The Torfin was clean and in a great area. It was very convenient to the airport and a short bus ride away from the city. There are great dining options near and a restaurant attached. The staff was so friendly and allowed us to store our bags in the morning because we arrived into the city early as well as helped us navigate public transportation!

Rooms are up steep stairs in back of property. Parking is one hotel down behind Toby's next door to Torfin. Room had everything we needed but a fan and tissues. Jenna was extremely helpful.

Our room at The Torfin was clean and newly renovated. The decor was lovely and the rain shower was a highlight. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and it was lovely to have delicious food right at our hotel. There is a very small spot to park, so if you need to park a car it can be difficult. Please be aware that the entrance to the hotel is outside and up a flight of stairs so it can be hard to navigate with large bags in the rain. The bed was nice and big but the mattress seemed old and saggy for such a new setting. I would stay here again but maybe not for more than a night or two.

We chose this hotel because of its proximity to the airport. Our experience was disappointing. When we got there, the restaurant was closed and that is where you check in to the hotel. It was raining and we had to walk around the property and stand outside trying to figure out how to check in. We ended up having to scream through a window until somebody heard us. The person that finally opened the door and checked us in was apologetic and very nice. The rooms are in the back of the restaurant and there is no lift, which is inconvenient when you have a lot of luggage. The rooms were small but comfortable. The location is only 10 minutes from the airport. So that is convenient. We did not eat there so we cannot comment on the food, which is supposed to be very good. I think the experience would have been better if they would have explained the check in process ahead of time.

While it was on a busy street and difficult to find where to park, the manager was amazing and helped us with our suitcases. The rooms are located above the restaurant and there is no elevator but it was only one flight of stairs. The room and bathroom were very clean and comfortable. There is no A/C so it was a little hot because we couldn't open the window.

Nice room not much else. Quite pricey for what it is. A little out of town but frequent buses. Staff friendly but not always on hand when you need them as they are working in the bar.

Cute mini hotel above a great pub! Decent access to the airport, and city transportation that goes right to city centre. Staff were great! It is a bit loud later at night, you can hear music from the pub. Otherwise, really great spot! I’d stay here again.

Lovely stay, great venue. Rooms are very nicely decorated and a good size for a city hotel. Good amenities: a kettle for tea and coffee, biscuits in the room as well as an ironing board and hair drier. Pub downstairs did great food and there’s a little supermarket just across the street. Check in was very easy. Bus to the city centre took just 15 mins and then to the airport just 10.

Very nice, comfortable, and clean. Rooms located above the pub. Only issue was the room entrance was outside and required climbing several stairs. Persons with limited mobility would find it challenging.

Emma was our host to check in, and our waitress in the restaurant. A lovely young woman, very polite and helpful. The room was very clean and decent size. Hotel right on main road from Airport to Downtown making it very convenient to access and then go a bus into town. Restaurant for was decent and a good value. Met the owner when we checked out, and kind man with travel tips for our next destination. We'd certainly stay again if coming back to Edinburgh.

Our room at the Torfin was comfortable for our 1-night stay. Bed was comfortable and the shower was great. It was quiet as well for a good night sleep, though I note the restaurant was closed the evening we stayed. We did however have some minor issues with cleanliness with small noticeable stains on the sheets and sticky dirty floors that we weren’t happy with.

Le camere sono moderne, confortevoli e in genere piccole. Alcuni ospiti hanno avvertito un po' di caldo a causa dell'assenza di A/C e del rumore del traffico quando aprono le finestre, mentre docce e arredamento ricevono complimenti; occasionalmente si riscontrano problemi relativi al comfort del materasso o del cuscino e alla mancanza di qualche piccolo extra.

The people were great but I would hardly call this a hotel. The rooms were tiny and nothing like the photos on the web. There was no lobby and you entered the room from an outside concrete stairway. I would call it a couple of rooms above a bar rather than a hotel. There wasn’t even a chair to sit on in the room.

We flew in for a wedding in the West End of the city. The Torfin was perfectly placed between the airport and the venue. The rooms are small but beautifully decorated with a comfortable king bed. Even though we had a road side room, we were not aware of any excessive noise. The rooms are accessed outside of the pub which we saw as a positive as you don't need to go through a pub to get back. There is a bus stop to the city centre right outside. The 26 gets you there in 10 minutes and runs around every 10 minutes. From there when we left it was £10 in an Uber to get to our car hire place so we could get to our next destination.

Rooms were great. Staff were great. Pub/restaurant downstairs was great. Food was tasty. Only issue is that the room was quite warm. It was a battle between a hot room (can’t sleep) and road noise with the window open (can’t sleep).

Wanted convenient hotel..not in the heart of the city and not at the airport.. with restaurant to spend our last 2 days in Scotland. Room was well appointed…large rain shower. Restaurant and bar were busy with locals…great food, service, selection at reasonable prices. Thanks to Mike for a warm welcome and help in getting around

They were very accommodating and could see how tired I was and the nice young man from behind the bar carried my bag for me up to the room. The room was amazing. It was beautifully clean and they really thought of everything. I had team and a hot shower before bed and after going down for an amazing burger and a pint. The atmosphere and decor was so well done and comforting.

An overnight stay for an early morning check in at Edinburgh Airport with airport bus stop a 5 minute walk away. Staff very nice. Had an issue with bathroom door but taken on board by staff and rectified very quickly. Would stay again.

The staff is amazing and helpful. The location is outstanding, near transportation, with great walkability. There is also amazing food and drink options. Highly recommended for anything from a coffee, a meal, or an overnight stay - or all of the above!

The Torfin was clean and in a great area. It was very convenient to the airport and a short bus ride away from the city. There are great dining options near and a restaurant attached. The staff was so friendly and allowed us to store our bags in the morning because we arrived into the city early as well as helped us navigate public transportation!

Perfect spot for our last night in Scotland. Small hotel above a great local restaurant/pub. Room was clean and comfortable and the staff very helpful before and during our stay. Friendly staff at the pub, too. Primary reason for booking this location was easy access to the airport for an early morning flight and so for that reason: mission accomplished. Easy access from Haymarket Station when arriving and 10-minute morning cab ride to the airport.

Emma was our host to check in, and our waitress in the restaurant. A lovely young woman, very polite and helpful. The room was very clean and decent size. Hotel right on main road from Airport to Downtown making it very convenient to access and then go a bus into town. Restaurant for was decent and a good value. Met the owner when we checked out, and kind man with travel tips for our next destination. We'd certainly stay again if coming back to Edinburgh.

It was a great one-night stay and accessible to public transportation and less than 15mins. drive to the airport and downtown. The staff were wonderful and friendly. The area was clean and safe. I would definitely recommend this to my family and friends.

Very clean and lovely. Food was fantastic. A bit further out than I thought. About 20 minutes from city center but Uber was easy. The room was right on a main road and a bit noisy Owner a delight. I would highly recommend

Set on a main road to downtown Edinburgh, it is very convenient for catching the bus to town center or to the airport. Lots of restaurant options. Friendly and helpful staff.

Beautiful setting and friendly staff. We didn’t try the food but it looked delicious. Direct route on the bus into town center, very handy - would be a great place to stay for any rugby at Murryfield (just down the road a short trip on the local bus)

Lovely stay, great venue. Rooms are very nicely decorated and a good size for a city hotel. Good amenities: a kettle for tea and coffee, biscuits in the room as well as an ironing board and hair drier. Pub downstairs did great food and there’s a little supermarket just across the street. Check in was very easy. Bus to the city centre took just 15 mins and then to the airport just 10.

They were very accommodating and could see how tired I was and the nice young man from behind the bar carried my bag for me up to the room. The room was amazing. It was beautifully clean and they really thought of everything. I had team and a hot shower before bed and after going down for an amazing burger and a pint. The atmosphere and decor was so well done and comforting.

Rooms were great. Staff were great. Pub/restaurant downstairs was great. Food was tasty. Only issue is that the room was quite warm. It was a battle between a hot room (can’t sleep) and road noise with the window open (can’t sleep).

Wanted convenient hotel..not in the heart of the city and not at the airport.. with restaurant to spend our last 2 days in Scotland. Room was well appointed…large rain shower. Restaurant and bar were busy with locals…great food, service, selection at reasonable prices. Thanks to Mike for a warm welcome and help in getting around

Our room was very small with little room to move around the far side of the bed. This was the deluxe room. However, it was beautifully decorated and the bathroom was excellent. For us, it was not only the size of the room but also accessing it, that were problems. It isn't really a hotel, it is 4 rooms at the back of and over a bar/restaurant accessed only from the outside via very steep steeps with a tiny landing at the top meaning if you have luggage, you have to open the door carefully. The staff were brilliant and the restaurant reasonably priced.. There was no breakfast but lovely hot rolls and coffee served available from 10.00am. Not well situated for buses to the airport - quite a walk to the right bus stop with bags.

10/10 We only spent one night here, but definitely will come back. The staff was very kind and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable. The bed was really good and you don’t have to drive to somewhere else for lunch or diner. They serve very delicious food at the restaurant. A bus stop to the city centre is close by and also a bus stop for the Airlink- buses from and to the airport is just 5 minutes to walk. We definitely recommend “the torfin”.

Hard with two people and two carry-ons and two personal items, there wasn't room to put anything. But we only stayed for a very short amount of time (technically only 5-6 hours) so it was doable. Conveniently located between airport and city center, plenty of restaurants around. Need to take the bus to the city center or Uber.
