It needs some money spending on it and staff could be more helpful by asking to help you with your bags. I struggled with 3 bags by myself whilst the staff member rushed ahead (up the road to the accommodation, then up steep stairs to the room). Bathroom had a dirty cloths around the radiator pipe. Damp and peeling decor. Uncomfortable spring mattress. Insect traps under bed. Extremely pub underneath room until almost midnight. Smells of grease and the carpets are disgusting. Had I not arrived so late in the evening and been exhausted, I would have refused to stay. Breakfast starts at 8.30am which was too late for me, however I doubt I would have eaten there anyway due to how grubby the place is. Not for people who need easy access.

The dinner and breakfast were good The bar was not quite what we thought it would be but there was another bar in the same building that was. The room was nice but difficult to access because of the narrow stairs. In all it was satisfactory and met our expectations.

Booked on the basis of the reviews online - questionable feedback from others !! The room we had - windows would not close. The bathroom had no shower and half the bath was under a sloping ceiling. Very difficult and dangerous to get into it - resorted to filling an empty bottle and pouring it over myself. The room was in good condition - bed was comfy. To reach the room you had to climb four flights of stairs. The stairs had filthy carpet and I wouldn't like to touch the handrail. Food in restaurant was good but chairs were dirty and worn out. Tables could do with a good clean - sticky, and peeling varnish. Breakfast only started at 8.30 ( too late for some who needed to leave early ) and then one morning we waited almost an hour after ordering. Could only have instant coffee ( ugh! ), the coffee machine had been out of commission for some time. Staff very friendly and doing their best. Place needs a lot of money spending on it. I think the majority of customers stay one night after getting off the ferry. We made the mistake of staying for five nights. NEVER AGAIN !!

Credit to the staff for waiting about until our ferry docked but past the customer service it went down hill. Checked in at 11.00pm and by 11.30pm the disco downstairs in the pub (the Hope & Anchor which the rooms are above and not the Rose & Crown) kicked in. What a row for an hour or so….. The room had a great sea and harbour view, very very very lovely - see the pictures. On to the complimentary breakfast, it’s a sea of grease and fat - avoid it. Bonuses were free parking and being 45 seconds from the ferry. I didn’t tell the team about my issues, if they think it’s suitable then crack on, must be doing something right as it’s still open.

The room I had should not rent it out because a bar is just below and extremely noisy. The noise is so loud and still go on at 1-2 am. Besides, the insulation of the property is extremely worst. You can hear the noise of the running water in the next room. I will definitely not come back and recommend to anybody to stay.

The owner James was great, got us in early. The place is very convenient for the train or ferry. But the place is noisy. We were in a room above he bar.

Our room was up 5 flights of stairs and the room was a little tired. The bathroom small, no shower, bath panel was in need of replacing, the mirror had some plating missing. The furniture in the bedroom was like something from the 60's, the bedside cabinets had no backs to them and the bed was broken. The stair carpet was badly stained and the bannisters really needed a coat of paint. Outside beer garden was poorly maintained and weeds everywhere But, the service and food was excellent andthe location was great for our needs. It was a nice stay but the b&b really needs a complete refurbishment

We left after 20 minutes as the room was so appalling. The bathroom was in the eves so you couldnt stand in the bath, you would have to crawl in and out. The basin tap was dripping so I tried to turn it off and the whole tap just swivelled round. The mattress was terrible not only could you feel every spring but it also compressed down to the divan base! The carpet should be in a skip somewhere. The door looked as if it had locks removed various times. the whole thing was just awful. We left and in fairness the member of staff on duty he offered to see if another room was available but if they felt the original room was satisfactory to be in use then there was no way we would have found something else ok!!

I didnt know what to expect when i booked this hotel. I was very very happy. Hotel was clean and well finished. Great service, lovely staff. Breakfast was amazing lovely and hot. We are planning on going back again in October. Great!

We were put up in the loft which we had to climb many stairs. There were odd shaped ceilings due to being in loft which we all ended up with head injuries. There was black around the bath with a sloped ceiling there so you couldn't bath in comfort. The toilet seat was wonky. We found a window handle in the desk drawer.

Location is good, very pretty place to look at. Unfortunately bed was so used the mattress was sunken and wobbly, both hubby and I had sore backs from it. The bathroom had a shower over a bath, but no room to stand. You had to sit in the bath and use a handheld showerhead, which sprayed water out the sides so that barely any water came out of the regular holes. Would not stay there again.

Easy late check in with key code. Room is quiet and comfortable with Super king bed. Room has everything you would expect. Very comfortable bed.

Great stay, food and staff were brilliant. The room itself could do with a refresh and the en suite doesn’t have a shower (room 11) but I was glad of the bath. Very comfy bed and would definitely stay again.

Room clean but tired looking, Bedding clean but firm, we were staying in number 3 bedroom and the fan on outside wall was noisy when trying to sleep, but the staff were friendly and helpful.

Nice location, run-down hotel, looks like it hasn't been renovated ever since it was bulit. The family suite is very uncomfortable, as bathroom size is only suitable for children under 4. For everyone else it's too small, you can hardly take a shower as the bathroom ceiling doesn't let you stand up.

The Rose and Crown is a very, very nice choice for a stay in Goodwick. It has a great location near the ferry terminal, train and bus stations. The staff is very attentive. Our room had a nice view of the bay. It would have been even nicer if the blind could go up. The bed was firm and comfortable. The restaurant is wonderful! The tempura cod was amazing as was the very large portion of the slow braised brisket. The breakfast menu had a good selection of yummy choices. The sports bar, Hope & Archer, next door was a friendly place to enjoy a pint after a day of hiking & outdoor adventures. The bar also has a pool table, darts, and a big screen TV for watching sports. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend the Rose and Crown to friends and fellow travelers.

The room I had should not rent it out because a bar is just below and extremely noisy. The noise is so loud and still go on at 1-2 am. Besides, the insulation of the property is extremely worst. You can hear the noise of the running water in the next room. I will definitely not come back and recommend to anybody to stay.

Staff were pleasant enough, but unable to help with the extreme heat in the room making it very uncomfortable to sleep. We were in room 5 which is located directly above the kitchen. There was a fan in the room which blew out warm air due to the motor heating up. A working fan would have made a big difference

It needs some money spending on it and staff could be more helpful by asking to help you with your bags. I struggled with 3 bags by myself whilst the staff member rushed ahead (up the road to the accommodation, then up steep stairs to the room). Bathroom had a dirty cloths around the radiator pipe. Damp and peeling decor. Uncomfortable spring mattress. Insect traps under bed. Extremely pub underneath room until almost midnight. Smells of grease and the carpets are disgusting. Had I not arrived so late in the evening and been exhausted, I would have refused to stay. Breakfast starts at 8.30am which was too late for me, however I doubt I would have eaten there anyway due to how grubby the place is. Not for people who need easy access.

The staff where fantastic - I was stressed as we needed to check-in after they closed, but they greeted us wonderfully and even kept the bar open for a while, so we could relax and have a drink - great service.

Very friendly staff, great room and great breakfast. Very convenient for the ferry, especially as the Rose and Crown are used to travellers arriving late from Ireland (ferry did not get into Fishguard until 1145 hrs)!! Well done Delphi and staff. The Hope and Anchor next door is an added bonus.

The Rose and Crown is the perfect overnight stop off the 23.00 boat from Rosslare. It is about half a mile from the boat ramp and so much better than a drive through the night to almost anywhere you might be going. That's not to say the Rose and Crown is only a place you 'use' for a brief sleep and breakfast before you move on east or north. If you are visiting the far west of Wales I think it would be a perfectly adequate base. You will get a friendly welcome...it was considerably cheerier than I could muster waiting for strangers to arrive just before midnight. The breakfast was excellent and served with the familiarly of a recently discovered friend. I have no idea whether the evening meals or the pub were 'good' but on the evidence I would bet it would be. Stay here off the ferry and be sent on your way rested and well fed. For a longer inexpensive 'pub' stay, it is definitely worth a look.

This pub is very convenient for folk coming off the Stena Ferry at Fishguard. It is very comfortable and provides bed and an excellent breakfast at a great price.

The Rose and Crown is a very, very nice choice for a stay in Goodwick. It has a great location near the ferry terminal, train and bus stations. The staff is very attentive. Our room had a nice view of the bay. It would have been even nicer if the blind could go up. The bed was firm and comfortable. The restaurant is wonderful! The tempura cod was amazing as was the very large portion of the slow braised brisket. The breakfast menu had a good selection of yummy choices. The sports bar, Hope & Archer, next door was a friendly place to enjoy a pint after a day of hiking & outdoor adventures. The bar also has a pool table, darts, and a big screen TV for watching sports. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend the Rose and Crown to friends and fellow travelers.

The stay was okay. The small double room is actually a single with sofa, the was a bad smell from the bathroom not big deal just had to keep the door closed. I couldn't have dinner in the pub as the chef was too busy, and also the breakfast could be earlier 8.30am is bit late for people that wants to start walking early. But overall it was ok, the location is quite good just next to the path and I had a good sleep.

The dinner and breakfast were good The bar was not quite what we thought it would be but there was another bar in the same building that was. The room was nice but difficult to access because of the narrow stairs. In all it was satisfactory and met our expectations.

Booked on the basis of the reviews online - questionable feedback from others !! The room we had - windows would not close. The bathroom had no shower and half the bath was under a sloping ceiling. Very difficult and dangerous to get into it - resorted to filling an empty bottle and pouring it over myself. The room was in good condition - bed was comfy. To reach the room you had to climb four flights of stairs. The stairs had filthy carpet and I wouldn't like to touch the handrail. Food in restaurant was good but chairs were dirty and worn out. Tables could do with a good clean - sticky, and peeling varnish. Breakfast only started at 8.30 ( too late for some who needed to leave early ) and then one morning we waited almost an hour after ordering. Could only have instant coffee ( ugh! ), the coffee machine had been out of commission for some time. Staff very friendly and doing their best. Place needs a lot of money spending on it. I think the majority of customers stay one night after getting off the ferry. We made the mistake of staying for five nights. NEVER AGAIN !!

I didnt know what to expect when i booked this hotel. I was very very happy. Hotel was clean and well finished. Great service, lovely staff. Breakfast was amazing lovely and hot. We are planning on going back again in October. Great!

Credit to the staff for waiting about until our ferry docked but past the customer service it went down hill. Checked in at 11.00pm and by 11.30pm the disco downstairs in the pub (the Hope & Anchor which the rooms are above and not the Rose & Crown) kicked in. What a row for an hour or so….. The room had a great sea and harbour view, very very very lovely - see the pictures. On to the complimentary breakfast, it’s a sea of grease and fat - avoid it. Bonuses were free parking and being 45 seconds from the ferry. I didn’t tell the team about my issues, if they think it’s suitable then crack on, must be doing something right as it’s still open.

Entrance separate to main building. The room was fine, nothing special but it was clean. The door to the ensuite was a folding door which didn't close fully. Breakfast was included but doesn't start until 8.30 and the majority of the customers were taking the morning ferry so wouldn't be able to have breakfast. We had dinner in the restaurant which was FREEZING!!
