Very nice rooms with king-size beds. Great water pressure and rooms have air-conditioning. Iron and board in room. Staff throughout are pleasant and approachable. Restaurant offers a reasonable choice including several vegetarian options. Breakfast ok, wouldn't win any culinary prizes but is adequate.

Perfect for what we needed it for which was a base to sleep. Plenty of parking, road was noisy but fine if you had windows closed. Air con was perfect as was very warm, beds were comfy. It was very clean but could tell it just needed a freshen up especially in bathroom. Staff were all very friendly, breakfast was okay - overall, great stay

The cottages housing the rooms are small but well designed. They are near the road but this is very quiet at night. The golf course looked in very good condition and though we didn't play it on this occasion, we will play next time we visit.

Good location as close to A30. We booked 4 rooms wanting ground floor for all (Expedia available room information is misleading) but when we checked in some were not ground floor. We changed the rooms to the chalets but for some reason were given one room in each of the 3-room areas of the chalets. The walk from th chalets to the restaurant is difficult for the elderly and infirm. Restaurant is really only canteen standard and one of the staff was not very helpful (eg no tongs to pick up hot toast from toaster one morning); too brightly lit and no real comfortable chairs/lounge area. Rather overpriced given the facilities available.

i was allocated a room in an building seperate to the main hotel - located at the end of the lane. There is no lighting on the lane, after my evening meal in the hotel i had to navigate back to my room down a dark lane, full of potholes / puddles using only the torch on my mobile phone.

Room clean and comfortable but too small to accommodate easy chairs to sit in despite tea and coffee making facilities. The room was some way from the hotel. Hotel was the golf course clubhouse, but there was no lounge area to sit in. We found the clubhouse noisy on both evenings. Staff were excellent and friendly. Golf course in excellent condition and a joy to play.

On the whole the stay was very good. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful - there was just one waitress on one evening who was a bit distracted and served us but didn’t return to check if we wanted anything else. But the others were very attentive The food was very good and there was plenty. The room was clean warm and comfy the setting is calm and beautiful and location handy for most of the places in Cornwall we wanted to visit!

Overall we were very happy with our stay. The room was spacious and very clean but lacked storage space. The bathroom was good with a good shower and bath but nowhere to hang clothes. Breakfast was also good but at times the kitchen struggled to keep up with demand. We would return if in the area.

No hot water in the shower. Shower head was partially clogged. Had to run a bath instead, and was already pressed for time. Facial hair around the sink. Building was right next to the main road, very noisy.

Good service at reception. Food - adequate. Accommodating poor. Why poor? Noisy room right by the main road, thin walls, toilet paper thin, no toilet brush, room smelt of sweat on arrival necessitating open the windows to let in fresh air. Very poor indeed.

The room was like new so very pleasing and accommodating. Kids had a bunk bed they were happy to have, be it with no windows. Massive TV screen. Easy Wi-Fi access. Breakfast was a selection a cereals and a buffet hot food. Generally quite good as far a buffet food is concerned.

We had a great 1 night stay. The upgraded room was basic but clean and had all we need. Paintwork was a bit shabby and nothing special. We ate in the restaurant which had plenty of choice and the food was great. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. Overall a great stay as a stopover

Could have been superb. Really lovely location and helpful staff, the one thing that was disappointing were the mattresses, very saggy, clearly well used and uncomfortable, feels like a small thing but if you are sleep deprived on holiday it's not so much fun. Breakfast was lovely. Overall pretty good and the set up of the family rooms with the bunk beds separate to the double room is a great idea. Thanks ☺️

Stayed in a family room - it was great, the kids had a seperate small bunk room off the main room. The king bed was so comfortable and room was nicely decorated. Breakfast was good, nice and hot food but the plates were so hot to hold, maybe these dont need to be quite to hot!

Quite a poor experience sleep wise and not for the first time. On my first visit my room backed onto the driving range so I was stopped from having a nap by the permanent rumble of balls. This time there was what sounded like a toilet pump running every two or three minutes at quite a volume for the entirety of my stay in the room to the extent where I couldn’t sleep On the plus side the restaurant food and service were very good indeed

Enjoyable stay. A bit disappointing on arrival that a small fridge we had asked for was not present, and there were only towels for only one person in the room, This was however soon rectified by Freya from Reception, who was a real gem. Good dinner and excellent breakfasst

The venue is very well maintained, quite pretty with lots of green and the room was clean, tidy and equipped with iron and board, too. Food was fine. I had a nice staying. Staff could do with a bit more of customer service skills, they weren’t the most friendly people, they wouldn’t acknowledge customers walking in and they preferred talking to each other, but they were young and I guess lots to learn still. Other than that, everything was good.

The hotel would have been fine if it were not for the fact that we had asked for a wheelchair accessible room and we were not given one. The hotel was apologetic and provided a full refund. It would have been a lovely hotel otherwise with converted cottages. Therefore I would advise phoning the hotel in advance and making sure that your assigned room did have an accessible bathroom if you need one.

The breakfast was fantastic, great service and lovely food. Unfortunately there were a couple of negatives. We requested a king bed but when we arrived at our room quite late, we had single beds. The next day staff opened our door without knocking over an hour before checkout. The room was very hot and we couldn’t get the room to cool using the conditioning unit. Opening windows not an option cos we were right next to the noisy main road.

Staff could do with a bit more of customer service skills, they weren’t the most friendly people, they wouldn’t acknowledge customers walking in and they preferred talking to each other, but they were young and I guess lots to learn still. Other than that, everything was good.
The venue is very well maintained, quite pretty with lots of green and the room was clean, tidy and equipped with iron and board, too. Food was fine. I had a nice staying. A lovely short stay, very relaxed stay with comfortable room and lovely surroundings. Great for kids as well as Golfers, with the leisure park next door!

Perfect for what we needed it for which was a base to sleep. Plenty of parking, road was noisy but fine if you had windows closed. Air con was perfect as was very warm, beds were comfy. It was very clean but could tell it just needed a freshen up especially in bathroom. Staff were all very friendly, breakfast was okay - overall, great stay

The cottages housing the rooms are small but well designed. They are near the road but this is very quiet at night. The golf course looked in very good condition and though we didn't play it on this occasion, we will play next time we visit.

Good location as close to A30. We booked 4 rooms wanting ground floor for all (Expedia available room information is misleading) but when we checked in some were not ground floor. We changed the rooms to the chalets but for some reason were given one room in each of the 3-room areas of the chalets. The walk from th chalets to the restaurant is difficult for the elderly and infirm. Restaurant is really only canteen standard and one of the staff was not very helpful (eg no tongs to pick up hot toast from toaster one morning); too brightly lit and no real comfortable chairs/lounge area. Rather overpriced given the facilities available.

Enjoyable stay. A bit disappointing on arrival that a small fridge we had asked for was not present, and there were only towels for only one person in the room, This was however soon rectified by Freya from Reception, who was a real gem. Good dinner and excellent breakfasst

Very nice rooms with king-size beds. Great water pressure and rooms have air-conditioning. Iron and board in room. Staff throughout are pleasant and approachable. Restaurant offers a reasonable choice including several vegetarian options. Breakfast ok, wouldn't win any culinary prizes but is adequate.

On the whole the stay was very good. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful - there was just one waitress on one evening who was a bit distracted and served us but didn’t return to check if we wanted anything else. But the others were very attentive The food was very good and there was plenty. The room was clean warm and comfy the setting is calm and beautiful and location handy for most of the places in Cornwall we wanted to visit!

Faultless few days with the lads playing golf and the girls out shopping. Only criticism would be the most/all of the restaurant chairs need replacing. They are either falling apart or uncomfortable due to no padding

Overall we were very happy with our stay. The room was spacious and very clean but lacked storage space. The bathroom was good with a good shower and bath but nowhere to hang clothes. Breakfast was also good but at times the kitchen struggled to keep up with demand. We would return if in the area.

Overall my stay was good, the only thing I would criticise was the fact that the pillows were far too soft for me. The breakfast was to a very good standard, and was self service, so you had exactly what you wanted.

Food and rooms were excellent. Stood at bar for 20 mins waiting on a drink whilst staff chatted in reception. Otherwise staff were pleasant and efficient!

Lovely comfortable room, pleasant restaurant in the club house with gluten free choices. We spent 1 night to break up our journey to St Ives but would definitely return to Trethorne again for longer and explore the surrounding area as it was really good

Quite a poor experience sleep wise and not for the first time. On my first visit my room backed onto the driving range so I was stopped from having a nap by the permanent rumble of balls. This time there was what sounded like a toilet pump running every two or three minutes at quite a volume for the entirety of my stay in the room to the extent where I couldn’t sleep On the plus side the restaurant food and service were very good indeed

The room is very large, the place is clean and relatively quiet considering its location. However, we found the beds to be terrible, much too soft (at least in the room we had). We really slept “in” the bed rather than “on” the bed.

The hotel was very helpful and friendly. We had air conditioned rooms which was amazing as it was a very hot and steamy night. The rooms were big and very comfortable. The restaurant and bar were nice and the food was good. I would definitely stay again.
