This adorable place has just 5 rooms that are directly in the beach. The rooms come equipped with a fridge, coffee maker and microwave. They have plenty of lounge chairs for soaking up the sun on the back lawn and beach chairs if you prefer the sand. This place is adorable!

I really enjoyed stepping out of my room and walk right to the beach. I enjoyed that I never moved my car the whole time I was there because everything was within walking distance. I really enjoyed having a good AC, beach chairs available, beach towels available, and bikes to rent. What I didn't enjoy is there is not an ice machine at this location. You need to stop by a convenience store and by ice.

At only 5 rooms, you might dismiss it -- but you would be making a huge mistake. The Mermaid is not only super cute and exceptionally clean, every room comes with beach towels and chairs. All you have to bring is the sun screen (and if you forget yours, the Mermaid has some available for purchase). And for the fun-seekers, golf carts are available for rent. Cool place, we had a great stay! Oceanfront vacation at its best! Clean, comfortable and convenient to dining, the beach, shopping. We also rented a super cool golf cart to zip around town, as well as drives on the beach. And...perhaps best of all...I caught my first Redfish! A 30" big boy! Thanks Salty Mermaid, we'll see you again sooooooon.

This little 5 room motel is a GEM!!!! Walk out your back door and you are footsteps from the beach. You park your car out frt and don't need it at all. Everything is a short walk...shops... restaurants...and bars....the room was SPOTLESS and cozy and comfortable. Can't wait to stay again...we had room #1 which had a walkin shower. There is only 5 rooms so it's a nice private place.you can sit outside your room and out back on comfortable lounge chairs with umbrellas. If I rate this 10 stars I would.

I really enjoyed staying at The Salty Mermaid. It is an absolutely beautiful location! It is a small hotel and doesn't seem fancy from the exterior, but it was clean and nice inside! It was probably one of the best locations you can get, as you walk right out on the beach, you have chairs and umbrellas provided, and you can walk to the shops and restaurants! I will definitely be going back!

The room was very clean and fresh However, the broom in the closet was filled with hair. The mattress was unbearable. I seemed as if there was a huge crater in the bed and it was very noisy

Pros: The location was top notch as was the outdoor common areas. The inclusion of beach chairs and towels is awesome too. The room was comfortable with average amenities. I enjoyed being in a small, quiet property. The proximity to the beach was phenomenal. Walking to restaurants and shops was also ideal. Cons: Crawling into the bed for the first night was met with sand in the sheets. Very, very unwelcome. After seeing the on-site machines being used to do laundry, I think they either can’t keep up with the workload of a beach environment or need a serious cleaning. The water took a very long time to heat up in the shower and the water pressure was less than ideal. Also, the shampoo/conditioner dispensers in the shower wouldn’t dispense (batteries dead??) and so we had to unscrew the lid to get the product out. Overall, I would still recommend staying at this property. For me, the pros outweigh the cons and I feel some of the cons would have been resolved if I had complained, which I didn’t. Given our short stay (2 nights), I just wanted to enjoy our time there. And we did!

The rooms are cozy and the view is excellent. The outdoor seating area is very nice and comfortable. The only reason I didn't give a five star on this visit is the sheet on the mattress was very uncomfortable and made sleeping less relaxed than on previous stays. I still love this place. Next time I'll bring my own sheet.

It doesn’t look like much but it is a nice little place with only 5 rooms. The only downfall is that there is no pool but it is right in the beach with access out the sliding doors. The place is very clean (and I am fussy), the room is very cool with great AC. The shower has good pressure and plenty of hot water and the towels are nice and thick. We had a little mishap with checkin when they told us the room would be ready in 30 min and I’d get a call when it was ready but when we returned no one was there as we sat melting in the heat for someone to return. We were rescued by another guest who happened to have the owners phone number. We called all the numbers we had and even texted with no response. Other than that, our stay was very enjoyable and they do add many comforts like cold water and other drinks in the fridge, beach chairs and towels, lounge chairs in the back yard. I recommend!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Salty Mermaid! We were looking for a unique property and found it. It’s just steps away from the beach with amazing sunrise views! The staff was very nice and friendly. We felt like it was our very own beachfront condo-it’s not a traditional hotel which we actually loved since you aren’t battling crowds and waiting on elevators or parking. There are several restaurants and shops within walking distance which was very convenient. You are close enough to Flagler Ave for all those benefits, but you don’t hear any late night noise or crowds in the property area. The bed was very comfortable and we appreciated the mini fridge in the room. The convenience of parking in front of your room entrance and being steps from the beach was just what we needed for our relaxing vacation. Loved the multiple beach chairs and umbrellas in the back patio area to relax while enjoying the shore. We did miss a pool on property, but that wasn’t a deal breaker with our close proximity to the beach. Bathroom was a bit small with little room to store your things, but we made it work. We will absolutely book the Salty Mermaid again! There really aren’t many unique options like this out there.

Very unique property that was close to everything. So nice to be able to see the ocean from our room. The restaurants and shopping on Flagler was just around the corner. Stayed in Room 1 with a large walk in shower and air conditioning unit in the window.

The accommodations were tastefully decorated and comfortable. The staff took time to contact us the day of arrival with checkin instructions, and even asked if we would like ice in the room upon arrival. We made a reservation at the Salty Mermaid later in the day and arrived on site after hours. We called the after hours number and they helped us to get into the room and have a place for the night despite not being able to verify our reservation. Amazing service. We made a reservation at the Salty Mermaid later in the day and arrived on site after hours. We called the after hours number and they helped us to get into the room and have a place for the night despite not being able to verify our reservation. Amazing service. Poorly Run and Way Over-Priced When we arrived, the vertical blinds on the sliding glass door were broken. The owner admitted they knew but said their handyman was busy, and they were never fixed during our three-night stay. On the second night, all guests were awakened at 3:30 a.m. by police pounding on doors due to the lack of an emergency contact number on the office door. A housekeeper also threw away my dental mouth guard, mistaking it for a drink, and despite searching the trash, it was never recovered. The owner promised to discuss compensation but never followed up. During our stay, fire alarms went off in every room when another guest burned food, and we had to hang towels over the broken blinds for privacy. Although advertised as a “boutique” hotel, it felt poorly managed and not worth the cost.

I'd like to start this review by saying I was super excited to try this hotel. The small feel, cute pics of the rooms, the closeness to restaurants and that it was right by the beach seemed perfect for us. I thought we would get exceptional service as well. Our checkin time on our reservation was 2pm. We got there early and figured we check to see if the room was ready and if not, then get lunch then maybe hit the beach. When we arrived we were told our room was next to be cleaned so off we went to lunch at the place next door. Came back an hour later and it wasn't ready yet so we found a spot in front of our room to chill until it was. We found that the other guests had taken over most of the space outdoors and no spots were left by the beach even though no one was in those areas - they blocked it so no one else could use them. 2 hours later and the room was not ready. 15 minutes after 2pm I went back up to the front desk to ask if there was a problem with the room and the snarky front desk person (not the original one that checked us in) said well check in was anytime between 1-3 so they had til 3. My response - expedia said check in was 2pm so she went to check on the room. Now mind you, we were infront of our room and knew housekeeping had been in the room for an hour and half at that point. The room was cute but that front desk agent with attitude really started our stay off poorly and has no customer service skills. For the price we paid for the room I expected more.

I called the phone numbers listed to get a hold of her after 5:00 and it took me an hour (sitting in my car wasting time) to hear from her. She said that she was at her daughter’s game. What type of business us this? I had driven a bunch of hours and was exhausted. It was very frustrating, especially because the Expedia agent told me he could not help me (e.g., cancel the reservation so that I could make a new reservation elsewhere).

Very cool gem! The pictures do not do justice. Ocean at your doorstep, thoughtful chique design, and extremely personable and friendly reception. We highly recommend. Plus, great dining and nightlife options within walking distance.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Salty Mermaid! We were looking for a unique property and found it. It’s just steps away from the beach with amazing sunrise views! The staff was very nice and friendly. We felt like it was our very own beachfront condo-it’s not a traditional hotel which we actually loved since you aren’t battling crowds and waiting on elevators or parking. There are several restaurants and shops within walking distance which was very convenient. You are close enough to Flagler Ave for all those benefits, but you don’t hear any late night noise or crowds in the property area. The bed was very comfortable and we appreciated the mini fridge in the room. The convenience of parking in front of your room entrance and being steps from the beach was just what we needed for our relaxing vacation. Loved the multiple beach chairs and umbrellas in the back patio area to relax while enjoying the shore. We did miss a pool on property, but that wasn’t a deal breaker with our close proximity to the beach. Bathroom was a bit small with little room to store your things, but we made it work. We will absolutely book the Salty Mermaid again! There really aren’t many unique options like this out there.

This little 5 room motel is a GEM!!!! Walk out your back door and you are footsteps from the beach. You park your car out frt and don't need it at all. Everything is a short walk...shops... restaurants...and bars....the room was SPOTLESS and cozy and comfortable. Can't wait to stay again...we had room #1 which had a walkin shower. There is only 5 rooms so it's a nice private place.you can sit outside your room and out back on comfortable lounge chairs with umbrellas. If I rate this 10 stars I would.

The Salty Mermaid is an adorable, vintage motel which has been updated but still keeping the charm of the past. Very clean with several amenities. Perfect beach location and So many shops and restaurants directly on Flagler We enjoyed our 1 night stay.

Rent a golf cart / e-bike and explore. Only complaint was shower head, needs a new one. Other than that, perfect for us on our 20th wedding anniversary. Thank you!

The room was very clean. The bed was so uncomfortable , glad we only stayed one night. There was a hose right outside our room that a lot of people were using so we had to close our blinds! Our mistake coming on a holiday weekend. Otherwise it’s pretty much right on the beach and there are beach chairs available to use. The coffee pot did not work. Parking was extremely tight!
