Easy to get to the pier and beach. Parking cost $25.00 :( but there was plenty of it. The roof bar was nice and relaxing.

Easy access to parking, beach, and all pier adjacent activities. We were there for Coldplay, had enough time to enjoy rooftop bar, surf, good eats and amazing views! 10/10 recommendation! Cheers.

Fantastic couple of nights stay. The hotel has been skillfully designed and has that home away from home feel. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful - nothing seems too much trouble. Be prepared to pay top dollar for cocktails, when combined with the views from the rooftop terrace (for hotel guests only), worth it. Only downside was the noise from the PCH (right in front of the property) but there isn't much the hotel can do about that!

What a surprise this hotel was. Such a gem in Maibu .they give you a super cool car/ surf boards / wet suits . Staff were amazing - so friendly but not over the top so you feel like you’re staying in your own little place. Amazing attention to detail. Coifee brought to your room in the morning. Beautiful roof terrace with an amazing vibe and view. Would love to come back amd surf for a week!

This was the cutest boutique hotel. It was very clean, very comfortable with many personal touches. They were the nicest hosts and I would tell anyone who is coming to Malibu to stay here. We absolutely fell in love with the kind hosts, the cute decorations, the personal note and water, and all the amenities! Such a gem of a place! And it’s across the street from the Pier and direct access to the beach!

First the good: The staff was very friendly and attentive. The view of the ocean and pier was great. The room was clean and simple. It had a great 'beachy' vibe the fit the venue perfectly. The roof top area was a nice place to relax and have a drink. Plenty of things to do in the area. The not so great: The room was not ready at check in and we had to wait almost an hour. The view of the ocean is obstructed by the bushes growing in front of the hotel. The bottle brush needs to be trimmed level with the railing. There were a lot of ants in the room and on the balcony. The bushes are growing against the hotel and thats why the ants are getting in the rooms. The bushes should be trimmed away from the hotel. The water was shut off briefly, but it was not a big deal. The rooms are missing some basic things you may be used to, microwave, iron, closet, trash can (other than the bathroom), coffee pot (you can get coffee or tea delivered), etc. These are very minor issues and they did not spoil our stay, its still an amazing hotel.

Had a lovely stay with great staff and got a free upgrade without asking for one. Beautiful room and view. The only issue was there was a bit of an ant infestation in the room and certain key. Things were damaged like broken hammock on the balcony, broken bottle cap in the bottle of water in the room so that it was difficult to open. And ripped robe. Outside of these little things it would’ve been perfect.

Awesome location, proximity to Malibu Beaches. Unique, with great subtle touches. Way nicer than your average cookie cutter hotel. We will definitely go back. Only minus was view from first floor rooms is a hedge.

The room is very small with little to no amenities. The room did not have a view, very poor internet connection and cell phone service. The room was very dungeon like and not what I expected. There was no closet just a simple area over the refrigerator with small spot to hang clothes.

Had a great time! Only downside was our room being under the rooftop bar in the morning. Their prep for the day began at 6:30 am which was a bit early for us. Overall a great stay though

The room was very cute and peaceful. I loved the hammock and the rooftop area. The views are so pretty of the ocean and the staff was very friendly. It’s a small hotel which made it more personal, there was a little note with my name on it when I arrived to the room. I’d stay here again if I ever go back to Malibu.

Surfrider is a quaint, boutique hotel in beautiful Malibu. We stayed here while visiting Pepperdine University nearby and had a wonderful experience. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the beach house vibe was exactly as advertised. My only feedback to keep in mind for future guests is that it is not quiet (PCH is very noisy) and it is VERY difficult to get a ride-share (Uber or Lyft). If you have to get somewhere on time, just take into account that an Uber may take a long time and there's no guarantee that there will be one at all. Will definitely be back!!

No hot water to take a shower. Luke warm at best. No answer at desk to address. No cofee maker or coffe available on property that we could find. Ocean view was blocked completely by bushes. All you can hear are the cars not waves. Bed is bad design kept hitting legs on boards that stick out. Chairs on porch are hard asa a rock. No cushions. By far the worts hotel on thus trip

Paid nearly $1000 for a night as they nearly doubled prices over the holidays. We got a lot more value for money at the hotels in e.g. Hollywood. The location by the beach is great. We had a downstairs room with no view of the beach and in hindsight should have forked out additional for room with view. Some of the staff were very disinterested😕. There is no coffee making facilities in the room and they forgot to deliver our complimentary morning coffee which wasnt a biggie - nor did it seem to be for them. We found the food average with about an hours wait between courses. If we stayed again we would flag the onsite food and dine at the pier restaurant across the road. The food there was excellent. Overall a pretty avg stay in what could be a much better hotel experience.
The location by the beach is great. We had a downstairs room with no view of the beach and in hindsight should have forked out additional for room with view. Overall a pretty avg stay in what could be a much better hotel experience.

Kate at the front desk was great! I arrived a bit early and she escorted me to the rooftop for a nice drink. Kates replacement at the front desk was also great, as I had left a wedding envelope with a cash gift in my Alto lift to Dukes. She contacted the Alto driver and when I returned from the wedding later that evening, there was my wedding gift in my room. If I could give both of them 10 stars I surely would have!!

No beach view. Porch completely covered by bushes and vines. Nothing to see. Right next to parking lot. Very noisey since next to highway. Service horroble. At the restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Never provided a napkin. Had to request a fork or spoon. Had to get my own menu each time. Espresso machine was broken. Awesome location, proximity to Malibu Beaches. Unique, with great subtle touches. Way nicer than your average cookie cutter hotel. We will definitely go back. Only minus was view from first floor rooms is a hedge.

Surfrider is a quaint, boutique hotel in beautiful Malibu. We stayed here while visiting Pepperdine University nearby and had a wonderful experience. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the beach house vibe was exactly as advertised. My only feedback to keep in mind for future guests is that it is not quiet (PCH is very noisy) and it is VERY difficult to get a ride-share (Uber or Lyft). If you have to get somewhere on time, just take into account that an Uber may take a long time and there's no guarantee that there will be one at all. Will definitely be back!!

More like a motel than a hotel-It’s on hwy 1, so traffic noise is to be expected- At first our experience was great Ariel the manager set us up with a room with a comfortable bed- The AM delivered coffee from the roaster they partnered with was amazing- The hotel has a upper deck where u can drink your coffee while you watch the pacific- amazing view, but the experience crashed when i pulled a long hair out of my eggs- that in itself would not be so bad if not for the additional hairs my wife then pointed out to me- They were not the kind from your head- Disgusting… was it because i ordered no toast? One bad actor should not ruin it for the good staff, so if you go here just don’t eat!

This is a brilliant hotel. Nice and comfortable with great staff. You don’t need anything as the surf hut has boards, beach chairs and umbrella. The team make sure you have a great stay you will love! Literal steps away from the beach.
