Pros: Wonderful staff who are friendly and helpful. Comfortable beds. Good breakfast. Excellent Location Needs Improvement: Water pressure and shower head. Elevator to/from the parking garage takes a long time because it’s the only elevator and is shared with the bar. Have to take two elevators to get to your room from the garage.

Our stay could have been excellent. We were in town for the Megan Moroney concert. However, the only negative would be that all elevators were not working at the Hyatt. There was a long wait from the room to the lobby and from the lobby to the room due to the middle elevator being out of order.

Visiting my daughter. Great location. Front desk staff seemed to be anxious for shift to end. Hubar delayed opening until 3:30. Lobby bar didn’t open until 5. No food until 5?? Seemed odd that a hotel at that expense can’t figure out a friendly staff and food and drinks all day. Great views upstairs once it finally opened. Sucked that you had to cross the breeze way to get to the roof top and it only allowed up when the Hybar allowed you entrance. They didn’t seem to care about what time they advertised as open (3pm) vs whe. They were ready. We were told, “they were still cutting fruit”. Several phone calls and several complaints later at least 50% of the patrons left for other opportunities. Once opened, the bar was under staffed and struggled to keep up. Although friendly, defiantly under prepared and dreaded. For the price paid I would recommend staying at neighboring hotels and wait until 5 and take advantage of the amenities offered… but be prepared to wait, as service is not the top priority

The hotel was beautiful. The breakfast was superb and quite filling. However there was only one elevator working the majority of my stay so we would wait anywhere from 10-20 minutes for the elevator to get back to your room or even downstairs.

Front desk didn’t explain we had to go to another building for parking. It was very confusing. The elevators were very slow. The floors in the bathroom were sticky. Everything looked clean, but a sticky floor is gross. There was no water or snack bar to buy in the room.

I have stayed at almost every hotel in Athens. This was my first time at The Hyatt. I dont know why it took me so long to book here. The check in staff were friendly and so helpful. The rooms are updated, spacious and clean. The location for downtown, Classic Center and Akins Arena is perfect. Check out was a breeze. Parking is free. This is my new favorite hotel in Athens!

Be weary of the rooms, I was bitten in bed (I’m assuming it was bed bugs), 9 times. 4 oh my neck (it’s embarrassing in public), 2 on my knee, 3 on my right foot. Had to get predisone and a rx prescription and they still aren’t gone.

Our stay was great. Clean, friendly staff, nice breakfast spread and walkable to nearby restaurants. Very close proximity to UGA as we were there for a tour. Would recommend. If I had to find a negative it would be the pull out couch, okay for a child but not an adult (the pad sucked). My son didn’t complain but I would have needed a massage the next day to work out the knots. Still giving 5 stars.

Breakfast buffet was the nicest I’ve seen for a chain hotel. Lots of fresh cut fruit! Room was freezing all the time. We were on the top floor and I had to sleep in my parka. Friends on other floors didn’t have that issue. The hallways also had air conditioning blasting in winter so I think it was a problem with the 9th floor. Room had a lot of space but needed more place to put luggage so you didn’t have to open it on the floor. Hot water took 10 mins to reach our shower. People were very loud and inconsiderate/drunk at all hours of the night in the hallways. I think we were just unlucky with our rom location as our friends didn’t experience any of the sesame issues.

I almost hated to leave. The Hyatt Place was beyond relaxing. Very clean, everyone was professional, the staff treated us well. People were smiling, some of the workers were even singing while working. The food was great, and the rooms were awesome. We slept so peacefully due to the beds being so comfortable. I will be back. Great place to get a way to, especially with the one you love.

I almost hated to leave. The Hyatt Place was beyond relaxing. Very clean, everyone was professional, the staff treated us well. Excellent location for a visit to University of Georgia. The hotel is walkable to downtown restaurants & stores and the area felt very safe. I would definitely stay here again on a return visit.

Excellent location for a visit to University of Georgia. The hotel is walkable to downtown restaurants & stores and the area felt very safe. I would definitely stay here again on a return visit.

Stayed here for game day weekend and loved it! Close to the stadium, right in downtown, convenient parking, pleasant staff, and the best complimentary breakfast I’ve ever had at a hotel! It’s a full buffet with bacon, sausage, eggs, potatoes, biscuits, French toast, sausage gravy, fruit, cereal, yogurt, bagels, muffins and so much more. I was truly blown away!

Stayed here for game day weekend and loved it! Close to the stadium, right in downtown, convenient parking, pleasant staff, and the best complimentary breakfast I’ve ever had at a hotel! It’s a full buffet with bacon, sausage, eggs, potatoes, biscuits, French toast, sausage gravy, fruit, cereal, yogurt, bagels, muffins and so much more. I was truly blown away!

Visiting my daughter. Great location. Front desk staff seemed to be anxious for shift to end. Hubar delayed opening until 3:30. Lobby bar didn’t open until 5. No food until 5?? Seemed odd that a hotel at that expense can’t figure out a friendly staff and food and drinks all day. Great views upstairs once it finally opened. Sucked that you had to cross the breeze way to get to the roof top and it only allowed up when the Hybar allowed you entrance. They didn’t seem to care about what time they advertised as open (3pm) vs whe. They were ready. We were told, “they were still cutting fruit”. Several phone calls and several complaints later at least 50% of the patrons left for other opportunities. Once opened, the bar was under staffed and struggled to keep up. Although friendly, defiantly under prepared and dreaded. For the price paid I would recommend staying at neighboring hotels and wait until 5 and take advantage of the amenities offered… but be prepared to wait, as service is not the top priority

We were on a spontaneous weekend getaway from our home in SC on 9/5/26. A little shocked at the room price but figured it was because we booked it last minute. Nope - we paid nearly 2x the normal rate because it was the night of the home opener for Georgia. Not being college football fans, we were completely unaware that was even happening. Believe me, it won't happen again. The hotel itself was nice - bed was comfortable, room clean, breakfast in the morning was very good. Though the elevators are a joke and half the downstairs appears to be under construction, it was still ok. But the chaos that the football fans bring in is unreal. We were kept awake until almost 4 am by racing car engines, yelling drunk people and incredibly loud emergency vehicles. There were half-used drink cups left everywhere as if they were waiting for Mommy to come pick up after them. I'd blame the kids for being unruly and messy but then I'd have to look past their parents stumbling around on their 5th margarita each trying to relive their glory days through their spoiled-rotten entitled brats. All looking at us like we were Martians for not wearing GA gear. Not to mention the vaunted music scene was nowhere to be found as most venues don't book live music on game nights. We had a couple good meals at restaurants but honestly couldn't wait to get out of there. I'm sure if you're a Bulldogs fan, it's heaven, but y'all have a new name from the rest of us - Ath-holes.
