The Water Street Inn is a lovely small inn that is conveniently located to walk around Kittery and walk across the bridge into Portsmouth, NH. Checking in is easy with the code that they give to you to enter the building and your room. They have a keurig coffee maker downstairs in the foyer that you can use to make your morning coffee. This was the perfect place to stay for a visit to Portsmouth.

Great place to stay. Beautiful xeriscaping in front and sides with a covered porch to rock and read under. The room was small (#6) but it had everything we needed. The towels and shampoo/conditioner/shower gel were lovely; we had plenty of towels. I loved the keyless/cardless door locks to the home and room. In the main living room there were myriad K cup coffee’s including soy milk, half & half, and oat milk in the fridge. A different fridge was stocked with little bags of ice to use in the ice bucket available to take to the room. If you BYOB you can label and put in the fridge as well. There was a freezer to re-freeze ice packs that we brought in our cooler. They had instant oatmeal, honey, and sweeteners available. The inn is close to the bridges that you can walk across and get some delish BBQ at Ore Nelle’s. Sit outside and watch the sunset over the water. Lots of restaurants in the town of Kittery, a Juicery, breakfast places and a Laundrette. It was a nice little place to stay and it was very clean. The staff were super responsive and had lots of great tips on dining places in sights to see!

Great area and just a short walk across the bridge to Portsmouth. Options for food and shopping extensive in the area. Accommodations were clean. Staff was fabulous. Coffee and snacks provided. Wine glasses and wine opener available. Hair dryer in room. Ice and water available. Community refrigerator you just write your name on it if you want to use.

Stayed in one of the attic rooms and would recommend but not to very tall people as the sloped wall can get in the way. Overall fantastic stay, staff were helpful and free tea/coffee and snacks were very handy. Parking is easy and very walkable into Portsmouth, 15ish minutes across the bridge. Would recommend and stay again.

We drive up from the Boston area to Portsmouth fairly often, and sometimes stay over a night, even though the drive is usually less than 90 minutes. But I have not been at the "Navy Yard" end of Kittery, right across the river, in about 25 years. This small property is a find. It is an easy walk across two short bridges to downtown Portsmouth but is also within easy walking distance of good restaurants in Kittery itself -- right across the street from a local landmark lobster place, which was closed while we were there (winter in Maine does not attract huge numbers of tourists!). The hotel offered good advice and a simple serve-yourself breakfast (great coffee, cold cereal and juice... nothing formal) and snacks.

Cute little cool room just outside of porstmouth nh. Loved the rocking chairs on the farmers porch. There were snacks and refreshments available in the lobby. Very comfortable bed. Didn't expect to be on the 3rd floor, fortunately we were cqpab of taking the stairs. Will definitely go back.

Felt like home with nice chairs on front porch, and coffee , water, fridge accessible. Although there were other guests, we felt like we were the only ones there (quiet). Also, just a beautiful property and walkable to Portsmouth for the Halloween parade. Loved our stay!

This was such a gem of a place! Cutest little inn with multiple rooms. They put out complimentary snacks and coffee/tea during all hours. Our bedroom/bathroom was super clean with a big TV and cable. Only a small walk across the bridge to downtown Portsmouth. I can't recommend this place enough :)

Enjoyed our stay. Room was clean, tidy and quiet. Bathroom fan was quite noisy when used. Wasn't expecting a room at the top floor but not a problem. Did not see the staff (hence the average rating) but all amenities were available. May be back at a future date and try a different room.

We love this inn. It is perfectly situated minutes away from all the great restaurants in Kittery and a short walk from downtown Portsmouth. We have stayed here twice and each time our room has been lovely; cozy, clean and full of charm. The lobby area is always stocked with snacks, coffee/tea and juices. It is a very special place and we will definitely return. The perfect spot for a relaxing mini vacation on the seacoast.

Cute little spot that is just across the bridge from the fun part of Portsmouth. Unfortunately the weather wasn't nice for us, but if it was, you could certainly walk there. The room was well designed and my wife really appreciated how comfy the bed was.

Enjoyed our stay. Room was clean, tidy and quiet. Bathroom fan was quite noisy when used. Wasn't expecting a room at the top floor but not a problem. Did not see the staff (hence the average rating) but all amenities were available. May be back at a future date and try a different room.

Husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We loved the closeness to be able t walk into Portsmouth and sitting in the front porch with our coffee. It did seem a little strange to never see or meet the owner, but I’m sure if we needed something they were just a phone call away. We will definitely be back.

Stayed in one of the attic rooms and would recommend but not to very tall people as the sloped wall can get in the way. Overall fantastic stay, staff were helpful and free tea/coffee and snacks were very handy. Parking is easy and very walkable into Portsmouth, 15ish minutes across the bridge. Would recommend and stay again.

We drive up from the Boston area to Portsmouth fairly often, and sometimes stay over a night, even though the drive is usually less than 90 minutes. But I have not been at the "Navy Yard" end of Kittery, right across the river, in about 25 years. This small property is a find. It is an easy walk across two short bridges to downtown Portsmouth but is also within easy walking distance of good restaurants in Kittery itself -- right across the street from a local landmark lobster place, which was closed while we were there (winter in Maine does not attract huge numbers of tourists!). The hotel offered good advice and a simple serve-yourself breakfast (great coffee, cold cereal and juice... nothing formal) and snacks.

Cute little spot that is just across the bridge from the fun part of Portsmouth. Unfortunately the weather wasn't nice for us, but if it was, you could certainly walk there. The room was well designed and my wife really appreciated how comfy the bed was.

We loved our short stay the Water Street Inn! Super cute property, super comfy bed and bedding, which is just what we needed. We drove to nearby restaurants and shops, seemed a bit far to walk. Community refrigerator and good coffee, all good!

The Water Street Inn is a lovely small inn that is conveniently located to walk around Kittery and walk across the bridge into Portsmouth, NH. Checking in is easy with the code that they give to you to enter the building and your room. They have a keurig coffee maker downstairs in the foyer that you can use to make your morning coffee. This was the perfect place to stay for a visit to Portsmouth.

Great place to stay. Beautiful xeriscaping in front and sides with a covered porch to rock and read under. The room was small (#6) but it had everything we needed. The towels and shampoo/conditioner/shower gel were lovely; we had plenty of towels. I loved the keyless/cardless door locks to the home and room. In the main living room there were myriad K cup coffee’s including soy milk, half & half, and oat milk in the fridge. A different fridge was stocked with little bags of ice to use in the ice bucket available to take to the room. If you BYOB you can label and put in the fridge as well. There was a freezer to re-freeze ice packs that we brought in our cooler. They had instant oatmeal, honey, and sweeteners available. The inn is close to the bridges that you can walk across and get some delish BBQ at Ore Nelle’s. Sit outside and watch the sunset over the water. Lots of restaurants in the town of Kittery, a Juicery, breakfast places and a Laundrette. It was a nice little place to stay and it was very clean. The staff were super responsive and had lots of great tips on dining places in sights to see!

This was such a gem of a place! Cutest little inn with multiple rooms. They put out complimentary snacks and coffee/tea during all hours. Our bedroom/bathroom was super clean with a big TV and cable. Only a small walk across the bridge to downtown Portsmouth. I can't recommend this place enough :)

Cute little cool room just outside of porstmouth nh. Loved the rocking chairs on the farmers porch. There were snacks and refreshments available in the lobby. Very comfortable bed. Didn't expect to be on the 3rd floor, fortunately we were cqpab of taking the stairs. Will definitely go back.

We love this inn. It is perfectly situated minutes away from all the great restaurants in Kittery and a short walk from downtown Portsmouth. We have stayed here twice and each time our room has been lovely; cozy, clean and full of charm. The lobby area is always stocked with snacks, coffee/tea and juices. It is a very special place and we will definitely return. The perfect spot for a relaxing mini vacation on the seacoast.

The Inn was lovely and the owner was very helpful, even walking up my heavy suitcase to our room--many stairs. Our room was at the top and had a lovely view of Portsmouth and surrounding garden via the sky window. Everything was nicely accommodating and very convenient to Kittery downtown and to Portsmouth. The only thing I would note was that the "breakfast" marketed on website provided (via Hotel.com) turned out not to be the standard Inn type of breakfast definition we had expected (assumed), i.e. sit down full breakfast. Otherwise, all was good, and the breakfast items provided were very nice. A good number of breakfast spots recommended by the Inn were especially appreciated and we found a wonderful spot in Portsmouth, which ended up working out well, as we were heading out in that direction. Parking was very good. I would highly recommend staying here. One caveat: If you're old(er) like US and with a bit of luggage, be sure to book the more private and physically-friendly unattached rooms (7 & 8) that are located next to the main house.
