Cartier Mansion

Super nice people, exceptional breakfast, completely intact historic home, I felt like I was living my best 19th century life. (With a strong WIFI network.)

5 stars is not enough for our experience at Cartier Mansion! The keyless entry to both the building and our room made check-in seamless. The room was so beautifully designed and had everything we could need, including a large glass bottle of water and two delicious chocolates. There were robes and mugs that we could take without having to go buy from the gift shop, it would simply be added to our bill. We were so lucky that both mornings of our stay we had the pleasure of being the only guests attending the included breakfast provided by the owners, which meant we got to chat with them extensively. Chris and Jenna were so kind, and went above and beyond. From the custom menus with fun facts about the mansion and its original owners, to the beautiful, delicious, and handcrafted 3-course breakfast we enjoyed, we could not have had a better start to our day. Not to mention, the opportunity to meet the most handsome and professional butler around, Carson! Booking at Cartier Mansion means receiving an incredibly detailed digital guide with recommendations for everything from dining to local secrets, as well as details about anything you could imagine about Cartier Mansion and Ludington as a whole. We enjoyed our time immensely at Cartier Mansion, and would never consider any other lodging when we return to Ludington for our yearly trip. I cannot say enough good things about the level of thought and planning the owners of this beautiful estate put into the guest experience.

My stay at the Cartier Mansion in Ludington, Michigan, was a delightful blend of historic charm and modern comfort. This beautiful neoclassical mansion, dating back to the early 1900s, is a true gem in the heart of Ludington. The rooms were incredibly comfortable, with luxurious bedding and thoughtful amenities that made our stay truly relaxing. Jenna and Chris Simpler, the innkeepers, were exceptional hosts, displaying warm hospitality and catering to our every need with genuine care and attention to detail. Their passion for preserving the mansion’s rich history added a special touch to the experience. The breakfasts were a highlight, featuring creative, locally sourced dishes that were both interesting and delicious. However, for lighter eaters like myself, it would be great if they offered a continental breakfast option alongside the multi-course gourmet spread. Overall, the Cartier Mansion is a must-visit for anyone seeking a unique, history-filled getaway with outstanding hospitality. I highly recommend it and look forward to staying there again.
