A charming small hotel/pub with an excellent beer garden. Room was spacious & airy with adequate en-suite facilities. Breakfast was served in the conservatory - lots of choice & very good quality. Staff are very helpful & friendly. Added bonus is the free parking at the rear.

We very much enjoyed our stay in this charming hotel, which boasts clean and comfortable rooms and a convenient carpark for guests in a popular area of York. The staff were friendly and hospitable and accommodating in all measures. The breakfast menu was surprisingly broad and the food delicious. We spent a pleasant few hours sipping good ales and tasty cold spritzers in their extensive beer garden listening to talented local musicians at their excellent open mic.

We stayed in Bootham room for 2 nights and loved it. Very friendly check in, made us feel welcomed. In fact, all of the staff we met here were very welcoming. We didn’t hear any noise from the pub downstairs and even if there would have been any, it wouldn’t bother us as at the end of the day this is a pub accommodation. Walking distance from main amenities. Great choice of tap beers, nice pub food and hearty breakfast with a lots of choices. I think we have found our hotel where to stay when we will be visiting York again.

What a lovely place to stay! From our arrival throughout, ALL the staff were polite and very welcoming, couldn't do enough to assist. Parking was available, the service in public areas was first class, drinks prepared beautifully. We sat outside in the evening in the colourful courtyard. Breakfast this morning was also really good, with a decent pot of tea to wash down the delicious food. I would not hesitate to stay here again, thank you all for making us so welcome!

Extremely helpful and friendly staff. The room was clean and a good breakfast to set you up for the day. The pub and beer garden was lovely and the location was ideal with the Minster literally round the corner and all the main city centre attractions no more than 10 to 15 minutes walk away. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to visit again in the future.

Very festive beautiful deco, it felt so cosy .staff very cheerful and very helpful .very comfy bed and clean couldn't fault the place had a fantastic time and the lady who cooked our breakfast was so lovely as was the perfect breakfast. free parking .close to all amenities.will be going back .thankyou all .

Room very spacious and spotless. Plenty of tea bags/coffee etc in room. Free car parking Staff pleasant and helpful. Breakfast menu amazing and delicious. I had poached eggs with salmon on a toasted muffin. Central for visiting York. Would definitely recommend this place and hopefully stay again

We had a brilliant stay here. We stayed in Fishergate which we found really comfortable and clean. Our room was serviced during breakfast every day. Breakfast was huge and there were lots of choices including a full English and smoked salmon and eggs. Breakfast is 9-10am every day which suites us well. Even when the hotel was busy, our room was nice and quiet. We asked for a breakfast in our room/to go on our check out day because we left early and we had a beautiful breakfast delivered to our room the night before. The staff could not have been more helpful and they seemed genuinely eager to please. The hotel is ideally situated for the city centre with lots of takeaways and nice pubs and restaurants close by. We would definitely stay again. It was good value as well.

Although we visit York often, This is the first time staying at the exhibition, the staff were very friendly and helpful from arrival until we left, especially Joe who checked us in and showed us to our room. The room was very comfortable and clean, the breakfast was excellent and the whole atmosphere was very welcoming. After just one night there we booked to come back and stay again! Thankyou to everyone at the exhibition for making our trip to York a memorable one 🤗

A cosy pub with small but very comfortable rooms. We were made very welcome from the start. Breakfast was delicious, although the timing - from 9:00 to 10:00 - is a little late for visitors keen to get out and explore the city. The central location is excellent as well. There is a huge beer garden at the back which would be fantastic in warmer months.

We stayed at this hotel for one night. It's close to the York Minster and easily accessible from the train station. The breakfast was fantastic with many choices, but it started late start from 9am. The hotel is above the Exhibition Bar with a nice atmosphere. You can go down for a drink at night. The only reason for 4 stars is that the bed is too soft, as I felt it would collapse while sitting on it.

York marathon on my birthday so missed breakfast Sunday but Monday was ok even a tad earlier so I could get on the road home. High level of attention to detail room was amazing comfy bed quiet slept well. Well located and parking a tad confusing but got there in the end. Biscuits coffee was plenty and ended up a solo trio as my partner was not fit to come with me due to long drive ….

Everyone was so friendly. Room was ready. Parking immediately available. All staff in the evening and the morning went above and beyond. So close to the centre of York. Just perfect.

The location is just moments away from a gate to the walled city and just a few minutes to the cathedral and it has parking. It is on a busy road. We were there when the temperature was hot and the configuration of the window and curtains didn’t allow us to leave the window open much overnight. Other than that it was very good and I would definitely stay there again.

We stayed at this hotel for one night. It's close to the York Minster and easily accessible from the train station. The breakfast was fantastic with many choices, but it started late start from 9am. The hotel is above the Exhibition Bar with a nice atmosphere. You can go down for a drink at night. The only reason for 4 stars is that the bed is too soft, as I felt it would collapse while sitting on it.

Central location (ie we could walk anywhere we wanted to be in the city) with parking. Great breakfast and comfortable room. Our other commitments prevented eating dinner here and recommend checking kitchen opening days for pub food but plenty of alternatives close by.

We've been staying here for 24 years Amazing welcome always from Rose, Shuni,Danny and staff. The rooms are beautiful, spotless and comfortable. It's a lovely cosy pub too with a fantastic beer garden. All the benefit of staying at a pub without any noise, whatsoever, in any of the rooms...we've stayed in them all over the years! Minutes from the city centre, free parking and the best breakfast in York!

Room very spacious and spotless. Plenty of tea bags/coffee etc in room. Free car parking Staff pleasant and helpful. Breakfast menu amazing and delicious. I had poached eggs with salmon on a toasted muffin. Central for visiting York. Would definitely recommend this place and hopefully stay again

A cosy pub with small but very comfortable rooms. We were made very welcome from the start. Breakfast was delicious, although the timing - from 9:00 to 10:00 - is a little late for visitors keen to get out and explore the city. The central location is excellent as well. There is a huge beer garden at the back which would be fantastic in warmer months.

We had a brilliant stay here. We stayed in Fishergate which we found really comfortable and clean. Our room was serviced during breakfast every day. Breakfast was huge and there were lots of choices including a full English and smoked salmon and eggs. Breakfast is 9-10am every day which suites us well. Even when the hotel was busy, our room was nice and quiet. We asked for a breakfast in our room/to go on our check out day because we left early and we had a beautiful breakfast delivered to our room the night before. The staff could not have been more helpful and they seemed genuinely eager to please. The hotel is ideally situated for the city centre with lots of takeaways and nice pubs and restaurants close by. We would definitely stay again. It was good value as well.

Stayed here for 3 nights and I must say it's one of the most enjoyable stays we've experienced. First of all the staff were so friendly and polite making us feel right at home and most welcome. The room (Bootham) was spot on, very clean and comfortable, plenty of storage space and tea/coffee facilities. The hotel is in a perfect location, away from the city centre but only a few hundred yards walk to the bars/restaurants. The beer garden is very large with speakers dotted around with nice background music (could do with being slightly louder as it's hard to hear with all the chatter) The best bit of our stay was the food, we've stayed in many 5 star hotels and none have come close to the breakfast served at the exhibition. Would we stay here again? Without a shadow of doubt! Wouldn't stay anywhere else if visiting York.

The bathroom was almost as large as the room. The window was great, as it allowed for air flow. Breakfast was amazing and served in the conservatory. There were very sweet servers. They offered a menu to order from and it was all included with the room. The location was perfect. We were within walking distance of everything we wanted to see and do.

We loved staying at the Exhibition Hotel! It was amazing! From Luke checking us in to Grace serving us at breakfast, it was easy, relaxed and so convenient to the everything we wanted to see. The breakfast (which was included) went above and beyond)-it was fresh, delicious and better than several of the meals we had at other places. Highly recommend and hope to visit again in the future!

This hotel is right on the edge of the city making it ideal to get to all the attractions and pubs. The staff were amazing, really friendly and helpful. Thebrooms are sizeable and the bathroom was huge and clean. Thenpub itself is warm and friendly and breakfast was huge. Really reasonably priced particularly as ut has parking for free.
