apartment since basic required items not present. No parking for apartment. Noisy in the night due to bird sound.

Property is very nice. Great accommodations and location. There is a washer in the unit but no dryer. No shampoo/conditioner. Nice closet with a mirror allows space to get ready since one bathroom. Major complaint with a 5 pm check-in time and 10 am check-out time. Unacceptable.

Bad customer service from Acco Staff, literally forced to check out at 1am (Even though 11am checkout is standard). Broken door lock for bathroom on one of the apartments I rented.

We were in a jam to meet a cruise ship after delayed flights, and these folks were super nice! Very helpful, clean, and very convenient. Would highly recommend the Acco Apartments!

The apartment was very nice, very well located, easy access and was close to some good eating places.

The only reason for a 4 star rating vs. a 5 is, the city is noisy and made it difficult to fall asleep. If the windows were noise canceling, would have been a 5 for sure.
