TownePlace Suites by Marriott Baton Rouge Port Allen

There was mold on the pullout couch where my son was to sleep and rust. It was absolutely disgusting. Do not stay in room 2125.

Overall I liked the staff and cleanliness but the rooms did not give the Marriott experience. I didn't have pets. Parking was a little funny at first. The front of the Hotel looks like the back of the Hotel. I drove around the building and then realized yep, that was the front. Breakfast was nothing to remember, only two hot selections. Expected much more based on some other Marriot hotels. The rooms were clean and no complaints about the cleanliness. However, the workmanship did not make me feel as if this was a Marriott experience. Surface rust in the bathroom multiple locations. The temperature dropped so we had to use the heater. It worked and heated the room to the desired temp but it kept cutting on and off to maintain 74 degrees (could have been operator error, but I don't think so). The noise of going off and on was not too loud but enough to annoy me. I ended up bumping it to 77 and then just turned it off. The front desk (and other staff) was extremely nice and eager to help us directions.

The only issue is the air conditioning in the room didn’t get cold

Room had everything including a small kitchen. Was quite comfy but compact. Good access from the highway. Friendly checkin. Good over night stay.
