Our overnight stay was very good,the hotel was every bit as good if not better than there advert. Lots of hotels say pet friendly only to find that does not mean that the dogs are welcome in every room,High Force mean it. I would recommend this hotel to all dog owners. We were even given a free pass to the waterfall.

High Force Hotel is a lovely small hotel in a quiet location. Two night stay, comfy ensuite room with all facilities you would expect from a top rate hotel. Excellent food, smart dining room and cosy bar. Service excellent and staff friendly. Would recommend.

Lovely, polite and helpful staff. Food was amazing. Nice and cosy with two log fires on the go. Rooms were a bit small but adequate and the shower was difficult to get in and out. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Loved every minute of our stay here at Highforce. We walked into the Hotel to a lovely warm open fire. Our room was immaculate with a lovely comfortable bed & plenty of teas, coffees ect in the room. It has such a relaxed & comfortable feeling & the staff are fabulous, nothing is a bother to them. Breakfast was 10/10. Definitely recommend this hotel & will definitely come back. Thankyou to all the staff.

Hotel was located in a beautiful setting. There was ample free parking. Good choice of breakfast items. We also ate in the restaurant both evenings. The food was delicious. The bar area was cosy. Room was spacious with everything we required. We had to turn the radiators off though as room was far to hot for me. Not a bad point just personal preference, it was great to have the choice of hot or cold room though. We had a dog friendly room and thought it was great my dog could accompany me in the dining room, which was spacious.

Such a wonderful stay! We stopped for our wedding anniversary and it was perfect. We had an evening meal and the food was delicious, plus the hotel had 2 gorgeous Christmas trees and they even let us take a drink to our room for the end of the night. Very friendly and welcoming staff. The breakfast the next morning was very nice and it was a lovely, cosy and relaxed atmosphere. Would absolutely recommend and stop there again! I hope we do one day!

Very friendly. Comfortable bed and pillows cosy clean room. Bathroom a good size, shower good. Restuarant and free breakfast excellent choices and cooked delicious. Good internet and drinks tray in bedroom.

Had a great stay at High Force Hotel 21st July 2024, the staff were wonderful, really helpful, friendly and offered great service . The food in the restaurant was 10/10, superb, we had the soup and the rib of beef. We don't normally have soup but is was superb. The rib was really tasty , the gravy was rich and served with vegetables and for pudding we had home made sticky pudding again 10/10. Stayed in room 8 which was extremely clean and well presented, bed was really comfy. I book around 60 hotels per annum and this place is going into in my top 3, ever. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

The property was seeped in history. We stayed in room 3, the Kings room. A lovely compact room, spotless with lovely little touches such as a great selection of tea, coffee and hot chocolate, a fresh little bottle of milk, a comfy bed, feather duvet, black out curtains, great shower and toiletries. The breakfast was fantastic. George, our host gave us helpful information and free tickets to Raby Castle. Wow, what a fabulous castle. The rooms were stunning and thd guides very knowledgeable. We would definitely stay here again. Alina & Steve

Stayed before the hotel was renovated. Now everything is lovely and tastefully decorated. Very calm amd relaxing. Food and service excellent. Room 8 was a little small but perfect for a 1 night stay, ensuite immaculate. Would recommend staying and doing the low force to high force walk on the opposite side of the river.

Lovely hotel, amazing staff that were so helpful. Only downside was the room must have been situated above the kitchen so there was a very strong smell of cooking (frying) in the room.

Peacefully set close to an attractive waterfall in upper Teesdale, the High Force hotel is very professionally run. Our room (9) was spacious and well appointed, with good heating. The quality of food and its presentation was good, though we would have liked some variety in the menu from night to to night. We enjoyed our stay and would happily return.

Fantastic service throughout our stay at this unique hotel. The dinner and breakfast were excellent and nothing was too much trouble. The only slight negative is the size of the classic room.! A tad snug.

Arrived to a bank of motorbikes which was a bit intimidating but after that (they left after 5 mins) everything was A1👌 Good sunday roast; room tastefully decorated; shower was great but best of all was the quality mattress and feather pillows - slept easily which is unusual for me in hotels. Lovely ambience throughout the hotel too. Stylish & excellent stay for the price point. Would def go back.

Staff were friendly and forthcoming. When my partner discovered the bedding had feathers it was changed immediately.. The lighting in the room was very poor if you want to sit and read.

This hotel was excellent in terms of customer service, comfortable bed, tasty menu - dinner and breakfast. The chef made my husband a delicious cake for his birthday. We were surprised, and disappointed at the number of dogs allowed in the dining area. This would deter us rebooking for any future visit.

the hotel is lovely ,it was short staffed but you would never have known the staff worked really hard and was always pleasant and helpful could not do enough for us.our only negative thought was the menu could do with having a bit more choice but if you ask for something they will try the best to make it for you second time visit and will be returning soon

Excellent accommodation a great place to stay. All staff were very friendly and personable. Couldn't do enough for you. I am Gluten Free and that was extremely well catered for. Something different off menu every night and excellent English Breakfasts and GF Corn Flakes. Couldn't ask for any better GF accommodation . Ideal location if you like the out doors and walking

The Hotel and room was very comfortable and food and drink was excellent. The walk to High Force falls was just enough to walk of an excellent breakfast.

So glad we went here. This hotel is so good on many levels. The staff headed by George makes the place welcoming. The room was excellent, the food was great quality and good value. The falls are superb as well as Raby Castle and Bowes Museum are a must visit. George can help with tickets and information. So many thanks to all for a great time.

Really enjoyed our stay at High Force, fantastic location and all staff could not have been more friendly, welcoming and helpful. Room was was clean and tidy and the food was excellent. The walks down the rivers Tees to the many waterfalls were delightful. Will definitely go back to High Falls for a longer stay in future.

The management and staff were really welcoming and friendly. The food was excellent. Only a short walk to the High Falls Waterfall. Would definitely go again.

Hotel was located in a beautiful setting. There was ample free parking. Good choice of breakfast items. We also ate in the restaurant both evenings. The food was delicious. The bar area was cosy. Room was spacious with everything we required. We had to turn the radiators off though as room was far to hot for me. Not a bad point just personal preference, it was great to have the choice of hot or cold room though. We had a dog friendly room and thought it was great my dog could accompany me in the dining room, which was spacious.

Hello there,,,,as per usual we love the high force hotel,,,,,,everything fromvstaff to cleaness etc was perfect,,,,,,,,,we do feel that as weve stayed here several times and dined here alot that the breakfast is not as good these days as in the past,,,,,,flavours etc not as good ,,,,,,??,,,,,,,we did not enjoy the breakfast but overall still top marks ,,,,,just need to keep food to the past quality cheers

the hotel is lovely ,it was short staffed but you would never have known the staff worked really hard and was always pleasant and helpful could not do enough for us.our only negative thought was the menu could do with having a bit more choice but if you ask for something they will try the best to make it for you second time visit and will be returning soon

Peacefully set close to an attractive waterfall in upper Teesdale, the High Force hotel is very professionally run. Our room (9) was spacious and well appointed, with good heating. The quality of food and its presentation was good, though we would have liked some variety in the menu from night to to night. We enjoyed our stay and would happily return.

Had a great stay at High Force Hotel 21st July 2024, the staff were wonderful, really helpful, friendly and offered great service . The food in the restaurant was 10/10, superb, we had the soup and the rib of beef. We don't normally have soup but is was superb. The rib was really tasty , the gravy was rich and served with vegetables and for pudding we had home made sticky pudding again 10/10. Stayed in room 8 which was extremely clean and well presented, bed was really comfy. I book around 60 hotels per annum and this place is going into in my top 3, ever. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

Arrived to a bank of motorbikes which was a bit intimidating but after that (they left after 5 mins) everything was A1👌 Good sunday roast; room tastefully decorated; shower was great but best of all was the quality mattress and feather pillows - slept easily which is unusual for me in hotels. Lovely ambience throughout the hotel too. Stylish & excellent stay for the price point. Would def go back.

Excellent accommodation a great place to stay. All staff were very friendly and personable. Couldn't do enough for you. I am Gluten Free and that was extremely well catered for. Something different off menu every night and excellent English Breakfasts and GF Corn Flakes. Couldn't ask for any better GF accommodation . Ideal location if you like the out doors and walking

comfortable & attractive room & very friendly, helpful staff. We ate in restaurant & food was excellent. Dog friendly in all areas with small extra charge. As a resident you can get access the water fall walk before general opening time and we had it to ourselves. You also get entry to Raby Castle but we didn’t have time this visit. Would definitely stay again.

Really lovely hotel, beautifully decorated and very comfortable rooms and beds with a fantastic, powerful shower. Lots of lovely small touches like fresh milk and cookies in the room. We were on the front facing the road and it was very quiet at night even with the window open, no road noise at all. Very good breakfast and we also had supper there which was delicious, I would go back just to eat there. Staff were incredibly friendly, warm and welcoming. Free entry to Raby Castle and High Force waterfall were included, we went to both and they are so worth a visit. Overall a brilliant stay, would absolutely go back, it was a real treat to stay at the hotel and fantastic value.
