Hotel Rendale Miami Beach

What a gem I the middle of fancy-shmancy Miami Beach. The location can’t be beat! The Generator was super cool, hip and reasonably priced. We wished we could have stayed for longer than one night. The only hard part was parking, but we found a parking garage about 1 mile away and it only cost $8 for overnight parking.

The hotel location is good and walkable. There is only one elevator which is a bit slow. The rooms are bigger than most boutique hotels which was great. The hotel itself was clean but the pool did not seem very clean and the pool area could use a few more chairs. Otherwise a very good stay.

Very nice room in a very hotel. Parking sucks but I was able to park at a city garage about 3/4 mile away that has free and pay for shuttles and buses.

Check in with Alvin was easy. King Room was clean and comfy. Pool was heated and relatively clean. Check out was a breeze at 4:30am. Unfortunately, the elevator broke, so 8 flights of stairs was a challenge to be accepted.

NO WHERE TO PARK!! AND ROOM FLOOR WAS VERY DIRTY. HALLWAY AFTER GETTING OFF ELEVATOR WAS VERY DARK . ELEVATOR STOPPED WORKING WHEN IT WAS CHECK OUT DAY AND WE WERE ON TOP FLOOR HAVING TO CARRY SUITCASES DOWN 3 FLIGHTS OF STAIRS

There were a few mechanical problems. Some of the light switches did not turn on; the bathroom faucet did not work perfectly; and for a while the elevator was nonfunctional

This property doesn't have any parking options. It is a nightmare if you bring your car.

Cute hotel but there was no parking available and I specifically booked a stay there because their listing showed it having parking. I was told the closest parking was a 14 minute walk away, which is a bit ridiculous. Instead I paid $60 a day to park at another hotel across the street. Had they not stated they had parking I wouldn't have cared, but it was bothersome to roll up after a long travel day only to find there is no parking. Another thing is my "king bed" was actually two twin mattresses pushed together so there was a dip in the middle of the bed that made getting any proper rest almost impossible. That aside, its a great location with a nice pool and a decent bar with some quality mezcals and solid food. The front desk staff were friendly and the place was very clean.

Cute place only a block from the beach. Pool area is a lovely oasis. I wanted to give it a 5 but missed the mark in several areas. Despite the non-smoking signs everyone smoked even in the pool area. Our room smelled like it was over sprayed with air freshener probably because of the smoke but we couldn’t open the windows. Our room had to be recleaned as some things were definitely missed. The rooms are big but not enough hooks to hang clothes and bathing suits and tools and no where to put your things in the bathroom. Details but important Staff are very friendly and attentive and did the cleaning right away when they saw how it had been left Loved the area of the hotel near the beach and the citi bike rentals Loved the view from the room. The food was good and the pool area was beautiful. I really hope they step it up as it’s a true gem in the making…..but….

Easy to check in and out, place was very clean

Building and room were clean. Check in was quick and easy. We arrived before the room was ready and they kept our bags so we could go explore.

Was not advertised but shows up as a hostel when you search the address. Loud techno music playing on the first floor all day. Room was dirty and shower was moldy. No room amenities (microwave, iron, conditioner, lotion, etc) provided. Not worth the rate per night.

Nice inexpensive hotel to stay at in a pinch. Well located on Miami Beach. Staff was very welcoming and accomodating. Ate dinner at the hotel restaurant and was very good. The rooms are updated and clean.

We stayed at The Generator Miami over New Year's after reading some promising reviews online. Upon arrival, staff was friendly and accommodating, but then our experience went downhill after that. The room was not very clean - the floors were filthy and there were obvious stains on the furniture (!!). We wanted to enjoy a late lunch of margaritas and tacos after hearing such positive reviews, but the tacos were cold and tastless for the shocking price of $16 for 2 measly tacos. NYE picked up as we enjoyed the music and midnight toast. When we checked out the next morning, we left our luggage in the complimentary storage locker and enjoyed a few hours at the pool. When leaving, we grabbed our things and headed to our next destination. However, upon unpacking, we realized we had forgotton my husband's straw fedora on the desk in our rush to check out of the room on time. Surely, the friendly staff at the front desk would help? Unfortunately, the hat was no longer in the room and had not been returned to lost and found. We were so disappointed with this news and felt uncomfortable with the possibility that the hat was potentially "misplaced". Our concerns were met with a defensive attitude and rudeness from the front staff, who did not offer any resolution or follow up. We requested that they contacted us in a few hours with any updates, but never heard back. The experience has left a stain on an otherwise lovely visit to Miami, and we would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The beach is about 2 blocks away from the hotel. Plus, the hotel is up to par and cleanliness. I enjoyed my stay. I will come back again.

The room was very clean but the shower needs more cleaning, it wasn’t clean at all, i saw the damp building up in the shower floor. That was the only bad thing cos staff, room, location etc was excellent.

Clean and well kept

I got 2 dozen bug bites from the bedding in the room. I stayed in room 1311. Now they've followed me back and I have to fumigate my apartment. I complained about it but the staff didn't do anything. Friend complained about it and got new bedding but that didn't do anything.

The space is amazing! Staff friendly and easy to reach. Only thing from making it perfect, there isn’t any type of fridge or food preparation area. I’d really of loved having a microwave and mini fridge in the room to heat/store some snacks/fruits etc.

It was a good stay overall. I did however not like that I had to request that the AC be turned on, there are no controls in the room. The staff is very sparse considering the busy nature of the hostel. The restaurant staff was rude and didn’t pay attention to my needs. The place is located in a good part of the city close to the beach and the rooms are clean.

Excellent hotel, a little pricey but incredible well located, on the beach, and near restaurants and art galleries. One comment worth mentioning, no coffee machine or electric kettle for water in the room.

The Generator Miami was a fun place to stay close to the beach and walkable to lots of restaurants. The lobby and front porch had a cool vibe, very comfortable for relaxing. The room I chose didn’t have anywhere to relax so the lobby/porch option was super. The room was quite cold at times and there wasn’t a way to control that. But it was clean and the set up was great for having privacy while travelling with my adult son (sink, toilet and shower all separate). The area has heavy traffic (lots of honking) in the late afternoon and into the night but it didn’t interfere with my sleep. Overall it was super for our three night stay.

Place was neat and clean. Room was comfortable. It was a little weird because it didn't have a closet. Rather, it had a series of shelves for clothes and an extended nook for hanging items. Plenty of dining options within a half-mile walk. About 1.5 miles from the heart of dining in South Beach. About a mile walk to the Fountainebleue (where I had a convention with rooms at more than twice the price). A five-minute walk to the brickwalk along the ocean and a swimming beach.

The shower floor/grout was filled with mold. The pillows smelled foul. The A/C would not get cool/cold. The bed was not a proper King mattress- it was 2 twins butted together & you can feel the crack. I guess you get what you paid for lol.

Good clean room and comfy beds. Right next to the beach. Good pool too. Not much nightlife in the walkable area so quiet too.

When the reservation is done, it states that all the fees and taxes are included, but when you check in they charge you an extra 31 dollars per night on resort fee. I claimed that it says everything is included and they say it’s a Hotels.com mistake. I reached out to Hotels.com and no one takes accountability. So before booking, add 31 dollars per night to see if it’s still worth it. Other than that, the rooms are new and good.

Wonderful stay. The only complaint I have (and I have to say, is a major one....) was the last minute $95 "resort fee" the front desk surprised me with during check in. That was super unpleasant being hit with that charge unexpectedly, so I would suggest either including that charge in your nightly rate or just not charging it at all. I felt lied to.

charged $31 amenity fee upon arrival. There was no mentioning of this fee during booking. Also another staff said it was for tax. Very confusing, and prob illegal charge. No parking at the hotel, although it is listed as with parking at expedia. The bed is very narrow. The shower does not wrok well, with shower head very low, and the post holding shower head coming out of the hindge. No Wifi during the two days' stay, and the management showed no intention to fix it. Overall a very bad experience. Will not come again.

Tommy Shela and Mica at front desk were awesome. They anticipated what might be helpful and did it without me asking.

It was just an ok hotel. They only do the bare minimum. It’s definitely more of a hostel setting. The young people at the front desk were not extremely helpful. They were out of things and stingy with towels and shampoos etc. Room was small and shower leaked all over into the main living area. It was a mess every day. They were out of the happy hour punch at the start of happy hour. One of the gentleman at the front desk was short and curt with his responses. We had a problem with our key a hour before check out which required 3 trips up and down the elevator. When I asked him if we could have some additional time to check out because of the inconvenience he sassily responded we could have 5 additional minutes. They later on told us they refunded the late check out fee but I could not get over his rude response. One guy told us at the beginning of our stay that they would be able to hold our bags after we checked out. On the day of checkout, I heard others asking if they could have their bags held, and he rudely told them that there was no more space. He just would not go above and beyond, and was such a rule follower instead of a person with good customer service skills. The hotel was in a very good location very close to the beach. It was clean and had a fun indoor atmosphere. The people working there just seemed to have no urgency or desire when it came to pleasing their guests. I’m actually surprised that the hotel has the rating it has on many websites.

Our stay at Generator Miami was awesome! The staff was super friendly and made us feel right at home. The vibe was great—fun, stylish, and a perfect spot to meet people. The heated pool was definitely the highlight, perfect for relaxing after a day out. Only thing to keep in mind is that Miami Beach is a bit far from the city, but honestly, it didn’t take away from the experience. 10/10 would totally stay here again!

It's clean. Not a party hostel, more like a hotel. A minute walk to the beach. Property is clean. Airport bus 150 is across the street which is convenient. Overall the stay was good. Free trolley to get to other part of the beach.

This hotel is located 1 block from the beach, and the property is young, fun and vibrant. The rooms are basic, but fine. There is a stop across the street for the bus, Big Bus and free trolley which was perfect. Picio Taco has good food, but watch the specials- the $4 taco Tuesday was for 1 taco only, but the server didn’t say that when we ordered 4. The regular price is much higher than the special. The pool and pool table were great- the pool warm and the pool table fun. Only comment- we could have used tissues and body lotion and the tv reception was poor. Overall, a lovely property in a great location on Miami beach.

Overallwe had a great experience, met plenty of french people and had so much fun. The free trolley makes it easy to go down to ocean drive. However the staff were not so friendly, the building is a bit old, AC smells weird and the toilet and sink wouldn’t stop clogging for nothing. Also, the pool could use more cleaning. They don’t want you to bring exterior food around the pool but charge 18USD for chips and salsa at the hotel restaurant, it’s a hostel not a five star. Should have more reasonable prices for young travelers.

Everything fine, the only thing to improve is the availability in the list for breakfast. Two out of 3 morning not full range available.

Great ambiance. The food at the hotel restaurant is amazing. Pool is a great spot to relax. Great music selection. They are close to grocery, restaurants beach and the trolley. Just wished they had airport transportation, but beyond that great stay.

I really enjoyed the trip and the stay. However, with the outside bar and restaurant not being prepared to serve food, I was limited to the Mexican place since the hotel doesn’t allow outside food or drink.
