Clarion Pointe Syracuse Downtown

Great location. Next to downtown. The premises are somewhat old but clean. I wish they had free recharge for electric vehicles without having to download an app.

The property has only key card access.

First floor rooms accessed from outside.... Did not get walk-in shower I booked. Access key for one exterior door did not work. Clerk said it is regular thing.

The staff was quite nice. It’s a very small hotel, and the room was on the smaller size. The room had a fridge with freezer, good water pressure, and was very clean. No seating area in the room, but there was a desk and chair, and also, windows that open! Free parking, tiny gym. To note, the hallway to get to the rooms is outdoors; it’s tiled and covered but it was all wet when we were there because it was raining. All in all, it’s good value.

Staff were super friendly. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast did the job. The fitness center is a joke. You can barely fit in the room and there are no weights…just really large machines that have super limited functionality. The water bubbler in the fitness center didn’t work. God forbid if you wanted to do any work on the floor. The outside access was super quirky - one door didn’t work and the other was hit or miss. Hallways and staircases were pretty dirty.

Great for a one night stay. The staff was very friendly. We appreciated the included breakfast. Not a ton of variety or freshness, but was free and helped us save from spending on another meal. The room was moderately clean. The tub was a bit dusty and the carpet made our socks brown, but the surfaces and bed were clean. I was worried about parking looking at some other reviews, but we didn't have any troubles finding a spot. The lot was full when we came back from our event later on though. The rooms open to outside but there is a locked breezeway and you need a hotel key card to get in, so it felt secure.

Super convenient and clean - on site parking, friendly staff and complementary breakfast. Would stay again for sure.

The Reception people Darin , Renad and Ms.Shqiar did a wonderful job accomodating us with great hospitality and welcome. Also the parking is easy with two fast charging electric vehicle option, the breakfast is good especially the fresh coffee and tea and hand made hot fresh pancakes with syrup and Philadelphia cheese. I recommend

I had a good experience. The neighborhood is less than excellence. Additionally, there is not enough parking spaces.

Found a bed bug crawling on my luggage when I was packing up. 5 hairs in the sink.

Woke up to bed bugs, brought this up to the front desk and they have yet to do anything.

Good staff but the place had lots of insects and flies We weren’t able to sleep because we were afraid and disgusted flies and insects

The room was clean and very comfortable. No issue with room as it is clear they do a very good job with them. The bed was comfortable and bathroom very clean. I can see that they are trying very hard with updated parking lot, plenty of lighting in parking area, safety features of locked doors to exterior entrances with key code access only. The price was good for what I got and staff was attentive when I raised an issue.

The property has some sort of unpleasant scent as you walk along the corridors to your room. The flies were also unpleasant and annoying. It was in my room and the washroom and breakfast bar area. I actually saw the flies on the bagel. The bed was lovely and the room was tidy, so that was good.

Dirty

Room was small and bare bones but clean and tidy. Staff were friendly and helpful. The amenities… existed. The breakfast wasn’t anything worth mentioning and the exercise room was limited but functional. The surrounding area is not good - I wouldn’t walk off of the property grounds, and wasn’t happy that the room doors opened to the exterior.

It was a nice place as all I did was sleep there overnight! Very clean but very noisy with police sirens and stuff like that in the middle of the night! Not at their property just around it! It’s nice and quiet there! They have a great breakfast for free and it’s very clean and comfortable!!!

Let's start with the good. There are accessible rooms on the first floor. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful, most of the time. There is a decent breakfast, but it is mostly reheated frozen food and the standard waffle fare. Plenty of parking. The not-so-good. The wifi was trash. I ended up using my mobile hotspot to do work. The room opens directly to the outside, which is partially covered. This means that when it rains or snows, the walkway gets wet and very slippery. If you have mobility issues, be careful. I fell while I was there. The room was ok if you can walk around. I have low mobility and I could not wheel into the bathroom. The seam from the carpet to the tile was too high. I had to lift me and the chair one wheel at a time to go back and forth. Once in, the bathroom was large enough and had a few handrails. The shower was set up well enough, but there was very little hot water. It took several minutes to get anything near warm. The sink is just weird. It is too high and too far back to be useful for those in a wheelchair. The bed was comfortable, but there was too little space to move around in the room easily. The room was not cleaned very well because there was still a coat in the closet when I entered. The really bad: The area is not a safe neighborhood. It is in the part of Syracuse that people worry if you live there. Do not go out at night. In other words, there is a reason that you have to be buzzed in at 6PM on a Sunday. Stay anywhere else.

The bathrooms were new, the beds were comfortable, everything was clean, and it had a full breakfast with many choices.

This is an older property currently being refreshed. The lobby was a little jumbled but the super-friendly and warm welcome made up for any of that. The breakfast area was fine and the room was very fresh feeling. Our stay was comfortable with the only complaint being that the WiFi was quite poor and the TV advertised Netflix but it didn't work. Minor details, would stay here again.

This was a perfect overnight stay while visiting a local college with my son. We were minutes away. The staff went out of their way to be friendly and personable which which just added a positive vibe to the visit. The room was huge, clean, modern and newly renovated. Thank you!

The room seemed recently remodeled. Very comfortable.

The TV had sound on only select stations mostly being infomercial, otherwise no sound. Also there were 2 remotes. You had to figure out which did which. When I turned over to turn out the light, there was a sticky used candy wrapper between the bed and nightstand.…..how did that get overlooked when the ‘NEW’ sheets were put on.

Room was spotless! very clean and freshly renovated. Staff were very helpful. Area around the hotel wasn't the best, but that's no fault of the hotel.

The room (118) was near a door to the outside. All night, people were coming and going through this door and it would slam, making a tremendous amount of noise. Also, the breakfast was okay but not great.

The original reservation was for the wrong night but the hotel staff was able to help contact hotels.com to receive a refund and rebook for that night. The Clarion went above and beyond to help with the rebooking. Cannot thank them enough!!

Shower wasn't working and when the front desk was alerted they offered to allow for showering in another room and extend checkout time by an hour and a half. Unfortunately, the extra time was of no use as I had an appointment that I needed to get to and in the rush to vacate the room and grab a quick shower, I left the phone charger. After realizing it about two hours later, I notified the hotel who offered only to hold it until I returned, an option unavailable to me, and when I asked it be mailed to me, I was told no. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was told they weren't there. I asked for a call back and never received one.

The staff were incredibly friendly and efficient! The room was very clean, the pillows were great (the big fluffy ones) and the room amenities were all functioning! I love that they did not make you put a roon deposit down to stay the night either. The cleaning staff the next day were also very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed! Definitely where I will be staying going forwarx in Syracuse! Gas stations are right across the street and it is a perfect location for Suracuse downtown life and the mall!

Unkind and harsh reception at check-in. I realize it isn't personal and the guy was not enjoying his job, however, we are guests that paid and traveled far. Wi fi keep going in and out constantly so I mostly used data. It is not in the heart of downtown where it is safe and nice, though that area is closeby. A mile makes a huge difference. We were told by Uber the area was unsafe and don't walk around there. Didn't have that clean feeling with the old carpeting, dark marks on sheets, and suspicious dirt high on walls. Though that is not a reflection of the cleaning staff. They were very kind and doing all required tasks. I'm referring to a separate deep clean or renewal. Beds were comfortable. We enjoyed the cable TV selections at night. Nevertheless, my son and I were at our first university visit of many so the memories of being there in Syracuse overall were beautiful.

Returned to my room at 10:30pm & my door had been left open by cleaning staff front desk offered no solution or explanation…they didn’t offer to check or change my room. They said they would make a note of it,to whom I don’t know. Unsecured unsafe environment will never stay there again

When I arrived the hotel entrance was locked and there was no one at the reception. Waited 15min when receptionist finally returned. His explanation was he was helping a customer who was locked out of his room. Ok, but that is not an excuse. Hotel understaffed

Good value for the price, including the continental breakfast, nice choice and variety. Will recommend for the value. But didn’t like the area for walking at night.

I enjoyed staying here. It’s close to downtown, walking distance to everything. The area is just OK. There’s a lot of strange men walking around at night so if you’re a female, I would suggest partnering up with somebody or taking an Uber.

Recently remodeled and clean. Convenient to downtown, fairgrounds, amphitheater.

Limited parking for the hotel capacity but the real issue is the area around and near the hotel is run down and unsafe due to the sketchy people and buildings,i got hustled for money just trying to walk down the street and also To the right of the main entrance to the hotel is an abandoned lot with large piles of broken glass and down fence right next to the sidewalk, again the hotel is fine but the area is not ok !

I stayed here because its 0.5mi from syracuse half marathon startline. I was able to walk easily from hotel to start line of the race. Room was clean and quiet. Staff friendly, professional and accomodating. Nice simple continental breakfast. Parking was easy. I would highly recommend this hotel, especially for runners coming out of town to run the syracuse half marathon!

The rooms were clean, but the first two days no one cleaned our room. The third day, they changed our towels but did not clean the sink or make the bed. But did take our tip. The front desk staff were friendly. The facility is old. I was disappointed with the facility for the price I paid. Also, no dining options within walking distance. Homeless people in the parking lot asking for money. But it was only 10 minutes from Syracuse University.

Bed was comfortable. Air conditioner was a little noisy. I told the desk. They said they would let maintenance know. Breakfast was good.

In town for the New York State Fair and this was a great convenient option. Very friendly staff and a good free breakfast. Lots of options such as waffles, eggs, sausage, hash browns and breads. Coffee could be a bit stronger. Free wifi. The rooms are clean and efficient with a microwave and mini fridge. The room had more than 1 roll of toilet paper which a family appreciates. The bathroom has a vent and nightlight. The free parking lot is secure and also hidden from the street. The DirectTV is a bit tricky to figure it out but it has a good selection of channels for kids. Also, you can cast your own videos from a mobile phone. On this trip, I accidentally left a personal belonging behind and the staff was very helpful. We will stay again the next time we attend the fair.

Its a place to stay or sleep - staff are very nice but honestly the place look outdated already, the smell in the lobby have smell of something good but overwhelming , its like covering up a strong stinge. Breakfast is so so , juices is watered down and waffle batter is spoiled. But the staff is nice and helpful

Water runs out of shower. Bed clean but not really comfortable. Powdered eggs and strang tasting sausage. Would not eat that. But did eat bagel. That was fine

Expedia had listed breakfast as being from 6:30-10:30 (main reason I stayed here). Got there at 9:35, front desk said "Breakfast closes at 9, I just cleared it off at 9:30" I mentioned this to the Hotel after via Expedia messages and they appear to have changed it on Expedia now as well. Of course that doesn't negate the $20 I had to spend getting breakfast elsewhere.
