Check in could be slightly improved if someone was dedicated solely to the front desk. They seemed a bit rushed off their feet with the event on at the same time. More lighting and grit in the car park would be good too. Because of the event on at the time, it was quite a full car park. Being on my own walking through the dark, slippy car park, I didn't feel the most comfortable. More lighting over signage would be helpful to guide around the car park too.

I really loved the hotel and my room, however the bed was really uncomfortable. The mattress was really lumpy and sank in on both sides so I didn't have a great nights sleep, hence for the low score. On-site parking was also great and was one of the reasons I picked the hotel.

We looked at lots of hotels for a one night in Leicester. Most were either big chain or fairly basic city hotels. This is mainly a wedding venue but in a bit of a green oasis within Leicester. Quiet, good service, good food, plenty of space. A good find

Cons Very noisy - bar on ground floor played music via speakers into the garden constantly from 3pm until ? (we went to bed with earplugs in so not sure what time it finished). Doors were paper thin so you could hear anyone in the corridor. No safe in room Surrounding park didn’t feel safe Pros Lovely staff Good tea/coffee selection in room Nice toiletries

very nice old manor house and rooms with high ceilings although rooms were a little dated and bed mattress was past its use by date. Also probably chose the wrong night to stay with a lively wedding going on but I suspect that will be a common experience staying here and probably the hotel is not a best bet for a quiet evening.

Lovely hotel in an unusual location, if uiu stay make sure you eat in the black iron, ⚫️ amazing steaks at a reasonable price, rooms were comfy, staff were very helpful, had a coupe of cocktails are dinner made by Ella, thanks for being a perfect host 😁

One night stay, nice warm room on arrival. Facilities adequate for our stay, good coffee machine, plenty of towels, bed comfortable, pillows a little hard for our liking. Didn’t seem to be a safe in the room. Reasonably quiet but could hear someone using the toilet in the room above! Thought breakfast choice limited - continental poor selection, cooked full English very good, but prefer toast severed separately and not buttered. Coffee at breakfast - awful! Need to invest in a coffee machine. The Asian lady from London on reception (sorry didn’t get her name) very friendly and helpful. Had a nice chat with her on our return later in the evening. Would stay again if in the area.

Only downside was condition of the mattress on the bed - severely worn and flattened on one side - it felt like sleeping on a hillside. Everything else during our stay was fine

Stayed at Winstanley House for a wedding. Rooms we’re spacious which made getting ready easy, our bathroom was also massive, with a separate shower & bath. Beds are huge & very comfy.The grounds are beautiful, a perfect setting for a summer wedding. Would definitely stay again.

the room was ok but at 6am you can hear every word of the staff starting work so not great. restaurant is clearly understaffed but the two staff were great. food was not hot and steak very tough. breakfast fantastic. told I would receive receipt by email for meal, still not arrived.

Very disappointed. Almost got treated like a criminal ( have stayed here before and highly recommended the hotel to my family and friends ) Some staff in reception have not got a clue about customer service and were very quick to blame their colleagues

Bar staff at the function right at the end was roudy and really rude. Paying £255/Night for that they should be more careful. Breakfast was cold pile of toast and warm tea water, not even in 1 Star you would get that.

No heating on the room when we arrived. Were told that by security as no one was there form hotel staff. Were given a small heater and the room was like an ice box when we got in the room as no one had bothered to heat it. It was -1 outside. No apology was given. Took us hours to settle in and didn't sleep till 2am as a result but were told as housekeeping leaving we can't have a later checkout. Terrible stay with not one apology from anyone. Been many times before but this time they really disappointed.

Cons Very noisy - bar on ground floor played music via speakers into the garden constantly from 3pm until ? (we went to bed with earplugs in so not sure what time it finished). Doors were paper thin so you could hear anyone in the corridor. No safe in room Surrounding park didn’t feel safe Pros Lovely staff Good tea/coffee selection in room Nice toiletries

Stayed at Winstanley House for a wedding. Rooms we’re spacious which made getting ready easy, our bathroom was also massive, with a separate shower & bath. Beds are huge & very comfy.The grounds are beautiful, a perfect setting for a summer wedding. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely hotel in an unusual location, if uiu stay make sure you eat in the black iron, ⚫️ amazing steaks at a reasonable price, rooms were comfy, staff were very helpful, had a coupe of cocktails are dinner made by Ella, thanks for being a perfect host 😁

We stay on our way to Peak District and choose to do a park run in the morning. The park run is in the same park which is 1 minute outside which is amazing. The front desk staff is excellent, when we check the time of breakfast, they told the kitchen to make sure wait us to get our breakfast- in the end we back on time but still very caring service.

The parkland area around the hotel was a nice walk along with the walled garden. The staff was friendly and answered questions patiently. The breakfast and dinner at the restaurant was lovely.

Had an amazing stay here. It is the second time we have stayed here and it is just amazing. We had a stunning room and we ate at the restaurant again the food is incredible.

There is beautiful parkland around the property and friendly and helpful staff. I was a little disappointed with the lack of menu options available in the afternoon. The bedrooms and hotel are fabulous and very comfortable. I would absolutely stay there again.

the room was ok but at 6am you can hear every word of the staff starting work so not great. restaurant is clearly understaffed but the two staff were great. food was not hot and steak very tough. breakfast fantastic. told I would receive receipt by email for meal, still not arrived.

One night stay, nice warm room on arrival. Facilities adequate for our stay, good coffee machine, plenty of towels, bed comfortable, pillows a little hard for our liking. Didn’t seem to be a safe in the room. Reasonably quiet but could hear someone using the toilet in the room above! Thought breakfast choice limited - continental poor selection, cooked full English very good, but prefer toast severed separately and not buttered. Coffee at breakfast - awful! Need to invest in a coffee machine. The Asian lady from London on reception (sorry didn’t get her name) very friendly and helpful. Had a nice chat with her on our return later in the evening. Would stay again if in the area.

Everything was great. Staff were helpful and enthusiastic to engage with my husband who was a former pupil at the school. Cooked breakfast was top notch. My request for room overlooking the big tree was also met! Excellent all round. Just wish I'd noticed the Sunday night deal before booking a Saturday night (his birthday was the Sunday) as we'd liked to have eaten in the restaurant but it would've added too much to our room fees!

Location was amazing, you wouldn’t believe you were in a built up area. Plenty of parking. Although at the moment works are being carried out and there is a large drop off the main tarmac road onto gravel where you park . We nearly ripped the spoiler off our car. Hopefully this though will be rectified shortly. We did inform the receptionist about this matter. Rooms were lovely, need to look at wardrobe as hangers are too big for the space. Bathroom overall was good apart from new waste bin needed as the lid was dented and damaged. toilet roll holder loose. Minor things but did not take away from a lovely stay and weekend. We would definitely return.
