Staying within the palace walls in Split is the only way to go. Although not handicap accessible, this place was great for us. Split is a gem and it will change your perspective on the world… must go!

If you have no problems with climbing stairs, this place is perfect. It's walkable to plenty of tourist attractions, restaurants, and shopping. There's no reception lobby, so you will need to text or call the host ahead of time and when you get there. We stayed in the family room and it was clean, spacious, and had plenty of amenities. The twin beds in the attic-like space are probably best for kids or small adults though. Otherwise, we had a wonderful stay here in Split.

If you have no problems with climbing stairs, this place is perfect. It's walkable to plenty of tourist attractions, restaurants, and shopping. There's no reception lobby, so you will need to text or call the host ahead of time and when you get there. We stayed in the family room and it was clean, spacious, and had plenty of amenities. The twin beds in the attic-like space are probably best for kids or small adults though. Otherwise, we had a wonderful stay here in Split.

We were between four and seven minutes for all of our tour meeting spots. Yes, the three flights of stairs are rough when you’re tired after a long day, but the location makes those steps worthwhile. There are a few things we would have liked. I wish there was a fridge and not just a mini bar as well as a microwave. We threw out a LOT of food this vacation. I also wish there was a tissue box instead of just toilet paper. The toilet paper was pretty rough. Also, the bed wasn’t as comfortable as I would have liked, but I’m used to a memory foam mattress at home. The air conditioning was awesome though. Overall, we enjoyed our stay even with the missing amenities and the stairs.

Great room and location.. not really a hotel more of an apartment. The only big issue is there is a massive amount of steps to get up to the place and inside.. this should be noted on the booking advertisement because a lot of people would struggle with this..

Très belle chambre dans une maison de charme et d’époque. Accueil chaleureux. Situation exceptionnelle seul bémol pas très bien indiqué pour s’y rendre et beaucoup d’escaliers à grimper.

It is in a perfect location right in the centre of Diocletian’s Palace and a beautiful and atmospheric room. It is not the easiest to find and to check-in but worth it when there !

This is more like a studio apartment in a third floor walk up. This location is ideally centered right by the castle with myriad restaurants in all directions. The owner was very helpful and had a modestly charged paid parking lot off site. (There is only paid parking in city center Split.) The unit doesn’t have any USB ports, so bring your converters. It was very quiet and clean.

A truly fun and unique space with plenty of room. Parking and lugging suitcases was difficult (thru palace grounds and up 3 flights of stairs) but they provided as much support as needed. Wish we stayed longer - a great location for enjoying the heart of the palace area. Staff was super helpful even when we forgot to phone ahead. Loved the decor and appreciated the air conditioning. If you want a memorable experience- this is the place!

PROS- Great staff. Ana, Meji, and Mariana. Meji is always there to help you meet your needs. CONS- Extremely small rooms. Not a chair nor a couch to relax on. Except for the bed and a very small and uncomfortable desk/chair. Very suffocating. Smells like sewer REAL BAD. SO BAD that I had to move to another property. Property is on 3rd floor, and A LOT OF STAIRS to get up to the room!

We really loved our stay at this property, its in such a fantastic location as everything is within walking distance. It was really easy to book tours as it was so close to the pier where all the meeting points are. Its also in the historical old town so its great to be able to say we stayed within the walls of the old palace. The room was clean and the staff were very accommodating. I would say the only feedback would be the breakfast offered at the restaurant is a bit lacking in options. It is still worth booking in the area and this room in particular as its just within the heart of Split which is very busy but the room is quiet, clean and comfortable. Thanks again!

The room was immaculate. We were happy they sent someone to help us with our luggage. We suggest you use Google maps to find them because you cannget lost. Oir only suggestion is that they need an additional sensor to turn on the entryway light in the stairs. It doesn’t turn on until more than half way up the 1st set of stairs. Otherwise we definitely plan on staying here again. It really is in the middle of everything.

We had someone meet us right at the entrance to get us all checked in. The room was comfortable other than the bathroom always had an off smell... maybe something coming from the drains? They answered any messages very promptly and made sure we had what we needed.

Gothic Palace is inside Diocletian’s Palace which is free and open to the public. It’s easily walkable, directly near historical sites and close to shopping and eating. The actual room was so unique. It was gorgeous, looked like an actual castle! Loved our stay. Clean, comfortable, quiet !

This was right in the center of the old castle and was so convenient and walkable to everything, including the bus and train station. The host were amazing and the maids were super pleasant and very helpful. We love this place. It was super clean and the design of the rooms were comfortable and had a lot of space. The workmanship in the bathroom was impeccable. It is a bit hard to find because it’s sitting right above a restaurant so just go to the restaurant and look to the right You will see stairs against the wall take those set of stairs turn to your left and then go through another door up another set of stairs to the third floor. Check breeze responses were super quick When we needed something. They even suggested a places to dine that weren’t in the tourist sections that ended up being tasty and reasonable. Some reviews were negative because of the scares, but we didn’t mind them at all It was worth it to stay here!! Cleanliness was off the charts as well

A little tricky to find initially, but they were very helpful and got to us quickly when I called. It a very clean and tidy space with a quirky room in the loft. Extremely central in Split so it's easy to get around and see the old town. The breakfast was out of the building across the square to the Luxor. It was ok but not anything special.

Room was excellent. Comfy and spacious. Location is beautiful and great for doing old town Split. Not obvious where it is as a newcomer, but locals and reception got me sorted easily. Lots of stairs up to the room, so that is something to be mindful of if that is a concern. Foot traffic out front/lines to the restaurant below can be a bit intense at some hours of the day, but this is a small bother.

Comfortable room close to all the action and sights in Split. Nice restaurant on the ground floor was good, but not so good with the noises later at night. Part of being in old town.

We really enjoyed staying at the Gothic Palace Heritage. The room was very comfortable and quiet despite being located in a very touristy location. Staff was extremely kind. Highly recommend it!

We had someone meet us right at the entrance to get us all checked in. The room was comfortable other than the bathroom always had an off smell... maybe something coming from the drains? They answered any messages very promptly and made sure we had what we needed.

We really enjoyed staying at the Gothic Palace Heritage. The room was very comfortable and quiet despite being located in a very touristy location. Staff was extremely kind. Highly recommend it!

This was right in the center of the old castle and was so convenient and walkable to everything, including the bus and train station. The host were amazing and the maids were super pleasant and very helpful. We love this place. It was super clean and the design of the rooms were comfortable and had a lot of space. The workmanship in the bathroom was impeccable. It is a bit hard to find because it’s sitting right above a restaurant so just go to the restaurant and look to the right You will see stairs against the wall take those set of stairs turn to your left and then go through another door up another set of stairs to the third floor. Check breeze responses were super quick When we needed something. They even suggested a places to dine that weren’t in the tourist sections that ended up being tasty and reasonable. Some reviews were negative because of the scares, but we didn’t mind them at all It was worth it to stay here!! Cleanliness was off the charts as well

A little tricky to find initially, but they were very helpful and got to us quickly when I called. It a very clean and tidy space with a quirky room in the loft. Extremely central in Split so it's easy to get around and see the old town. The breakfast was out of the building across the square to the Luxor. It was ok but not anything special.

A truly fun and unique space with plenty of room. Parking and lugging suitcases was difficult (thru palace grounds and up 3 flights of stairs) but they provided as much support as needed. Wish we stayed longer - a great location for enjoying the heart of the palace area. Staff was super helpful even when we forgot to phone ahead. Loved the decor and appreciated the air conditioning. If you want a memorable experience- this is the place!

If you have no problems with climbing stairs, this place is perfect. It's walkable to plenty of tourist attractions, restaurants, and shopping. There's no reception lobby, so you will need to text or call the host ahead of time and when you get there. We stayed in the family room and it was clean, spacious, and had plenty of amenities. The twin beds in the attic-like space are probably best for kids or small adults though. Otherwise, we had a wonderful stay here in Split.

This place was simply gorgeous! It's right in the center of Old Town and is so perfectly located by all of the attractions. Very close to the shore, while still being nestled in with the Old Town excitement. Plenty of shops and museums and restaurants to enjoy and the view from the room was absolutely unbeatable. Would highly recommend!

The hotel is in the perfect location in Old Split. Very walkable to the Riva and the different sightseeing options in and around old Split. The hotel is also equally close to all the tourist and local restaurants. Also very close to the ferry terminals to go to the other islands and the bus terminals.

Gothic Palace is inside Diocletian’s Palace which is free and open to the public. It’s easily walkable, directly near historical sites and close to shopping and eating. The actual room was so unique. It was gorgeous, looked like an actual castle! Loved our stay. Clean, comfortable, quiet !

The hotel is in a superb location in the center of the old town. We parked the car at their off site parking which is about 8mins away. The room was very nice and also quiet although its in a noisy area. We really enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend it.

We really loved our stay at this property, its in such a fantastic location as everything is within walking distance. It was really easy to book tours as it was so close to the pier where all the meeting points are. Its also in the historical old town so its great to be able to say we stayed within the walls of the old palace. The room was clean and the staff were very accommodating. I would say the only feedback would be the breakfast offered at the restaurant is a bit lacking in options. It is still worth booking in the area and this room in particular as its just within the heart of Split which is very busy but the room is quiet, clean and comfortable. Thanks again!

Perfect location in the palace grounds for restaurants anywhere in Old Town. The restaurant for breakfast a few steps away was excellent...again amazing service there as well. I highly recommend the Gothic Palace would stay there again.

Beautiful quiet rooms with views of ancient buildings. The best part was how friendly, helpful, and professional the staff was. They have a great car service to the airport that you can prearrange and the driver comes to your room to help with the bags.

This hotel is in the center of the old town on the top story of a very old building with a restaurant on the ground floor. The room was amazingly quiet considering the location and we were thankful for the air conditioning considering how hot it was. Our room was small but adequate and bathroom was fine. The stairs are quite steep, dark and there are four flights to get up. If you are in good shape, this is no problem but if you are older or have any walking issues this is not the place for you. Our host did help us up the stairs with our luggage and true to his word showed up early in the morning to help us get our bags out when we were leaving. Breakfast was with a voucher at a nearby restaurant and totally adequate. If you want to stay in the middle of old town Split and have the stamina for the climb, this is a reasonable choice.

Very nice space in the heart of Split. Excellent communication by property managers and one of their staff literally ran to meet us to get us into the apartment and show us around. Space was clean, spacious and had a good air conditioning unit.
