Lovely boutique hotel in the Northern Quarter. Daily continental breakfast delivered to your room at a time chosen by you. The hotel is very quiet. The hotel has coffee/tea/hot chocolate daily for free. The bar offers Prosecco and nibbles for happy hour and a very well stocked bar for anything else you might want and wonderful bartenders. The staff are friendly and always able to offer restaurants and areas to see. Can’t wait to stay here again.

Not recommended if you have more than a carryon bag. Anything larger, and there's simply no room for it ! The double bed rooms should really only have a single bed. It was ridiculous to book a hotel room that's smaller than your own spare bedroom in a modest house. Also, there's no lift. So you're carrying your luggage up and down stairs.

It’s one of the best boutique hotels I’ve stayed in. The rooms are comfortable and bed is great. All the facilities are modern and new. Even has a hairdryer and hair straighten in the bathroom. The small details make such a difference. A glass of Prosecco nibbles and cookies and hot chocolate! Then as if that’s not enough they include breakfast delivered to your room on a tray! Amazing !

Very nice hotel with friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is unique with great interior. It's located a short walk from Manchester Piccadilly, with plenty of shops, bars and restaurants close by. The hotel bar also has very good drinks, and the breakfast delivered to the room is nice.

Perfect funky little pad for a night out in Manchester. 24/7 room service (cocktails only) haha. The room was surprisingly quiet considering! Small and compact room but the charm of the whole building more than makes up for it. Would definitely stay again.

We have had an amazing stay at The Cow Hollow! The hotel is small but situated well for all the sights of Manchester. The staff were attentive and friendly and really enhanced the experience. The room we had was small but as we were out and exploring for most of the day, it didn't bother us. There is complimentary tea and coffee in the main part of the hotel and a coffee stand downstairs, as there is no facilities in the room. We enjoyed free prosecco and nibbles in the late afternoon and cookies and hot chocolate in the evening. We also had a choice of free breakfast and drink bought to our room the next day. It was an amazing experience and we'd definitely visit again.

Lovely hotel and really nice decor. There was complementary Prosecco, milk and cookies for supper and breakfast brought to the room, they really go the extra mile for guests. I don’t usually leave reviews but I couldn’t not leave a review.

Fabulous hotel with super friendly and thoughtful staff. Fantastic value for money especially given it's location in the heart of the Northern quarter. It was the little touches that made this hotel stand out - a complimentary glass of prosecco between 5&7 pm at the bar in reception. Which whilst compact and bijou was a beautiful place to sit. Coffee machines and fresh fruit were also available in the communal areas as complimentary. Ear plugs, slippers and complimentary breakfast were all available in the beautifully decorated room (albeit the room was quite compact - worth selecting one of the bigger rooms if staying for more than one night). Would highly recommend and will definitely be staying again!

The hotel was lovely and quirky with the best use of space. Staff were excellent and friendly. Little touches such as free glass of prosecco and the milk and cookies at bed time are really lovely.

Check in was excellent. The room we stayed in was compact. There isn’t anywhere to hang clothes but it might advise that on their website (unsure). Also our room wasn’t the cleanest. The shower needs a deep clean to remove the mould build up on the tiles and seals. Lots of positives though about this place, the staff are great, breakfast hit the spot, a free drink of Prosecco if required, milk and cookies after 10pm. It’s a great location for access to the Northern Quarter which is a cool hipster environment.

This hotel was amazing, absolutly spotless, room was large and equipped with everything you needed and more! The whole hotel was modern and stylish. The staff where so attentive, nothing was too much. They frequently checked that we had everything we needed. There was free proseco on arrival, unlimited free hot drinks, and even free milk and cookies before bed! There was also free slippers and ear plugs. There was hair dryer and straightners in the room along side still and sparkling water and a radio and tv. We had breakfast in bed, we chose the night before and also chose a time slot for it to be delivered. We would recommend this to everyone and will definitely be booking again!

It was a perfect bougee hotel with amazing friendly staff who treated you like family. The room was fantastic and very clean. My only slight criticism was not enough plug sockets and no air conditioning but the staff provided a fan which was awesome.

Amazing staff in a ‘different’ hotel. Lovely experience, with a glass of Prosecco and bubbles, and other complimentary items which were lovely touches. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. The breakfast was tasty and delivered to the room. In places the room could do with some refining, there was a hole in the wall where the door closer had hit it, paint cans visible under the stairs. Minor points but at this price point is worth considering. Great location in town close to lots of bars and restaurants.

Staying at the Cow Hollow Hotel was like being with friends - the staff was so warm and welcoming, and helpful, it was so wonderful. The room reminded me of living in NYC, between the room size and having to walk up the stairs, except the bathroom was separated out by a door (unlike some apartments in The Big Apple). It was a very well done bathroom too, with lovely Lanvin products and not only a hair dryer, but curling iron and straightening iron. (And cute inscription on the bag holding them all.) And did I mention the mini bluetooth speaker that you could connect to your phone and play your tunes, or the free Netflix for when you returned from a day out and wanted to chill? 😘 Loved being able to easily walk to so many places nearby, with the hotel being in the center of the city. It’s definitely a place to stay if you just want to drop off your stuff and go exploring. Last but not least, there was the yummy breakfast of granola and oats, chocolate croissant, orange juice, a banana, and hot beverage of your choice. Thumbs up all around.

Me and my partner had a woundeful stay here. The staff where very friendly and accommodating The room was very clean, stylish and so was the whole hotel. i love the little card that had all the information on it and about restaurant in the area and everything Breakfast taken to the room in the morning, loved that! From my own personal experience working in hospitality and hotels. It may be a small hotel ut the detail that everything had been done is of high quality! Overall i would stay here again and recomend people to stay here!

Quirky and pleasing decor throughout. I had a short visit for work and its location is excellent. Presentation and quality of the contintenal breakfast provided was very good, espcially the freshly prepared orange juice and scrummy croisant. Great welcome by friendly staff on arrival. only negative really was rather a smallish bedroom, no storage for clothing and the bathroom blinds were very dusty, otherwise very clean elsewhere. I shall be back for next trip

Very quaint and well situated for where I needed to be. The area though is a little grubby. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The nice complimentary breakfast was a bonus. The room was clean and compact. I loved the en suite.

The look of the hotel was great, lots of nice touches, great decor and style, cookies at night and prosecco in the evening, lovely bathroom, breakfast in bed was a nice touch but the room was small so there was nowhere to even put the tray for breakfast and as we were in the basement the room was uncomfortably damp so you woke up feeling cold and clammy as the sheets felt damp to the touch. Staff were apologetic and understanding but could do nothing to solve the problem.

A cracking hotel with lovely rooms, really comfortable beds and fantastic bathrooms. The staff are welcoming and friendly, and the breakfast (which is delivered to your room) was fabulous. Absolutely loved it, and will definitely be back. The only slight niggle was it is fairly noisy (very drunk loud neighbors) but there are earplugs supplied, in the room.

Lovely restored building, very quirky. Lacks storage space but if you’re only there for 1 or 2 nights this is unlikely to be an issue. Extremely comfortable beds. We experienced some outside noise very early in the morning (shouting & smashing bottles) but this wouldn’t deter me from booking again, we really enjoyed our stay.

Stylish hotel with great touches. Staff friendly and professional. As with all hotels in this area, the sound from the streets in the evening was very loud. There was no aircon so we has to have the windows open and didn't sleep well. The standard king room was the smallest hotel room I've come acrosd. There was nowhere to put clothes apart from on top of bags or on the floor. Feel it should be described as a small room rather than standard. Some extra hooks would help with clothes. We would probably stay again but only in the winter when the windows wouldnt bask for a larger top floor room.

Really nice boutique hotel in cool neighbourhood. Staff were absolutely lovely and check in was super easy. Loved all the little extras like milk and cookies before bed, sweets on arrival and complimentary breakfast in bed at a time of your choice (not enough hotels do this!). Room was maybe a little small for our big suitcases but if you’re just staying for a night or two it’s fine. Also very hot in the room due to the heatwave (unfortunately there is no air con), however the staff kindly gave us a fan which made things so much more bearable! All in all a great stay and will definitely return next time we’re in Manchester.
Really nice boutique hotel in cool neighbourhood. Staff were absolutely lovely and check in was super easy. Loved all the little extras like milk and cookies before bed, sweets on arrival and complimentary breakfast in bed at a time of your choice (not enough hotels do this!). Room was maybe a little small for our big suitcases but if you’re just staying for a night or two it’s fine. Also very hot in the room due to the heatwave (unfortunately there is no air con), however the staff kindly gave us a fan which made things so much more bearable! All in all a great stay and will definitely return next time we’re in Manchester.

The hosts at the Cow Hollow are incredible. Very hospitable and welcoming right on arrival. Property is as advertised and you even get breakfast in bed on the house. Roughly a 10 minute walk to Piccadilly station and nightlife is just around the corner. I would stay here again and highly recommend.

Very nice hotel with friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is unique with great interior. It's located a short walk from Manchester Piccadilly, with plenty of shops, bars and restaurants close by. The hotel bar also has very good drinks, and the breakfast delivered to the room is nice.

Amazing staff in a ‘different’ hotel. Lovely experience, with a glass of Prosecco and bubbles, and other complimentary items which were lovely touches. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. The breakfast was tasty and delivered to the room. In places the room could do with some refining, there was a hole in the wall where the door closer had hit it, paint cans visible under the stairs. Minor points but at this price point is worth considering. Great location in town close to lots of bars and restaurants.

We have had an amazing stay at The Cow Hollow! The hotel is small but situated well for all the sights of Manchester. The staff were attentive and friendly and really enhanced the experience. The room we had was small but as we were out and exploring for most of the day, it didn't bother us. There is complimentary tea and coffee in the main part of the hotel and a coffee stand downstairs, as there is no facilities in the room. We enjoyed free prosecco and nibbles in the late afternoon and cookies and hot chocolate in the evening. We also had a choice of free breakfast and drink bought to our room the next day. It was an amazing experience and we'd definitely visit again.

All of the staff were fantastic, everyone was so friendly and keen to help, they really made us feel welcome. All of the little perks were a wonderful touch like free hot chocolate, cookies, prosecco and antipasti. Would definitely stay again

We loved the Cow Hollow hotel. It had a beautiful lobby, great coffee and bar, and a super cute room. The street that the hotel was on was not the best, and didn't feel safe at night. Next time, we will probably stay in a different area.

I booked this hotel based on the previous reviews. On arrival it looked a lovely little place, and the staff were super friendly. The 1st red flag that I didnt pick up on, was getting given ear plugs on arrival. Our room (#5) was ground floor next to a very busy street leading to an outdoor square with many bars. On return to the room around 11pm it was too hot to sleep so we had no option than to open the windows. There is no A/C or ventilation of any sorts, and a fan pushing warm air around the room is of little use. With the windows open we were pretty much trying to get to sleep on a bed in a thoroughfare. We heard every conversation from the hundreds of people leaving the city. At 3am we finally got a few minutes of silence, but this was then ruined by the dishwashing machines humming away in the hotel bar, which was the other side of the wall our headboard was on. And then the outside noise continued. We called it a night at 03:30 and checked out of the hotel, we'd had enough. Even the night staff mentioned how annoying they found the hum of the dishwasher and had themselves tried to tell management about it. I get its an old building, I get its a busy area, I'm not unrealistic, I lived in London for 10 yrs and know some cities dont sleep. This was just a no win situation. I dont wear ear plugs at home, I dont expect to pay £170 for a night away and have to wear ear defenders to get a good nights sleep. Just cant recommend this place, sorry.

First time visit to the hotel and area of Manchester, quirky but well worth a visit. Easy walking distance to the Arndale Shopping Centre and into the Northern quater, would certainly stay here again in the future.

Really nice stay, comfortable night stay, staff were great, really friendly. They know their limits and adapt to them greatly, offering coffees any time for the bar, bringing continental breakfast to your room which was nice and freshly made.

Lovely boutique hotel in the Northern Quarter. Daily continental breakfast delivered to your room at a time chosen by you. The hotel is very quiet. The hotel has coffee/tea/hot chocolate daily for free. The bar offers Prosecco and nibbles for happy hour and a very well stocked bar for anything else you might want and wonderful bartenders. The staff are friendly and always able to offer restaurants and areas to see. Can’t wait to stay here again.

Lovely little place. Very comfy bed. Great coffee and continental in morning. Nice staff. Perfect for a quick overnight. Lovely space. Good bar. I felt welcome and cozy. Only complaint is they called my mobile before trip just to check in. Although intent nice, cold call on mobile not appreciated. Number provision is for addressing problems, not a chat.

Great base for going out to socialise. The rooms on the lower ground were subject to a lot of external noise, particularly with it being the weekend. Water in the shower was cold on arrival. In fairness the staff responded promptly and resolved it but the following the same happened again. We requested 1 gluten free breakfast due to my wifes gluten allergy but what was provided was not what we ordered.

Lovely hotel and really nice decor. There was complementary Prosecco, milk and cookies for supper and breakfast brought to the room, they really go the extra mile for guests. I don’t usually leave reviews but I couldn’t not leave a review.

The building itself was nice, decor etc but as we were put in a room in the basement area you could hear everyone walking above. Also you could hear other people in their rooms talking and even putting the keys in doors. They offer a mill cookies service at 2200. I’ve had them in other hotels and they were great warm soft melted cookies with warm milk. Here your given 3 Maryland cookies and glass of milk. Not worth the trip to the lobby. Also offer a breakfast and a time to be sent to your room. We wanted a lay in and choose 0900 but that didn’t matter because the next room had theirs at 0730 and we know because it’s so loud with people knocking on the doors etc. so we were also up at 0730. My wife picked the omelette which more resembled a deflated balloon or one of them rubber joke sick toys from the 90’s. I had croissant and granola, croissant was actually really nice but I didn’t even receive the granola. For the price of the room at £159 on weekday I expected a bit better.

The staff always insisted on delivering the requested items. They were all welcoming and helpful. The location is great. I was very appreciative of the "11ish" checkout time. I didn't have to rush when I need a little extra time. I would stay here again.

There are things to like about this hotel. The building itself has character, the Northern Quarter location is excellent, some communal areas are attractive, and the bed was comfortable. Unfortunately, experience of the room itself was disappointing, particularly given the price paid (£270 for one night) and the fact it was sold as a Deluxe Room. On arrival I was allocated a basement room with only a small skylight-style window at ground level. The room had a noticeable damp smell, there were visible damp marks on the bathroom ceiling above the shower, the toilet roll was wet, and the sink tap was loose. The room also felt much smaller and less premium than described as “Deluxe”. I raised these concerns immediately with reception and was told that maintenance would be informed and that a manager would contact me. No manager contacted me during my stay. I subsequently followed up through both the hotel and Hotels.com, including a written complaint, but received no response whatsoever. Hotels.com were poor too. Had the hotel simply acknowledged the concerns and engaged constructively, my impression would have been a little different. Manchester has many excellent hotels, and while Cow Hollow clearly has some potential, I do not feel the room I was given represented good value for money. At this price point, I believe there are better options available elsewhere in the city. I definitely won’t stay again and you probably would not be happy paying more than £100

I subsequently followed up through both the hotel and Hotels.com, including a written complaint, but received no response whatsoever. Hotels.com were poor too. Had the hotel simply acknowledged the concerns and engaged constructively, my impression would have been a little different. Manchester has many excellent hotels, and while Cow Hollow clearly has some potential, I do not feel the room I was given represented good value for money. At this price point, I believe there are better options available elsewhere in the city. I definitely won’t stay again and you probably would not be happy paying more than £100
