The pool seemed poorly serviced, dirty and had a smell. Getting clean towels was a hassle. Breakfast and service was good. Everyone was polite

Every year for the past 3 years I stay here when visiting my family. This is my bad experience. Upon arrival water pressure was very very low could barely wash hands, toilet was broken and kept breaking after every 3rd use figured out how to fix in the back. Management did fix it the first time immediately when reported. The hot tub was just as cold as the regular pool which is another reason I usually book here. Ice machine had no ice every time I tried to use it. The pool table had all broken pool sticks. Pancake maker kept breaking. Just overall wasn’t the usual great stay I’m used to experiencing. Hopefully next time will be better.

The hotel was nice, the staff was good and the breakfast was delicious. BUT.....the ONLY reason I booked this specific hotel was for the indoor pool and hot tub. Upon arriving I was told the pool had been closed by the health department almost a month prior. I was disappointed that they did not update the website (or send an email/text) to disclose this. I had promised a pool to my 5 year old granddaughter and despite indicating one would be available, we were both let down. I understand things happen, but had I been advised, I would have stayed at a different location. I want to add, this trip was part of her Christmas gift, so the whole trip was planned around her. Sad eyes, complete with tears, because she couldn't swim doesn't matter to them, but it mattered a lot to me.

We had to move rooms 3 times because of showers not working! Then the whole reason we booked this hotel was because theu had an indoor pool. Well we get there and the indoor pool was closed by the health department! Also, the rooms have no microwave or coffee pot, you have to go to the lobby. And the breakfast was not great at all.

I liked the opportunity that breakfast was available and it was enough to go around. It was really clean inside and out. The only thing I did not like was the excessive amount of chlorine used in the pool area being that it was an indoor pool and had no ventilation it was hard to breathe after being in there for about 15 minutes but other than that everything else was Excellent‼️

It was a peaceful, quit stay, but they have one ice machine that was down for the whole stay and the whirlpool kept going in and out.

The bed was extremely hard. The window curtain wasn't functioning....stuck down. Our door did not lock automatically. You had to pull it shut to click. It does have a decent indoor pool. Hot tub wasn't functioning.

Check in was terrible and took over an hour. The hotel had increased the rate of one of my two rooms and spent an hour arguing with me and another half hour yelling at hotels.com over the phone. The pool was soiled and the hot tub was shut down. The gym was a joke with broken and missing equipment. Never again!!

Clean rooms, helpful staff, and in a safe area.

Bad experience staying here. Will never book again. 1.) AC was broken and was extremely loud, waking me up at multiple times over the course of the night. 2.) When I arrived the battery on my door was dead, so I couldn't leave my room as I pleased until the following morning when there was a tech available to fix it. 3.) Water pressure was extremely low and almost impossible to use sinks and shower. 4.) Walls are paper thin and there is no noise control. I could hear full conversations from other rooms on both sides. There was banging all night and loud TV's. 5.) Housekeeping banging on the door way too early in the morning. 6.) I was laying in bed on my last night, I shut my eyes for a little, when I re-opened them I saw one of the biggest roaches Ive ever seen in my life staring at me on the wall. 7.)The hallways smell like wet dog and mold, there needs to be some kind of air freshening. 8.) No complimentary bottled waters in the room. But if you go down to the lobby they are selling tiny water bottles for $7. For seven dollars!!!!!!!

This hotel is the worst ive ever experienced! The staff is rude and unhelpful. Theres bugs in the room and the staff could not care less. We changed rooms because there were multiple bugs in the room. We found a baby cockroach in our bed in the second room. and when we called front desk she said we could switch room's again. We told her we already switched rooms and would just like fresh sheets and pillows. She said she didnt have access to the maintenance closet and all the staff had gone home after 5. Though we didnt feel comfortable sleeping in that room. We packed our stuff, went down stairs and asked about another room only to be told theyre booked anyway. At that point i just wanted a refund and find another hotel. Hyatt next door was way cleaner, more professional, and around the same price.

the hotel is pretty new and clean and you can see them cleaning all the time. Also pet friendly, as you walk through the door they have water bowls for dogs. I appreciate the room was minimal carpet and clean because we took our small dog with us. The area is new and upscale and all the new restaurants are there across George Bush Hwy. Also close is Firewheel town center which has a cinema, shopping and more dining. Will come back again to this hotel.

I felt the room was small.

the rooms are very small and squished together if you book a 2bed. Booked a room for 4 people and we were basically stepping on each other and beds are not made for anyone who is over 6 feet tall. Clean hotel and nice staff though!

Everything was 4 stars except NO microwave in the room and the refrigerator hardly worked.

Bathroom door made terrible sqiking sound. We could hear noises fron neighbour and corridors.

Property facilities in poor conditions. Room was very small, no ice machines on your floor. Low water pressure. Will not ever use them again.

It's OK but small room no.coffee brewer in tge room

The room temp wouldn’t stay below 73°. There was a gap about 1/8th to 1/4 of an inch where see daylight on the AC unit itself. The shower water temp was either cold or scalding and was hard to get a good temp for a shower. The tile work needs a lot of grout work as there were pretty good gaps in between each tile. The room overall looks ok but was clearly some water and ceiling damage that they just painted over.

The hotel is extremely noise. Cheap thin walls and ceilings you can hear every noise. No carpeting on floors so we could hear loud clomping around above my room; not guest’s fault. If you are a kid or like sugary food breakfast ok but other food except the apple and coffee were terrible and they were out of many items(I got there at 9 it closed at 10). Probably wouldn’t stay at a TRU again

Desk clerk absent when I arrived. Waited 5+ minutes. Clerk so quiet I clouldn't hear them. Room small. AC great. Bed comfortable. TV didn't receive half the stations, and small number it did were pixelated. Couldn't log in to wifi without extended registration. Had to leave the room to get water. Motel 6 would have been cheaper and likely better.

Front staff was great. Our only issue was the hotel ran out of clean towels for the next day. Overall awesome place and convenient location.

Front desk was rude and not professional

We had a terrible experience with the front counter lady name Alicia. We had made reservations to our church's guests. There was some mixed up with their rooms. When my guest tried to explained, she didn't allow them to explained and kicked them out of the hotel, even when there was a night that we had paid extra. Terrible experience.

I showed up for my reservation on September 27, 2024 and was told my room was canceled by hotel.com.hotel.com did not call to tell me that my room was canceled nor did the hotel call to tell me that my room was canceled. Even though I booked through Hotels.com, I fail as a business. I am your customer still at the end of the day and you all should have called to let me know that my reservation was canceled. Because now I will probably never use Hotels.com again, but then your facilities won’t come up in mind because you know I think you don’t care for your customers. But then the young lady and the manager was not friendly delivering the news like I was bugging them so you guys can brush up on your Customer Service skills as well. I will say that the facility was clean looked very nice. However, the Customer Service will probably not allow me to come to your facilities again.

The staff at check-in was so nice. She explained all of the amenities and made sure that we had everything that we needed.

When we got there, the first the front desk person said was “oh you didn’t see my message?” very sarcastically and almost like he was looking forward to giving me the bad news. He emailed me instead of calling me about 3 hours before we arrived. Apparently, our Two beds were given away and all we were offered was a king. While my friend and I discussed what to do, the front desk got mad and yelled at us and said “HOW ABOUT WE JUST CANCEL THE ROOM ALTOGETHER AND YOU GUYS CAN TRY YOUR LUCK SOMEWHERE ELSE?” It was 11 pm, we had been driving all day from Corpus Christi (9 hours) , so of course we didn’t want try somewhere else. I felt like we were being cornered and forced to take it. My friend and I are big guys, so sleeping on one bed was definitely going to be uncomfortable. We asked if we would get the difference back between a twin and the king and the guy said no. It was very frustrating because it felt like he was trying to shoo us away. I came back down stairs to ask for 3 pillows, because we decided we were too big to fit on one bed and one of us would sleep on the floor. The guy replied with “do you really need more pillows?” rudely while he looked me up and down. Turns out we were the last people he talked to before his shift ended. Overall, this was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had at any hotel.

I stayed here while i visited the area for work. It was conveniently off the highway and buy plenty of dining options within a very short commute, if not walkable. There were a few very minor maintenance things that I noticed but it did not hinder my experience of this day period enjoyed the property and would recommend to family and friends.

I appreciated the proximity to the Curtis Cullwell Center.

Everything about the hotel was perfect. Clean, friendly staff, and convenient to pretty much anywhere in Dallas. I love how it’s quiet enough and away from the craziness while it’s close enough not to be annoying.

The hotel was very clean, the beds were comfortable. It was easy to find and very conveniently located for what I needed. Check in was a breeze, the clerk was very friendly. Theres a couple of boards by the elevators with recommendations on restaurants, things to do, when to avoid traffic, which i thought was pretty awesome.

Excellent service. Clean, modern room with everything working properly. Great options at the breakfast bar. Next time we travel we will definitely find another Tru by Hilton!

Location was a positive. negatives include running toilet, loose carpet in the hall, ran out of soap, breakfast facilities had appliances "out of order" and no caffeine coffee available(not even bags), Had no in room coffee.

This hotel advertises having "streaming tv" but it never worked. The 1st morning after arriving woke up to no water in the room and had to move at 6am because they had "no maintenance" person at that time. The breakfast is NOT a buffet but just a glorified continental breakfast. Never stayed here before and probably never will again. The staff was at least very friendly.

The area of the property was nice. It was close to grocery stores and restaurants. The downside was that the bed mattress was so stiff it caused back pain. I also found what looked like to be blood stains on the covers of my bed!!! It was disgusting. And kids were running up and down the halls all night and slamming their doors. No parents in sight supervising their children. Their breakfast was COLD and really old tasting.

There’s a nice, fresh smell when you walk in. Check in was easy as front desk girl was friendly. Love the pool table and other gamea in the lobby! Plenty of places to sit. Breakfast was really good for a free breakfast. Room was clean & love all the xtra charger ports, lights & hooks to hang bags/purses etc on. Bathroom had plenty of lights. Shower is nice & roomy with nice lemony smelling shampoo, conditioner, body wash & lotion in dispensers on hand.Only issue at all was inside shower there’s a foot rest for shaving legs. When you put your foot on it, it’s coming off the wall & while they offered body wash/shampoo etc, there wasn’t enough for 4 ppl for the every other day of housekeeping every other day so no major complaints. Ms. Sabrina @ the front desk is a gem!! My husband hung out in the lobby people watching, letting me sleep late & she was patient & friendly with every customer. Even the rude &/or grumpy folks. We stayed here 3-4 months ago. She was working then & she remembered us from the previous visit, making us feel special & valued. She’s so accommodating & patient with all customers. Please know you have a special employee with Ms. Sabrina!! We’re coming back to Garland several times in the next month & we’ve already reserved a room here for both upcoming stays

My wife and I are residents of the Philippines, so our US trip over 3 weeks and 4 cities resulted in many hotels. Tru was the best of all our accomodationsconsidering breakfast selection, room amenities and desk clerk interactions.

Had good staff, but building and rooms were super run down. Breakfast sucked, pancake machine was broken and they had moldy food! Usually love TRU chains but this one sucked

The hotel was great with a wonderful breakfast bar! Lots of great choices and able to stay and eat healthy!
