Ran out of hot water in the middle of shower. At 7:00am on Saturday morning, we were woken up by loud noises from construction. The management was unresponsive.

The hotel is an easy ride into town. Staff were very pleasant. We were upgraded to a family suite, which made our stay very enjoyable - great room. It has an amazing infinity pool overlooking the mountains. The pictures of the hotel make it look like there are no other developments around it, which is not the case. Unfortunately the food and drinks service was very chaotic. It often came late and cold. The wine and beer were served at room temperature. But they were happy to put on ice if you waited a while.

Beautiful hotel! Tranquil location (away from city centre), wonderful views from the room and restaurant/pool. Dinner/breakfast buffets we’re delicious and service was top. Room was spacious and bed super duper comfy, woken up by monkeys on the balcony which was noisy but cute. (Keep the doors closed). Staff were fantastic. Would recommend!

Nice place, good service. Not many sun loungers at the pool. Sad to hear that the leftovers from the buffet are thrown out and not given to the ones in need. Try to reduce food waste, and at the same time do something good for the ones without much.

Overall the hotel itself is excellent, the staff, the facilities and the food.....an excellent hotel. The only negative does not relate to the hotel itself maybe more about the city of Kandy, its very nosey and busy, we were hounded by local traders and drivers all day which compared to other parts of the country we would not have the same experienceits

I enjoyed my stay at the Golden Crown. I was only there one night, but it was the perfect place to rest after a busy day of sightseeing. My room was clean and spacious. The hotel is in a beautiful setting, and has these high windows in the lobby that makes you feel like you're in the middle of the jungle (you are!). The food was very good and service attentive. I would stay here again.

Very nice property and would certainly stay there again. A couple of notes. The carpeting in our room was getting old - number of small stains - nothing critical but for the standard the hotel portrays, it should be better. The morning rooster - every morning! Both the breakfast and dinner buffet were extensive, however the food quality was a bit below what one would expect from a higher end hotel. Food was good, but needed that extra oomph to bring it to a higher level.

Amazing experience - all round wonderful hotel with exceptional service. Dananjaya and the pastry chef organized wonderful birthday cakes for my wife. We’ve stayed in a good few hotels around the world but never seen such dedication and kindness. We had an enormous room which was so comfortable. Credit to Sumit and probart for excellence in room service.

Online it looked great. In reality, hotel was noisy and uncomfortable, restaurant service slow and mediocre food, staff tried hard and were friendly but the service was very poor. Everything from requesting a hair dryer to a to go coffee cup was answered by a No can’t do. Disappointing.

The hotel is an easy ride into town. Staff were very pleasant. We were upgraded to a family suite, which made our stay very enjoyable - great room. It has an amazing infinity pool overlooking the mountains. The pictures of the hotel make it look like there are no other developments around it, which is not the case. Unfortunately the food and drinks service was very chaotic. It often came late and cold. The wine and beer were served at room temperature. But they were happy to put on ice if you waited a while.

Beautiful hotel! Tranquil location (away from city centre), wonderful views from the room and restaurant/pool. Dinner/breakfast buffets we’re delicious and service was top. Room was spacious and bed super duper comfy, woken up by monkeys on the balcony which was noisy but cute. (Keep the doors closed). Staff were fantastic. Would recommend!

I enjoyed my stay at the Golden Crown. I was only there one night, but it was the perfect place to rest after a busy day of sightseeing. My room was clean and spacious. The hotel is in a beautiful setting, and has these high windows in the lobby that makes you feel like you're in the middle of the jungle (you are!). The food was very good and service attentive. I would stay here again.

Overall the hotel itself is excellent, the staff, the facilities and the food.....an excellent hotel. The only negative does not relate to the hotel itself maybe more about the city of Kandy, its very nosey and busy, we were hounded by local traders and drivers all day which compared to other parts of the country we would not have the same experienceits

Very nice property and would certainly stay there again. A couple of notes. The carpeting in our room was getting old - number of small stains - nothing critical but for the standard the hotel portrays, it should be better. The morning rooster - every morning! Both the breakfast and dinner buffet were extensive, however the food quality was a bit below what one would expect from a higher end hotel. Food was good, but needed that extra oomph to bring it to a higher level.

Amazing experience - all round wonderful hotel with exceptional service. Dananjaya and the pastry chef organized wonderful birthday cakes for my wife. We’ve stayed in a good few hotels around the world but never seen such dedication and kindness. We had an enormous room which was so comfortable. Credit to Sumit and probart for excellence in room service.

While the hotel overall is excellent, the hotel does need to address the old wing. We have previously stayed in the new wing & have had no complaints & returned due to our great experience. This time however we were placed in the old wing which needs to be refurbished. Additionally we got very little sleep due to the paper thin walls through which I could hear the neighbours mobile phone pinging & their child crying. If staying at this hotel, request the new wing or the hotel needs to refurbish the old wing

Feel cheated by both the Expedia as have done booking for 4 and taken half course which is break fast and one meal where as the voucher shows only for 2 adults. The worst part is property manager knew that the voucher had written 2 but they didn’t inform us that the meals are there for 2 only and when we checked out raised a bill for meals of $140 whereas I paid $80 already for the same . Wasted almost an hour and later have to pay $100 extra . Really sad part, it’s not about money but the conduct.
